It is recommended to read after having read chapter 4: A heroine is born
Ikaruga, Katsuragi, Yagyu and Hibari were still confused as to why Asuka had just spoken to herself and then left too quickly.
"That... That was weird..." Katsuragi said very confused about how her beloved Asu left.
"Almost as weird as anything she's done in the last few days, honestly." Ikaruga said with even more confusions.
"I hope nothing bad is happening to Asu." Yagyu said with some concern for her friend.
"Who is Makoto Yuki-san? Asu-chan mentioned it before leaving." Hibari asked the rest of the group, confused and worried at the same time.
"I don't know, but whoever it is must know why Asuka-san has been so weird since we came to Yongen-Jaya, I hope we can talk to that person sometime, if he exists." Ikaruga told the group as she prepared to leave.
"Is it a relative?" Katsuragi asked curiously.
"I don't know, but I think we have to be on our toes if Asuka keeps acting like a weirdo." Yagyu said to the rest of the group as she too left.
"Hey everyone, look, this was on Asu-chan's couch." Hibari said while noticing the tarot cards that Igor had given to Asu.
"Tarot cards? I didn't think Asu liked this kind of thing." Katsuragi said curiously as she looked at Asuka's cards.
"Maybe this is why Asuka-san got weird..." Ikaruga said as she and the others took the cards.
Ikaruga took The Temperance, Katsuragi The Strength, Yagyu The Hanged Man and finally Hibari took The Sun.
The four girls felt an enormous energy rushing through them as they picked up their respective cards, while the other cards floated around them.
The eyes of the four girls lit up with a deep blue light as they saw the silhouettes of none other than Makoto and a small black mage.
The moment man ate the fruit of knowledge he sealed his fate, clinging to a faint hope he left his destiny in the hands of the cards, yes, the arcana are the means by which all is revealed.
The next second, the tarot cards fell into place again, while the girls were in shock at what had just happened to them.
"I... think it's better to never touch those things again... Does anyone have an objection?" Ikaruga told the rest of the group.
"No objection on my part." Katsuragi said with difficulty while still in shock.
"Nop." Yagyu said being frightened.
"We... should not do that again." Hibari said with even more fear.
"Excellent, let's pretend this never happened and go to our places, see you later." Ikaruga said immediately as she and the others quickly left the base.
"Yes, there is definitely something weird going on here." Yagyu said curiously as she hurried away from the base.
None of the four girls knew it, but their journey as Phantom Thieves alongside Asuka had just begun.
