The couple ended up watching TikTok's instead of a movie until after a knock the door opens and Rachel and Santana come in, Santana carrying a bag with Kurts stuff.
"Hey Kurtie. How are you?" Rachel asks and Santana nods "What she said". Slowly Kurt gets tired of answering that question but they were worried about him so he answers "I'm okay girls". While Rachel hugs him carefully Kurt watches how Santana unpacks Kurts bag. Kurt and Blaine look at each other and nod before Blaine stands up.
"Santana? Do I get a hug from you too?" the chestnut haired man asks and sees the latina shaking her head "Can't. I need to unpack your bag". "Let me do it" Blaine says and takes the bag from her while pushing her gently in Kurts direction. Then he continues to unpack where Santana stopped.
Kurt opens his arms for his best friend "If you're careful it won't hurt". The girl nods and gently hugs Kurt before saying "If you wouldn't be in the hospital already I would kick your ass. Why did you ran in there? You should've called the police immediately". "I know but my first instinct was that Tyler needs help so I reacted and before I knew it I was there to try and help" Kurt apologizes. "I was worried sick about you. You little idiota" Santana says, hugging him just a tad tighter. "I'll be fine Tana" the other man answers with a smile.
That seems to make her feel a little better because she nods "You're excused". "Also Tyler is very thankful for your help" Blaine says and immediately Kurt grimaces "Honey don't be mad but he found out about us. He said he wouldn't tell anyone". "I know. I talked to him that night and he told me what happened. It's not your fault that he found out. In school he pretends I'm only his and your teacher so it's okay" Blaine answers with a smile.
He finishes unpacking by setting the picture frame down next to Kurts bed. He kisses Kurt shortly before sitting down on the chair next to Rachel since Santana took his spot on the bed. "Did Doctor Mitch say when you're allowed to go home again?" the brunette asks and Kurt nods "I can go home on Friday".
"You two go to work and I take Kurt home in the car. I stay overnight so he isn't alone while you two aren't there. Saturday and Sunday Burt is with him and after that I see if I stay over more often" Blaine explains further. The girls nod. They don't want to go to work but they need the money so not going isn't really an option.
With a look at Kurt Blaine stands up and says "I think we should go. It's getting late and Kurt needs to rest. I give you a ride. You say goodbye while I get the car". He goes to Kurt and says "Sleep well sweetheart. I come by tomorrow". "Now that I have my laptop I want you to facetime me when you need me. I have it in reach. Evening or night" Kurt answers but Blaine shakes his head "No. I'm okay. You need to rest". "Honey what did we say about covering up? I can rest all day while you three are at NYADA so you reach out to me whenever you need" Kurt insists.
The older man gives in and nods "Okay. I love you and goodnight". "I love you too" Kurt says and pulls his boyfriend in for a kiss goodnight. Blaine then turns to the girls "I wait at the main entrance" before he kisses Kurt one more time, takes his bag and leaves the room.
"What was that about?" the latina asks as soon as the door closed. "They said I love you" Rachel squeals but Santana shakes her head "No the facetime me if you need me". Kurt sighs "You don't know that from me okay? Blaine got gay bashed in high school before he transferred to Dalton. It was the reason he transferred. They hurt him and he was in the hospital and what happened this week takes him back to what happened back then. He was okay with it but now he has nightmares and flashbacks and everything".
"Oh no. Poor Blaine" the brunette pouts and Kurt nods "He told me when I told him about my time in high school and after we had sex for the first time he told me where he got injured". "Is there anything we can do to help?" Santana asks. "I don't think so. Maybe if he seems distracted in school or when you see him talk to him to ease him or bring his mind back to reality" Kurt answers "Thank you girls".
Now the two girls say goodnight to their best friend before they go out and downstairs where they already see Blaine waiting in the car. They quickly get in so Blaine can free the spot. On the way to the loft the three casually sing along to the music from Blaines playlist.
It's easier for Blaine to fall asleep that night. Kurt is awake. Kurt is okay. Kurt will make a full recovery. Kurt will be home again on Friday. And he will be right by his side.
Still around two am he wakes up, once again looking around in panic. He's alone. His heart is racing. With a heavy sigh Blaine leans back on the pillow and closes his eyes again. Happy thoughts. He got to say I love you to Kurt today and Kurt said it back.
With another sigh the curly haired man takes his phone and tries to reach Kurts laptop. "Hey honey" he hears Kurts voice a few seconds later and immediately he feels warm again. "Hi" Blaine whispers "I feel bad for waking you up". "It's okay. Really. Do you want to talk or just go back to sleep?" the younger man asks and his boyfriend answers "Back to sleep. My alarm goes off in five hours".
"Well I think it's time for me to sing you a lullaby this time" Kurt proposes and the other man whispers "Thank you sweetheart". He gets comfortable in bed again and listens to Kurt singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for him. Blaine closes his eyes, feeling warm, feeling better, relaxed and more and more tired. A few minutes later he's back asleep.
Kurt smiles at him screen and whispers "Goodnight honey. I love you" before he ends the call. He puts the laptop away in reach so he can react if Blaine calls again. Then he turns the light out again and goes back to sleep himself.
