He made her laugh more than she thought he would. There were those few times when he'd still been wearing the disguise, his lack of understanding of human idioms and sarcasm doing much to lighten the mood, even though it was unintentional.
Kagome couldn't tell if he did it on purpose, but she had a sneaking suspicion that he emphasized his lack of expertise in the area now that he knew he'd get a reaction out of her. She wished there was a way to get him back, but short of over-the-top impressions, she had no idea how to go about it.
He seemed more content just to observe.
She often wondered how much he saw. The small things he'd noticed about her continued to add up, but he'd done the same with Shippou. Hell, he did the same thing with Inuyasha, but that was more to get under his skin than anything else.
Shippou went hunting with him regularly now, though they didn't always bring back something. Shippou said it was about becoming a man, and Sesshoumaru hadn't contradicted him. She'd asked about it later, but Sesshoumaru had been surprisingly tight-lipped, claiming it was not his business to tell.
He'd looked worried, cheek sliding against hers in silent apology, but Kagome had cupped his face and kissed him soundly. "It's alright. I don't expect you to tell me everything," she said.
His eyes continued to search her face, looking for telltale signs that she was upset like before, and she chuckled softly, one hand sliding to the back of his neck. His brows shot up, hands clenching at his sides. "You have been studying."
She grinned. "Sango taught me." She kept her palm flat against his skin. "Did I get it right?"
