Cheyenne ended up sleeping straight into the next morning, which didn't really surprise her too much considering how strong the meds the doctor at St Thomas had given her the day before had been.

She had also clearly been both physically and emotionally exhausted after everything that had occurred the previous day as well.

Climbing out of the bed, she spotted her bag that she had brought with her when she and Lucy had set out for Charming from Tacoma the morning before.

She assumed that her friend must have brought it to Gemma and Clay's house for her since it had still been in the trunk of the blonde's car yesterday when David had shown up at the auto shop, and everything had gone downhill from there.

As she got dressed in a pair of jeans, tank top and flannel shirt from the bag, the brunette made a mental note to thank her blonde-haired friend for bringing her bag.

She then styled her brown hair in a simple yet cute ponytail.

Finally, she exited the guest room and made her way up the short hallway towards the kitchen. Gemma and Clay were both already sitting at the table, eating their breakfast and drinking coffee.

Gemma looked up and smiled at Cheyenne as she entered the room.

"Hey, sweetie. You hungry? There's a plate for you in the microwave if you want it. Clay and I will be heading to the shop soon. You can ride with me unless you've got something else planned for today."

Cheyenne quickly consumed the plate of food that Gemma had set aside for her and, once she was done, went back to the guest room to grab her purse.

She then followed the matriarch outside to her car and climbed into the passenger seat.

The ride to TM was pretty quiet, with only the radio quietly playing in the background.

Cheyenne could tell that Gemma had something on her mind as she drove them towards the auto shop, but she knew better than to push the older woman about whatever it was.

Most of the day ended up being pretty uneventful for both Cheyenne and Lucy as they helped Gemma in the office at the shop.

Little did they know though that the same wouldn't be said for the next day.

In fact, Cheyenne would come face to face with the very person that was the reason that she'd left her home seven years prior and she would be forced to face what had happened to her back then.

A/N: I know that this chapter is shorter than the ones that I usually put out but I really wanted to get a new one out since I haven't updated it in a long while.

Sorry about that, by the way. I've been dealing with a lot during the last year with losing not just one but two different family members that I was extremely close with pretty much my entire life and a lot of other stuff after that.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get another chapter up on this story sooner but I make no guarantees about that lol!

With all that being said, I hope you all have a great day/afternoon/night wherever you may be and remember, stay safe everybody!
