So now there was four of us, wandering around an abandoned warehouse like scooby doo looking for "ghosts", still it was almost over, only two more places to check.

"Uww~"

I stopped moving for a second and turned a round, Myoukou and Alfredo were walking shoulder to shoulder and holding hands.

"Would you mind keeping quiet? You'll scare all the ghosts away." That caused them to tremble even more.

"M-maybe they've all gone away…?" Myoukou quivered, hopefully.

"We wouldn't know, you're making too much noise…" Hawaii replied.

"Good point" I answered, facing back towards our destination, "We can't hear anything if both of your knees would stop knocking".

"I'm sorry senpai…~" Myoukou cried.

I wanted to ask her to stop calling me that, but considering her condition at the moment, Myoukou needs all the emotional support she needs, same goes for Alfredo.

"H-how much longer~?" The apprentice journalist cried.

"Not long now…" I mumbled, I wanted to get this over with, not because I was scared, but because I didn't want to act as baby sitter, Hawaii offered consolation every now and then, but the two of them were so scared that it did little to alleviate their fears.

"Well, looks like we're here!" Hawaii spoke in a rather unnaturally cheery tone as we reached the end of the hallway that overlooked the Quartermaster's office.

"Okay" I said, stopping for a moment, let's discuss who searches where…" There was a quiet whimpering, "…fine…" I sighed "You two can stick together…" That seemed to put them at ease, "Now I'll-"

I stopped for a moment, I thought I saw- yes, there it is again, unmistakable, inside the Quartermaster's office a small light flashed, disappeared, and flashed again. Well if we were going to catch this person we'll need the element of surpri-

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Myoukou screamed.

"WHAT?" Alfredo yelled, swishing her head left and right to see what Myoukou was screaming about.

"THE GHOST!"

"WHERE?"

"THERE!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Alfredo screamed. Which was just as loud as her anti-aircraft gun she fired right next to my ear.

"JESUS! I'M DEAF!" I yelled. I couldn't hear anything for a moment, all I knew was that Alfredo was busy shelling what was the Quartermaster's office into matchsticks.

"…p…l…s…? In…na…lis…? …ndianapolis?"

"Huh…?" I turned to where the echoey sound of Hawaii was coming from.

"Can you hear that?" she asked. Hear what? I'm deaf, luckily Alfredo and Myoukou were satisfied for the moment that they had dealt with the "ghost" and had stopped firing at the remains of the office.

The ringing in my ears was gradually getting dimmer now so I tried to listen out for any noises. "Shhh… quiet everyone…"

I focused my head to listen to whatever sounds I could hear, which was harder than I though in my current state. Eventually though I could hear something, it was the sound of faint sobbing. Unfortunately, Laural and Hardy also heard it.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Myoukou screamed.

"IT'S ALIVE! KILL IT! KILL IT!"

"WAIT A MOMENT!" I yelled, mostly so I could hear myself say it. I stumbled forward so as to stop the two of them from firing, luckily they had recovered enough of their sanity to not fire at me. As I was gingerly peeked into what remained of the office I could see someone cowering down in a huddle on the floor. "Oh for goodness sake…" I cried, offering the destroyer a hand up. "What are you doing here Bristol?"

"I-" she sniffled "I- I was searching for ghosts~" she sobbed.

"Oh!" Alfredo cried "It's only Bristol!"

"Phew, that a relief!" Myoukou sighed.

"There's seems to be lots of people out looking for ghosts here." Hawaii noted.

"I guess it must be some sort of self-fulfilling prophecy" Myoukou guessed, deep in thought. "Someone overhears a rumour about ghosts in this building, so goes to investigate, then someone else also appears looking for yokai, they both see the light from the other person and believe them to be ghosts."

"Y-yeah, guess it was rather a simple explanation after all huh?" Alfredo.

There was a flaw in that reasoning. Hawaii had been gesturing for my attention and pointed somewhere, so I followed her finger. "Right…" I said, pointing in the same direction, "So how do you explain that…?" Everyone else turned to where I was pointing, and saw a small, yellow, ethereal figure floating in the hallway.
