I sat with my friends at school the next day. It was lunchtime. I happen to like lunch the best since we get a short break from the teachers.

"What is your sister up to these days, Stephanie?" Melanie asked.

She happens to be my best friend.

Melanie's other friend joined us. Her name is Lisa. I don't know Lisa very well, but we're starting to get connected, but taking it slow.

"DJ is doing good, but has sent a friend of hers tickets," I began.

"Tickets for what?" Melanie asked.

"Disneyland," I answered.

"How fun. Is there a special occasion?" Lisa asked.

"A friend's birthday since it's coming up," I answered.

"Does your sister's friend know about it?" Melanie asked.

"It's supposed to be a surprise. Most of her friends will be invited," I continued.

"Do we know your sister's friend?" Melanie asked.

"I don't think so," I answered.

"Is the friend from here?" Lisa asked.

"She'll be coming from Maine, but was born here," I said, thinking about Dawn.

"What's the occasion?" Lisa repeated.

"DJ's friend's birthday. I just answered that question," I told Lisa.

"Sorry," Lisa replied.

"Disneyland does sound like a good birthday gift," Melanie said.

"You bet," I agreed.

"What are your family's plans for the party?" Lisa asked.

"Some of them already have their own," I answered.

"Who is that?" Lisa asked.

"Uncle Jesse. He has a tour that he can't reschedule," I told her.

"It's pretty cool he has a job performing music," Melanie told me.

"It is. Joey is staying with us. Michelle is pretty upset about it," I said.

"I'm sure she is. Can we join the party?" Melanie asked.

"Of course not. Uncle Jesse said that he might be a couple days late," I told them.

"Good luck to him," Lisa told me.

"He doesn't need luck," I replied.
