The soft glow of twilight filtered through the windows of the castle as Kristoff paced the nursery, cradling his newborn daughter, A'Laylianna, in his arms. He had always been good with animals—Sven and the reindeer team would agree—but a crying newborn was a totally different story altogether. His heart swelled with love every time he looked at his daughter, but now, his mind was racing, trying to figure out what she needed.
Elsa was in the shower, enjoying what might have been her first few moments of peace in days. The past couple of weeks had been a whirlwind of feedings, diaper changes, and sleepless nights, and while she was a natural mother, even she needed some time to herself to unwind and recharge.
A'Laylianna had been calm at first, but now, no matter what Kristoff did—rocking, shushing, singing softly—she just wouldn't stop crying. And he had tried everything: the gentle bounce, pacing back and forth, even the little snowflake trick that Olaf had taught him, where he brought her to the window to show her the delicate snowflakes falling outside to grab her attention.
But no matter what, nothing seemed to work.
A'Laylianna's tiny face was scrunched in discomfort, her cries growing more insistent by the minute.
"Come on, snowflake," Kristoff murmured, bouncing the newborn gently in his arms.
"What's the matter, hmm? It's alright. Daddy's here. Daddy's got you."
A'Laylianna's wails only intensified, her little fists balling up as her face turned a deep shade of red.
Kristoff's heart clenched with worry and he sighed, running a hand through his tousled hair. He was out of ideas. Maybe A'Laylianna was hungry, or tired—or simply missing her mother. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to calm her down. Finally, after another round of unsuccessful attempts, he realized he needed backup.
There was only one person who could work magic with A'Laylianna—and right now, she was in the shower.
Kristoff walked to the bathroom door, balancing A'Laylianna carefully as he raised a hand and knocked lightly.
"Elsa?" he called, his voice carrying over the soft sound of running water.
"Are you almost done?"
A few seconds passed before he heard Elsa's voice from the other side of the door.
"Yes? What's going on?"
Kristoff rocked A'Laylianna gently, but her cries didn't let up.
"A'Laylianna won't stop crying. I think…I think she just wants you."
There was a brief pause before Elsa responded.
"Oh, my poor little snowflake," she crooned.
"Okay. Bring her here."
Kristoff didn't hesitate. He pushed the door open and stepped into the warm, steamy bathroom.
Elsa stood behind the glass partition of the shower. Her hair was wet and slicked back, and her skin glistened with water droplets as she glanced over at Kristoff with a concerned but knowing look.
"Here," Kristoff said, moving carefully towards Elsa and gently handing A'Laylianna over to her.
As soon as A'Laylianna was in Elsa's arms, her crying began to subside and within moments, her frantic sobs turned into soft whimpers, and then, miraculously, she fell completely silent, her tiny body relaxing against her mother's.
Kristoff let out a small chuckle of relief, his shoulders sagging.
"Told you," he said with a grin, watching the scene unfold.
"She just wanted you."
Elsa smiled softly as she cradled A'Laylianna close, her touch and voice gentle as a breeze.
"It's okay, my little snowflake," she whispered to her daughter, her voice filled with tenderness.
"Mama's here."
A'Laylianna let out a contented sigh, nestling into her mother's warmth, her tiny fingers curling against her mother's skin.
The transformation was immediate and almost magical—the way Elsa's presence alone had calmed A'Laylianna so completely.
Kristoff stood back, watching with awe. There was something about the bond between Elsa and his daughter—his little princess—their baby girl—that took his breath away. He loved his daughter more than words could describe, but Elsa…Elsa had a connection with her that was deeper than anything he had ever seen.
It was as if A'Laylianna knew, instinctively, that her mother was her safe place.
"You really are magic," Kristoff said softly, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Elsa glanced up at Kristoff with a playful gleam in her eyes.
"I think she just knows I'm where the food is."
Kristoff laughed.
"Maybe. But I'm pretty sure it's more than that."
Elsa stayed under the warm spray of the shower, holding A'Laylianna close as she snuggled against her chest, now completely calm and asleep.
It was a beautiful sight, and Kristoff couldn't help but admire how effortlessly Elsa handled the situation.
After a few minutes, Elsa carefully shifted A'Laylianna to her shoulder, making sure the newborn was secure before stepping out of the shower. She smiled gratefully as Kristoff handed her a towel and she wrapped it around herself while still cradling their daughter. Once she was out, she moved to the changing table nearby, gently laying A'Laylianna down for a moment so she could change into something more comfortable.
Kristoff stayed close, watching his fiancée with admiration. Even in the simple act of caring for their daughter, Elsa moved with a grace and calmness that never failed to amaze him.
When she was finished, Elsa picked A'Laylianna up again, holding her close as they made their way to the nursery.
Together, the trio walked into the softly lit room, where the crib stood ready for A'Laylianna's next nap.
The soft pink and white colors of the nursery gave the room a warm and peaceful atmosphere, and Kristoff couldn't help but feel a sense of calm wash over him as they approached the crib.
Elsa gently lowered A'Laylianna into her crib, tucking her in with a soft, pink blanket with snowflakes embroidered on it.
The baby barely stirred, her tiny lips parting into a peaceful sigh as she drifted into a deeper sleep.
Kristoff leaned against the crib, gazing down at his newborn daughter with a soft smile.
"She's amazing, isn't she?" he whispered.
Elsa nodded, her eyes filled with love as she looked at their sleeping baby.
"She is," she murmured.
"I still can't believe she's ours."
Kristoff slipped an arm around Elsa's waist, pulling her close and pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"We're pretty lucky."
They stood together in silence for a few moments, just watching their daughter sleep.
It was a peaceful, perfect moment—the kind that made all the sleepless nights and tired days worth it.
After a few minutes, Elsa glanced up at Kristoff, her smile warm and loving.
"Come on," she whispered.
"Let's let her sleep."
Kristoff nodded, and they quietly left the nursery together, softly closing the door behind them.
Back in their bedroom, the atmosphere was cozy and intimate. The fireplace crackled softly, casting a warm glow across the room.
Kristoff and Elsa changed into comfortable clothes—Elsa in a soft nightgown and Kristoff in his usual simple tunic and pants.
Once they were settled, Kristoff pulled back the covers of their bed, inviting Elsa to join him. When she slipped under the blankets, he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close as they settled into the bed together.
For a while, they just lay there in the quiet, enjoying each other's presence. It was a rare moment of peace and they both savored it.
Kristoff let out a contented sigh, resting his chin on top of Elsa's head as she snuggled against his chest.
"You were amazing tonight," he said softly.
Elsa smiled, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on Kristoff's chest.
"You weren't so bad yourself," she teased.
"You held your own until the very end."
"Barely," Kristoff laughed quietly.
"I think I was about two minutes away from a full-blown meltdown."
Elsa tilted her head to look up at Kristoff, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Well, you did the right thing by bringing her to me."
Kristoff grinned.
"Of course I did. She loves her mama."
Elsa's expression softened, and she reached up to gently cup Kristoff's cheek.
"She loves her daddy too."
They shared a tender kiss, the kind that spoke volumes about the love they had for each other and the new life they had brought into the world.
When they pulled back, Kristoff tucked a strand of Elsa's platinum-blonde hair behind her ear and smiled down at her.
"You're an amazing mother, you know that?"
Elsa's cheeks flushed slightly, but she smiled nonetheless.
"Thank you. But I couldn't do it without you."
Kristoff's heart swelled at those words, and he tightened his hold on Elsa, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
"We make a pretty good team, don't we?"
"We do," Elsa agreed softly.
"And A'Laylianna is lucky to have us."
Kristoff smiled, resting his cheek against Elsa's hair.
"She's the luckiest little girl in the world."
They lay together in comfortable silence after that, simply enjoying the feeling of being close to one another. The fire crackled softly in the background, casting a warm, golden glow over the room. Outside, the snow continued to fall gently, blanketing Arendelle in a peaceful stillness.
Kristoff could feel Elsa's breathing slow as she began to drift off, and he felt his own eyelids grow heavy. It had been a long day, but one filled with moments of joy and love—moments that he wouldn't trade for anything in the world. And as he held Elsa close, he couldn't help but think about the future—the adventures they would have together as a family, the memories they would create with their daughter. It was a future that filled him with hope and excitement.
I love you so much, Elsa…and I'll love you and our little girl for as long as there is breath in my body…
He pressed one last kiss to Elsa's forehead, before allowing sleep to take him. With Elsa in his arms and A'Laylianna safe and sound in her crib, he knew that, no matter what, they were exactly where they were meant to be.
And as the night settled over the castle and kingdom of Arendelle, the new family of three slept peacefully, wrapped in the warmth of each other's love.
That's all for now! I hope you enjoyed these new chapters! Stay tuned—there's plenty more to come!
Until next time!
Much love!
