Olly approached the lamp. "S-Scara? Can you come out please? I want to ask you a question..."
There was a loud POP and a cloud of smoke appeared. It cleared enough to reveal a giant woman resting on the remaining smoke. Her red hair was pulled into a high ponytail, and she wore desert-style clothing; red with gold accents.
"Yes? I knew it was you who scared off that vile woman. I could see her heart's desire. It was tainted beyond repair. She wished for a terrible end to all."
"That sounds pretty bad," Izuku agreed.
"What question ails you, friend?"
Olly put his sword away. "Izuku has an issue in his world. But you could see that since he came here, right?"
"Yes," she said. "A terrible person has come into your world from ours. He deems to destroy all worlds and rebuild them in his image of perfection. 'The worlds will no longer suffer from pain and agony.' That is his heart's desire. Dimentio has been an issue before. You come here wondering if you can defeat him, yes?"
"Wow," Izuku said. "She's good."
Olly smiled. "Is there any way we can?"
"No." She repositioned herself to face Olly directly. "You cannot kill him. He is now immortal, as long as he holds that heart inside him."
"H-his heart? You want us t-to...?!"
"Calm yourself. It's not his heart, but the heart of another. A dark being. It was named the Chaos Heart. It's been feeding off his darkness for years. It's become more powerful than imagined, and increases his power because of it. It's alive, using him as a vessel. If he continues to hold that half of the Chaos Heart inside him, he may reawaken a dark being that hasn't walked this world for centuries."
"Reawaken a dark being? That sounds bad. So we need to find some sort of way to weaken the Chaos Heart's power in order to beat Dimentio?"
"That cannot happen. The only magic capable to destroying other dark magic is Darkle, and that lies within Grape."
"Who we...just scared off."
"But her power is weaker than that of the Chaos Heart's. So it would likely either kill her, or feed her power like it is to Dimentio."
"Oh...So what do we do?"
"Dimentio has a servant capable of safely removing the Chaos Heart from him. However, he has yet to realize this ability and is only suffering from the half inside him."
"He has half the Chaos Heart in him too? That doesn't sound good."
"Yes. However, he was built to remove the Chaos Heart from Dimentio, so it doesn't affect him it would a being of flesh and bone."
"So we need to find Dimentio's soldier."
"Yes. But there is a way to hold Dimentio off long enough to recruit his warrior. Allow me to bestow on you a gift from the heavens themselves."
She leaned forwards, coming face-to-face with Olly. She tapped a finger to his head and they both closed their eyes.
"I sense strong magic within you. With Fold of Life and the Power of the Ancients combined, you will be able to stop Dimentio. You will be the strong warrior Izuku Midoriya needs to accompany him back to his world."
Olly's eyes snapped open. "What?! N-no! I can't do that!"
"I can strengthen you, without costing your soul, and you refuse?"
"This isn't right. I'm not the best warrior Izuku has. That's Mario!"
"Who was able to best Bowser in combat with little effort? Who was able to shatter reality with the flick of his wrist? Who was able to find and redeem himself? You are the one I speak of."
"Wh-what?"
"Mario is not the Mushroom Kingdom's strongest fighter. That title, my friend, belongs to you." She lifted her finger from his head. "You now have the same magic the Ancient Ones used to destroy the Chaos Heart so long ago. It's powerful, but be weary. It comes with a great cost. A powerful ability, that comes with an equally powerful curse."
The card flew from Izuku's pocket. "That's good enough for me! So that kid is Izuku's greatest warrior?"
"Wh-huh?!" Izuku sputtered. "But it hasn't been two days yet!"
"I said find a warrior within two days. And you did just that! So now, since Dimentio's ready to advance, his plans can continue as scheduled!" The card glew faintly. "Ready or not, the plan resumes!"
"What plan?" Scara asked.
The card laughed. "I guess I should tell you what Dimentio's plan is now. You see, he needs the Chaos Heart. But...it doesn't work outside the range of the Mushroom Kingdom. So...he's going to do something incredible! Something he's never done before! He's going to-"
The ground shook, cracks forming up the walls. The ground broke, and the card fled back into Izuku's pocket.
"What's going on?" Izuku asked, panicked.
Dimentio shuffled the cards, hearing the paper slap against each other as they traded spots with one another. A new card appeared in his hand. He stopped and pulled it out. It was the enchanted joker he sent to Izuku.
The card bowed. "It is done, Dimentio. Izuku is on his way. I started the spell."
"Good job. It took him much less time than expected but...I still managed to find some puppets to use. Threaten one hero, and they all flock to you like a moth to a flame." He grabbed the card.
"H-hey wait! Dimentio, you wouldn't hurt me, would you?"
"You should know how I am, loyal servant. If they run out of use, they're removed from my life forever." He tore the card in half, smirking as the card screamed in agony. "Now," he tossed the card's halves to the ground, "for an announcement."
He flew out his castle, to Hosu, and stopped high in the air above the central square. He snapped, his face appearing on every billboard and screen.
"Welcome all citizens of Hosu! This may come as a shock to you, but something grand is about to come forth! I, Dimentio, will be uniting this world with another! Buildings will crumble, people will die, and-best of all-you'll be able to see a whole other world! You can walk into it, interact with it, and die in it!"
"What's up with you and death?" A citizen yelled up at him.
"Easy, dear citizen of no importance! I love death. The concept of it is just so intriguing. Do you go to another world? Do you just vanish from all realms entirely? Only I know the answer to that, but you are all soon to figure that out." He held up his hand. "I call upon the powers of death and-Actually, why make it dramatic? This is already going to be dramatic enough."
He snapped.
Reality shattered. Izuku saw a two-shaped green being for a split second before appearing in Hosu. That glitched away into a large kingdom, with a blue jester visible for only a second before Izuku was tossed into complete black. Izuku, in the midst of darkness, saw a yellow eye, watching him.
The world turned upside-down and around. Izuku nearly fell into the sky at some point. It finally stabilized, and he landed on the ground. He'd cut his hand on broken stone when he landed. Izuku felt like his guts were turned inside-out.
"Oh dear, oh my!" Dimentio landed in front of Izuku. "Looks like you survived after all. You missed a lot, my dear friend. Although, I should have guessed, since my servant came back to me so soon. I'm glad you were able to sneak that card into the Mushroom Kingdom. I needed to cast the spell from both sides for it to work, and you did just that!"
Izuku groaned. "Dimentio..." He spat out a bit of blood. "You'll pay for-" He coughed violently.
"Careful now, I don't want you hurting yourself before your big performance." He kicked dirt in Izuku's face. "Ciao." He vanished.
"Izuku?" It was Olly's voice. "Izuku! Are you okay? Izuku?!" The voice faded out as Izuku closed his eyes. "IZUKU!"
