Suddenly, his phone rang. Ye Hai answered the call; it was Osborne's artificial intelligence, the Xuan Nu. Her crisp, cold voice came through the line.

"Master, there is new information about the Black man you asked me to observe."

Ye Hai asked, "What happened?"

"The Black man, Max, who was burned to a crisp, has come back to life, but his body has undergone significant mutations. He can now absorb electricity from his surroundings. The power in the Osborne Industrial Building was drained by over two thousand volts in just one minute."

"Oh, thankfully, Osborne is a large corporation, so they won't be too affected by this loss of electricity, haha." Ye Hai joked, then turned his gaze to the video on his phone. "Xuan Nu, send me his movements."

"Yes, Master!" Soon, Ye Hai's phone screen flickered, displaying the scene of the Osborne Building. A very peculiar figure appeared on the screen.

The figure resembled a human but had veins visibly coursing across its body, weaving through like an electric grid. Its body emitted a blue glow like that of a light bulb, occasionally accompanied by flickers of electricity.

This was Electro, looking much like his portrayal in the movies.

Seeing this figure made Ye Hai's heart race with excitement; a new research subject had emerged, and interesting developments were bound to follow.

"Mr. Coulson, I have some other matters to attend to, so I will take my leave."

Ye Hai exchanged pleasantries with the agent and then darted into a dark corner. His body suddenly expanded into the form of the scientific doctor he had assumed previously. In a flash, he soared into the sky, slicing through the air like a fighter jet, creating a thunderous roar as he quickly vanished.

Gwen witnessed this entire process, her eyes wide in astonishment. She knew Ye Hai could fly, but witnessing it firsthand, the power and grace he displayed truly embarrassed and amazed her. She resolved to ask Ye Hai about acquiring the gene that allowed him to fly, should the opportunity arise.

"That's incredible, isn't it?" Gwen couldn't help but exclaim.

Phil, however, chuckled wryly. As a government official, he wasn't particularly fond of individuals who acted independently and often disregarded government directives. However, such individuals tended to be quite formidable, and governing authorities were typically reluctant to offend them, as long as their actions didn't escalate too far.

As Ye Hai flew effortlessly through the air, he enjoyed the freedom of movement but was cautious of going too fast, fearing his clothes might catch fire. He had to control his speed to avoid "going commando."

"If I were to end up naked, what would the citizens of New York say? They'd probably call me the Naked Superhero, haha... But I can't always rely on this. It looks like I need to create a uniform that can withstand my speeds."

While pondering such thoughts, he suddenly dove down, arriving above the Osborne Building. The sky was now quite dark, and aside from some security personnel, there seemed to be no other employees. Well, that wasn't entirely accurate—there was also Electro.

Electro had just regained consciousness minutes ago and was still disoriented, confused about the glowing condition of his body, feeling both strange and terrified. He had no idea how he had become this way or how he could survive in human society under these conditions.

Filled with fear and sadness, as well as anger over this inexplicable transformation, Electro's violent emotions grew stronger. As his anger intensified, the electricity from surrounding wires began to stray from its usual paths, surging into Electro's body. He absorbed the currents like a charger, feeling fulfilled and satisfied; every cell of his body buzzed with renewed energy and vitality.

Due to unstable voltage, the lights in Osborne began flickering erratically before finally going out entirely, plunging the building into darkness.

With the sudden loss of the electric currents, that wonderful sense of fullness vanished as well, leaving Electro feeling lost. However, as an electrical engineer, he realized that the Osborne Building had just tripped a circuit breaker. He made his way to the top of the building, where the main circuit breaker was located, hoping to continue charging himself.

"Who's there? Who's there?"

Suddenly, security guards rushed in, shouting as they approached, flashlights and truncheons in hand, their beams of light converging on Electro.

The guards were taken aback, horrified, and one shouted, "My God, what kind of monster are you?"

"Monster?" Electro trembled at this word, his gaze falling on a glass window, where a glowing blue figure was illuminated.

Isn't that me? I really do look like a monster.

Covering his face in distress, Electro was engulfed in fear and panic. He turned and ran toward the stairs.

"Stop! You thief, stop! You odd thief in strange clothing, stop right there!"

The guards found their courage and chased after Electro, believing that his glowing appearance was merely due to his bizarre attire.

The relentless pursuit made Electro increasingly agitated. Suddenly, he raised his left hand, and a brilliant electric arc shot through the air, striking one of the guards. That guard convulsed and collapsed to the ground.

The other guards were taken aback, halting in their tracks, no longer daring to pursue.

Electro continued running down to the lower levels, crashing through the glass doors and escaping the Osborne Building.

"I've been waiting for you for a long time, Electric Man!"

Ye Hai descended from the sky, grinning as he looked at Electro.

Electro was his target; he intended to capture him for his research.
