Kurt wakes up in the morning, unmotivated to stand up. Instead he takes his phone. That doesn't keep him busy for long so he decides to watch his boyfriend. His beautiful boyfriend who looks so sweet when he sleeps. Only now he realizes that Blaine didn't wake him up during the night.
"Blaine! Hey honey?!" Kurt says, shaking his boyfriend awake. The man quickly opens his eyes, thinking something must've happened "Kurt! Are you okay?". The only man smiles "Good morning". Realizing that his boyfriend is fine Blaine leans back on the pillow again "God Kurt you scared me. Good morning sweetheart". "How did you sleep?" the chestnut haired man asks. "Okay. Yesterday was a long day. Why?" the other man asks back. "You didn't woke up at night" Kurt says.
"You're right" Blaine smiles "I didn't". "I'm so proud of you honey" Kurt says, pulling his boyfriend closer to give him a kiss. "Also now that you're awake I'm bored" Kurt then says with a grin. The older man laughs "You're unbelievable". "You love me" Kurt answers and Blaine nods "I do very much". "I love you too" Kurt answers.
"How about I make us breakfast and while we eat I work a bit? The faster I correct these papers the earlier I have time to do whatever we want" Blaine proposes. "How many papers?" the younger man asks and Blaine grimaces "Many. I started Monday when you were at my place but with you in the hospital I couldn't concentrate and yesterday I was too busy so I have to catch up". "Okay. I'll just take my book and my phone with me to keep myself busy. I'm in your company and there will be coffee" Kurt smiles and slowly gets up.
15 minutes later the couple sits at the table. They both have a plate of breakfast and a coffee next to them. Kurt is on his phone to finish some last settings and give it final touches while Blaine sits on the other side, pen in his hand and head bowed over a stack of papers.
Kurt smiles. He still needs a lock screen and a home screen. For his home screen he takes a picture of his mom and dad, the one he has next to his bed. For his lock screen he takes a picture of him, Rachel and Santana for now but he wants a second one with Blaine so he can change it at home where he doesn't have to hide. But he will take care of that later. Later when Blaine isn't topless. Because right now Kurt still wears a pajama and Blaine only sweatpants. Before he always wore a shirt when he stayed over to cover up his scars and to avoid the possibility of making the girls feel uncomfortable. Besides Kurt no one else knows about his scars or the bash, so Blaine thinks, but after not waking up at night he didn't care if he wears a shirt or not. He starts to feel really comfortable around here.
A while after a door opens and Burt comes out of Rachels room "Morning". "Good morning" Kurt and Blaine greet. "There's still coffee if you want" Blaine adds without looking up. He wants to finish and finally spend some time with his boyfriend.
Burt joins the couple at the table with a newspaper in his hand. Comfortable silence fills the room as the three men drink their coffee and eat breakfast. From time to time Burt looks around. To his son who reads his book and to Blaine who- what is he doing? "Blaine what are you doing?" the Hummel man asks. Now Blaine looks up and explains "I have to correct some papers from my classes at NYADA. I have to give them back over the next week and I fell behind a little". The older man nods. Now that Blaine looked up Burt notices a scar on his chest but decides to not say anything as he doesn't know what kind of backstory it has.
About hald an hour later the girls also come out of Santanas room, early for a Sunday. "I smell coffee" Rachel greets and Santana says "And I see a half-naked man in our kitchen. Good morning Blaine, Hummels". "Good morning Santana. Rachel coffee on the counter" Blaine greets back. "Good paper you three by the way. I just finished Santanas but I can still change your grade if you make fun of me" he adds and laughs when Santanas eyes widen "We agreed on no teacher stuff here".
"That was a joke. You get them back on Wednesday when everyone else does. Besides Kurt who gets it now because he's absent for this week and if anyone asks I send it per mail" Blaine says "And I need to do teacher stuff here because students want their papers back and I didn't do anything over the past week".
"Do you always plan what you're telling people at school?" Burt interrupts the conversation and all four nod. "We don't want to blow Blaines and my cover and the girls agreed to help us since day one" Kurt adds. "That's smart but sounds very exhausting" Burt laughs. "It's cool that you're so chill about it. I think a lot of people would flip when they hear that a student and a teacher date" Blaine says. He'll just take a little break from correcting papers to talk with the others.
"To be honest I wasn't sure at first but my son is happy and that's the most important thing for me. I met you and got to know you. You're a good guy and you're always there for my boy. You two are happy and comfortable with each other" Burt says.
Kurt and Blaine smile at each other but from the side Blaine can feel Santanas eyes on him "If you want I can put on a shirt Santana. Just tell me" he says but the young woman shakes her head "What's that on your chest?". Kurt told her about scars but he never said where or how big. "I was about to ask the same" Rachel says and Blaine can even see the curiosity in Burts eyes. All eyes are on him but Kurt is the one who just smiles encouragingly at him.
The curly haired man sighs but then tells "I came out in my first year of high school and got bullied. At the end of the year a group of boys bashed me. My mom called the ambulance when she found me and after the summer I transferred to Dalton. I mostly recovered by then and there I got the chance to fully regain my strength again. At first it was hard to deal with what happened but it got better and my friends there really helped me. They got me pretty bad but I'm fine now so it's okay". He feels arms around him from behind and wonders how he didn't realize that Kurt got up from his chair.
He looks up, seeing his boyfriend smile down to him. "I love you" the chestnut haired man says and when Blaine answers "I love you too" he leans in for a kiss. In the corner of his eyes he sees the papers spread out on the table. "Santana you got an A-. Rachel you got an A" Kurt starts before Blaine covers them up. "Hey you said I get mine now anyway" Kurt pouts. "Say sorry and I give it to you" the other man says. "That's blackmailing but okay. I'm sorry. I got curious" Kurt apologizes and Blaine gives him his paper "You got an A as well".
"Oh and insider news: Marisol- Ms. Perez will be back when you graduate. Her mom is doing much better. But I'll still come to watch you all perform and at your graduation" Blaine announces and like she could smell that they were talking about her Blaine gets a facetime call from Marisol.
"Kurt I hope it was okay but I told her about us and about you. She accepts it and won't tell anyone. Can you take the call quickly? I go and put on a shirt" Blaine says and before Kurt can answer he's already gone. Kurt sits down where his boyfriend sat before and accepts the call "Hello Ms. Perez. Blaine will be with you in a second". "Hola Kurt. I'm glad to see that you're doing okay. Blaine told me what happened. Que tal? How are you?" the woman asks.
"I'm doing better and will recover fully. I'm staying at home for the week and have some appointments but after that I'll be back at NYADA for the last two weeks. Blaine told us that you're coming back too. Do you already know when exactly?" Kurt asks and the woman nods "A week after you. That's what I want to talk about with Blaine".
"Talk to me about what?" the curly haired man asks as he sits down next to his boyfriend. "I know now when I'll be coming back. So I wanted to talk to you about it and plan everything a little. I hope I don't interrupt something?" she asks. "No it's okay. Do you want to say Hi to Rachel and Santana too?" he asks and both girls wave into the camera before sitting down again. "I'll make it quick. Looks like you're busy with breakfast" Marisol says.
"I'm back in two weeks. There's still one week left to teach and I want to ask you if you want me to teach. Because if you'd be okay with it I would like you to finish the year and just watch you with the students and how you teach. I could also help you with the students of Kurts class to get them prepared for their finals but it would be up to you" Marisol explains "So what do you say?". "I can teach the last week too. You concentrate on settling back in. Should I come to pick you up at the airport?" the curly haired man asks. The woman shakes her head "No. You concentrate on your boyfriend". "I don't mind" Kurt says quickly from the other side and the other man nods agreeing "Neither do I".
"Muy bien. That would be very kind of you" she smiles. "Of course. Just text me when you're supposed to land and I'll be there" Blaine says. "I will . Have a good day you two or four or whatever. I have to prepare lunch now" Marisol says. She waves in the camera "Adios" and hears multiple voices saying goodbye before she ends the call.
Only now Kurt allows himself to laugh. "What's so funny?" his boyfriend asks. Still laughing Kurt answers "You're wearing your shirt inside out". Looking down and realizing that Kurt tells the truth Blaine quickly takes it off and puts it on the right way while the others join Kurts laughing. Eventually Blaine joins too, happy that Kurt is still able to laugh after what happened.
In the moment of joy Kurt takes out his phone again and opens the camera "Blaine". At the sound of his name Blaine looks to his boyfriend, realizing he took a picture. "Kurt" he sighs but the man just smiles "It's cute and from now on also my lock screen when we're not in school". At that Blaine smiles widely "You really are unbelievable". "Well it's good that you love me then" Kurt laughs and the other man nods "Lucky you".
He can't wait until Kurt finally recovers so they can do more fun stuff again. Outside and inside. He can't wait until Kurt graduated so they don't have to be a secret anymore. That's the moment when it hits Blaine. Students can only graduate if they pass all exams in all their subjects. Physical and theoretical. What happens with Kurts practical dance final? His wrist won't be healed by then and broken ribs don't heal that quick either. He knows it because he has been there. He needs to talk to Kurt about that.
