Her previous mumblings made sense now. "No luck on that front?" Lucy shook her head as she flipped through the book, which was highlighted and marked with various symbols. Some of them had been there before when Lucy initially wrote in it, but there was a new one that he took to assume meant if the individual was around or not. Its infrequency as she went through the book supported her forlorn expression.

"The thing is, with Magnolia being a huge merchant town, people come in and out through here all the time. Add that we do trade via waterways…and a good percentage of the people we saw were either traveling through or just about to leave. No way are we going to find most of them still around.

Cobra reflected on the past few days. It was true that a good chunk of people who came in had accents and knowledge far outside the Magnolia sphere. He didn't think much of it at the time, but now he wondered if Mirajane had found any satisfaction in peering into the love lives of people she'd never hear about again? He concluded that the answer was, depressing, yes.

"What about anyone elderly?" He asked, thinking back, "We had a ton of those, and they're sure to be around still."

Lucy pursed her lips. "I don't want to bother them this early. Although it is disturbing to me the idea that something magical affected them mentally, so maybe later, if I can track them down." She sighed. "Personally, I would have liked someone that we already know, that way it would be easy to compare any discrepancies."

"Good luck with that. Not a single Fairy entered that shop, and the mages were all from other guilds."

"I suppose…unless…" she suddenly looked at him, eyes sharpening. "We do know one person close by!"
