Welcome to 2025! Let's get the year rolling with some good ol' CopperRight fanfiction! As promised, we've got some Beauty and the Beast-type action coming up! Today's prologue is very short, but hopefully it'll set the stage for a wonderful story! ...I say, despite not having actually written anything besides the outline and this prologue yet. But! That's okay! I've finally got the outline figured out, roles are filled, and themes are ready to be established! Like last time, updates will roll out every Monday, so stay tuned for more in the coming weeks!

Let's get started, shall we?

Prologue:

Once upon a time, there lived an ancient evil wizard of unimaginable power that owned a grand estate hidden deep in the Dark Forest. He planned to one day conquer the world, but before that, he needed a loyal henchman that would serve his every whim. He took in a young orphan boy to raise as such, but of course, an ancient and evil wizard has no time or patience to raise a boy into a man. Thus, the wizard charged the human help that had been forced to serve his estate for generations with the task of rearing the boy.

As the boy grew into a young man, he could see how unfairly the people who cared for him were treated, and grew less and less inclined to do as the wizard told him. One day, when the man was supposed to be of age to officially become the wizard's loyal henchman, the wizard realized that the man felt no such loyalty to him. Blaming the servants, he punished them all by turning them into objects, and when the man protested, the wizard turned him into a horrific beast, saying the spell would only be reversed once the beast swore to serve him completely in body, mind, and spirit. However, for some reason, these spells drained the wizard of most of his magic, and he was driven from his own estate by those who once served him, disappearing into the night.

Some years passed, and though stories of the evil wizard began to fade into local legend, no one ever dared to travel through the Dark Forest alone. Monsters could be heard roaring within, along with the pitiful wails of lost, hopeless souls, and though the treasures once owned by the wizard were doubtlessly priceless, none were brave enough- or perhaps foolish enough- to find out for themselves.

Until, one day…
