Atalanta's DNA is something else. She was turned into a lion before assuming by furious Artemis for getting married.

This means that I could take some of these improvements myself without getting some of the characteristics of the animal.
Now with four DNA stored I can cross-reference some things. Magic in general, having magic practising already alters DNA to some extent. While my two strands started developing third one. It could be connected how Artemis has a third one as dense as the other two. While Hippolyta has less so. And Atalanta only has some of it assuming the characteristics of Lion gave some alterations.
The stronger the being is the more developed the third strand is… well that's what I got from four DNA from four different beings altogether.
