Hey guys and gals, welcome back to MHA: The Value of a Thief! This time around we're finally going all into the Kaneshiro arc baby!
Yeah this was meant to be in the same chapter as last one but the ending just felt too good not to cut off.
Like literally, writing this right after posting it.
But anyway, let's just get this baby started

Student Council Room
Third person P.O.V.
"-And then while in that dark void, the card that Jose gave me summoned a new Persona called Izanagi Picaro that pulled me out and helped finish Madarame off. But then he transformed into a giant stream of Ink. But luckily Fox realised we could freeze and then shatter them into pieces. So while Izanagi distracted the big guy we finished up all the clones and then me and Fox both froze the Giant Madarame before he and Izanagi sliced it into a bunch of smaller pieces. And then with one final strike we managed to finish it off! However as we were escaping, Madarame mentioned another Persona in a Black Mask who Fox had noticed watching the battle! And you can guess the rest from there" Ren stated, finishing up the story of the Phantom Thieves to the two sitting in front of him.
However the two of them were just frozen, trying to process the story that Ren had told the two of them.
"I can't believe you actually told them every single thing" Morgana sighed, shaking his head "Why would you do that."
"Hey, I have my reasons" Ren told him before turning to Makoto and Haru "So, what did you two think?"
"I ju- you…I…uh…what?" Makoto stuttered, trying to find the right words.
"S-So, Mona-chan can really talk!" Haru blinked, while Makoto turned to her.
"You don't actually believe that ridiculous story do you?" Makoto asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"But Mako-chan, that would explain why he was so helpful back in U.A." Haru told her "Though, I guess he could have just been really well trained…"
"Haru…" Makoto sighed, shaking her head before turning to Ren "Do you really think I'd believe a story like that?"
"Hey, I told you that you wouldn't believe me didn't I" Ren pointed out with a smug smirk as he crossed his arms "Besides, how are we meant to work together if there's no trust."
Makoto raised an eyebrow at "What do you mean by that."
"I figured out that you want us to change a heart, probably a criminal going around affecting the students in this school considering that pamphlet that was posted but Kobayakawa won't do anything about it. So that leaves us, your only option." Ren said "That whole long ass story, just to fuck with you for trying to blackmail us."
"Aw it was all a lie really, so no talking Kitty" Haru pouted.
"Hmm, clever" Makoto smirked. "But you should know that your not quite in the place to say no to this, all I have to do is show the Principal our findings and your identity will be revealed."
"And all we have to do is head to Mementos for like, 10-20 minutes and your hearts will be changed" Ren pointed out making their eyes widen.
"Course I won't do that since it seems to me you genuinely wanna help our classmates, so how about this." Ren said, making the two girls raise an eyebrow "As you know, changing a heart is a lot more difficult than you'd expect. Having to find the information about the target and all that and we could use your help."
"You want to work together…" Makoto muttered, crossing her arms "What possible reason would you want that."
"Do you really think the school's biggest delinquents and Ann could get info out of them? Where would we even start."
Makoto looked down and closed her eyes, 'He does make a good point, if even some of his story was true then information gathering is important to their process and with their placement in the school it will prove difficult…'
"I think we should do it, Mako-chan." Haru said, as Makoto looked at her surprised.
"Mako-chan…"
"I mean, we were already thinking of doing it anyway. And this is the best way to help the others and who knows, it could be exciting" Haru smiled.
"...Alright, we'll except you offer. But just know, if you betray us in anyway we will leak your identities" Makoto told him.
"Alright, but we'll need to convince the others first." Ren said, stretching a bit "They're already waiting at the Station so lets go."
Makoto and Haru reluctantly followed him, but what they didn't notice was that a familiar blue pony tail was hanging from the side of the window listening to the entire thing.
As Ren walked ahead, a fly flew into the bag before Morgana popped his head out.
"You find anything Morgana?" Ren asked, looking back at the cat who nodded.
"Yeah, but we'll have to wait for now."
Shibuya Station
Third person P.O.V.
"Ugh! Where are they" Ann frowned, as she, Ryuji and Yusuke waited at the station for their leader.
"Yeah, he was acting really weird too. Telling me too Shut up like that." Ryuji admitted, as Ann looked down at him.
"That's because you had to ask him in that super weird way" Ann pointed our, making Ryuji snicker.
"Oh come on! It was funny and you know it!" Ryuji yelled back, while Yusuke noticed something.
"Hmm? Are they friends of yours?"
"Huh? What the hell!" Ryuji yelled, as they saw Ren walking up with Makoto and Haru next to him.
"Hello" Haru said with a smile waving to them.
"Ren, what the hell is going on!" Ann asked, with a raised eyebrow as Ren sighed.
"These two, managed to figure us out" Ren explained, as Makoto walked up and played the recording.
"We can't let the cops scare us outta bein' Phantom Thieves."
"And most of the Heroes are actually on our side, heck All Might at least knows my identity and he completely supports us. Besides in the worst case scenario we can just leak his secret"
"But... What about that weird guy Yusuke heard in Madarame's Palace? Isn't there a lot we don't know?"
Ryuji and Ann's eyes widened as Yusuke shook his head in disappointment. "Oh for the love of... What part of 'lower your voice' do you not understand, Ryuji?"
Ryuji looked over at Yusuke in annoyance. "How was I supposed to know that they were there?! And these two are just as much to blame."
"Sorry…" Ann sighed, with a frown.
"Well, let this be a valuable lesson to be aware of our surroundings." Ren told them, crossing his arms.
"What do you intend to do with this?" Yusuke asked, with a raised eyebrow. "I doubt you came all this way to inform us of that, are you going to be taking this information to the authorities."
"Tch, I bet you're only here cuz you were told to Nijima and you just roped Okumura-senpai in this. After all the school can't possibly associate themselves with criminals" Ann stated, crossing her arms "Not that they care about having literal molesters on staff or if one of their students committed suicide or anything. You're trying so hard to be such a good little girl you're just letting all of the adults step on you. To be honest, I pity you."
"Hey! Leave Mako-chan! You have no idea what she's being put through right no-" "Haru, it's fine…she's right."
"Huh?" Ann blinked in surprise.
"That's why I wanted to know for certain that what you all are doing is Just, like what All Might says, I wish to see what you do first hand and whether or not you are doing good." Makoto told them with a determined look in her eye.
"Huh, what do you mean that you want us to prove it?" Ryuji asked with a raised eyebrow.
"She wants us to change someone heart" Ren explained, looking at them.
"That's right, after all we're in a stalemate at the moment. We can send the recordings but you can also change our hearts just the same." Haru explained "So we have a proposition, change this person's heart and we'll delete these recordings and forget this ever happened."
"Alright…and who's heart do you want us to change then…" Yusuke asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"That's the thing…we don't exactly know who they are. We just know what they are doing." Haru told them.
"... What do you mean?" Ryuji asked carefully.
Makoto took a deep breath. "Look... I'll be frank here... I was asked to look into you guys by Principal Kobayakowa... To find the Phantom Thieves. Have you guys seen those posters around the school?"
"Yeah. You put them up to help gather information?" Ann asked, recalling the posters around the school that said if someone had information to go to the student council room.
"Principal Kobayakowa put those up without her permission." Haru explained "Students have been coming in with information, but it wasn't information about the Phantom Thieves. It was about something bad going on in Shibuya."
"Something bad Shibuya?" Ren asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"That's right, It's too big for me to deal with." Makoto nodded "I brought it to Principal Kobayakowa's attention, and... And he said that we should take care of it ourselves."
"Typical of that shitty baster…so what, you're pushing it onto us?" Ryuji asked angrily.
"No not at all, we're sorry if it's coming off like that" Haru assured him, raising her hands.
"We plan to help you out as much as we can with the investigation." Makoto told them before looking down "I just… we've been hearing so many horrible stories…our fellow students getting hurt…"
"They can't even call out to the Police or the Heroes for help or their families will be targeted." Haru continued looking down while holding her arms.
Ren looked at the others as they had uncertain looks on their faces "I think…we need some time to consider this."
"Fair enough, I'll give you until tomorrow to think it over…meet us on the roof tomorrow morning." Makoto told them, before she and Haru walked away.
Diner
Third person P.O.V.
An awkward silence passed by the Thieves as they hung around the Diner, still processing what had just happened.
"What should we do…I mean, they got dirt on us…" Ryuji asked, with a frown.
"A recording is insufficient evidence and there's no way they could prove our methods." Yusuke noted.
"Yeah but, you don't know what we're dealing with. This could easily be a trap." Ann pointed out. "They probably wanna figure out our methods to properly get us arrested."
"I doubt they would even believe our methods even if we blurted it out, heck I even tested it out" Ren admitted, as they all looked at him.
"What did you mean by that?"
"I needed to buy some time for Morgana to search around the room, so I told them everything we've done in the most ridiculous way possible. I knew our methods were too ridiculous for anyone to believe, which worked."
"Dang man, that's ballsy" Ryuji grinned with a snicker.
"What did you find Morgana?" Ann asked, looking down at the cat who poked his head out of the bag.
"I didn't have much time but I did take a look into the box they held which showed the anonymous submissions from the student body. It looks like they weren't lying about something going on."
"What did it say?" Ren asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"I didn't have a lot of time…something about, a part time job in Shibuya and those who took it looking weaker and frailer, some having to stay at home and others being brought to the hospital" Morgana explained.
"I believe I've heard similar rumours in my own school as well, that some students have been staying at home due to their weak health." Yusuke explained.
"Yeah, I think I remember some guys walking up to me and offering me a job as well…didn't pay much attention to it but thinking back." Ren admitted, crossing his arms.
"Holy shit, so this really is happening" Ryuji blinked, looking honestly surprised.
"So where do we go from here?" Ann asked, looking at the group.
"Well I've already agreed, if these students really can't come to the police or the heroes for help then we're really their only option" Ren said, leaning back.
"I say we should do it, I mean there would be no other reason why they wouldn't give that info to Kobayakawa if they didn't care about those other students" Ryuji spoke out.
"I agree, besides. After what happened at U.A., having those two as allies would be a lot more optimal then having them as our enemies." Morgana suggested.
"If this has become so big it's even affected my school, then we can't just go and ignore it." Yusuke agreed, before they all looked at Ann.
"Hah…fine, I guess I'd be betraying what I believe in if I ignored these people because of my own feelings." Ann sighed, as Ren took out his phone.
"Then we've all agreed, I'll tell them when we get back."
Ann's phone pinged, and she checked her messages. "Sorry... I gotta go. I'm getting called to an emergency shoot."
"I should probably get going too. My mom has to be worried about me." Ryuji told them, getting up as well.
"Then I should go as well. You can contact me when the meeting starts." Yusuke said, as they all stood up and left the diner.
As Ren walked to the station, Morgana poked his head out of his bag "You took on a real gamble you know, if she had believed you then you would be kicked out of Leblanc and sent straight to jail."
Ren only smirked as he looked ahead "I know, but that's why I decided to put my faith in her."
"Huh, what? Why would you do that?" Morgana asked, as Ren remembered how well they all worked together in U.A.
"You know what they saw, the best way to beat an enemy is to make them your friend."

In the middle of the city we see a gigantic statue of the number 1 hero All Might, however on his chest was a spray painted logo of a top hat and mask with flame coming out the eyes.
YEAH! YEAH! OW!
We then see a blur zoom past the statue, with the camera barely following its movements.
It's your haze of delusion versus reality
We see Joker running from rooftop to rooftop, with a light shining on him as several helicopters chased after him
Just keep stirring the pot to find your individuality
Arsene then flew up behind him before Joker jumped off the rooftop and grabbed his partner's Chain to help him fly.
Delete another problem that is plaguing your mind
We next see Skull running down the highway as several police cars chased after him, a wild grin on his face as he ran
From day to day! To end to end! That's entertainment of our lives
Captain kidd then sailed up and caught Skull as he cheered into the night sky, as face of pure joy behind him
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Dancing through the skies
Several paint marks were slashed at the walls, as we see Fox painting everything in the alleyway around him
Let's celebrate our time, and party while we're still alive
He then spun around as Goemon showed and blew his smoke allowing the paint to glow revealing he had painted different hero posters and stop signs.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Dancing through the skies
Panther then jumped down onto some train tracks and began dancing, as she began spinning around like a Ballerina
Kick your worries to the side and aim up to the sky.
Carmine then appeared behind her, and below a flaming tornado that spun around her as she smiled up at the beauty.
EVERYBODY! Put your hands up!
We see Queen riding on Johana with Mona on her back, as the two of them drove up an elevator through a window.
We'll be flying~ Can you imagine it?
We see a large UFO flying above the city with Oracle inside, before she tapped a few commands into it
Search and you'll find the stage set within your dreams.
The UFO then began flashing several colours like a Disco Ball that lit up the entire city.
The place where you're the one
Down below we see Noir and Milady dancing like in a ball on Shibuya crossing before the two spun around.
That's where you're meant to be!
Noir then struck a pose as Milady revealed the variety of guns below her dress.
EVERYBODY!
We then see the Thieves falling through the sky towards a variety of statues of Pro Heroes.
Put your hands up!
We see both Panther and Mona aiming firing their guns at a statue of Ryukyu which crumbled into pieces.
We'll be flying!
Then Skull and Fox quickly moved past a large statue Edgeshot, cutting it in half.
Can you imagine it?
Next we see Queen and Noir crashing, punching the large statue of endeavour into pieces.
Search and you'll find the stage you set within your dreams
In the UFO we see Oracle typing in a few more codes with a grin on her face, before snapping her fingers causing her UFO to drop a huge bomb towards the All Might statue.

Joker then grinned as Arsene threw him towards the bomb which he shot with his pistol causing a huge explosion of colours.
FLYIN! Within these memories!
We see the whole team of Phantom Thieves cheering at the beautiful explosion they were witnessing.
FLYING! That you're slowly forgetting!
Joker smirked before he spun around and landed towards the ground as the train passed by him.
Just listen close to the song that lies within you~
Ren then gets up in his school uniform with Morgana in his bag, before he waved to us and walked back towards the crowd of people passing by.

Shujin Academy Principal's officce
Third person P.O.V.
"Niijima-kun, what is going on here!?" Principal Kobayakowa asked Makoto in his office. "Apparently, the damage done by this so-called mafia has even reached our student body!"
"Well..." Makoto uneasily muttered.
"I thought this absurdity was nothing but a bad joke! Not only are there victims, there are even rumors that some are involved with such crimes... I've even received inquiries from their guardians. Why is this happening?"
"Unfortunately, I do not have the answer to that..." Makoto admitted.
"This is the greatest disgrace in the history of this academy... If it were to be discovered..." Principal Kobayakowa said out loud.
'A bigger disgrace then an Ex-hero physically and sexually assaulting students, even driving one to commit suicide' Makoto thought, gripping her hand as Principal Kobayakowa looked up at Makoto, almost glaring at her.
"This is a vital issue for the student council! Did I not ask you to resolve it!?"
"Haru and I… We are doing the best that we can..." Makoto explained.
"A-And I can trust you!? You must do something about this at once! You are the only one who is reliable around here... Don't let me down..." Principal Kobayakowa argued. "From what I've heard, even the other students are starting to be dissatisfied with you. At this rate, you and I will both lose our roles at this school. Do you understand?"
"I do. Please, just give me a little more time..." Makoto begged meekly. She didn't know how she still had the energy to fight on this.
"Fine. You have until the first week of next month. Don't let me down, Niijima-kun."
"Okay. Thank you for your time." Makoto said, bowing her head as she quickly turned around and left the office.
Makoto held her head as she walked back to class, each step cause small cracks on the floor as her stress rose more and more.
Rooftop
Third person P.O.V.
The next day after classes, Makoto and Haru were waiting outside on the roof before the door opened up.
"Heh, I was wondering if you would even show" Makoto admitted, as Ren, Ryuji and Ann walked out.
"So, whose heart do you want us to change?" Ann asked, crossing her arms.
Makoto and Haru looked at each other for a moment before Haru looked up "We need you to change the heart of a Mafia Boss."
"A-A Mafia boss!" Ann blinked in surprise.
"F-For real?!" Ryuji gulped, also surprised.
"From what we've gathered, they're the ones behind a new kind of scam and he's good enough that not even the police or heroes can get to him" Makoto explained.
"He apparently tricks people into helping him in his scam, then blackmails them and their family into bankruptcy." Haru explained "Not only that but the people that were working for him get more and more sick the longer they go without paying him."
"Probably a Quirk he's using to make sure they stay in line…" Ren guessed crossing his arms.
"What's worse is, they're unrelenting. They'll force you to take part in these scams and if the health thing doesn't work, they'll threaten your family and even destroy your life…" Makoto finished as Ryuji stepped back.
"Holy shit…" Ryuji gulped, looking honestly shocked.
"Some of our students in this school are victims to it and as we said before, some of them were even taken to a hospital." Haru told them.
"So what we looked up was true…" Ann muttered, looking down.
"...Do you have the boss's name? Or know anything about him?" Ren asked, crossing his arms.
"Like we said yesterday, we couldn't find anything about him. Any students we do ask are being threatened and none of them are willing to make any statements. That's why the police are having trouble and a job like this isn't part of a heroes jurisdiction, so they can't step in." Makoto explained.
"That's where you want us to start" Ann frowned.
"Hmm, are you saying you can't pull it off. You are the righteous Phantom Thieves after all." Makoto asked, turning her head "Just kidding, like we said, we're to help you all in any way that we can."
"...Okay, then do you have a name of the students that have been working under them?" Ren asked, making the two of them blink.
"Ah! Yes, I have it right here." Haru nodded, handing him a list of the students names "A lot of them are either at home or the hospital though."
"Which means not all of them are." Ren said, taking out his phone "Ryuji, come with me."
"Huh? Uh sure" Ryuji nodded, as they walked towards the door.
"Don't tell me you're going to go and interrogate them?" Makoto asked, crossing her as Ren smirked.
"Not exactly~" Ren smirked, as they walked back into the building.
"Okay so what did you want me to do?" Ryuji asked, with a raised eyebrow as Ren gave him the sheet and his phone.
"I need you and Yusuke to look up these names in the Nav, if they have a place in Mementos then maybe you could ask their Shadow's about info on this guy." Ren explained.
"Ooh! Nice thinking Joker, the shadow's would be way more eager to tell their secrets" Morgana grinned.
"Yeah! I'll be sure to find something." Ryuji nodded, as he turned around and walked down to the stairs while Ren opened the door again.
The scene then froze, before it rushed on ahead into the future where Ren was being interrogated.
"The Student Council President…from Shujin Academy?" Sae repeated, looking shocked "Are you saying that Makoto was sticking her nose in this Phantom Thief business?"
"You're acting like you never noticed a sudden change in your sister's behaviour during this time, how stressed and lost she was?" Ren asked, as Sae remained silent.
"Why would Makoto…" she muttered, before shaking her head "I get it…bringing up my sister to upset me, are you? It seems there's no limit to your duplicity."
"Keeping yourself nice and safe in denial then, fine. Allow me to continue the story" Ren sighed "After that we began our investigation, Haru went to investigate the newspaper club to see about any rumours, Ann went to check in on the victim while Makoto and I went to see about the student's friend who knew about it."
"And through that, we discovered the fact that it was only a 10 minute job that involved slipping a letter into a box at the right time. Not hard to piece together what was inside." Ren pointed out.
"The Drugs…" Sae repeated.
"Right on the money, so I decided to ask the victim about it. Pretending that I was interested in the job and eventually convinced him to tell me what he knew, but as he was talking I happened to notice a strange Tattoo on his wrist, one of Mosquito."
"A Tattoo…now that you mention it, all of the goons working under Kaneshiro had a similar mark…we thought it was just some insignia but why would they put it on their victims" She asked as Ren smirked.
"That's what we need to find out, so we decided to make our way to Shibuya to investigate."
Back in the past
Shibuya
Third person P.O.V.
Later on in the day we see the 4 students walking up to the crowded streets of Shibuya after gathering together and combining the information they got.
While they could not find any of the victims in Mementos, Yusuke did indeed discover rumours about a high paying job in Shibuya that was supposedly easy, confirming that the criminals' hunting grounds were in Shibuya.
So the Phantom Thieves decided that they would stage a meeting with these criminals,each one taking a different part of Shibuya to up their odds in running into one while making sure not to tell Makoto and Haru just incase they would object.
So now Ren was walking down the street, having asked a few of the people around like Iwai, a bodyguard for a club he had befriended and some of the homeless people around if they had seen anything suspicious.
"We could wind up dealing with the actual mafia, stay sharp and be ready for anything" Morgana warned Ren as he looked around.
"Man this is so annoying!" Ren heard, glancing over at a pair of cops talking to each other "So many have been victimized already but there's hardly been any sign of them. What's worse is they pop when we least expect and then disappear right after, we can't even tell the difference between those guys and regularly school kids."
"I understand but quit complaining and go ask likely looking people." The other officer ordered as Ren walked past them before hearing another conversation.
"What do you say, we're holding a little exhibition just down the way/ Want to check it out? We brought too much inventory but we haven't managed to sell it all yet" A salesman said to a couple of students "If we go home with this much stock our bosses would get mad at us, we'll give you a discount I promise."
"Hmm, just a sales pitch…not what we're looking for" Ren sighed, walking ahead.
"Hey Ren, behind you." Morgana said, making Ren raise an eyebrow before he turned around.
"You've gotta be kidding me" Ren frowned, spotting Makoto in front of a book store reading something "She sticks out like a sore thumb, does she actually think she's hiding or something."
"Best to lose her, we don't want her to get involved with this." Morgana suggested, with Ren nodding walking ahead.
"A-Ah!" Makoto yelped, about to follow him before the clerk came out.
"Hey! Are you going to buy that or not!" he yelled, making her blink as she realised she still had the manga.
"AH! I'm so sorry!" She apologised quickly for paying for the manga while Ren walked off.
"What are we gonna do with her? All she's drawing attention to herself" Morgana asked, as Makoto continued following Ren while hiding her face in the manga as they turned into an alleyway "Should we go and ditch her."
"Nah, it'll be too risky. Might as well let her in on…huh?" Ren blinked, as a blonde guy walked up to Makoto.
"Hey there miss, yeah you over there!" A blonde guy in a hawaiian shirt asked, walking up to Makoto.
"What do you want?" Makoto asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"Whoa, is that the new sunday issue? Man, I haven't read that stuff in awhile. You a fan?" The guy asked, as Ren watched from a far.
"Is she…" Morgana asked, while Ren crossed his arms.
"Oh yeah, she is definitely getting hit on…guess I can't just stand by" he sighed, walking towards them.
"So yeah, if you don't have anything going on right now, can we talk? See, I was wondering. Do you feel like you're getting enough allowance from your parents?" He asked, making Makoto raise an eyebrow.
"Huh?" She blinked, as she realised what was happening.
"I bet you don't, There's so much stuff we need right? Money for study guides and money for hanging out with friends. Life ain't cheap, y'know." He said, raising his hands causing Ren to stop.
'That Tattoo…' he muttered, noticing the familiar Mosquito Tattoo on the man's wrist.
"So how about picking up a part time job, I know this really good one. Pay's well and it's super easy too!"
"Oh really, now that sounds interesting" They heard, as Ren walked up to them.
"Huh? Who are you?" The guy asked, as Makoto turned to him.
"Amamiya…" She sighed with relief as the guy blinked.
"Oh, I get it. You're boyfriend right? Then well same difference." The guy smiled, turning to Ren "Hey Pal, you interested in a sweet job! It only takes a few minutes, I promose."
"Hmm maybe, I have-" "What sorts of things would we do for this 'sweet job' specifically?" Makoto quickly cut Ren off making him blink.
"Oh it's super easy, totally simple! All it is, is a simple delivery job simple as that" He explained, as Makoto crossed her arms.
"Makoto, don't-" "A delivery hm, you wouldn't happen to be asking us to carry anything dangerous, like say drugs?"
'That idiot!' Ren and Morgana thought, as the guy started laughing.
"Haha, that's a funny one, miss!"
"You aren't answering my question" Makoto asked, making the guy go silent before he moved in close.
"Excuse me? Are you trying to imply something babe? What's your problem huh?"
"E-Eh, I-I um." Makoto stammered, trying to figure out what to say before Ren stood in front of her.
"Okay, I think that's about enough of that." Ren said standing in between "Now I know your first instinct is to kick my ass…but I wouldn't recommend it, after all there are some police just around the corner from here and one bang from my Gun quirk is sure to get them running."
"Tch, screw this crap. I'm outta here" The man scoffed, turing around and walking off.
"Wait, if I do say I'm interested in this part time job, will the employer himself directly interview me?" Makoto asked, as Ren frowned at her.
"Meh, forget you two. I'm gonna go and find someone else" He scoffed, walking off.
"I think it's safe to say that he was part of the Mafia we're looking for" Makoto said, as Ren crossed his arms "But to think he would dodge all the traps I tried laying for him."
"Maybe because all of them we're so freakin obvious" Ren sighed, rolling his eyes.
"And you thought you could do better?" She asked, crossing her arms.
"Well I was planning on getting the job and going undercover working for them until i found the Bosses name." Ren explained.
"So if some of what you're story said was true…then a name is a crucial part of the process." Makoto noted.
"Exactly, can't change a heart if we don't know who we're changing" Ren told her.
"But don't you think it's risky? I mean you could get in some real trouble if you get found out" Makoto told him as Ren crossed his arms.
"...I'm already risking my future just doing this but if it means helping others then it doesn't matter what happens to me" Ren told her walking ahead.
"Wait!"
"Hmm?" Ren wondered, turning around as Makoto looked at him.
"...Thank you…for helping me back there…and for doing all of this…I didn't consider just how much you'd be putting on the line for this…"
Ren looked back at Makoto for a moment before sighing "No problem, I can't just not do something when someone needs help after all…"
Makoto watched as Ren walked off with a raised eyebrow before also making her way back.
Karaoke Bar
Third person P.O.V.
"Ugh! We've been searching all day! And still nothing!" Ryuji groaned, as the Phantom Thieves sat around a Karaoke room.
"Shibuya isn't the smallest place in the world you know" Ann pointed out, making Ryuji frown.
"I know that! But it feels like we won't get anywhere with this" Ryuji told her.
"I hear you and the Student Council President managed to find one?" Yusuke asked, looking over at Ren.
"Yeah, but didn't exactly go well. Heh, maybe we should have just tied him up and interrogated him all Batman style" Ren joked, but Ryuji looked like he liked the idea "I'm kidding."
"W-Wha! Psh, I-I totally knew that" Ryuji stuttered while the otters sweatdropped.
"He's part of a criminal syndicate! Doing something like that would be way too dangerous" Ann frowned, crossing her arms.
"Ugh! The Police can't find them, the Net has tons of info but none of it is specific or reliable! God! What are we supposed to do next!" Ryuji groaned, before flopping back on the couch "If only we had someone we could just go and ask to find all of this out for us."
'Someone we could ask…maybe…' Ren mused, tapping his chin before shaking 'No! No way am I asking that bastard for help.'
"How about those two journalists we met outside of Yusuke's?" Ren suggested "I've seen and chatted with them from time to time around the station and I still have their business cards. I could try and get in contact with them."
"Ooh, that's not a bad idea, but do you think we can trust them?" Ryuji asked, as Ann crossed her arms.
"I'm more worried about whether or not they'll have the info we're looking for." Ann sighed "If only we had others we could check in with."
"Hmm, I might know someone actually" Yusuke said, as Ren reached for his drink.
"You do? Who is it." Morgana asked, looking up at Yusuke.
"The other day I met a detective who was a regular in Leblanc, he asked if he could take a look around my old home to see if he could find anything the police couldn't." Yusuke explained "He helped a lot, found a lot of money my mother was hiding and the deed to the house. If it wasn't for him, the other students wouldn't be renovating it to become a proper art school."
"Huh, what's his name?" Ann asked, while Ren took a sip of his drink.
"Keichiro Kurusu-" "PSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"Woah, dude you okay" Ryuji asked, as Ren coughed a bit.
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine…just didn't think I'd hear that name…" Ren frowned.
"Now that I think about it, wasn't that the same detective that asked us about what happened in Shujin"
"Oh you've got to be kidding me!" Ren groaned, rubbing his head.
"Seriously Ren, how do you know this guy?" Morgana asked, as Ren glanced back at the cat.
"Let's just say he's someone from my hometown I'm not exactly on talking terms with" Ren said "But he is a good source of information so…hah, Yusuke and Ann you to go and talk with him. Me and Ryuji will go and talk with the journalists."
The others nodded as Ren checked his phone and sent a message to them "Alright, well i gotta go now before Sakurai-san get's pissed again."
Ren then grabbed his bag and stood up, making his way towards the door.
"Wait Ren, what did Kurusu-san do to you? From what we've seen he's a really good guy so why are you so mad at him." Ann asked, and the others nodded, also wanting to know.
"Yeah man, if he's as bad as you say he is then we should know! Heck maybe we could change his heart" Ryuji suggested making Ren sigh.
"He didn't do anything" Ren told them before leaving as the others looked at each other worried.
And done the next part, man that was fast but that's what I get for splitting the original chapter in two.
But yeah, we've properly begun the investigation for Kaneshiro's location with Makoto and Haru working alongside them as well.
Not only that but next chapter we'll be getting some more clues on what Keichiro did so look forward to that.
