20XX July 3rd
South Island, Green Hill
The breeze is cooler than usual as the hills are green and the animals are running past the blue hedgehog named Sonic the Hedgehog.
Zooming past, Sonic jumps on a ladybug robot called a Motor Bug and leaps off of it by spinning a bunch of flips and then dropkicks a blue flying bee robot, Buzz Bomber until it crashes onto a crab robot that is known as a Crabmeat.
After a Buzz Bomber and a Crabmeat explodes onto each other, both a squirrel and a bird are free as they run off out of panic and freedom.
Another Crabmeat furrows its eyes, snips its claws and charges towards Sonic, leading Sonic to lure a Motor Bug, who was mad, charging as its wheel moves faster than a plane turbine.
"Ah what the heck, you two should kiss." Sonic sighs and hops as both robots crash onto each other, leading to a squirrel and a bunny running and waving towards Sonic.
Sonic smirks while wiping his nuzzle with his thumb, realising there's more to his opponent than meets the eye.
More robots appeared out of nowhere, making Sonic shrug his shoulders and raise his fists.
Hiding behind the tree, an anthropomorphic rabbit is left speechless after seeing a single hedgehog squaring up the robots that are threatening the island and trapping the animals inside.
As the parts are scattered everywhere, the last robot is being hit by Sonic's rolling ball jump as the last animal freed is a bird.
Afterwards, both a squirrel and a bunny hug Sonic as Sonic sighs and picks up the robot parts to place in the bin, only for both animals to leave the field that is a mess.
What stops him is a fabric that is left on the ground, showing an acorn insignia which leads to Sonic pulling a grin, pulling his glove and crouching on fours like an athlete.
"Let's go!" Sonic finally charges forward, only for him to slide as he stumbles onto a certain someone as he exclaims.
"Howdy, stranger." An anthropomorphic rabbit girl in a white shirt and purple overall skirt waves as Sonic becomes flabbergasted.
"Huh? What the?"
"Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you like that." The rabbit girl with a southern accent apologises.
Sonic remains silent while folding his arms and tapping his foot on the grass.
"A- Anyway, you're new here, right?" The rabbit asked.
"Yeah. Why do you ask?" Sonic replies and asks a question.
"Well, you see, the island is in trouble and seeing you manage to beat those badniks, I was wondering if you could join our cause." The rabbit girl offers as Sonic waves his hand and walks past.
"Sorry, but I have a certain man to deal with."
"You mean Dr. Eggman? But he's dangerous." The rabbit warned.
"Even better, he's my playmate." Sonic responds back with a smug grin.
The rabbit can tell this hedgehog is overconfident after destroying the robots called badniks.
Before she warns Sonic, he zooms away as he heads towards a certain location.
While doing that, Sonic encounters a couple of piranha robots called Chopper, causing him to zoom past as it breaks both Choppers apart by the speed as both seals are free and land in the river together.
"Hmph." Sonic rubs his nose and then continues rushing.
Before a chameleon robot called Newtron shows up, it unfortunately sees a Motor Bug flying towards it, causing both robots to explode as it frees a pig and a squirrel as they run off.
As Sonic claps his hands and wipes them together, he stops as he can feel something approaching him.
Then a bang has caused a wall to smash, pushing Sonic towards the capsule as he crashes onto it.
"Hello, Sonic the Hedgehog!" A bald man laughs while his wrecking ball is placed onto his flying machine called the Egg Mobile.
"Tch! Finally showed up, huh, Eggman?" Sonic spits while glaring upwards.
"Still trying to be cocky, are you? You know, I'm surprised that the fastest thing alive is being beaten by my Egg Wrecker. Seems like ignorance is going to lead you to your death, not that I mind." Eggman can tell Sonic's slow reflexes are the reason why he's leaning on a large capsule.
Sonic stands up as Eggman slams a wrecking ball on the ground, preparing to smack Sonic with it.
"Prepare to die!" Eggman finally swings Egg Wrecker, alerting Sonic to dodge and leap as the wrecking ball hits the trees as Sonic bounces on a different tree and dropkicks the Egg Mobile as Eggman shrieks and the growls. "Pesky little rat!" Eggman spins his wrecking ball while charging towards Sonic.
"You're too- Guh!" As Sonic was abruptly cut off by getting smacked towards the stone wall.
"Slow? I know you are, but what am I?" Eggman grins while spinning and then slams the wrecking ball as the walls are smashed apart, causing Sonic to fall and roll as he ends up at a defeated state while crawling back up.
"In the end, you're still Nicky. If you really are Sonic, then maybe you should think fast! Ohohoho!" Laughing, Eggman finally had the upper hand as Sonic slowly picked himself up.
"Kh… Heh, how's that chain holding up? Looks like it's loose." Sonic chuckles weakly while pointing at the loose chain.
After that the chain snaps as Eggman yelps and then growls.
"Grr! Don't count that as your victory, boy, because you're still as weak as always! Farewell, Nicky." Eggman flies away as Sonic watches his playmate leaving him defeated.
Slowly standing up, Sonic comes across the same blonde furred rabbit girl as she helps him stand straight.
"Are you alright, mister?"
"Ngh." Sonic doesn't respond while moving his arm for the rabbit girl to let him go.
"I told you it was dangerous. Just because he was your playmate, doesn't mean he's easy to beat." The rabbit warned him.
"Hmph. You act like you know that egghead." Sonic spat out of contempt.
"That's because he took everything away from us."
Sonic stops after hearing what the rabbit said earlier.
"You're from Hedgehog Town, right? The same thing happened to Southern Baronies. Dr. Eggman is the one responsible for the destruction of other islands as well as taking other people away."
"Did he take away your family or did he kill them?" Sonic asks.
This question shocks the rabbit girl as she heard what Sonic said about her family's status.
"No!"
"Huh?" Sonic stops himself after seeing a rabbit girl crouching down and holding her own head as fear strikes her.
"They're not dead! They're not dead! They're not dead!"
Sonic had been reminded of how he truly felt after remembering what he lost, but was too focused on facing Eggman without thinking as if he was also in denial.
So it's not just one Eggman took away, but many as if he's doing this for his own selfish gains.
Sonic approaches the rabbit and lifts her up with a calm expression, seeing as the girl is a sobbing mess.
"Let's go on an adventure together." Sonic said while helping her stand up.
"R- Really?"
"Yeah. We can go on a run and beat up those badniks. A perfect way to vent yourself and to satisfy my journey to be a cool adventurer." Sonic raises his finger with a grin after wiping the rabbit's tears.
To the rabbit girl's surprise, Sonic, despite being heavily injured and holding a heavy grudge against Eggman, never gives up as he stands and is ready to continue running the fields like he's free like the wind.
The rabbit slowly smiles as she looks into Sonic's eyes, nodding as she wants to go out and find happiness with someone she just met.
"Alrighty. I would love that." The rabbit girl stands back up as she finally calms down. "What's your name, stranger?"
"Just the hedgehog that's going on adventures. I'm Sonic the Hedgehog." Sonic introduces himself with a grin.
"But didn't Dr. Eggman calls you Nicky?" The rabbit girl asks out of confusion.
"Yeah. It was my real name. I wanted to be the cooler version of myself." Sonic sighs after knowing his real name.
"It's alright. We wanted to change for the better. So, Sonic, I was wondering if you could join our cause." The rabbit asks.
Sonic shrugs his shoulders as he's unsure if he could or not.
"Who are you, anyway?" Sonic asks while folding his arms and tapping his foot on the grass.
"Oh! Where are my manners? I'm Bunnie Rabbot. Written as Rab-bot, but was pronounced Rah-bow."
"Bunnie Rah-bow. Hmph. Seems simple enough. So, Bunnie, why are you following me?" Sonic is curious about Bunnie's intrusion.
"That." Pointing at the same large capsule Sonic and Eggman fought around, Bunnie reveals the very thing that contains something inside.
Sonic and Bunnie approach the capsule while climbing onto it, giving Sonic pins and needles from the fight he had.
"You alright there, Mr. Sonic?" Bunnie asks, knowing what has been happening earlier.
"Yeah. I can handle myself, thank you very much." Sonic grunts while standing on top with Bunnie.
Finally, both Sonic and Bunnie press the button on the top as it opens the box, revealing the animals as they fly and run and a thud is heard.
"Huh?" Sonic looks down as he's confused by the noise.
"What's that?" Bunnie hops down along with Sonic as the duo are seeing a figure revealing herself.
In front of Sonic and Bunnie is a brown furred anthropomorphic chipmunk with auburn hair, wearing a blue tube-top and harem pants, making her look like a young princess trapped by Eggman.
"Sal!? Sal!" Bunnie picks up the chipmunk girl's body as she sees her now moving.
Luckily her heart still beats as Bunnie is relieved.
"Thank goodness." Bunnie sighed.
To Sonic's curiosity, he sees a princess that Eggman took which led him to turn around.
"Mr. Sonic, wait. What about Sal?"
Sonic remains silent as he walks forward.
"Westside Island."
"What?" Sonic turns after hearing what Bunnie said earlier.
"Sal's home is on Westside Island. If we go there, we need to steal Dr. Eggman's gadgets."
"Hmph. Looks like we're going to barge right in." Sonic's grin returns until he collapses.
"Mr. Sonic! Hey! Hey! Get up! Mr. Sonic!" Bunnie hastily shakes Sonic after picking him up in a similar fashion to the chipmunk.
Sonic is now losing consciousness after taking a few heavy beatings from Eggman.
Now Bunnie is left with 2 bodies that needed some care after what happened earlier.
Although Sonic is unconscious, he's still eager to go out and face Eggman once again.
A few hours later, grunting as Sonic opens his eyes, shaking his head and then looking at himself covered in the head, chest and arms and a leg in bandages.
To his curiosity, he sees the same chipmunk that is still in slumber, leading him to sit and look at her.
Could it be the emblem that is related to the girl that looks like a princess?
Sonic stands up as he sees Bunnie peeling the apples while humming.
Sonic walks out while seeing a sunny blue sky and then sits next to Bunnie.
"You're awake, Mr. Sonic. Thank goodness you're okay." Bunnie is relieved to see Sonic up as Sonic watches her peeling apples.
Sonic looks at the sky silently as he sees the birds flying pass by.
"I'm sorry for hurting you like that."
"Hm?" Sonic is confused about Bunnie's apology as he looks at her.
"It's 'cause I led you to get hurt by Dr. Eggman and now I made you feel sympathy for me. I know you lost everything and I made you feel sorry for me." Bunnie lowers her head after finishing peeling the apple and then coddles herself out of self pity.
"Don't be." Sonic speaks out calmly.
"Huh?"
"We're both in the wrong. I just let the past get to me. But I won't stop. Maybe you shouldn't as well." Sonic says while picking up an unpeeled apple and bites it.
"For a man like you, I guess you're wiser than I thought." Bunnie giggles.
"Huh? But I'm 10 years old." Sonic reveals his age.
"Oh! I'm sorry! Where are my manners!? That means I'm older than you!" Bunnie exclaimed as she bows out of apology.
This made Sonic laugh as he can tell Bunnie is a kid like him.
"I'm 13, so that means I'll be your big sister." Bunnie blushes after revealing her age.
"Heh. I guess." Sonic blushes while rubbing his head, embarrassed to admit that he wanted a family.
As Sonic finishes an apple, Bunnie hands him another one as Sonic bites it and grins.
With Sonic and Bunnie starting to know each other, they laugh together while eating fruits together.
The journey begins as Sonic prepares himself to get stronger and faster if Eggman wants to see the real Sonic.
