Hey guys, TheDoctor1998 here with another chapter! This time, we're going for SCP-027. Incidentally, this one's also one of the Four Horsemen in the Competitive Eschatology canon, just like Bobble and 053. It wasn't planned this way, but that's just following the path made by cramming a playlist full of SCP videos and setting it in chronological order.
Now, on with the show!

Dr. Nori appeared on the screen again. "Good afternoon everyone, my name is Dr. Nori, and today we're going to be studying SCP-027, AKA the Vermin God."
Niffty started grinning like the madwoman she is. "The god of all vermin? It'll be the masterpiece of my collection!"
"Seriously, did that little thing get lobotomized when she was alive or something?!" Adam screeched, refusing to come down from the chandelier as long as the little gremlin was there.
Item #: SCP-027
Containment Class: Euclid
Secondary Class: None
Disruption Class: Vlam
Risk Class: (Stricken through: Caution) Warning
Once again, the audience turned towards God, who quickly explained the new classes. "Euclid Class SCPs are either not fully known or inherently unpredictable, such as people with anomalous abilities. Think of them as the grey area between Safe SCPs and Keter SCPs. If they're left on their own, it wouldn't be possible to fully predict what they will do."
"And the Warning Class?" Charlie asked her grandfather.
"Like Caution Class objects, Warning Class objects would likely cause some kind of negative effect on those interacting with it. The difference is, however, that the effects of a Warning Class can be irreversible, even if it won't directly kill you."
Special Containment Procedures: The host of SCP-027 (currently subject 027-02) is to be kept i containment cell with a grated, raised floor connected to a strong vacuum system. All creatures removed from the Subject's containment cell are to be incinerated, except for a small portion to be diverted for analysis and necropsy. The cell is to be cleaned and inspected for structural damage daily.
"Wait, host?" Lucifer asked with some level of disgust. He was aware of the concept of parasites. Hell, he was there when some of the first ones were created, and they always made him feel icky. "Don't tell me…"
God gave no reply, other than motioning his son to keep watching.
Subject 027-02 must be monitored by at least two personnel at all times. Any unusual behavior or vital signs on the part of the subject or the appearance of any unusual species in the subject's vicinity must immediately be reported to Level 4 personnel.
Security personnel assigned to SCP-027 must be inoculated against all known animal-borne pathogens and must be armed with tranquilizer guns, with standing orders to subdue the subject if the need arises.
Until SCP-027 is better understood, no personnel of Level 4 Clearance or higher should approach within 200 m of the Subjects.
"Well, they don't call it the Vermin God for nothing." Angel tried to joke.
"So I'm guessing you're feeling like you need to worship it?" Alastor grinned.
"Hey! Up yours, you old-timey deer-faced asshole!" The Sinner responded, giving the Overlord the quadruple bird.
Description: SCP-027 appears to be a phenomenon of unknown source that seems to be tied to one human subject (currently 027-02) at a time. As host to SCP-027, Subject 027-02 is constantly surrounded by swarming vermin that are drawn to his location. The Subject does not appear able to assert control over these creatures in any way, and is in fact prone to occasional attacks from feral specimens. These creatures have also been known to attack personnel who approach too closely.
Various looks of disgust appeared on the audience, though one of fear passed Sera's. Like with Bobble, its power was familiar, though watered down. And seeing the image of the poor guy who had this curse, she recognized a faint glimmer of power. "Famine." She breathed, remembering the twisted angel who could command swarms of vermin and cause sources of food to die off and rot.
Wherever the Subject goes, an initial swarm of flying insects such as gnats and flies will start to form a cloud around him, usually within two to three minutes. Shortly thereafter, crawling animals (including lice, cockroaches, worms, spiders, [DATA EXPUNGED], mice, and rats) will begin to appear; the longer the subject remains in a location, the more vermin will gather there. When the subject leaves a location, some of these creatures will follow, but most will disperse.
"That's got to be one of the grossest things I've ever seen." Lucifer cringed. "And I once saw a Sinner with the power to vomit whenever he wanted and control it like a weapon."
"Wait, what?" Emily asked, both curious and disgusted.
"Sinners can do some crazy things, my dear." Pentious said. "Though, powers such as these tend to be more controlled, and don't tend to attack the user."
SCP-027 has been known to transfer between hosts once, upon the death of the first known host, Subject 027-01 (see Appendix 1 for more information). Since SCP-027 could likely repeat this feat upon the death of Subject 027-02, all high-value personnel should be kept away from the current host until more about SCP-027 is understood. SCP-027 has also likely transferred between hosts an unknown number of times before containment. Research into potential previous hosts has commenced, with preliminary evidence suggesting that SCP-027 may have existed for at least XXX years.
"Fucking hell." Adam cringed, a strange look crossing the mask that mimicked his facial expressions.
"Sir?" Lute asked, noting the strange behavior.
"Just feeling bad for the guy, you know." The First Man shrugged.
"You? Feel bad for someone? Now I know the status quo of the past ten millennia has changed." Lucifer snarked.
"Up yours, asshole!" Adam snarled. "Just because I don't give a shit about any fucker that was tossed down here doesn't mean I can't feel sympathy for others!"
It is not yet known how SCP-027 chooses or attracts animals, or even what SCP-027 exactly is. The previous host never expressed having any sort of communication with a separate conscious entity; analysis of the current host has been inconclusive at best.
"Perhaps he's not aware of what he's doing." Sera mumbled to herself, though Emily heard her, and started growing suspicious of her sister once more.
Appendix 1: Timeline of Significant Events
04/XX/199X: Subject 027-01 is discovered in an abandoned warehouse outside XXXXXXX, XX, that had been completely overrun by rats, cockroaches, and other vermin, and is contained and cataloged as SCP-027. The subject is described as a Caucasian male in his late thirties, of average height but gaunt, filthy, and covered in bites and scratches. The subject also shows symptoms of degraded mental health, evidence of heavy use of alcohol and illicit drugs, and signs of prolonged sleep deprivation.
Angel winced at that. "Yeah, I get that guy. When life kicks you in the nuts over and over again, drugs and booze start to look really tempting."
"Yup." Husk said simply, taking a sip from his flask.
10/XX/200X: Subject expires. Autopsy shows more than 70% of the subject's body [DATA EXPUNGED] a colony of rats nesting in the subject's abdomen for at least XX generations.
Sounds of puking were heard all over the room, mostly from Charlie and Emily. They did not need to know that.
10/XX/200X: Between 140 and 150 hours after the Subject's death, Security Officer KXXXXXX FXXXXX reports being awoken by breathing problems due to a large housefly having crawled up his nose (later shown to have lain eggs). Subsequent observations lead to categorization of Officer FXXXXX as Subject 027-02, the original host is reclassified as Subject 027-02, and SCP-027 is redefined.
[DATA EXPUNGED]
"Well, that explains its change in classification." Pentious muttered.
"How so?" Cherri Bomb asked, a tad green.
"Simple, my dear." Pentious started. "Before, they thought the previous poor chap who was a victim of the anomaly was the anomaly himself, and thus the only danger he posed was something that could be cured. Namely, the bites and such from the vermin around him. But now it's clear that they can't reverse the damage once you become the host, necessitating a change in classification."
Appendix 2: Transcript of Interview 027-201
The following interview was conducted on 10/XX/200X, shortly after Subject 027-02 was identified and transferred to the containment cell that had housed Subject 027-01.
Dr. Jameson: Good morning, Officer FXXXXX. How are you feeling?
Subject 027-02: Scared. Confused. Mostly scared though
J: Understandable….
S: And itchy. I feel like I need to shower all the damn time.
"Yeah, I feel like I need a shower just from seeing this." Vaggie muttered, feeling a mixture of disgust and pity.
J: Ah. But what about, um, inside? Do you feel anything different inside you, like a… presence?
S: [thinks, scratches his head] No, I don't think I do. I haven't really noticed anything like that.
J: You haven't felt anything different since the original host died, besides the itching?
S: No, I can't say I have.
"Perhaps that's for the best." Sera muttered to herself, not wanting Famine to awaken again. The resurgence of War in her new form and Death's steed having cheated death again spelled enough of a disaster as it was.
J: What about any sort of voices, or compulsions–
S: [agitated] No, I haven't felt anything except bugs crawling all over me! I feel dirty, and scared, and… Doc, what about my family? You gotta get this thing out of me so I can see them again!
J: Of… of course. We're going to do everything we can to get 027 out of you. God, I… I'm sorry, KXXXXXX….
Another pang of sympathy rang out in Charlie. In her disgust at the situation she almost forgot that this K guy was a colleague of these Foundation guys, so this wasn't just any ordinary person they plucked off the street. This was a friend who was suffering from a horrific curse, simply because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Note: Shortly after this interview took place, Dr. Jameson and several other members of the research team for SCP-027 were transferred to the SCP-1772 project.
"What?!" Emily exclaimed. "Why would they do that?!"
"Because they were emotionally attached to the host of the anomaly, my dear." Alastor answered. "I think that these O5's are worried that their efforts to free mister F from his misery would end up causing the destruction of the Vermin God, and from what I've gathered, they're more concerned with securing, containing, and protecting anomalies than the people that work for them."
"Would it be so bad to destroy this thing?" Lute snarled. "They were more than happy to try and kill 682."
"682 is the exception, not the rule." God said. "They've found that attempting to destroy an anomaly could cause more harm than good, so until they know for certain if the current host could be saved without causing a disaster, they won't do anything."
Dr. Nori appeared on the screen again. "And that's SCP-027, an unfortunate curse of some kind that transfers to a new host whenever the previous host dies. Thank you all for listening, if you still are, and goodbye."
"Well, that's a bummer." Angel said simply.
Dr. Nori was shown observing Subject 027-02 via camera. "When did the scorpions start appearing?"
"Sometime last week." Dr. Jameson replied. "I think the first one hitched a ride from that MTF team we sent to northern Africa."
"And it somehow managed to reproduce without a partner." Nori sighed. "What do you think, natural mutation or an effect of 027?"
Jameson simply shrugged.
"Oh well." Nori sighed again. "At least we managed to get rid of those ones."
Once everyone managed to make sure they weren't about to vomit again, they started talking once more. "So, any ideas on how to help him?" Charlie asked.
"I dunno Charlie." Her father sighed. "While I do want to help, I can feel this is something that even I would struggle with. I don't know why, but I just do."
Once silence came across the room again, God spoke up. "Well, I think it's about time to view the next one." He hit the shuffle mode again, showing the next file.
SCP-058

And that's a wrap. Bit quicker to write the entire thing this time, but I think I did okay. And like before, this SCP was one of the Four Horsemen or a steed in the Competitive Eschatology canon, so I referenced that one here.
