On the 24th January, 2011, Hope's Peak University was opened as a descendant to Hope's Peak Academy. On that same day, a new killing game began. Follow Terashi Sakai, the Ultimate Lucky Student, and the rest of Class 53-A as they all try to survive the "true" second killing game.

Following their brutal executions, the blackened students wake up in a bleak afterlife, where they immediately come face to face with their own victims.
