I own nothing

Rhaenys stood near the stream. She was looking up at the star-filled sky. Ser Lorent was watching Lady Janei back at camp. Janei was still disturbed by the knowledge that she was pregnant. Rhaenys amber eyes snapped to Ser Dastan as he approached her. Once she knew it was him, she looked back at the sky. There was no cloud in the clear night sky. Ser Dastan came to stand right next to her.
"Tell me Ser Dastan what is my brother truly like?" Rhaenys asked looking back at him.
There was a worried look on her face. Ser Dastan looked at the stars and then went back to her. He had a ghost of a smile thinking about his friend.
"He is clever. He is extremely talented with swords. He has a good singing voice. He is honorable and kind. If he knew you were in Kings Landing, he would come for you no matter what the cost to himself or others. He is a true dragon much like your father was," Ser Dastan answered.
Rhaenys nodded her head. He sounded like a good man, and that he had the making of great king. Her mind wandered to Aegon's lady wife. Lord Varys was truly terrified of her. She had heard rumors of her temper that matched that of her father.
"What of his wife, Queen Joanna Baratheon?" Rhaenys asked.
"I do not know her as well as I know Aegon," Ser Dastan answered truthfully. He paused, taking a deep breath. Rhaenys could feel that he was gearing up to answer her question. The silence lingered in the air. "But from what I have gathered. She is very intelligent and cunning. She can be kind and sweet when it suits her but at the snap of fingers, her temper can take hold. Her temper is fire-like. She can hold a grudge and not forget a slight. They do seem to be really in love. He would do anything for her. Lady Lyarra Dayne told me he was willing to live forever as Aeron Dayne to be with her. And it is not just her beauty that keeps him. Trust me on this, Joanna is extremely beautiful, more beautiful than even Cersei or Lady Margaery. Rumors say she looks exactly like her grandmother and namesake with Robert's black hair. But that beauty is nothing to the ethereal beauty of ones of Valyrain descent. I have seen a few in the free cities as did Aegon. They are two halves of the same whole. Twin flames if you were. Their union is one of the most politically sound moves, but it is truly a love match. Aegon is one of the few that can stop her temper in its tracks. She will burn the seven kingdoms to the ground if anything happens to him or the child she carries. And there is not a lord on her council who could stop her, including her grandsire, who would do anything for her. She is as much as a dragon as he is. I am sure he would do the same if something happened to her or their child," Ser Dastan answered.
The silence lingered in the air. She nodded. She now knew what she was likely walking into. She stared at him for a long moment. There was a question that lingered in her eyes. If they said in Kings Landing, they would be married by now.
"Would you have bedded me if we stayed?" Rhaenys asked.
"That would have depended on you my Princess," Ser Dastan answered.
"Dastan," Rhaenys questioned.
"I am loyal to Aegon but in that same vein you as well. If anything happens to both of them and the child she carries. Dorne would want you on the throne. So a political union would be wise. But that would be up to you. I would bring you nothing," Dastan answered truthfully.
Rhaenys and Dastan stood closer together staring in each other eyes. She leaned forward. Her lips meeting his own. It started off as a shy innocent kiss. But quickly it turned passionate in nature. His arms wrapped around her pulled her even closer to his hard body. Her hands tangled in his dark hair. The wind picking up suddenly caused them to pull part. Both of them were panting.
"Is a storm blowing in?" Rhaenys asked.
Dastan looked skyward, there was not a cloud in the star-filled in the sky. His eyes went wide when his mind finally realize what was coming, dragon. The only thing that could cause this much wind was a dragon or dragons.
"Back up slowly, do not run," Dastan told her as he did just that.
"Dastan what is it?" Rhaenys asked worried.
"Dragon," Dastan yelled.
Ser Lorent heard the call running toward them with Janei by his side. Rhaenys looked at Dastan in fear.
"What's a dragon doing this far south?" Rhaenys asked.
"Maybe they can sense your dragon's blood," Dastan answered.
They were startled when a loud thump was heard. Rhaenys looked at a large emerald-green dragon with bronze bread of horns. His bronze and copper eyes locked on Rhaenys amber eyes. He moved his body closer to her. Rhaenys was frozen in her spot. Aegarax moved closer to her blocking Dastan from her. He nudges her middle with his large head. Her hand trembled as she touched his scaled face. Their eyes were locked on each other's. The connection between the two of them had already started. They did not realize Vhagar and Stormsroar landed with large thumps. Ser Dastan and Ser Lorent turned when the two more thumps were heard. They saw Aegon and Joanna dressed in battle armor with crowns on their heads. They instantly dropped to their knees. Janei did so as well as Aegon and Joanna slid from their dragons' backs. Aegarax looked over his shoulders at his parents. It gave Aegon a clear look at Rhaenys. It was now clear to him that the stories were true. His older sister was really alive. Tears well up in his eyes.
"My King, My Queen," Ser Dastan, Ser Lorent, and Lady Janei addressed them.
"Go to your older sister," Joanna told Aegon in High Valyrian. She turned back to the knights and her cousin. "raise," Joanna said.
"I love you," Aegon told her.
"And I you. Aegarax has shown us her as the fourteen flames will it so," Joanna told him.
Joanna walked towards Ser Lorent and Janei. Janei looked at Joanna with tears staining her face and pouring down her face. Her eyes were already pink from her earlier crying.
"Cousin, please forgive me," Janei plead falling to her knees.
"There is nothing to forgive Lady Janei Lannister, Lady of Castamere," Joanna said helping Janei to her feet.
Rhaenys looked over to Aegon. It was almost like seeing her father again. Until he smiled at her. Then it was clear as day. It was their mother's smile. She ran overthrowing herself into his arms. Both of them had tears pouring down their faces.
"It's really you how?" Aegon asked.
"How" Rhaenys asked.
"A nursemaid switched us. She took me to Sunspear," Aegon replied.
"Rhonda and I were playing we had changed clothes. Rachyl, Rhona's mother, came to get her. And took me instead. It was not until all was said and done. That they realized who I was. They had no way to contact the Martells or get me out," Rhaenys answered.
"I'm sorry," Aegon said.
"What for Aegon," Rhaenys said taking his chin in her hands. Tears were falling from his eyes. "You did not know," Rhaenys told him.
"I was there for a moon or two," Aegon told her.
"And look at you. You look like a true Dragon King," Rhaenys told him.
"I would be nothing without, my queen," Aegon told honestly. Aegon looked over to Joanna who was talking with Janei, Ser Lorent, and Ser Dastan. Rhaenys and Aegon stopped hugging but were still standing very close. Caraxes and Gaelithox landed near them. They were talking with Aegarax. "Joanna, sweetheart come here for a moment," Aegon called over to her.
Joanna left them and walked over to Aegon and Rhaenys. Rhaenys dropped to her knees and bowed to Joanna. Joanna stopped her from going to her knees. Rhaenys' amber eyes met Joanna's blue-green eyes.
"Your Grace," Rhaenys started.
"Princess Rhaenys there is no need for that. I thank you for keeping my young cousin safe," Joanna said.
"I am afraid not safe enough. She is with child. Joffrey is a monster," Rhaenys admitted.
Joanna looked over to Janei. Rhaenys noted the calculating look on her face. It was clear as day that Janei was traumatized. She likely never lie with a man again. Joanna's scar proved to her just how mad Joffrey was. She knew that Janei becoming with child was a possibility when she married Joffrey. She just never thought she would come to this.
"Janei has nothing to worry about," Joanna told Rhaenys. She looked back at Rhaenys and Aegon. Rhaenys gave her a disbelieving look. She knew what unwed mother faced. "If she desires not to keep the child. I'll arrange for her to have moon tea or something stronger. And if she wants to keep the child. She and her child will want for nothing. After all that child would be my family twice over. You got her out that is more than I ask of you," Joanna finished.
Rhaenys stared at Joanna for a long moment. It all made sense now. Joanna was more than a beautiful face. She looked out for all whom she deemed hers to protect. More like a dragon, than a stag or lion.
"You are going to be an aunt twice over," Joanna said with a smile on her face as she cradled her baby bump through her armor.
"You both will make great parents," Rhaenys told them.
"We hope," Aegon and Joanna said together.
"Why are you in armor," Rhaenys asked.
"We dealt with a traitorous family" Aegon admitted.
"Let's get back to Riverrun," Joanna said.
Joanna gave Aegon a look. Rhaenys looked at Aegon with a confused look as Joanna walked over to Ser Lorent, Lady Janei and Ser Dastan. She motioned for Lady Janei and Ser Lorent over to Vhagar.
"What is she suggesting Aegon," Rhaenys asked.
"Ready to fully bond with Aegarax, to ride a dragon," Aegon laughed. Rhaenys eyes went wide. She looked back to Aegarax. He motioned for her to climb on. She watched as Joanna placed Janei and Ser Lorent on Vhagar's neck. Joanna climbed up on Vhagar's back, Janei followed tremblingly, followed quickly by Ser Lorent. "Ser Dastan with me," Aegon called heading over to Stormsroar.
Aegarax motioned for her to climb on his back. Rhaenys watched as Ser Dastan followed Janei and Lorent's lead climbing onto Stormsroar's back. She hesitantly climbed onto Aegarax's back. Once she settled on his back Aegarax launched himself into the sky. She let out a high-pitched scream. Vhagar and Stormsroar followed suit. They roared as they did so. They flew around for a time allowing Aegarax and Rhaenys to bond. Stormsroar roared and clicked at Aegarax reading Aegon's thoughts. They turned toward Riverrun.
Tywin was in the courtyard of Riverrun when he heard the echoes of roars of dragons returning. He had just learned of his nephews being held in the dungeon of Riverrun. He headed out to meet his granddaughter and her husband. He was shocked to see more people. Ser Lorent and Ser Dastan climbed down from Vhagar and Stormsroar's backs respectively. Ser Lorent reaches up helping Janei down. Her eyes went wide at the sight of her Uncle Tywin. So, he truly was against Joffrey. Joanna slipped down and she whispered something to Janei.
"Grandsire, may I present your newest banner woman, Lady Janei Lannister of Castamere," Joanna said.
"Welcome to Riverrun Lady Janei. Your Grace, there is something I wish to speak to about," Tywin said.
"What is it?" Joanna asked.
"Ser Willem and Ser Martyn" Tywin started.
"What of them," Joanna asked.
"My brothers," Janei said in shock still trembling.
"They are here in the dungeons," Tywin told her.
"They will be released into Lady Janei's care. Draw a hot bath and prepare meals for Lady Janei," Joanna ordered
Joanna led Janei inside. She was truly concerned with her cousin's condition. The guard around heard her orders and quickly went to release the young men. Tywin's eyes snaped back toward the dragons when he heard a third woman voice. His eyes went wide at the sight of her. He knew instantly who she was. He dropped to his knees before Aegon and Rhaenys.
"Welcome to Riverrun, Princess Rhaenys," Tywin addressed.
The Small Council entered the small council chambers. Cersei sat at the head of the table acting like the King. Kevan sat next to her on one side with Lord Baelish on the other. Lord Varys sat next to Varys. Grand Maester Pycelle was across from him.
"Is there any news on Queen Janei's location?" Cersei asked.
"None of your grace," Lord Varys answered.
"How fair the King," Lord Baelish asked.
"He is comforting Lady Margaery" Cersei growled.
"Messages have been sent to Free Cities. Volantis has declined to give us the information," Kevan stated.
"No surprise there Viserys Targaryen has married Lady Serylla Vhassar a triarchs daughter. They would not move against a dragon with a dragon in their presence," Varys answered.
"There still is Myr, Lys, and Braavos," Lord Baelish said.
"And what happens if Aegon and Joanna learn of their involvement," Lord Varys questioned.
Cersei gave him a look. None of them had thought of that. Kevan went pale as a ghost at the thought of what could happen.
"They won't" Kevan reassured.
A knight's hand came to the chamber door. The Kingsguard took the letters. He brought it over to Pycelle. Pycelle took the letters. He opened the first one from Walder Frey. He went white with horror. The second one had what Pycelle could only know as Joanna's seal. He cracked open the letter.
"What is it Grand Maester Pycelle," Kevan asked.
"It's a letter from Joanna," Pycelle told them. Everyone looked at him. They looked at him waiting to hear what it said. Maester Pycelle took a deep breath. " It reads,
Grand Maester, Lord Kevan, Lord Baelish, Lord Varys, Cersei Lannister, the pretender king Joffrey Hill,
We have found your little spy. She is dead. You are the not only one with allies and spies. As I told you all before, I will have my throne, or I will have Joffrey's head. I realize now which one you all want. Lord Baelish you are a traitor to the crown, and I will have your head just like I took Lady Lysa. Lord Walder Frey and the Twins is now a second Harrenhal. Fire and Blood are what awaits any who stands against dragons. You want ways to kill dragons who will fund it. The crown is broke. According to Lord Ned Stark, it owes a great deal to Lord Tywin and Iron Bank and war is expensive. Especially against dragons. Know this you will all die screaming. We will come, you will hear our fury with Fire and Blood.
Joanna of House Baratheon and Targaryen first of her name. Queen of Andals, The Rhoynar, and the First Men. Lady Regent of the Seven Kingdoms. Rider of Vhagar, the Unburnt, and Mother of Dragons.
The first letter is from Lord Walder Frey. It states Joanna, Aegon, and a man by the name of Prince Gendry came to Twins with seventeen dragons. It says if they did not surrender their castle by sunset, it be a second Harrenhal. For what may lack in age they more than make up with numbers. Joanna and Aegon have likely made good on their threat," Pycelle told them.
"Lord Varys, see if your little birds hear anything of this. I want to know if my sister has survived this," Kevan demanded.
"It will be done my lord Hand," Lord Varys answered.
All of them looked at each other. This was going from bad to worse. First Janei's disappearance. Now the Twins gone along with their spy, Talisa. If Talisa had given information about their plans to get scorpions. Lord Varys' eyes went wide he realized that Joanna and Aegon likely knew about Essos. And had plans for it. Rhaenys' words to him. There would not be a place for him to hide from Joanna's fury.
The riverbank was crowded with Lords. Joanna, Aegon, and Rhaenys stood near the Stark family and Tully family. The Septon did a memorial service. Dragons danced overhead. The boat that housed the body of Hoster Tully was pushed out into the river. Lord Edmure stepped forward trying to shoot a flaming arrow at it but failed. He looked over Joanna and Aegon. He bowed his head, realizing his failure. The Blackfish did not know what was going to happen. When to take the bow and arrow from Edmure. Aegon looked skyward.
"Dracarys," Aegon ordered softly.
Stormsroar flew over the boat lighting the boat a flame in red flames. He was joined by Moondancer blue flames suddenly joined in. Light the boat flame in Tully colors. Brynden Tully on his honor as his brother's body was light in flames of house Tully colors.
"May Balerion welcome you, Lord Hoster," Joanna prayed.
Let me know what you think.
