Fated Crossroads

By: Yuki Mizuno

Summary: An original Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy story that crosses with three girls from the real world, who are mysteriously transported into EEnE's cartoon world. But how did they get here? Was it by some weird fluke or accident… or did all their wishes pay off in the end? Or is there something else at play here that no one knows about? Either way, here are the shenanigans of the Eds and their three new friends; bouncing back and forth from Tusca, Peach Creek, and the other areas around them! The second half of this story goes into a third world; a Final Fantasy XIV-inspired world that plays into the weird situation between the real world and the cartoon world.

FC: Chapter 1

It was a somewhat quiet, uneventful day here in the town of Tusca as we came upon a building that was being filled up with young preteens and teens. It was a middle school; Tusca Middle School, to be exact. It is here where we focus our attention on one student.

It was a girl; one that was a little short for her age. She had medium-length, wirey platinum blond hair, and dark, grass-green eyes. She wore a rose-colored T-shirt that went to her waistline that had two, white vertical lines on the right side of her shirt. She wore a pair of khakis that went a little past her mid-shin and a pair of red and white tennis shoes.

Her name is Amelia Summers; she is thirteen years old… and was about to be late for class if she did not hurry up! She kept on running; some of the folders in her backpack were tumbling about in her rose-colored messenger bag, 'I – gotta – make it – this time!' Amelia thought frantically as she rushed up to her homeroom class, science. She stepped through the door, just as the tardy bell echoed in the hallways of the school.

Amelia made a sigh of relief as she stopped at the right side of the entrance to the science classroom, catching her breath as she did, "Phew, I made it just—"

"Nooo!" yelped a voice from outside the door as another student came rushing into the room.

It was another female student who was a very tall thirteen years old. She had short, midnight-black hair and bright, chocolate-brown eyes. She wore a pastel purple t-shirt that went to her waistline that had two, dark purple vertical lines on the left side of her shirt. She wore a pair of khakis that went a little past her mid-shin and a pair of purple and gray tennis shoes.

Amelia smirked a little as the other student came barging into the room, "Late again, aren't you Naomi?"

The girl named Naomi looked down at her slightly short friend while she was catching her breath, "I – couldn't – help it – this time!" she wheezed out a little weakly, "My little brother Carter was running me late again this morning!"

Soon the two girls could see another student coming up to them from where they sat at their desk.

It was another girl; one that was in between the height of Amelia and Naomi, despite being the oldest of the three at fourteen years old. She had long, dark brown hair that was pulled back into a ponytail and bright, ocean-blue eyes. She wore an ocean-blue T-shirt that had two white vertical lines on each side of her shirt; one on the left, and one on the right. She wore a pair of beige-colored khakis that went a little past her mid-shin and a pair of blue and gray tennis shoes.

"Why hello Amelia, Naomi; it's about time that one of you came to class on time, for once," stated the brown-haired girl, smiling at Amelia and Naomi.

"Oh, be quiet Lily," Amelia replied to her friend in a deadpanned tone as Naomi scratched the back of her head.

The brown-haired girl named Lily only made a light chuckle, "Oh come on now, I was only joking."

Soon their science teacher came walking into the room; this signaled the three girls to get to their desks, which they soon did so, "Good morning class," the teacher stated as she grabbed a marker and started to write on the board, "Today, we will be talking about our galaxy and everything we currently know about it," she stated before turning back to the class, "We will also talk about the newest discoveries made by NASA about possible planets in the nearby galaxy of Andromeda."

Soon the teacher started to teach her lessons about both the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies. Soon Amelia and Naomi started to drift off into thoughts while Lily was still paying attention to the teacher, but even her thoughts were trailing off in her mind. They were all thinking about the same thing, each of them in a different way.

Amelia was currently doodling on a sheet of notebook paper; doodles of a cartoon character from a show that she and the other two watched constantly. Naomi was humming quietly to herself, reading one of the many manga volumes that she had, wondering how the character from the show she liked would look in an anime style. Finally, Lily was writing something down on a sheet of notebook paper; it was a short story about the show. She always loved to write things down that were on her mind, and currently, she was thinking of a neat idea for an episode for the show.

The three girls all made a sigh at the same time, 'I wish they existed for real.'

It was after that thought crossed their minds that they all felt an invisible tug in their chests, making all three of them gasp in shock. The three girls widened their eyes as they perked up with alertness; this also got everyone else's attention, "Is there a problem, girls?" questioned the teacher.

"N-No ma'am," the three of them muttered as they glanced around the room, then at each other.

They soon thought nothing of it as anything important as they went back to what they were doing before. Too bad they did not understand what the feeling in their chests was trying to say to them; something would happen to them this afternoon.

Author's Note (November 29th, 2023): New story! Who dis?

Welp, I guess I can say something about this story. This was a very old idea I thought of back in 2010, and now I'm revisiting the idea for a new story. Honestly, looking back on it now... This is 100 percent an isekai. Holy shit. Oh well, I'll embrace the cringe; I usually do anyway, why would I stop now?
