OMAKE - CAIN I'LL SAVE YOU

Cain thought himself clever when he had convinced everyone to come to Cassandron instead of plunging into battle in Sanguia.

They would arrive at the hive-world, offer their Technology and resources, and Cain would use the need for Diplomacy as an explanation to attend all sorts of Parties and Dinners with the Governor and High Ranked Officials, looking for an excuse to delay going into another battlefield sooner rather than later.

For a nice change of pace, everything was going according to plan, he had attended several social gatherings without any problems whatsoever. Alas, nice things could not happen to Ciaphas Cain without the Universe turning things upside down for him.

That is why he was currently sitting inside a jail, in a cold dark dungeon underneath Castle Dimitrescu.

At first he had been intimidated - though he had managed to hide it well - by the sheer size of the Noblewoman - standing near 3 meters high - but ever since becoming the Leader of Slawkenberg, in charge of cults of people that terrified him so, a simple Mutation causing extreme Height was not as frightening as it should've been before.

Besides, Lady Dimitrescu had proved herself to be a very welcoming host, and her three Daughters: Bela, Daniela and Cassandra - Who were all of "normal" Height - were charming ladies in their own right.

And just as Cain was finding himself relaxing ever so slightly, reality reared its ugly head. And what a terrifying sight it was! Turns out that the Noble Women of the Castle were all inhuman abominations that feasted in the blood of regular people, and had used some sort of concoction in the food and drink that they had served them all, to knock them out and imprison them.

Thankfully, they hadn't been devoured by the bloodsuckers as soon as they were all knocked out. Instead of being served as their main course, Cain and his people would serve as a sacrifice for some sort of dark ritual that was going to take place later that night when the Moon reached its Zenith and other such nonsense.

You may ask, how did Cain come about this information? Easy, from Lady Dimitrescu herself, who had come to his jail room - where he had found himself after waking up alone, separated from Jurgen and Malicia - to boast and monologue, for some reason that only made sense to her.

Now, as precarious as the situation was, there was still a chance Cain could get away alive from this madness. Hektor, who had other duties that prevented him from coming along to Castle Dimitrescu, could still stage a rescue with a Platoon of USA Soldiers.

It galled Cain to be so powerless at the moment, and to rely on the chance of Hektor becoming suspicious after several hours of lack of communication from anyone of Cain's entourage. So all he could do now was pray and hope for a speedy rescue.

In any other circumstance, the sound of an explosion that seemed to shake the whole Castle and the ever approaching sound of lasfire would've sent shivers down Cain's spine and loosen his bowles, but right now it was sweet and relaxing as his favorite brand of amasec.

Cain didn't have to wait long for someone to finally reach his Jail room, and he was more than ready to congratulate and shower with accolades to whomever came to his rescue. Except this was not Hektor nor an USA soldier.

The man who came to his rescue was not wearing the familiar red color that the Khornates in the USA preferred, instead he was wearing the classic look of an Imperial Guard.

Curse his luck! To be rescued from Bloodsucking Monstrosities, only to fall to the clutches of the Imperial Guard, who - unless this soldier was a budding heretical in their midst - would not hesitate to put an end to the life of a heretic as infamous as the Black Commissar.

As Cain was about to open his mouth to try and bluff his way out of this with his life intact. His rescuer beat him to the punch.

"Cain!" called the Guard as he approached and gripped the bars of his jail. "I swear to the Emperor I'll get you out of there before the Tall MILF Vampire gets you!"

Huh? If any confusion was shown in Cain's face, the Guard - who later Cain learned was named Alaric Tayber - paid it no mind.

"I know how dangerous it is in there Cain!" If he was trying to be reassuring, this man was utterly failing. Not only because of how confused Cain was, but at the sheer zeal on the man's eyes. "But don't worry! You'll be in my sister's arms soon enough!" and with Strength that surpassed that of a man his size, the Guard ripped open the bars of his Jail.

"Come! Felicia is waiting for you!" Cain had no idea who this Felicia was or why was she waiting for him, but had the man's display of sheer Strength hadn't scared him so, he would've stayed in what remained of his jail and taken his chances with the Bloodthirsty Vampires.
