I chased the Felyne through the streets and alleyways, until the thing squeezed through a hole in under the perimeter wall. After trying to get through for about fifteen seconds, I followed. Again, I started running after it, now winded. The damn thing didn't seem to have to worry about any of that, though. I stopped, and leaned against a single tree amongst all the grass. The Felyne came to a sudden stop. I didn't know why, until I felt it, too.

There was a slight tremor in the ground. I shuffled around, got down, and laid my ears down to the ground. The ground's quivering got more and more intense, until I could feel it going throughout me, piercing into my bones. The tremor stopped quickly, and I heard enough stories to know what happened next, so I quickly jumped up and ran out of the way, just before the ground exploded into grass and dirt.

In the middle of it was a large, green body. It dug it's way out of the ground, stood on two muscular legs, raised it's tyrannosaur-like body upright, and let out a booming roar that shook the very earth and made the heavens tremble. Upon its massive jaw laid rows and rows of tooth-looking spikes, it's tail looking like a buzzsaw, and a row of spikes going from behind it's scalp, along it's spine, to it's tail. The only contradiction to it's otherwise terrifying form were it's two small, puny arms.

I desperately tried to recall everything I knew about the Deviljho, gluttony Brute Wyverns native to my homeland. They're nomadic predators with a tendency to interrupt quests and attempt to satisfy their never ending hunger by devouring both the Hunter and the monster said Hunter was pursuing. Rarely would a hunter live to tell the tale.

The Deviljho focused its yellow, hungry eyes of me, a deep, guttural growl emanating from its throat. I stood absolutely still, my eyes scanning the area for the Felyne. There it was, behind the monsters' right leg. I tried to get it to come out from there, y'know, with my eyes, like what people do. The Felyne didn't move, and stared back at me, surely confused by the weird things I was doing with my eyes. The Deviljho must have gotten sick of it, and attempted to bite me. I jumped backwards as the jaws snapped where I was just standing, with such force I could feel the snapping sound. I ran at the Felyne, picked it up by the scruff of its neck, and quickly turned back to Bulgord Port, the Deviljho chasing me. Seeing a guard on top of a massive ballista atop the wall, I waved and hoped he saw. Of course, even if he didn't see me, I'm sure the giant monster behind me might catch his attention.

Sure enough, the ballista swerved in my direction, and a bolt went flying above my head. I couldn't turn around to check, but by the cracking noise and the shrapnel that flew past my legs, I figured it had hit and broken, like it was meant to. The Felyne wiggled in my hand, I quickly switched it to a more comfortable position over my shoulder. Okay, maybe not very comfortable, but I was panicking and it was better than before.

The guards were opening a small gateway by a crack, and, as I neared, I threw the Felyne through the crack, before jumping through and sliding along the ground on my stomach just as they closed it. After a being dazed for a moment, I sat up and gave slight laugh, before it turned into a real laugh, the kind that happens after you almost die, or, in my case, get eaten by a giant picklesaurus rex. The Felyne and I stare at each other, it's piercing emerald eyes reading me, before it turns and scampers away. I decide not to go after it this time.

A group of three guards helped me up, and checked for injuries. I was about to tell them that I was fine, but I was interrupted by a booming sound as the Deviljho from before crashed through the gate, sending planks and splinters everywhere. The guards pulls their lances, and charge the Deviljho, who knocks two of them aside and sends the third flying with a tail sweep. I want to help, but don't know how, until I see a a ladder leading up the side of the wall, and a ballista. The group is holding off the Deviljho fairly well, so I wait for the opportunity to present itself. The Deviljho is bashed hard on the head and stands stunned for a moment, so I rush towards the ladder.

Practically flinging myself onto the ladder, I frantically clamber up the ladder, getting about halfway there before the Deviljho rammed the wall, destroying the part of the ladder below me. Panicking, I climbed even faster, before reaching the top just as the Deviljho destroyed the rest of the ladder. I was safe.

However, the mighty beast began attempting to climb up here, and I felt the wall shifting as the Deviljho's head poked over the edge, yellow eyes boring into me. All the while, the ballista waited at the ready, a bolt already drawn back. I ran at the ballista, grabbed the handle, flung it around so it was facing the Deviljho, and was about to shoot when that portion of the wall couldn't handle the weight and crumbled. The Deviljho and I fell, as time slowed down. With all my strength, just before the Deviljho's jaws were about to catch me and we were going to hit the ground, I squeezed the trigger and watched as the arrow flew from the ballista, through the air, and collided with the Deviljho's snout, shattering upon impact, and as the splinters flew all across the body, and into it's mouth.

I was overjoyed for about a millisecond, before I went thud against the ground, a massive, green mass about to crush me. Fortunately for me, somebody quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me away before it smashed me. Of course, the impact sent both of us flying, but I still preferred that to losing my life. After regaining my bearings, which took a while, I stood up and turned to look at the person who saved me. I was met with the same Diablos armor as Dustin's brother.

"George!" I cried out. "Thank you! I thought I was gonna die, and, well, thank you!" George simply nodded. The rest of the group walked towards us.

"Had some fun, I see?" Dustin chuckled, giving me his hand to shake, which I happily did so.

"We heard the commotion and came. Lucky George was here, or you'd be a pancake." Jonas told me.

"Hey, by the way, we won't always be there in the future. You need a way to defend yourself." Mollie said.

"She's right," One of the guards who fought the Deviljho agreed. "Follow us to the Armory, you'll get to pick your weapon there."
