Tony simply shook his head with a smile and changed direction, flying off to another location. From high above, it was clear that the guy in the red and silver outfit could easily handle those thugs. He couldn't care less about such nonsense.
...
"Spill it! Where's Kingpin that bastard?"
Hode grabbed the thug, whose face was covered in tear tattoos, by the collar and slammed him against the side of a car. The thug's face pressed hard against the window, and the force of it elicited pitiful whines from him.
"I don't know what you're talking about! Let go! It hurts..." The thug gritted his teeth and shouted impatiently at Hode. Even though he knew where Kingpin was, revealing that would mean certain death for him. Kingpin was the emperor of the underworld; even just thinking about it made him aware of the stakes.
"Hey, can't you just cooperate?" Hode sighed helplessly, his expression suddenly turning fierce as he lifted the thug and slammed him hard onto the hood of the car.
"Hiss!" The thug curled up in pain, his whole body trembling uncontrollably. Just that one hit made him feel as if his insides were being crushed.
"Huff huff..." He gasped for breath, his face already showing the blood-red lines of pain.
"Still keeping your mouth shut? No problem, I have time." Hode looked at the thug without any sympathy; he didn't feel inclined to show any, especially since this guy had done plenty of harm to others. The tattoos on his face told that story—he had killed at least three people.
Before the thug could speak, Hode gripped his hand tightly and squeezed.
Crack!*
"Ahhh! I'll talk! I'll talk!" The thug was losing his mind; he couldn't comprehend how such a terrifying person had appeared here. Moreover, his methods were far more brutal than he had imagined; he genuinely felt like he would die if he didn't spill the beans.
"Was that so hard?" Hode asked impatiently, realizing that the thug was wasting his time.
"Mr. Kingpin is at an abandoned FBA warehouse in the outskirts. He... he has an important transaction there today," the thug whined, spilling out everything he knew.
"Excellent, you're being very cooperative!" Hode smirked, suddenly raising his hand to strike the thug's chin hard. The thug's eyes rolled back, and he collapsed in a clean faint.
Actually, getting information from the thug wasn't that complicated. After all, he possessed the power of the Phoenix, which could easily compel the truth from anyone. He just wanted to test his strength against the thug, so he opted for this method of interrogation.
"By the way, how long do you plan to stay up here?" Hode asked, stretching his shoulders as he turned casually towards the five-story building in front of him.
Bang!*
A white figure leaped into the air, flipping once and landing lightly on the ground.
"How did you find me?" Gwen asked in amazement, staring at the mysterious figure before her. Although she had just arrived, her movements were unusually light, so she shouldn't have been detected. Furthermore, her concealment abilities were strong, yet this person had pinpointed her location without even looking.
"Maybe I'm just sensitive to sound, Ms. Spider-Woman," Hode replied with a soft laugh, scrutinizing Gwen before adding, "So, Ms. Spider-Woman, what are you snooping around for?"
"Snooping? I'm gathering intelligence!" Gwen awkwardly kicked at some gravel with her right foot and asked, "Hey, Unicorn, if you're going after Kingpin, can I join you?"
"Why are you calling me Unicorn?" Hode asked in surprise.
"Don't you have a big horn?" Gwen pointed at his large horn.
"I'm actually a horned beetle," Hode said, leaning against a nearby car and lazily asking, "Aren't you afraid I'm the bad guy?"
The girl was quite audacious; just after a brief encounter, she was ready to team up.
"As long as you're an enemy of Kingpin, you're a friend," Gwen answered resolutely, her voice firm.
"You have a grudge against Kingpin?" Hode hadn't expected that Spider-Woman from this world would have a vendetta against him.
"He..."
"Well, are you going or not?" Gwen hesitated, on the verge of revealing her reasons but ultimately held back.
"Fine!" Hode didn't press her further; he could sense the sadness in her tone just now. Besides, he figured that even if he didn't go, Gwen would still head there anyway. In a direct confrontation, Gwen was likely not a match for Kingpin. If he remembered correctly, Kingpin's strength could overpower Spider-Man.
He walked over to the motorcycle, turned around, and sat on it. "Spider-Woman, hop on!"
Hode waved to Gwen, who was standing some distance away.
"No thanks, I..." Gwen shook her head, about to refuse, but then heard Hode say, "It's all low buildings; are you sure you can keep up with me?"
Upon hearing this, Gwen looked around Hell's Kitchen... Indeed, in Hell's Kitchen, swinging by webbing was essentially a pipe dream. After much hesitation, she decided to climb onto Hode's motorcycle.
...
...
...
Outside an abandoned factory in the outskirts, overgrown with trees.
The large factory emitted a faint yellow glow. From its exterior, it looked like a lumber mill. Although light was scarce, it was still possible to see numerous shadows patrolling around the factory, and each was equipped with firearms.
"Shh..."
Hode stopped the motorcycle at a distance, signaling Gwen to be quiet. He then waved his right hand over the motorcycle, revealing a blue serpentine pattern on the back of his hand.
In an instant, the motorcycle vanished.
"Where did the motorcycle go?! It was just here!" Gwen's eyes nearly popped out at this sight.
Just now, the motorcycle was clearly right in front of me!
And the most important thing is, I didn't feel any vibrations at all.
Who on earth is this guy?!
"What's wrong? Are you curious?"
Hode turned his head to look at Gwen as he asked.
"Of course."
Gwen nodded seriously.
If I could also have that ability, my fighting power would definitely rise by more than one level.
"If you want to learn, I'll teach you later."
Hode initially wanted to ruffle that adorable little head, but he ultimately restrained his impulse.
"Teach me later?"
Even though Hode was wearing a mask and his voice sounded different, coming off a bit muffled, Gwen couldn't shake the feeling that this statement sounded so familiar.
"I feel like I've heard this somewhere before..."
