Kurt Wanger otherwise known as The Incredible Nightcrawler continued to expertly swing through the air as he dodges robots after robots down in the Danger Room. It came as no surprise since he was one of the most athletic and skilled trapezes the audience at the circus had ever seen. He could clearly remember the way the crowd would cheer and hold their breath whenever he would dare to pull off a stunt they didn't know he would be able to pull off in the first place. Luckily thanks to his mutant powers he would wait until the very minute where he heard the few loud gasps before teleporting and reappearing in front of them in a fury of black and purple smoke.
It was all so wonderful to him until later that night when he would find himself locked up in a cage with the rest of the animals at the circus. It wasn't until a few months after his last performance when he decided to take this opportunity during one of his performances that he escaped and found comfort in the church. Never once did he ask why he was born the way he was, knowing that people always feared what they didn't understand.
"Look out!"
Distracted by his own memories he didn't see when one of the robots' lasers was aimed directly at him until he saw the brief flash of a playing card exploding in front of him making him instinctively teleport away and closer to where Remy was leaning against the far wall to observe since he's turn would be next. "Got careless for a minute I see. Can't be doing dat in here especially with him watchin'." He nodded towards the monitor room.
"I suppose." Kurt apprehensively looked back to see that same robot now in pieces. "Danke, you didn't have to help me Gambit."
"Didn't do much if you asked me." He shrugged as he glanced up at the others. "You just 'bout finished dem off yourself anyhow."
"Apart from not having much experience out in the field. I'd say he has perfect control over his mutation." Scott admitted from his spot near the window. "Could be an asset to the team."
"And me? Where do I fit into your little club?" Emma finished looking over her nails as she seductively walked to stand next to him. "Or is that a secret?"
"That's not only for me to decide." Clearing his throat, Scott returned to stare out the window.
"I see." Emma grinned having somewhat of an idea. From what she'd overheard from various students was that not long ago another teacher with telepathy such as hers had died, which turned out to be his fiancé of all people. And she knows that pain all too well when you lose someone you care about. She had only known Jean Grey for the few months she had stayed at the Xavier Institute after escaping that horrible Island before she left, thinking that this place wasn't for her.
But come to find out making it out in the real world had taught her many things including how to stand on her own two feet. But that didn't mean she couldn't have fun during her small stay here right now before she was to return and build her own school. "Such a pity Scott, since I recall we made quite a good team when I was here. However, brief it may have been."
"Really?" Logan halfway turned to see Cyclops flex his jaw as he silently continued staring out towards the Danger Room.
"That's right. Didn't he tell you he and I came to this school at the same time?" Emma raised a questioning brow at the leader of the X-men. "Surprised he didn't mention me."
"Must've slipped his mind." Logan huffed before frowning down at the training grounds below. "Seems to me the Cajun's eager for his turn next."
"Logan."
"Don't worry Storm I'll go easy this time ok."
"Define easy?" she questioned which made the young X-men in the room exchange knowing looks.
Shaking his head Logan pressed down on the speaker button. "Gumbo."
Glancing up Remy clicked his tongue when Logans voice echoed through the Danger Room. "I do believe it's my turn."
"Viel Glück Gambit."
"Merci." He watched Kurt exit the room as the metal door slid shut before taking out his staff and extending it to its full length, giving his shoulders and wrist a good warm up in preparation for what the Wolverine had in store for him today.
"Let's start at a level 5 Today." Logan smugly pressed the button before he heard Ororo exasperatedly sigh. "What? It's only level 5 'Ro." He replied as he heard a few of the students snickering. This wasn't half as bad as what he had him do before, so he wasn't sure what the problem was. If this kid couldn't even handle another single Danger Room session, then what was the point of training them all in the first place.
"Level Complete." The computer's voice said after only a few minutes.
"Wait what?" Logan leaned forward narrowing his eyes at the smug expression on Remy's face as he saluted from down below.
"Oh, my stars and garters." Hank's widened eyes looked down at the robots below. "How remarkable."
"Gettin' soft on me Logan?" Remy chuckled as he watched the scene in front of him return to its normal metal surroundings.
"Gotta admit that kid's got style." Emma let out a contempt sigh before turning to Scott. "Don't you think darling?"
Ignoring the hungry way she eyed him, Scott only shook his head. "Hate to admit this but his fighting style's nothing to frown upon."
"Oh lighten up Scott, that kids got more than just pure talent." Emma turned her eyes towards the door that slid open as the boy in question waltzed in holding his staff behind his head while breathing heavily. "Among other appreciative aspects of course."
"How's dat boss?" Remy smirked back at an irritated Wolverine.
"Could've done better." Logan grumbled before turning back to look at the Danger Room, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of a job well done.
Scoffing Remy walked over to the rest of the young X-men before stopping next to Rogue who was busy watching Logan.
"Alright Iceman you're up." Logan gestured for him to head on down.
"Got it." Bobby confidently grinned at Kitty standing next to him before he did what was asked.
Remy's eyes flicked back to Rogue wondering if she had noticed the small exchange. Not only had she noticed but he could see that she was trying her best to keep calm.
How anyone could not see her the way he did was beyond him.
Placing his bo staff back in one of his coat pockets, he waited a few minutes before turning his head. "So, what you t'ink?"
"About what?" she absently replied only turning when she heard him huff. "Don't tell me that the great Gambit is fishin' for compliments."
"Course not. Don't gotta tell dis one when he's done a good job." He swiftly turned towards the window not letting his disappointment show that she didn't give him the same praise he'd usually receive from the many females that watched him in action. Wondering what it would take to impress the girl that didn't seem to be affected by any of his charms like everyone normally was. Maybe she was broken? He silently chuckled to himself thinking that despite all that, at least it would present him with a challenge.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothin' Chere."
"How…how did you do that?" she quietly asked, her genuine curiosity getting the better of her. "With the card's ah mean. How did you make them explode like that?"
Shrugging his shoulders he gave it some thought before answering. "I throw de cards. De cards go Boom! End of bad guy. End of story."
Rolling her eyes she pressed her lips together to keep from smiling.
"What 'bout you?" When he saw her look apprehensive before glancing away, he quickly clarified. "Your powers I mean. I have yet to see dem."
"Trust me you wouldn't want to." She whispered more to herself, reflexively making sure her gloves were still on just in case. When she saw him still carefully watching her, she forced a small smile before wrinkling her nose in mock disgust. "You should really take a shower Swamp rat."
He knew she was dodging his question but regardless he decided not to push any further. "De best things in life make you sweaty Chere." Gone was the fake smile he saw instantly replaced by the annoyed expression she seemed to reserve only for him. With a satisfied grin he saw the way her face became flushed before they heard Scott clearing his throat in an attempt to get them to pay attention. It was so easy to get a reaction out of her and he came to find himself rather enjoy it too.

By the time everyone had finished with their training she found herself wandering the grounds of the Xavier institute after showering and changing. She thought about just staying in but since the weather was nice today with the cool wind giving her the much-needed comfort she desperately needed as she begrudgingly glared down at the jeans and long sleeve shirt she wore. She could still feel as the fabric clung onto her with the sun beaming down relentlessly. Even though it was the end of summer she still wished she could at least enjoy it some more.
She had just passed by one of the shaded trees when a figure caught her eye. He had his eyes turned down to the deck of guards he was currently shuffling while casually leaning back against it without a care in the world. Any other instance she would have guessed that he was just enjoying the afternoon just like everyone else but something in her gut told her otherwise. "Do you just make it a habit to lurk in the shadows? Or don't you have something better to do?"
Pondering her question over, he smiled down at the cards before slowly lifting his eyes to see her staring at him. "Just enjoyin' dis nice day is all. Last I checked dat wasn't against de rules."
"It's not." She dismissively shook her head before continuing on her way past the pool where she could see a few of the students playing and towards the gardens. She was glad that he decided to stop hiding behind his sunglasses but could guess that he still kept it with him like a safety blanket.
Neatly tugging the cards in his pocket, he briskly began walking next to her, turning his head whenever he saw one of the older students passing by in their swimsuits giving them appreciative smiles. "So, Chere where we headed?"
"Anywhere but here." She had hoped during his distraction that he'd clumsily fall into the pool but knew that was only wishful thinking. She suddenly stopped to settle him with puzzled frown. "Why are you followin' me?"
"Who says I'm followin' you?" She could see the playfulness shining in his eyes and instead of humoring him decided to keep walking. "Maybe I'm just goin' de same way you are."
"Oh yeah and where is that exactly?"
He could hear the smile in her voice, no doubt trying to prove her point. Especially when she gave a slight chuckle at his silence. "De garage." He suddenly said which made her now confusingly turn back to him. 'Nice try Chere.' He thought while inwardly celebrating when he once again caught her by surprise, knowing full well she was probably on her way to see Bobby.
"Garage?" furrowing her brows she glanced at the opposite direction they were headed. "Well hate to break it to you Cajun but it's in that direction." She mockingly pointed her finger towards the front of the building.
"I know." He nonchalantly shrugged as he shoved his hands in his pockets. "Just decided to say Bonjour before I make my way off. Au revoir Chere."
And just like that she saw him wave over his shoulder before he turned to leave. "Wait have you seen-" cutting herself off when she saw him point his index finger towards a group of people near the basketball court.
She could see Piotr and Jubilee playing basketball while Kitty sat on the grass with Bobby talking as he held another ball. She had received a message not long ago from Bobby asking if they could talk about what happened, but she was under the impression that once again it was just going to be just the two of them. When she heard Kitty giggle at something he had said she clenched her fists and instead turned on her heels.
"What are you doing in the garage anyways? Classes are done for today." She hated to admit this but anything that would take her mind away from this uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach was better than locking herself up in her room like she would normally would.
"Thought you had somewhere to be." He sing songed as he picked up his pace without sparing her a glance to see if she was keeping up.
"Just answer the que-" She flinched when she saw him stop and place a single finger against his lips to let her know to quiet down as he peeked around the corner of the building. "What is it?"
"Nothin'. I just wanted you to be quiet." Flashing her a playful grin he could practically see her eyes fuming with anger while he ushered her forward when he was sure no one was around. "It's nice."
"Urgh! You're so infuriatin'." Throwing caution to the wind, she stomped her way over the garage unbeknownst to her that he was carefully surveying the area around them.
"Might wanna pick up dem legs of yours Roguey." Jogging ahead of her he only stopped once he made it inside without caring if she followed or not.
"And what's with the hurry?" She stopped next to him as he let his eyes drag through all the vehicles parked there as if they were standing in the middle of a fancy car dealership and he got to pick whichever one he wanted. Little did he know these were only the everyday vehicles and not the ones they kept downstairs.
"C'est magnifique…" he lightly patted a dark blue Mazda RX-8 as he walked by and crouched down to inspect a red Harley Davison with flames across the sides, his eyes never leaving its sleek design.
"That's Logans." She exhaustingly rolled her eyes wondering what they were even doing here. If this is what he preferred doing on his free time, then she may as well have gone back to her room and get a head start on her homework.
"You don't say…"
Something told her that with the mischievous glint in his eyes and the slow growing smirk on his face that he was about to do something she had no intentions of knowing.
"Lucky for me I just so happen to find dese layin' around."
The moment she saw him proudly shaking the keys in his hand she regretted ever following him over here. "He's goin' to kill you. Ah mean he's actually goin' to kill you dead."
"T'ink so?" He squinted his eyes in mock gesture as he sat himself down.
"You were plannin' this all along..." She huffed watching as he made himself more comfortable in the seat. "You can't just take someone's ride Gambit."
"Au Contraire." Wiggling his finger back in forth he gave her a pointed look. "One, I'm simply borrowin' it, an' two he practically asked for it when he just left dese layin' dere." He wasn't going to go into detail as to how he managed to swipe them from his pocket during their last training exercise, but he doubted he had to when she raised an unconvinced brow.
"And yet somehow ah find that hard to believe that Logan would do that."
Smiling, he pulled out his shades and placed them on before teasingly patting the seat behind him, he saw her stubbornly folding her arms across her chest before he tilted his head back groaning in annoyance. "Come on Chere, haven't you ever done anythin' unexpected in your whole life? Live a little."
"Ah don't think this constitutes as livin' so much as askin' for a death wish." She watched as he practically began excitingly bouncing in the seat like a little child.
"Fine you know what? Don't come." He began grinning once more when he heard the motorcycle roar to life removing the side stand and moved about an inch forward before her eyes widened.
"Gambit! You can't!"
"Actually, I can." He chuckled when she tried to come up with another rational way to get him off the bike before they were caught. "Look Rogue if you're so worried den why don't you do dis cajun a favor an' come with."
"And be an accessory to your crimes? Ah don't think so."
"Suite yourself." He teasingly moved forward again but stopped when she blocked his way.
"Are you kiddin' me?!"
"Get on the bike Rogue."
"No."
"Get on de-"
"No!"
Narrowing his red on black eyes he warningly began twisting the handle to make it roar louder in hopes that she would finally move.
"You wouldn't dare…" Shooting him a dangerous glare she saw him reluctantly stop and frustratingly slamming the handles.
Patiently inhaling thought his nose he eyed her for a few seconds before trying again since there was no way she was going to be able to keep him from doing what he wanted. "Look like I said, I'm just borrowin' it for a little joy ride alright. It's a nice day an' to be honest I'm tired of bein' cooped up in dis here place." He honestly admitted. "An' somethin' tells me you are too."
Shaking her head she was about to protest that he didn't know what he was talking about, ignoring the small voice in the back of her head that couldn't help but agree with him. "Ah don't…"
"How's 'bout dis den. You come with me to make sure nothin' happens to dis beauty here." He once again patted the seat behind him. "An' we'll be back 'fore anyone finds out."
Glancing back to the door leading back into the mansion from the garage, she nervously chewed on her bottom lip. What he said did sound appealing and the thought of leaving the mansion, if only for a little while did awaken a thrill in her she hadn't felt for a long time. And yet somehow, he of all people managed to pull it out of her. If she had to be perfectly honest with herself, she had never met anyone like him before. She both hated and felt a strong pull towards him, a pull she couldn't explain nor wanted to probe further knowing that would be asking to go into dangerous territory. Especially with someone like him.
But then why did she still find herself pondering over the question.
"So how 'bout it Chere? You in?" He tilted his head watching the way her eyes nervously moved. "You can't stand dere an' tell me you've never done anythin' wild in your whole life."
"Ah have." She stubbornly met his gaze even thought part of it wasn't true, unless you wanted to count the many times she left her homework for the last minute or when she… 'Oh my gawd!' Realizing that she hadn't actually done anything fun like this since she got here unless it was on a field trip had her quickly come to a decision. "A few minutes?" she warily asked.
"An hour tops." He agreed following her movements with his eyes when she grabbed two helmets out of the nearby table and frustratingly tossed it over to him which he easily caught.
"Ah must be goin' crazy." She muttered as she sat herself behind him.
"Might wanna hold on tight." He said over his shoulder.
"Ah'm fine." She made sure to grab the back of her seat after securing her helmet. "Where are we goin' anyways?"
"A little place not too far from here." He carefully looked around before bringing the motorcycle to life once more and began to speed out of the garage.
With a jolt she instinctively yelped and wrapped her arms around his waist much to her displeasure knowing he did that on purpose. She was too distracted trying to get comfortable in the seat while at the same time trying to control the unwanted pounding in her chest to notice the small smirk on his lips.
Luckily for her the drive was just as he'd said and before she knew it, they were sitting in a small coffee place twenty minutes from the school. She had to admit this was a cozy little place and a part of her wondered if he had been here before.
It wasn't anything spectacular, only a few customers littering the place and she found herself smiling when she continued to feel the small rush from the drive up here. It had felt like forever since she'd had the chance to ride around and feel the breeze hitting her face the way it did. Logan had always told her that he'd take her out riding, but they never had the chance since something always came up which she knew wasn't either of their faults. But just being here felt nice.
Clutching her coffee cup, she looked up in time to see him silently watching her from across the table as he lightly tapped his finger on the booth he was sitting on, making sure to still keep his eyes concealed from everyone else. She knew why girls constantly flocked towards him, heck everyone could see why. He was a mystery all on his own that she couldn't help but try and figure out. The only problem with that was she wasn't sure if she really should.
Her momma always told her that pretty packages usually came attached with trouble, and lord knows he had it written all over him.
"So let me get this straight, you really did all this just to go and grab somethin' to eat?"
"Like I said, needed a break from dat place." He repeated and she could hear the honesty coming off of him as he took a careful drink of his coffee. It wasn't that this school wasn't a good place for any mutant to stay in, but even he couldn't stand being under the same roof with a bunch of other students without the chance to get out every once in a while. And he knew if he asked Storm or the professor, they would just tell him that now wasn't the time. "Don't do well bein' in a place long."
Slowly nodding she saw him turning away to eye the people passing by the window. She fought the urge to ask him why that was, thinking that maybe that was too personal or that maybe it had to do with his profession as a thief but by the way he suddenly tried to distract himself she could see that now wasn't the time for twenty questions.
"What 'bout you?"
"Me?" her brows shot up when he finally turned back to her.
"Was dat de same reason for you or was it somethin' else?"
"Same." She quickly took a sip of her coffee not wanting to get into the fact that other than that she just felt like she needed a break, time to breathe. Feeling as though she never had the chance anymore to really get a minute alone.
Slowly smiling in acknowledgement, he let his lips curl into a devilish smile which made her suddenly look away. "An' here I thought it was just so you could spend some time with dis dashin' cajun of yours."
"Don't count your chickens before they hatch Swamp Rat." She smiled into her cup, finding his company surprisingly enjoyable.
"Just kiddin'. You need to lighten up more Chere, it looks good on you."
"I'll lighten up when I get some food in my belly." She said picking up the small menu.
Chuckling, he only raised his cup before doing the same. Now feeling better about the way she seemed to relax around him. Maybe they both in fact really needed this.

Stepping out of the kitchen with a cold soda in hand Logan momentarily stopped when he sniffed the air. Raising a questioning brow he slowly began making his way down the small hall leading out to the garage. What he wasn't expecting was to see both Scott and Warren already there and quietly eyeing an empty spot specifically reserved for someone they knew.
"Ah Logan, you're here." Scott pressed a finger to his lip in an attempt to try and keep a straight face,
"Yeah I'm here, what's with you two?" something told him he didn't like the way both men were acting and even less thrilled to find out why.
"Um we thought you were out on an errand or something…" Warren awkwardly cleared his throat.
"Obviously not." He frowned thinking that they must've pushed themselves to the brink of exhaustion until the same familiar scent reached his nose and that wasn't the only thing…
"What the…?" His mouth fell open in shock as he quickly walked over to where his motorcycle once proudly stood as a vortex of anger swirled inside him knowing that there was only one person stupid enough to try something like this. "GAMBIT!"
Cringing Warren worriedly eyed Scott who now had his huge smile out for everyone to see. "Doesn't feel so good when someone does it to you now does it Logan?"

Feeling a cold shiver running up and down his spine, Remy quickly shrugged it off as he finished off his sandwich.
"So how did you know about this place?" Rogue politely wiped her mouth after finishing hers off and watching the waitress placed down the check along with a separate note that she guessed had her phone number on it.
"Let's just say I know my way around believe it or not." Finishing off his coffee he watched her for another minute before leaning back in his seat.
"So, you must've traveled a lot huh?"
"I did." He nodded watching the way her eyes shifted to something similar to wishfulness.
"Ah always wanted to travel." She quietly admitted remembering the way she had planned her trip after graduating. Back when things were simple. Back when everything made sense. Now she wasn't sure what she was. Whether mutant or not she wasn't sure where she even belonged anymore and as the days continued to pass the growing fear of not knowing never stopped. And now with the possibility of her powers returning she never felt more alone in her life.
"If I were you, I'd find pleasure in anythin' you could find." His calm voice momentarily distracted her from her inner thoughts.
"And ah supposed you'd be the one to help me with that?" she raised a sarcastic brow.
"Always happy to help if you ask nicely." He seductively drawled which made her roll her eyes. "But as much I hate to say it, if we don't be gettin' back soon Logan will have our hides before you know it." Grabbing his wallet, he froze when he saw Rogue already placing her money down next to her cup.
"Thanks but no thanks. Ah can pay for myself."
"Only fair for me to pay since you were doin' dis homme a favor in accompanyin' me." He replied as he put his own money down and followed her all the way out.
"Ah wasn't doing anythin' but gettin' some much needed time away from the mansion. This had nothin' to do with you." She didn't spare a glance back as she walked towards the motorcycle.
"Course not." Letting his eyes look up at the slowly darkening sky he only stopped when she turned to face him.
"Besides, it's not like this was a…a…"
"Date?" Slowly smirking with mischief, he couldn't help but like the sound of that.
"It wasn't."
"Not at all." He agreed as he made to move around her. "Otherwise, it would be implied dat you'd like it to be."
"Well ah don't."
"Just as well." He said over his shoulder as he began to walk backwards until he stopped by the motorcycle.
"What does that mean?" she roughly accepted the helmet he handed to her.
Removing his sunglasses and tugging them inside his pocket he sat himself down before answering. "Because when I take you on a date Rogue… you best believe it be a night you'd always remember."
Ignoring the way his burning eyes made her involuntary shiver she determinedly shook her head. "That'll never happen."
"All thing's come to those who wait." He mumbled to himself feeling her try and keep a respectable distance between them before she reluctantly and timidly wrapped her arms around his waist again. He could feel her hesitation and frowned down when he saw her gloved hands barely making contact before he took the initiative and secure them around himself.
"Hey watch it!"
"Careful Chere. Don't want you fallin' off now, would we?" He didn't hear any more complaints from her -at least not loud enough through the roaring sound of the motorcycle.
By the time they made it home he quietly dragged the bike until it was safely parked in its place in the garage while Rogue busied herself with putting the helmets where they go. "I wonder what everyone's doin." She frowned thinking that it was unsettlingly quiet for this time of day.
"Who knows." Stretching his arms above his head he slowly walked up behind her and leaned down until he was close enough to her ear. "Better for us non?" he seductively whispered.
Jerking back when she felt him too close, she momentarily turned to see the satisfied smirk on his face before he walked pass her and as quietly as humanly possible opened the door leading to the main floor.
"Don't do that!" she whisper shouted.
"Don't do what?" He innocently glanced back over his shoulder and waved his hand to let her know to follow.
"I so hate you." She briefly narrowed her eyes before following him into the main lobby and silently up the stairs. Now she knew this wasn't just all in her head. Typically, this place would still be littered with people in preparation for getting a good nights rest, so when she continuously felt a nagging feeling in the back of her head she couldn't help but frantically looking around.
"Relax Chere, it's just as I told you." He quietly spoke as he kept taking the stairs two at a time.
"How are you not worried we're goin' to be caught?"
"Ain't worried when you be de one who installed all of de security 'round dis place." He grinned proudly. "No one be de wiser."
"And yet somehow that doesn't make me feel any better." When she finally made it to the top section where it would take her to the girls' wing of the mansion and safely to her room, she felt her shoulders relax until he grabbed her gloved hand in an attempt to stop her. "Gambit?"
"Thanks for doin' de honors of accompnayin' me today." Typically he wouldn't hesitate to do the gentlemanly thing to walk a girl to her door, but something told him that wasn't a good idea at the moment, least someone saw them and given she had a boyfriend he didn't want her to have to deal with the after effects of people talking.
"It's fine. Ah guess this wasn't too bad." She gave him a small smile expecting him to turn and walk off but found herself having to take a step back when he took two more steps up the stairs until he was at eye level with her. confusingly tilting her head, she tried to figure out what he was thinking as his ruby eyes continued to fixate on her as if he was trying to do the same.
After what felt like eternity, he slowly raised her gloved hand up to his lips and just with the briefest of touches brushed his lips against them. "Bonne nuit Rogue." His voice whispered like silk, and she found herself only nodding.
It took her a few more seconds to remember herself before she retracted her hand. "Night."
He waited until she finished going up the rest of the stairs before finally pulling his eyes way.
Quietly closing the door behind herself she leaned her back flat against the wood with a small smile before briskly walking over and getting ready for bed. It was times like these she was glad she finally had her own room without needing to explain where she'd been.
When she began changing, she felt something in the pocket of her jeans and pulling it out realized it was the money she had put down in the coffee place. "Why that slimy little devil…"
Silently letting his feet lead the way to his room, Remy found himself smiling knowing that she must've found the money by now. If he had to sum up how his day went then he could safely say it was a good day. He hadn't planned that she would actually agree to join him on his little impromptu outing, but in the end he was glad that she did.
Even now he could still see the small fire in her eyes when he challenged her to go, knowing that she probably would refuse but come to find out he was pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoyed himself today.
"Gambit…" a hair-raising growl rumbled near him one he knew all too well.
Gazing down the hall to his room he could vividly make out the dark silhouette of the man before six dangerous claws protruded from between his knuckles.
And just like that…his good day suddenly came to an end.
