After more than ten days of research, Ye Hai discovered Spider-Man's secret: Peter didn't just become Spider-Man by chance; it was due to his father's influence.

Through his studies, Ye Hai found that animal genes and human genes represent two distinct species' genetics that conflict with each other. When humans receive injections of animal genes, they merely revert to an animal form, much like how Dr. Connors turned into a lizard-man. To maintain a human form, one must adapt animal genes to human genes. The solution lies in cultivating animal genes. This cultivation method involves using the genetic material of the user as a template while pre-selecting the animal genes intended for fusion. Only after the animals mature can their genetic material be harvested for medicinal use.

This technology had been perfected over a decade ago by Richard Parker, Peter's father. Richard Parker cultivated a special kind of spider based on his son's genes, allowing the spider to continuously evolve and improve. After more than ten years, he finally succeeded in creating the special spider. At just the right moment, Peter went to Oscorp Tower, where he was bitten by the special spider, resulting in the seamless fusion of the spider's genes into Peter's body.

Peter's ability to become Spider-Man was essentially the outcome of his father's scientific research, which had unwittingly put Oscorp at a disadvantage for over a decade. Oscorp invested a lot of effort into cultivating these spiders, only to inadvertently create a resource for someone else. The genes of these special spiders, being based on Peter, would only affect him; anyone else who used them would turn into a monster.

Ye Hai deduced this after discovering the method for the perfect fusion of animal and human genes, piecing together various clues. He was confident that he was almost entirely correct.

"Ding! The host has discovered the method for the perfect fusion of animal and human genes. Task completed, reward: 10,000 science points."

Upon uncovering Spider-Man's secret, the system issued a completion notification.

Hearing the system's voice, Ye Hai could only smile wryly. While he fully understood the method to fuse animal and human genes, the problem was that achieving this required animal cultivation, much like Peter's father did, and that typically took a long time—often ten to twenty years.

Ye Hai simply couldn't afford to invest that much time into creating a Spider-Man when he could instead research mutant genes. Mutants are still humans, and their genetics wouldn't conflict with those of ordinary people.

Thinking of mutants excited Ye Hai; so many of their abilities made him salivate. Abilities like Wolverine's regeneration, which grants immortality, Professor X's telepathy, Storm's ability to manipulate weather, among countless others.

With the issue of perfect gene fusion resolved, Ye Hai felt as if he had stumbled upon treasure, able to easily integrate mutant genes without much effort. Much like the Sentry robots, he could conveniently blend in mutant genes.

As these thoughts ran through his mind, Ye Hai couldn't help but laugh heartily, his excitement bubbling over, no longer troubled by the idea of becoming another Spider-Man.

"Where is the mutant academy? If I could just get some samples of mutant blood, that would be fantastic," Ye Hai muttered regretfully.

"Mutants?" Gwen, who had been paying attention to Ye Hai, immediately chimed in, "Are you interested in those creatures?"

"Of course," Ye Hai nodded enthusiastically. "Just look at all the strange abilities mutants possess—they can fly, breathe fire, turn invisible, and even achieve immortality. If we could harness such incredible powers, humanity would undergo a tremendous evolution!"

Gwen, however, disagreed with his perspective. She shook her head and said, "But mutants are very dangerous. They often act outside the law, recklessly damaging societies, and frequently harm ordinary people. People despise them..."

Ye Hai frowned slightly. "This is a process of two species struggling to coexist—a process of misunderstanding and mistrust that ultimately leads to conflict and even war. Such things are inevitable. As scientists, we shouldn't concern ourselves with questions of social ethics; what we need to focus on is the extraordinary capabilities of this unique species."

Gwen smiled and said, "If you're interested in mutant genes, you can go to the biological repository and collect some samples for research."

"What did you say? Oscorp has mutant blood?" Ye Hai exclaimed, his eyes lighting up.

Gwen smirked and replied, "Oscorp is one of the world's leading biological research enterprises, so it's only natural we would have samples of these strange creatures. Now that you are a level-one researcher at Oscorp, you have the right to view these materials."

"That's fantastic, Gwen! Let's head to the biological repository right away!"

Ye Hai eagerly urged Gwen to take him there. To be honest, even though he had spent several days at Oscorp, he was still unfamiliar with the building due to being so focused on his research.

Fortunately, with Gwen as his assistant, they easily entered the biological repository.
