"Ego, it's naptime, Eggo, Eggo MyLeggo where are you." Nebula and Rocket heard a familar and adorable voice saying as it belonged to their baby girl, Shocket Raccoon knowing she was looking for a certain egg she was obessessed with which Farcy and Howard had given them to raise only Shocket was in love with it calling it Eggo, pretending to make it walk using her legs along with sleeping with it, only they'd something to tell her hearing quackery like crying making Shocket in awe.
She remembered her first ever friend was in Eggo from when her parents did the ultrasound and she'd seen her sister and friend inside wanting to break her out but Rocket explained the baby had to hatch in her own time but Shocket wasn't sad. She was excited aboht having a friend to play with and go on adventures with clapping her paws making Nebula smirk along with Rocket seeing her reaction to the half duck and human baby kissing her lil head which was calming her down.
"Byrdie Eggocoon." Shocket named her after Rocket asked her, what they should name her sister making him smirk. "Byrdie I like honey but she's not an eggo anymore." he said making Shocket frown. She loved her Eggo but now it had turned into Byrdie so was okay wanting to hold her like an eggo but Rocket wasn't sure this was a great idea but she and Byrdie would share her room which she was okay with making him and Nebula proud she was willing to share and she hadn't started preschool yet only Shocket had a question.
"I think Birdie's too lil for a bed like mine, dada. She needs a crib." Shocket said.
"Good thinking and helping. Byrdie only hatched and you're already being a helper." Rocket said.
"Yeah I can help. You said that's part of being a big kit." Shocket replied seeing him eating Cheese-Whiz seeing her want some, knowing her tummy might get weird again annoying Nebula as Shocket sprayed cheese into her lil mouth despite getting some on her shirt feeling her tummy gurgle making a face making Rocket sigh guessing somebody needed changed and his hunch was right changing her diaper.
"Let's give Byrdie cheese. She might
Ike it like me." Shocket told him.
"Byrdie drinks milk like you. Mommy and I don't wanna change two diapers olay." Rocket told her ruffling her mohawk as she scampered off making him hope she wouldn't get into too much trouble looking up at the ceiling likehe was looking at the sky. "Darcy, Howard if you can hear me, the ego hatched into an adorable lil Byrdie yes Shocket loves her even though she's not an ego. She was wanting to feed her cheese whiz." he said softly as Nebula was quietly watching remembering Quill had told him loved bones in the forever and beauitful sky could still hear you hearing him sniffle.
"They'll be proud, that Byrdie hatched. Are we… going to tell her about what happened to Darcy and Howard, why we became her adoptive parents." Nebula said.
lWhen she's older Nebula. Let her like Shocket grow up( 006.." Rocket said to her seeing Shocket wearing saucepans on her head and holding women spoons like drumsticks banging against the saucepans making Nevula that Shocket was being quiet after hearing that Byrdie needed to sleep to grow big , smart and strong but yawning making them guess it was her naptime as Rocket led her to her and Birdie's room getting into bed as her dad tucked her in telling her a story kissing her furry lil head as she was out like a light leaving her and Birdie's room joining Nebula in the living room of their house on the couch.
"Finally some alone-time. Byrdie's sleeping peacefully and Shocket taking her nap." Rocket joked.
"Yes kits can be a handful. But they're worth it." Nebula said kissing him.
Later that afternoon, after sleeping, Byrdie and Shocket were having their snack after their nap and playing together which Nebula and Rocket foubd sweet but knew the other Guardians especially Quill as Shocket had spilled the tea she had a lil sister that hatched from an egg only Mantis understood, after Nebula told heralong with Groot proud of Rocket seeing Shocket doing the thing she did when Byrdie had been in her egg making Byrdie confused as Shocket sighed.
"It's okay honey. Plus you can help Byrdie learn to fly. She is half bird." Rocket said making her excited.
"Rocket, don't give her ideas. We don't want her jumping off things." Nebula told him.
"Yeah but Birdie's too lil yet to learn how to fly." Shocket told her as Nebula got a message from Xaviers so they could tour it, to see if it was the right school for Shocket to go to making Shocket curious asking when Byrdie was going to preschool.
"One day kiddo. But you don't worry about this, or about school." Rocket told her ruffling her mohawk making her grin as she was loving Nyrdie being her sister so far.. Later that night into early morning, Byrdie was awake as Rocket was getting her a bottle making Shocket wonder, if Byrdie was okay. "It's okay Shocket, Byrdie doesn't mean it as babies don't know how to sleep through the night but she'll learn to." Rocket told her. "Ohhhh that makes sense, was I like this at her age keeping you and mommy awake." Shocket asked making him chuckle
"Yep, but it wasn't your fault and eventually you learnt to sleep through the night." Rocket told her.
That later morning, Nebula was making her and Rocket strong coffee after being up with Byrdie all night asking where Shocket was, as she was normally up, but guessed Byrdie had kept her up making her get it as she was feeding Byrdie in her highchair next to Shocket's seeing Shocket tired making them get it as Rocket put her in her highchair not noticibgByrdie's confused look making Rocket get it.
"It's okay kiddo. You can take a nap later." Rocket told her asshe nodded.
