Cobra stopped short at this declaration. Sorano. No, he couldn't deal with this now.

Taking Cobra's pause as listening, Meredy continued. "She looks fine, she's perfectly healthy as far as I can tell, but Cobra she doesn't seem to care about anything anymore. She's smiling but…" her eyes started brimming with tears, "when I tried to do a Sensory Link on her, it-it wouldn't connect. I don't understand it.

"You have to listen to her soul Cobra. I don't like the fact that she isn't connecting. I tried with the others as well, but still, nothing."

"…I can't help you."

Meredy stopped and stared in disbelief at him. "Excuse me? Didn't you hear me? Sorano was at that weird love doctor place yesterday, and now she's acting like this! That's super shady! I'm worried for her, something might be terribly wrong."

"…She's not coughing up blood or complaining, is she? Then she's fine. It can wait another day." Cobra brushed past an incredulous Meredy, heading straight for his tent. Doing his best to block out everyone in the general vicinity for fear he'd accidentally hear Sorano's soul and lose it.

Meredy ran towards him. "Cobra!" she shouted, but he kept walking. Unfortunately, she wasn't the only one in camp, as Jellal and Richard sat discussing something near the fire. Jellal stood up when he saw him.

"Cobra, excellent timing. You can give your report in a minute. Meredy was wondering if you could check something with Sorano–" The dragonslayer didn't even let the man finish his sentence before walking past him completely. If he'd been looking, perhaps he would have seen Jellal's mouth flop open like a fish on land.
