"Last time on Total Drama Across the Multiverse! Another challenge from Multiverse Edition returns! This one being the Kungfubots! But even tougher and more powerful than last time!"
Footage of the teams returning to the abandoned film lot to see the new and improved 2.0 revision of the Kungfubots was shown.
"But, even with a return of a challenge comes a price. And that price being double elimination! All the teams had to do to make sure they were safe was to win two rounds. That's it. And in this case, each team would have 6 participants in total, making it a total of 18 players, triple what was there last time."
Footage of Chris explaining the challenge along with Susan and Mary explaining how the robots work was shown. Footage Chris doing random picks for the first round was also shown.
"And the improvements definitely showed themselves. From Doyle using a Goku Kungfubot to Dwayne somehow creating an entire explosion with a trap, to Jotaro stopping time, somehow. I mean, I could tell you the rest, but just go watch the episode itself. Just pure insanity."
Footage of the three rounds including Jotaro stopping time, Becky flying, Valorn and Ryoma fusing after the former unlocked Elemental Titan Mode again and the screen turning black with nothing but black feathers being seen afterwards to secure the Kings' victory was shown.
"In the end, the Kings won, thanks to Sebastian and Octavia. I went back and I still don't know what happened. It just went by too quick. Regardless though, there was solid enough evidence to prove they won, so the win was rightfully given to them. Which leads to the eliminations."
Footage of Bass punching a hole through the wall of the confessional was shown before the show cut to footage of everyone having to use the voting device from Action for today due to Bass doing that.
"The next two to be scratched off the list: Mr. Wolf and Becky. And for the former, it's pretty crazy that he was able to potentially save Dwayne from getting eliminated during the game as he was able to get immunity. And no, that wasn't even planned out from the start. That was just how things ended. As for the latter, she left pretty happy after knowing that Rick would record some crossover special. Seriously, what is up with some of these people leaving here happy? You're supposed to be sad darn it! Not to mention she left by flying out herself into a portal Rick made. Which means I didn't even get to eliminate her my way. Like come on, that takes away the fun of coming up with these different elimination methods!"
Footage of the two eliminations in question were shown.
"Hopefully though, that doesn't happen this episode. And maybe, fingers crossed, they leave here sad. Or ticked off. That works too. But we'll see, on this episode of Total…..Drama….Across the Multiverse!"

"Look man, all I'm sayin' is that he's been off the past few days." Aomine said to Kagami. He, Adrien, Kise, Kagami and, with her insisting to do so, Weiss were all discussing Akashi at a table outside during brunch time. It was three days since the last challenge and by Aomine's request, were keeping an eye on him after his behavior in the last challenge. Murasakibara was there but it didn't take long for him to exclude himself, believing that they were overreacting by doing something this extreme.
"Well, we did what you said and he looked okay. At this point, I don't really understand what else you could want us to do." Kagami said, which is pretty funny coming from him as he was secretly keeping an eye on Bakura too. Other than the odd eating at times that came from him occasionally, there wasn't much else that seemed out of the ordinary to him. But even then, he sort of understood that, considering some of what they were subjected to eating some days, anyone would be eating like they were starving.
"Yeah... to be honest, I'm kinda at a loss myself. And I don't know about you, but I think I'm getting tired of getting looked at weird by Mayuzumi and some others, like I'm some stalker."
"Oh, now you're tired of it." Kise said sarcastically.
"It was for a good cause. I couldn't care less at first."
"That's because he's gotten used to being called a weirdo." Weiss joked.
"A weirdo that you voluntarily train, watch movies with and..."
"What? What was the last part?"
He looked away, trying to look nonchalant but was failing at it as he was blushing. "N-never mind."
"Yeah, I think that's my cue to get outta here." Kagami said before getting up from the table.
"Hey, if we're being honest, he's actually looked a lot better, at least in terms of how he's been with people around here." Adrien remarked, referring to Akashi.
"But I mean, he was okay with people before we did all of this too. If we really want to make any type of headway on knowing anything, it'll be when he plays." Kise replied.
"I hope so. Let's just hope the next one is at least a little bit tame." Aomine said.
"This is Chris. You know full well it's probably not going to be." Weiss said.
"I mean, the grudgby challenge wasn't all that bad."
"And for one tame challenge, there's ten insane/partially-insane ones."
"Weiss! We need your help with something!" Ruby said, suddenly running to them.
"Sure. What is it?"
"Come on and I'll explain everything." She said, all but dragging Weiss along, with her just shrugging at the three as this was happening.
"Hey." Adrien started, getting Aomine's attention. He turned to look at him. "Just remember that we're not the only ones that care about him. He's got teammates that are more than willing to help him too."
"Yeah I know. At least some of them anyway." He replied.
"I'm sure Todd and Louie would be willing to help him too."
"If it's helps themselves, maybe. Anyways, I'm gonna get outta here. Later." He said, before getting up and leaving the table himself.
Meanwhile outside, Kagami was stretching before grabbing his neck and rolling his head around. In the background, Mayuzumi looked as if he was smiling a bit while sitting with Lucy as she looked to have been writing something.
"Smiling? That's a rarity for you." She said to him, noticing it out the corner of his eye.
"And?" He replied, quickly getting it off his face.
"No need to be rude. It's just an observation."
He only blinked at her.
"The same way I said don't judge a book by its cover when you didn't expect me to be a writer is the same thing I can say to you too. As much as you want to make it seem like you're some rude guy that just wants to be by himself, I think this and some of the other things you've done say otherwise." When she looked back over at him after stopping writing again, he was gone. "How does he even do that!? Where does he even go!?"
Kagami was getting ready to go exercise, putting headphones on and amping himself with the music he chose to play. "Ha, sicker than your average, poppa twist-" He started to repeat before he was suddenly grabbed and picked up by Bakura, covering his mouth as he did as his phone and headphones dropped to the ground. Kagami tried to get out of the hold but couldn't.
"What the... hell!?" Kagami said, but was muffled.
"Did you really think you could get away with watching me you fool? You didn't exactly make it a secret that you were doing it either." Yami Bakura said to him. Kagami was still trying to get out of the hold but couldn't. Whatever he was saying was also muffled.
"You should be glad. I could have made this a lot more of a nightmare for you if I wanted to. But, someone like you isn't even fun to torture. Not even worth a minor shadow game." He continued.
Kagami tried to say something else.
"Why you ask? Why what? Why am I doing this? Why do I want to be on this show? Why would I decide to dispose of you this way instead of letting you live? You're going to have to be specific."
Kagami's vision began to go black.
"Speak up. I can't hear you." He taunted, pointing to his ear before Kagami eventually fell unconscious as he could hear nothing but his evil laughter.
Suddenly, Kagami's vision suddenly came back, with him jumping up and looking around. He was outside, in the same area that he was in seconds ago. Though for whatever reason, things seemed to have been slightly darker. When he squinted, he noticed that there were leaves swaying back and forth. He looked up and realized that he was under a tree.
Laughter was heard as well. But the laughter was heard from... Akko, May, Becky, Happy and Natsu?
"When I figure out what you guys did!" Lucy warned. It turned out that someone drew all over her face while she fell asleep writing. They were off in the distance from Kagami. He looked at his phone and saw that is was 1:45 PM. He sighed.
"Yeah, I think I'm done with horror movies." He said to himself before getting up and stretching, at the very least, relieved that he was only dreaming all of that. Passing by and seeing Akashi and Huey playing chess together also made him realize that the talk they had about Akashi was also done yesterday, as it was actually four days since their last challenge, not three. And for the most part, it was the same as how he dreamt it.
Akashi made the final move on Huey to secure his victory.
"So close!" Huey said, disappointed that he couldn't beat Akashi as they were both down to their last few pieces, but Akashi was able to completely outplay him to win.
"Good game. It could have gone either way." Akashi said to him.
"Yeah sure. You're just saying that to be modest. You've beaten me in 11 games in a row."
"Twelve."
"Yeah. Now twelve. Don't worry, I know you didn't mean for that to come off as rude or cocky. If you played like this in the challenges, I honestly don't know if we'd lose. That was a joke by the way. I still think we'd lose some challenges just based off how good the other teams are."
"Yes. I am aware of my previous shortcomings."
"Okay, maybe I shouldn't have-"
Akashi held out a hand to stop him. "It's completely fine. No need to apologize. And don't worry, I don't think you'll have to worry about that anymore."
"Positive mindset. I like it." Huey said before looking at Akashi, unintentionally getting a quick look into his eyes. He didn't know why, but something felt, different about the way he looked at him. But still felt the same at the same time?
"Anyway, would you like to play again?"
"I think I'll try my luck at another game. Not too keen on getting my 13th loss in a row."
"Okay. What do you want to play?"
"Hmm... I'm fresh out of ideas actually. Got anything?"
"I could show you how to play Shogi."
"That's... actually a great idea!"
"Alright then. I'll go and get the board."
While he was doing that, Penny had just finished listening to music with Octavia.
"Don't just say you like a song just because I recommended it to you. It's better to be your own person." Octavia said to her.
"Rat Yulaw said the same thing." Penny recalled.
"That's because it's true. Look, I'm going to be honest, as much as I'd like for you to genuinely like the music that I listen to, I know that not everyone shares my preferences. And that's okay. That's what make people unique."
"I suppose that is what is why Team RWBY can get along so well with each other, despite having different things that they like. For example, friend Blake is not interested in games, but the others are. Like video games for instance. Even though friend Weiss does not seem to be as good as Yang and Ruby."
"I think of people as like stars. Even though all of them are different in some way, shape or form, somehow, some way, they can still find a way to connect to one another. Like a constellation. And even if they don't connect, they can still coexist together in space. But then again, unlike stars... that applies for some people, not all."
"What do you mean?"
She realized what she had said on the last part. "It's nothing." She switched subjects.
"From what I recall, when people say that, and match that with your expressions and level of breathing, also known as body language, it is more than 'nothing'."
Octavia sighed. "You know, sometimes you can be too innocent for your own good." She said before heading to the bathroom, even though she actually didn't have to go.

Octavia(Storm Kings):
"I know she didn't mean any harm with her asking that, but still, it's just not something I feel comfortable talking to her about. No offense."
***End Confessional***
"And done! Eat your heart out Bennett! And Bren!" Hailey declared, admiring her now finished handiwork. That handiwork being a watch designed similarly to the communicator that Toxsa wore.
"Sweet! Can I be your guinea pig?" Scott asked.
"Don't say that. Now you're kinda making me feel bad."
"But guinea pigs are cute!"
"Well, I mean yeah but... now you're making me feel even worse!"
"Why?"
"Because if I say no then I'm also saying you're not cute, but if I say yes, then I'm saying you're cute! Look, why are we talking about this? Just put it on and try it!"
"So you're saying I can be your guinea pig?"
"No! I mean yes! I mean- please put on the watch!" She said, trying to hide the fact that she was blushing.
As he puts on the watch, he says, "60 left. But, when you how everyone acts, you'd think we didn't have any eliminations on this show at all."
"Why?"
"I don't know. It's just, with 10 million dollars on the line... Hailey, you do realize that is a lot of money right? Like, life changing a lot."
"As long as you don't blow it all at once on something, yeah. I still don't get it though. Did you think we were all supposed to be pulling each other's hair out because of it? I say that, and that might be a challenge in the future... but that's beside the point."
"Uh, maybe not that extreme. But maybe not as relaxed as it is now."
"Shouldn't that be a good thing though? I never really noticed that until you mentioned it, but I personally like it that way."
"Excuse me." Lucy started, approaching them.
"What's up?"
"What happened to your face?" Scott asked.
"That's what I was about to ask about." Lucy replied.
"Whatever it was, we had nothing to do with it, we swear." Hailey said.
"I know. But I think I do know who does have something to do with it. Where's Todd?"
"Not sure. Sorry."
"I actually saw him pass by like five minutes ago. He went somewhere that way." Scott answered, pointing to his right.
"Okay, great. Thanks."
"Looks like he can't catch a break." Scott said, referring to Todd.
"Who Todd? He does that to himself. I do not feel bad for him in the slightest." Hailey said. "Anyways, back to what I was asking earlier. Isn't people, for the most part, acting that way a good thing though?"
"I never said it wasn't. I just found it surprising that's all. Heck, even the interns are nice. Just goes to show that even if you're from different worlds, you can still get along really well. And that, is what I think is the best part of coming here. Well, I mean 10 million's awesome too but, you gotta think, we started at ninety...ninety-six? Then went up to ninety-eight. And then there's going to be more on the way, pushing this past over one-hundred people competing. While that's great, the saddest part about that, is that there's going to be hundreds of people that come here with dreams of winning that type of money, for whatever reason, and those dreams are going to be crushed. Which is why I said everyone being like this to each other is the best part. Because at least everyone gets to walk away knowing they had at least a few good memories or times to hang their hat on. I mean, think about it, why do you think Becky left here without even being sad she was gone? The only thing she was worried about was not being able to watch a crossover with Bennett and Riley.
"Huh. I never thought that. At least in that much detail." She says as she puts on another that she made and went to find and tap the mail button which brought up an entire virtual keyboard along with a screen to actually see what you were typing, as if you were using a computer. She began typing a message. "Speaking of 60. I think it's pretty crazy that we've gotten to that point and we're still here."
"Why? You do remember that the point of us coming here was to make sure we got far, right?"
"Well yeah. But, when you compare us to what we're up against, statistically speaking, I don't think we would have lasted past 10 episodes."
"Statistics? Bah. Numbers can't predict everything." Scott replied dismissively. "I mean, look at Johnny and how everyone said he should have been gone a lot earlier. Let me say this, if numbers don't lie, then how come we get asked questions about which expressions aren't true in math classes?"
The last part caused Hailey to laugh. "Okay, that one was good. Now, check your email please?"
"My email?" He took his phone out his pocket.
"No with this, silly. Go to the email." She instructed, pointing to his wrist.
"Wait, there's a mail function on this thing? Neat! Can it play games too?"
"Actually..." She tried to see if she could get to the classic dinosaur running game when there's no internet. And it turns out she could. "Yes. As a matter of fact."
"Double neat! Also, looks like I have a message! From... you?"
"It's a test message. Try to open it."
When he did, he could read it perfectly as it said "U r the best".
"I am the best? Daww."
"Well, it's true. Now come on, I gotta return the original to Toxsa."
"But aren't you going to make more? What about everyone else? But wait, they have what Reagan made, so I can see why you wouldn't."
"Actually, I do plan on making more. I decided to do this to try to improve how we talk compared to what we use now."
"Oh. Sweet. Guess you'd be wearing three watches now."
"Three? What do you-" She hit her forehead with the palm of her hand, realizing something. "I completely forgot. Alright, shouldn't be much of a problem. We can just merge them together."
"Uh, I'm lost. Are we still talking about the watches?"
"Don't worry about it. Now come on, first order of business is taking this to Toxsa. He'll never trust me with any of his stuff again if we lose this."
Meanwhile, another pair were having a similar talk about who remained. That pair being the Bennetts.
"Like I said, I don't think I could have predicted any of this." Older Bennett said.
"I know. And we haven't even gotten to show off the suit yet. Now, I honestly think we have a chance to actually win this!" Young Bennett exclaimed, beaming with excitement as he aimed a wrist laser at a tree and blew a small hole in the middle of it.
"I know, right!?" His older self agreed until he realized what his counterpart had just said. "Woah, woah, slow your role. I like the confidence but let's not get too carried away here. We've got a long ways to go before we get to that. Don't forget what you came here to do."
"Yeah, I know. But be honest, don't you think I'm handling that pretty well so far?"
"What?"
"I said,"
"No, not you. H-hold on a second." Old Bennett said before stopping the projection.
"What was that about?" Young Bennett said aloud.
Future Earth(Saving Me)
Bennett took off his helmet. It was in fact, just something he made up just so he could stop projecting to his younger self.
"Edee, I need some advice." He started.
"Always, sir!" Edee-34 said, in his optimism mode.
"Brutal honesty... level 4." He commanded, changing Edee's mode.
"Lay it on me, sir."
"Okay. I just got asked by the kid on if he's doing well so far when it comes to relationships. But I don't know what to tell him."
"Well, look at the life band and just go off that."
"I could easily go off the numbers but, I don't want his head to get bigger. Then he starts making mistakes and makes things worse, potentially getting himself eliminated in the process as well. But if I tell him no, he's not going to believe it and say that I'm being way too overbearing again."
"You want to know what I think?"
"Yes. That's literally why I asked you."
"That you're overthinking this. This is one of those times where it's up to you to decide what's best."
"Thanks. That was sarcastic by the way if you didn't know."
"I noticed. But I'm being serious. Whichever choice you make, there is going to be a reaction to it that you'll find to be negative regardless. So, go with whichever you think is best."
"Ah, pick your poison. I see now."
"Pretty much."
"Alright then. Just gonna have to see how this goes." He said before getting back in the seat on the projection machine and putting the helmet back on.
Present Earth
He reappeared in front of his younger self.
"What was that? I didn't think you could actually hear other people while doing this." Young Bennett asked.
"Neither did I. The more you know. Anyways, to answer your question, I'd say you're making a bit of headway."
"Really? That's great!"
"Just don't think that that's the end of it. We have to see this through to the end."
"Right. Yeah. I'll keep that in mind."
"Good."
"Now, let's go find Ruby. Got to make sure I get to the first game on time."
"What game?"
"D&D I think it's called?"
"What and what?"
"I was just as confused as you. Until they explained it to me. Pretty interesting. Now I'm actually going to watch and see how it plays."
"Alright then. Well, I'll be back whenever the challenge starts."
Future Earth(Saving Me)
"D&D. You can't say they're not having an effect on him that's for sure." Old Bennett said, taking off the helmet.
"Isn't that a good thing though? At least he's willing to learn some new things and not brush everything uninteresting off as dumb or insignificant." Edee-34 said.
"True. A lot better than when I was his age that's for sure. I already said this before, but I just hope nothing bad comes out of it. When there's one effect, there's almost always an inverse one."
Back to the Present...
"I'm telling you it wasn't me!" Todd insisted as he was being confronted by Lucy about the drawing on her face.
"I don't see anyone else here being as immature as you, so it had to have been you!" She insisted.
"Look, I may do a lot of things! Including what you're accusing me of, but I swear it wasn't me this time!"
"Okay, then who else do you think did it? You can't say Miyuki because for once, he's actually busy. Dwayne said it himself and I don't see him just lying about something like that. And Louie has been inside for most of the day, something that Mayuzumi confirmed as he never saw him pass by. Say what you will about him, but I don't see him as a liar either."
"First off, there's not much you can say about that guy because he barely says anything! And second, how could Dwayne know that? Unless he was with him for most if not all of the day, which I refuse to believe he was!"
"Actually, he was."
"Oh. Well it still wasn't me! Remember what Jotaro said! You're gonna accuse me of something, you better have some good evidence to prove it."
"Curse you Jotaro..." She said under her breath. "Okay fine. I don't have evidence you did it. But eventually, you'll tell on yourself somehow."
"Never going to happen. You know why? Because I didn't do it! Now stop harassing me over something that isn't even involving a challenge!"
"Well stop drawing on people that are sleeping!"
"Hey! Hey! Guys! Come on let's be civil here! You wanna take this somewhere? Take it to the challenge!" Chris called out to the two as he approached them.
"Well, look at it this way, if we win, I won't even have to worry about it because you'll be gone!"
"Don't just assume you'll win. Underestimate me at your peril lady!" Todd replied.
"This lady is more than capable of beating you easily in anything, even without spirits."
"I'll tell you the same thing I said to Kageyama a few days ago. You wanna bet on it?"
"Absolutely! And if we win, you have to... hmm... let me come back on that!"
"Oh no, you're not getting out of this that easy. We have to play each other for this bet to be valid. And if I win, you have to be my servant for a day!"
Lucy pictured herself in a maid outfit serving grapes to him.
"I am not doing that!"
"You can always back out."
"No way! You've got yourself a deal. And if I win, you have to... clean my room for the next week!"
"Clean your room? That's it? Isn't that just a testament for how lazy you are?"
"I actually keep the places I stay in clean and organized, so no it doesn't."
"Then what's even the point of me cleaning it?"
"Wow. You guys suck at this." Chris said.
"What do you mean I suck? I came up with something. She didn't."
"I mean yeah but, it could be better. So, how about I put in my two cents. Whoever loses has to clean the bathrooms. And the main lodge. And the economy planes. And the confessional. And the winning team's rooms. This includes making sure their clothes are washed. And dried. And folded. And has to eat whatever the last place team eats. And you have to eat it. They get a choice. You don't. Even if it's neither of your teams that's last. You don't eat it, you're out of the season. And Chef will be watching you to make sure you eat it. And you're going to do for every single day until we get to the end of episode 40's challenge. I was going to say the next News episode, but I know one of the hosts would get a whiff of what's going on and start it early, feeling sorry for you. So yeah, no loopholes for this one. And I'll make sure Sebastian doesn't help you in any of the cleaning. How? I'll just get him to clean where I stay at. And the Playa De Los Losers until it ends." He explained. "So, if you agree on those terms, shake on it."
"How about it? Wanna back out? That seems like a lot for your lazy arms to handle." Lucy taunted Todd.
"I can't wait to see your face when you lose. Get ready to eat crow! Deal!" Todd said, shaking hands to lock the agreement.
"You know what? That's a good idea for what the losing team will eat for the day. Crow! But that's it! Agreement's locked. Verified by me! If one of you back out before the day's over and it's not for a valid reason like injury, or outside challenge disruption, you automatically forfeit. Oh, and if you tell anyone else about this before the challenge is over, you forfeit too! Now let's go!"

Todd(Storm Kings):
"I'm serious! I have no clue what she's talking about. I didn't draw on her face. And if I win this, this will prove I didn't do it. And I'm not worried about if it's a fighting challenge. Because even if it is, I bet she'll get overconfident. And boom! I hit her with this!" He said, pulling out the blue Monsuno core and showing it to the camera. "What a way to make an entrance don't you think?"

Lucy(Radical Rats):
"I gave him a chance. He should have backed out. Now he's going to regret it. I'm sure pretty much everyone else on the island will thank me for what's going to happen. Because it's definitely well deserved."

Everyone was gathered where the planes were.
"Alright, this time, we're taking the planes! So, with that being said..." Chris changes the planes to their respective classes for each team. "Head on board everyone!"
"Is it okay if you make one tiny little exception and have me get on their plane?" Tsukishima asked, after seeing that his team would have Launchpad fly them today.
"No!" Chris said. "Everyone has to fly with their team, no exceptions. Don't care if your lady-friend's on the other team or not."
"That's not-" He looked down and grabbed his nose in frustration. "It's the same class, what's the difference?"
"The difference is if I let you do it, someone else is going to ask and then a whole can of worms are going to be opened. There'd be no point of the class system then. So no. Now stop whining and get on your plane before we leave you here."
"If you live, I'll let you try this." Sucy said to Tsukishima, referring to the newly made potion she had capped.
"...No thanks." He answered.
Once everyone boarded, with Natsu making sure he ate the medicine he needed to not get sick, the planes took off.

"Well, did you figure out the culprit?" Becky asked Lucy, the marker drawings still on her face.
"Yeah. It was Todd." She answered.
"Well, glad you found the culprit but... why'd you leave it on your face?"
"I didn't have time to wash it out."
"Really?"
"Yes, really. Do you really think I want this on my face?"
"Considering you left it there, I'd assume so." Hiruma remarked.
"Well, I don't."
"Too bad. It suits you."
"No it doesn't!"
"How about I draw on your face next?" Hiruma offered Mamori, suddenly pulling out a marker.
"Don't even think about it!" She quickly yelled out before turning around to Sendo behind him, who had his arms behind his back, eyes closed trying to relax the best he could in these subpar accommodations.
"There'd better be a backup passer on that football team o' yours. That's all I'm gonna say." He warned, not even opening his eyes, which caused Hiruma to quickly turn around and cackle.

Becky (Radical Rats):
"Okay, you're not gonna believe this. But it was actually..." She held in a laugh. "Me!" She then started to uncontrollably laugh out loud. After laughing for several seconds, she wiped away the tears. "Poor Todd. I bet she wore him out about it too. Once this challenge is over and she cools down I'll tell her it was me. Sure, she'll get mad at me a little. And Todd probably will too, but I'm not really worried about him. As for Lucy, at least she won't be as mad about it as now. I know what you're gonna say. I'm a hypocrite for pulling such an immature prank and getting annoyed at people like Miyuki for doing things like that. And okay, maybe you'd have a point. But it's only one time. I'm not gonna make a trend of it. Just thought it would be funny to do that. The same way I thought it would be funny to do that when Rally was sleeping one day at the hospital."

Kings' Plane(First Class)
Pilot: Doyle
Eliza sighed. "I will never get tired of being on this plane." She remarked, leaning back on the seat, clearly enjoying herself. And unknowingly leaning back on Courtney, who was caught off guard by this.
"Hey!"
"Sorry." Eliza apologized before leaning back forward a bit.
"Out like a light." Courtney remarked to Weiss, referring to Aomine, who was asleep in another seat next to Reimu. "You must really wear him out."
"Actually no. Stamina's never been a problem for him. Even when we first started doing this." Weiss replied.
"Guess that makes sense, considering he plays basketball."
"Not exactly. No offense to him, but you'd think fighting grimm would automatically make me the one with better endurance. But no. He's been excellent. Never once asked to take a break because he's tired."
"I've only ever heard things about the training. But I don't think I ever actually heard it from the person that's in charge of it. How is it with him? If you don't mind me asking."
"It's been good. He's been very responsive about what I've asked him to do. Even when I asked Maki to help out."
"Huh. Considering how he is with things like getting a job, I would have thought he would have had at least a little pushback."
"Nope. None of it."
"Well, guess this is definitely a case of not judging a book by his cover. Because his personality at times definitely doesn't make it seem like it would go that smooth. But then again, if I'm being honest, I don't think I've done a good job when it comes to having a social game with anyone around here."
"Really? I never would have guessed. Then again, I'm only speaking from this season, not the last one, since we were on opposite teams. And also, it's called relationships, not social game. And with you saying that, I can actually see why." Weiss said, one eyebrow slightly raised after hearing her say 'social game'.
"What?"
" 'Social game'? Come on. Look, I can fully understand playing the game strategically. After all, we're all here to win. But you're letting this have way too much influence on your time here. I know this is an easy 'Easy for you to say when you've only been here two seasons', but seriously, I'm only saying this to try to help you grow further. You've been here for... how many seasons again?"
"Action, Island, All-Stars, Multiverse Edition, World Tour, now this one. So, six."
"Okay, so you've been on six seasons. I get it, you want to win. But, forgive me for being cliche, but it's not everything. Don't you think it's way better to win and have people that root for you when you do it? People that'll be genuinely happy for you if you win? And I mean, really root for you. Just like what happened when Falcon, Marinette, Luz and Huey competed."
"You want to know something? It's funny you said something about relationships. When your relationship with Aomine has worked out way better than either of my relationships. Heck, I look at Emma's relationship with Noah and how much that one has worked out too. My second one with Scott, lasted for two hours! Two! Do you know how pathetic that is? And I mean a different Scott, not the one here."
"Yeah, thanks for telling us." Aomine said sarcastically, being woken up by how loud Courtney was.
"Yikes. Even though, I don't exactly have room to say anything. Which is exactly why I won't." Ben whispered to Rook.
"But you just did." Rook said.
"I mean to them. I'm not about to get put on the spot again. Nooo thank you."
"Not to be rude, but, not sure it's wise to be that loud with something like that. Even though I could care less, someone else might not. For all the wrong reasons." Maki remarked, three seats across on the other side of the plane.
"Two hours? Ouch." Riley commented, a seat behind the two.
"This is why romance is overrated." Todd added, sitting next to her, playing a game.
"Says the person that has never been in a relationship. Don't listen to him, continue."
"Don't. Please. Or at least wait until I'm not here."
"Okay, maybe I should definitely be quieter about this. Sorry Aomine."
"Yeah well sorry's not gonna get me back to sleep. Unfortunately." Aomine remarked, begrudgingly awake because he can't make himself go back to sleep.
"If you want, I can make you go back to sleep." Reimu offered.
"And how are you gonna do that?"
"Easy. Just say something I think is stupid, and I'll knock you out cold."
"And then if we lose, I can blame you for knocking me out the whole challenge. No thanks. I'll just find somethin' to do." Aomine said, pulling out his phone and putting on earbuds.
"As I was saying, I've been in two relationships, specifically just from being on the show. Neither one worked out. Thinking about what happened with the first one with Duncan, is the one that, admittedly, hurts me the most."
"Wait, hold on a second, Duncan?" Weiss said, surprised.
"Eeyep. Pretty surprising huh?"
"Oh. If you don't mind me asking, what happened?"
"Well, multiple things. Duncan cheated on me with Gwen. If you remember her from the Aftermaths. But, when you really think about it, it was justified. I-"
"Hold on a second. Let me stop you right there. Don't justify cheating. That is not okay. If he wanted to end the relationship between you two, he could have just done it in a civil manner. That civil manner being 'Courtney, I'm breaking up with you'. Not cheating. Obviously give or take a few words, but that's the general idea. Now, with that being said, please continue."
"Funny you say that. With what happened when I got eliminated, you'd kinda think it was over? But, we got together. As you may have heard on Blaineley's Celebrity Manhunt show. Ohhhh wait, you, never watched that didn't you?"
Weiss answered by shaking her head no.
"Okay, well, you don't need to watch it. Just know that we continued to date. But if you hear the reason why he did what he did, you'll understand completely."
"No I won't. But please, continue. "
"I started doing things like coming up with a list of things for Duncan to do if we were going to have a serious relationship."
"I'm... almost scared to ask what you asked him to do."
"Well, let's start with... page one of thirty-two." She said, pulling out her PDA.
Weiss blinked twice, trying to figure out if she heard that right. "Excuse me?"
"Uh huh. It was a lot."
***Confessional***
Weiss(Storm Kings):
She had a grimacing look on her face. "Okay, now I'm starting to see the problem when it comes to her relationships failing."
***End Confessional***
Weiss sighed. "Okay, start from the beginning. All of it."
"You want me to read you, all of it!? Are you sure?"
"I think I am. Hopefully."
"Okay. Well, let's start with the first one."
As she began to tell Weiss her very lengthy list, on another plane, another pair of girls were also talking about relationships.
Breakers' Plane(Economy Class)
"Yep. How can you not admire that personality? Yeah he comes from a rich family, but boy does he not act like it. Honestly, I really like that. Obviously his handsome face too. Even if his jokes are terrible. But, obviously not everything's going to be perfect. I mean Weiss can put up with Aomine and how occasionally lazy he is along with his refusal to get rid of those perverted magazines." Ayame, who was sitting next to Noelle, said to her, referring to Falcon, grumbling on the magazines part. "And Runo can deal with Dan despite his attitude at times."
"I personally don't see it. But, to each their own." Noelle replied.
"That's because you haven't seen enough. Even though I wasn't competing, I got to see him in action on the Aftermath set. And I can certainly see why she has so much interest in him." Julie said, sitting behind them, next to Fiona. "The same thing when it comes to Rouge with Ryoma."
Speaking of the samurai, he was in another seat, sitting with Furuya. Both were asleep.
"Exactly. How can you not at least admire a family man? He went on an adventure to search for his father and in the season where he was a finalist, he could have slapped his mother to give him a better chance to advance. But, he didn't do it. Even his old family butler Apollus, he treats him with a lot of respect. As family and a friend. Not just as a butler. And besides, you're one to talk about preferences." Ayame said to Noelle.
"What is that supposed to mean?" She asked, an eyebrow raised.
"Hello, you have a bit of a crush on... you know who..." Ayame whispered.
"I haven't the slightest idea who you're talking about. There's no one here that-"
"Oh for crying out loud. It's Asta."
"What? I don't..."
"If you really didn't like him, you wouldn't be constantly looking at him a certain way when he's in some challenges. Let's compare that to how Fiona looks at Kaz."
"Actually let's not make that comparison. Never. Ever. In a million years. Will that ever be a thing. Ev-er." Fiona said, overhearing them, even with earbuds on as her music was at a very low volume.
"Which is why I was going to make a comparison to how you don't see him that way." Ayame said to her.
"Still, don't even propose the possibility of that. Look, as much as I rag on him, he's not all bad. But that's it. If I ever said more than that, either I was hit in the head, or I'm under some type of mind control."
"Okay, so what's your type of man, then?"
"My type of guy? Hmm... honestly, I don't really know." Fiona answered, shrugging. "Obviously he has to have a good heart but other than that, I can't exactly say I have anything specific that I like."
"Well, what about Shiro? A lot of girls like the strong and silent type." Julie said.
"Nah. If silent and serious is all your personality is I don't find that endearing either. I hate what Chris did to Shiro in the talent show, but let's not pretend that he doesn't have a problem with opening up to people and smiling. It's just, trying to get him to loosen up hasn't exactly yielded the greatest results."
"Well, that's fair. But, I think the first thing about the person having a good heart is the best place to start first and foremost. Sometimes, that's all you really need. And the rest will work itself out." Julie said. "Fun fact, you don't know this, but I actually had a bit of a crush on Dan initially."
"Dan? Okay, maybe I'm being judgemental because I've only seen him once but... why?" Fiona said, confusion written all over her face.
"Well, I just thought he was cool! I mean, I still think he's awesome but, not in that way anymore. As much as Dan doesn't want to admit it, intentionally or unintentionally, he feels the same way about Runo that she does about him. And I didn't want to be that unnecessary third wheel that gets in the way."
"Third wheel isn't the term I'd use, but I get it. That's real nice of you to do. I'm sure it'll come around some day for you."
"Actually, it kinda did. With Billy. And then there was Ace. But Ace didn't last long."
"You know the funny thing? In you guys' cases, they were allies." Ayame started.
"You mean those two's cases. Leave me out of this." Fiona emphatically corrected, pointing to Julie and Noelle.
"Right." Ayame said before continuing. "I just needed to take Falcon's Power Stone when I first met him. That was the mission our family was on. To find the Power Stones. I didn't expect to actually grow to like him."
"Well, I guess you eventually grew to want more than his Power Stone." Noelle teased.
For whatever reason her entire face turned in disgust. "What? EWWWWW!"
"What's so disgusting about that? I didn't-" She put her hands in her face, which was completely red after realizing what Ayame thought she was saying. "I didn't mean it like that I swear!"
"Sure you didn't. Thanks to your dirty mind the conversation is ruined!"
"You're the one that immediately defaulted to that! So who is the real disgusting pervert?"
"Uh... what are you guys freaking out over?" Fiona asked, confused. "It's just her saying she wanted Falcon's heart..."
Both blinked and looked at each other before Noelle said, "That's the real thing I was trying to say. Not... that."
"I don't get it. What else could you have thought she was talking about?"
Ayame whispered it into her ear, which caused her cheeks to turn red. "What the heck is wrong with you guys?"
"It's not my fault! Her dirty mind immediately defaulted to that!" Noelle insisted.
"And then you thought of it too! Come on, really you two?"
"Are they okay?" Hinata asked, seeing the conversation from the three from afar.
"They're just having a conversation. Not like someone's fighting or something so why does it matter?" Kageyama said.
"I don't know about that. Look at their faces."
"More than likely, they're just talking about girl stuff. Translation, ignore it dude." Toxsa said, a seat in front of them, playing some type of game with Randy.
"Considering how animated they are, it's kinda hard to."
"What do you mean? You just face forward and do the three magic words: Minding your business." Randy said to him.
"Exactly." Kageyama said before grabbing his head and turning him around.
Eventually, the planes closed in to their destination. That destination being an airport in Japan.
Miyagi Prefecture, Japan
"Back to Japan huh? What now?" Kagami commented.
At some point, three of the contestants in particular began to recognize some of the buildings.
"This is the Miyagi Prefecture! Chris, are we-" Hinata started, beginning to get excited.
"Going to Karasuno High? Yep! We are!" Chris answered.
"Sweet! I can't wait for you guys to meet our teammates!"
"I can." Tsukishima said.
"I don't really care. I just want to know what we're doing here." Kageyama said.
"You're not excited Tsukishima? Why?" Hinata asked.
"Do I have to even give an explanation as to why? Just look around you." He answered.
"I don't see anything."
"Never mind. Just don't worry about it."
"Wait... are you... embarrassed to be seen with us? That's actually kinda adorable!" Julie said.
"And a bit insulting." Jenny added.
"Hey, if it means anything, we promise not to embarrass you." Dwayne said to him.
"I don't understand how you could embarrassed by us. Well, them maybe." Noelle said, looking at Eijun, who was wondering when it was going to be time to see their teammates and pestering Chris about it with Aomine personally not looking forward to showing up in front of his classmates either, naming people like Eijun as the reason why, with said person loudly confronting him about the remark. "But, I don't think your school has ever had someone like me here. This should be a very special day for them."
"Don't flatter yourself. We already have royalty here. Right?" Tsukishima said to Kageyama.
"Shut up..." Kageyama grumbled out.
"Are you really embarrassed by us?" Hinata asked Tsukishima, genuinely, who only gave an exasperated sigh.
"You could always-" Sucy began to offer before he declined again.
"No thanks. I'm sure I can manage a few hours." He replied.
"It's funny that someone that's basically volleyball Noah is talking about being embarrassed by the people he's with." Zak remarked.
"Is that supposed to be an insult?"
"If it wasn't I wouldn't have said it."
"Don't really see how that's an insult but, maybe that's just my bias talking." Emma said.
"Trust me, it was definitely an insult." He thought about adding salt to the wound and saying something about his elimination, but decided not to, not wanting to give her or any of her teammates any extra motivation to play harder.
Eventually, they got to the gym of Karasuno High with the doors already open for them to enter. Once they did, they were greeted by several faces.
"HEYYYYY!" Hinata yelled out, running towards the group.
"Well, glad to know you're happy to see us." One of them said. He was of average height and had a slender build with slightly thick eyebrows, lightly grey hair and hazel-brown eyes with a birthmark mole under his left eye, sporting a gentle smile on his face. He, like all the others he was with, wore a black tracksuit with white details and a white t-shirt underneath.
"At least one of them." Another said. He had long hair styled in a bun behind his head and dark brown eyes matching his hair. He also had grown a bit of a scruff on his chin.
"After all we've done for you guys! I'd expect you two to have more energy than that!" The shortest figure yelled out to Kageyama and Tsukishima. He has black hair ruffled upwards and a tiny tuft that was bleached dirty blond.
"Looks like we have a couple of rude lowerclassmen. So, how about we show these fifty plus other people what we do to rude lowerclassmen." He had a shaved head with a widow's peak and shark blue-gray eyes.
"I'm right with you Tanaka."
Both of them began to growl at Tsukishima and Kageyama.
"Hey! Would you two stop that? You look like dumba*ses!" He was in his 20s and wore a red tracksuit instead of the black one that the others wore. He also had dyed blond hair with brown eyes and wore a small headband. "You wanna growl, do it after the introductions!"
"After? I'm not sure they should be doing that at all." The only female of the group said. She had shoulder length, raven black hair with one portion tucked behind her left ear, a beauty mark on the left side of her chin, and thin framed glasses with baby pink rims and bridge.
"It's just that first impressions are everything. After we get that out of the way, I couldn't care less. Let em show off their personalities so they can get to know each other better. Long as they're not killing each other, who the hell cares?"
"You should! And please watch your language, you're being recorded!" Another adult who had messy black hair and brown eyes who wore glasses said. He also wore a green track jacket.
"Oh s*it, I am?"
"What the heck did I just say!?"
"Okay, okay. My bad. Won't happen again."
"You're good. That's what the editors are for. And thank goodness too. Otherwise..." Doyle said before laughing a little as he looked at Hiruma who immediately threw up two middle fingers at the camera. "See what I mean?"
"Huh. Well, alrighty then. Alright, let's get to the thing that we know won't get censored. Names. First up, me. Keishin Ukai. Coach of these rowdy group of rascals. Including the three you've got on your show."
"I'm Ittetsu Takeda. I'm also a coach on this team. Thank you for deciding to bring your contestants here today Mr. Mclean." Takeda said, bowing.
"No problem man. Looking forward to the challenge today. Hoping this'll be a fun one." Chris replied.
Sendo started to frown a bit, grunting out a silent "tch". Something that was picked up by Natsu as he was standing right next to him.
"Are you alright man?" He asked before Diana shushed him.
"My name is Kiyoko Shimizu. It's great to have you all here. I'm a manager of the team." The female manager said. "If there's anything you need help with, don't be afraid to let me know."
"Yeah, and you better keep it professional, got it!?" Tanaka yelled out, getting close to some of the contestants, looking directly at Paul. Who only looked at him with a slightly raised eyebrow. The only hint of confusion that he even gave.
"Don't give him that look! You look like the playa type!" Nishinoya added.
"Trust me, he's definitely not." Sly said.
"Uh huh. Everybody has a type! You just don't know what his is yet!" Tanaka declared.
"If it makes you feel better I couldn't care less about your manager, got it?" Paul said.
"You what!?" Tanaka and Nishinoya yelled out.
"So you're saying she's ugly now!?" Nishinoya said.
"How dare you!" Tanaka added.
"I think he's saying he's too good for her!"
"Sounds about right! How about we teach you a lesson city boy!?"
"Hey! Stop harassing the guy! You're wasting time!" Daichi said.
Both Nishinoya and Tanaka slowly backed away as they kept staring at him with mean mugs. "We got our eye on you!" Nishinoya said.
"It's eyes but whatever! Same thing!" Tanaka said.
Paul could only shake his head, already seeing that these two were the morons of the team. And that was saying a lot considering how Kageyama and Hinata acted.
"Sorry about those two. Daichi Sawamura. Captain of the team. Despite what those two act like, we're very glad to have you here. And hope you have a good time. And those two are Nishinoya and Tanaka. Short one's Nishinoya."
Daichi had short dark hair and dark brown eyes and although it couldn't be seen because he was wearing the track jacket, had a muscular build.
"Sawamura huh? Maybe this guy's the long lost brother you needed." Miyuki joked to Eijun.
"I don't have a brother you moron!" Eijun replied.
"It was a joke. Calm down." Tsukishima said to him.
"Well I don't think it's funny." Eijun said, folding his arms.
"Asahi Azumane. Very nice to meet you all." Asahi was the one that had the small bit of facial hair on his chin.
The second he spoke, Hanamiya felt his skin crawl. And he seemed to have a bit of a disgusted look on his face too.
"Koshi Sugawara. Nice to meet you all in person." Sugawara, who was the one with grey hair said.
"Tadashi Yamaguchi. And actually, we have another manager here. Her name's Yachi. But, I'm not sure where she is. She's running late."
"Just two? We've got more than that." Miyuki said. "Hey, at least it's better than one. Although in her case, maybe one's all you need." He said, giving a bit of a look at Mamori.
"How many managers do you guys have?" Hinata asked.
"Five."
"Five managers!?" Nishinoya repeated, in shock. "Are they cute!?"
"You can see for yourself. When introductions are over with."
"Wait, they're here!? Is she one of them?" Nishinoya asked, pointing to Lucy.
"Does it look like it?"
"What's wrong with me that I can't be one of your managers?" She asked, offended.
"A lot, actually."
"Not gonna lie, you've been on edge a lot more than usual." Natsu said to her.
"Anyone would be on edge when you've constantly got multiple kids insulting you every day for no reason and just had your face drawn on while you were sleeping!"
"The jokes write themselves when it comes to you. So acting like you're completely innocent is like saying I try my hardest in school. Which I don't." Todd said.
"And by the way, none of the managers are here. Just these two knuckleheads." Miyuki said, referring to Furuya and Eijun.
"Can we please get to what we'll be playing today?" Furuya asked. Although it didn't seem like it, his impatience could definitely be felt.
"Sure thing. Other than Yachi, who Tadashi said isn't here, that looks like everyone. So, coach, do you want to do the honors or can I?" Chris asked.
"You're the host. Go ahead." Ukai answered.
"Cool. Welcome to the volleyball gym of Karasuno High School ladies and gentleman! The very school that three of our very own contestants, Kageyama, Hinata and Tsukishima attend and are on the Volleyball team together on."
"Not sure if they told you already but if they haven't, all three of them have very prominent roles on our team. Kageyama's a setter. Hinata's a spiker. And Tsukishima is a blocker. I'm aware that their personalities might not make it seem so, but they play their roles very well. Just like the other pieces on our team, without them, we wouldn't be where we are today. It's like smoking without a lighter, the actual box with the cigarettes and the match."
"That's a pretty random comparison but sure. I get where you're coming from." Isagi said.
"Great! You understanding the message is what matters."
"I don't get it. Can someone explain what he means?" Scott asked.
"He's basically saying that every aspect of a team is important, no matter what the role of said team member is. The same way you can't smoke without the lighter to light it or a match, the money to buy the box of cigarettes, and of course the cigarette itself. In other words, like how you can't have a car function without all the necessary parts to have it do so." Jotaro explained.
"Or how you can't make a cake without all the ingredients." Akko added.
"Exactly! Couldn't have said it better myself!" Ukai said. "Listen, Asahi may be our ace, and Kageyama may be a prodigy with Hinata being one hell of a spiker,"
"And me being one hell of a Libero!" Nishinoya added.
"Him too. But, none of that matters if the other members don't help out too."
"Which is why together, we make one hell of a team!" Tanaka exclaimed.
"One hell of a team that still has room for improvement. But anyways, that's neither here nor there. I don't know what you guys have been doing the previous challenges but if you expect to be doing anything other than playing volleyball today, you'll be disappointed."
"That's right. I know the other places you've went to when you visited Japan the previous times have asked you to do supplementary games besides the main sport that they offer. We'll be jumping straight into just volleyball today to make things short and simple for you all as I understand you've been through a good bit with these challenges." Takeda explained.
"Of course, you can't play without warming up first." Sugawara said.
"And in some of your cases, actually learning how to play. Don't worry, I'm not gonna ask how many of you have, or haven't played before. Because you'll get an opportunity to practice on the courts today before the real games start." Daichi began.
"I'm aware some of you have also played different sports. And while that helps out a bit, just like the sports that you're great at, volleyball is also a different animal. Yes, you can have your aces and your star players, but unlike something like basketball, star power alone can't win you a bunch of games. Perhaps maybe a couple, but definitely not enough to get you anywhere."
"Yeah. It'd be great if we could just let Hinata spike it every time, just like you do on your teams, but uh, that would get snuffed out pretty quickly." Tadashi said.
"And you need to be able to both attack and defend. Football gets the luxury of having different players to play offense and defense. This game doesn't. And obviously, I shouldn't have to mention the fact that you're out there with a team, so you have to worry about more than just yourself, unlike something like boxing. Sure, someone can recover for you and maybe save it, but if they can't, that's a point lost on just one mistake. No potential outs to save it here." Daichi said, eyeing Sendo and the other respective players of the sports he mentioned.
"Exactly. If we're going to win, we all need to be at our best. Doesn't matter how much more important you think you are to the team overall." Kageyama said aloud, though it was moreso to his team.
"Yes. Use teamwork. Thanks captain obvious." Zak said sarcastically.
"I'm being serious here! And if you've got a problem working together-"
"Hey! I wasn't finished talking! So quiet down! Both of you!" Daichi yelled out.
"Sorry." Kageyama said, immediately facing forward.
"Alright. So as I said before you'll be able to spend some time on the courts to practice, warm-up and/or familiarize yourself with the game for ninety minutes. That seems like a lot but that time can go by quick, so don't think that means you've just got a bunch of time to just goof off and do whatever.'
"Don't worry, I'll be more than happy to explain the basic rules of the game before you start practice. And also, for the real matches, we'll do a double round robin format. Meaning each team will play each other twice." Takeda said.
"Which means, don't be last. This is a single elimination day today, so if you're last, someone on your team isn't lasting the whole plane ride back. If you're gettin' my drift." Chris said.
"Now then, to the rules. There are a total of 12 players on the court at once in volleyball, 6 on each team. Each player has one position to fill, but some players can be fully capable of playing more than one position. These positions are Setter, Server, Blocker, Spiker, Hitter and Libero." Takeda said as a board was rolled in by Sugawara and Tadashi with each position and their locations on the court being shown.
"So, is it possible for us to be able to play every position? You know, be whatever the team needs at the moment? This seems like a lot compared to soccer and tennis." Natsu asked.
"Yes. You very well could. If it's executed right. Because if it's not..." Daichi answered.
"It'll end up being a mess." Mamori concluded.
"Exactly. You have everyone thinking they can do everything and there's confusion on who's doing what, leading to things like balls going the wrong way, a person hitting it when they're not supposed to, running into your own players, the list goes on." Ukai said.
"And speaking of tennis, I'm glad you brought that up, because the scoring is the same way as that, as you've already experienced. You score by getting the ball past the other team inbounds or if the opposing team fails to get the ball over the net or hits it out of bounds. Difference is, in tennis, the ball is allowed to bounce once inbounds without penalty. Here, you can't it let it touch the ground once. If it does, that's a point for the other team." Takeda explained.
"If you've got any extra questions about each position, feel free to ask us during your practice time. We'll be more than happy to answer them." Sugawara said.
"Yeah! You wanna know how to be a master Libero? Then you've come to the right place!" Nishinoya declared confidently, pointing to himself.
"And again, if there's anything you need, I'll be more than happy to assist you with it. Just let me know." Kiyoko reminded them.
"And again, you better remember what we said!" Tanaka warned as he and Nishinoya suddenly got in front of her lightning quick.
"I think you made your point pretty clear. Whatever that point was." She said to the two.
"Alright. Any questions before we start practice?" Ukai asked.
"One. Are we allowed to use our powers in this game?" Ruby asked.
"Ooh, good question. Very good one. For this game, I'm sadly going to have to say no. While it would be fun to see, as I haven't a clue what you guys are capable of since I never watched you all, it's an easy cop-out. I want to see how you guys can play without using that to help you. Just your instincts and your physical ability. If you wanna do it in practice, fine. But just know you won't be able to have the luxury of that in the real games."
"And actually, it's probably for the best. We'd rather not have to make any type of repairs to the gym. Even though considering what happened with tennis, like the match between Echizen and Blaze, it still might happen anyway." Takeda said.
"I mean, we still kinda could use powers then too. Just nothing super crazy." Aomine said. "But I got it. No Zone then. Not a problem for me."
"Anything else?" Ukai asked.
No other questions were given.
"Alright then. Your ninety minutes starts now. So I suggest you get moving! Share the court and be civil with each other about it! Because if you can't, you're only hurting yourself by wasting practice time." Daichi said to them.
"Also, confessional's been put in the closet. You wanna say somethin'? Go say it in there." Chris said.
***Confessional***
Tsukishima(Wave Breakers):
He looks around. "Huh. I'm actually surprised they cleaned this place up."
***End Confessional***
Practice began. And from the looks of things, everyone already had what they were going to do planned out, for better or worse in terms of being productive with their time.
"Sorry I'm late everyone!" Yachi, the second manager of the team said, running in. She was a petite girl with blonde hair that goes slightly past her chin and light brown eyes. She wore colorful stair hairclips and hairbands on her left side ponytail. The second she got in, she was hit by a volleyball.
"Oh crap. My bad!" Aomine said. "I got it!" He ran to get the ball but saw Yachi on the ground and went to help her up. "You okay? Sorry about that."
When she saw him, she was terrified.
"Woah, woah! Hey! I'm not gonna hurt ya!"
"He's right! He might look like a tough guy but he's a teddy bear on the inside!" Yang yelled out.
"Shut it blondie!" He turned back to Yachi. "Ignore her. Anyways..."
She still look scared and he sighed. "Look, I-"
"How could I forget! You're one of the contestants from that show aren't you?"
"Total Drama? Yeah? What's it to you?"
"I was supposed to bring extra drinks! I'm so sorry! You must be really thirsty!"
"Actually, I'm not even tired-"
"I'll get them right away! I'll be right back!" She said, before quickly running out.
"The hell was that?" He said to himself, confused at what just happened.
"Aomine! Are you gonna stare into space or are you gonna bring the ball back!?" Bobo called out.
"Crap. My bad! Comin'!"
Natsu sent a ball back after Sophie sent it across the net
"Aomine! Get it!" Courtney called out.
"On it!" He said, with him using his incredible speed and athleticism to return it back.
"I've got it!" Blaze called out. She pops the ball up in the air. "Kagami!"
"Alright!" He jumps up in the air and spikes the ball across the net.
Weiss tried to pop the ball up, but it was a weak set.
"I got it." Din said before setting the ball up for Aomine to use his athleticism to his advantage and spike the ball. What they didn't expect was for Monta to jump randomly and have the ball hit him in the face, blocking it as a took a weird angle after bouncing off the net and scoring a point for them.
"Wow. Get the hell outta here. That was so random." Aomine said.
"A point is a point. We need to be ready for that." Din said.
"Still doesn't make it any less BS."
"And it still doesn't take away that they scored."
"Yeah, fine, whatever. They got lucky. Not happening again."
***Confessional***
Courtney(Storm Kings):
"For the most part, we've decided not to follow the positions thing. It's moreso communication, set, bump, spike and return by committee. Just to make things less confusing. As long as we communicate with each other, we'll be fine."
***End Confessional***
"Hmm... not bad." Nishinoya said, looking at the pictures of the managers on Miyuki's phone, hand under his chin with intrigue before he swiped to Chris(The Ace of Diamond one, not McLean).
"He's another manager too." Miyuki said.
"I see... well then-" Eijun suddenly swiped the phone out of his hands, appearing out of nowhere. "Hey! What's the big idea buddy!?"
"Stop showing him pictures of our managers and come practice with us!" Eijun yelled at Miyuki.
"I'm coming! Sheesh. It's 90 minutes. Besides, you should be able to practice without me. I told him that I was going to do this." Miyuki replied.
"I don't care! You heard what the coach and captain said! Come practice! Now!" He said before grabbing him and dragging him.
"Heh. You can't say he's not taking this serious. I like it." Nishinoya said to himself.
"No, no. Your arm position's and posture's still a little off. Here." Kageyama said to Diana before actually going to adjust her arms himself just so she can really have an idea of what to do.
But when he did, he had his hands touch her chest for a bit, causing her to lightly yelp a bit and cheeks to slightly turn red as he began to make his intended corrections before a loud smack was heard across the gym, causing everyone to turn to the direction of the noise.
"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" Kageyama yelled out at her as he had a red mark on his right cheek.
"You should be asking yourself that!" Diana replied back, trying not to explode like he did. Which admittedly was very hard for her to do after what had just happened.
"For what? Trying to help!?"
"Well, I guess you're right. Because you were definitely helping yourself for a split second."
"That doesn't even make any sense!"
"Then explain how grabbing me is helpful to improving my skills? You think I wouldn't notice?"
"How else am I supposed to really get you to really understand then?"
"Everything was fine until now." Hailey commented as the two continued to argue.
"Yes. Unfortunately, I'm going to-" Ryoma started before Daichi stopped him.
"Hold on. Before you do that. Let's see if they can resolve this themselves without anyone intervening." Daichi said. "At the very least, it's not the shouting matches that he and Hinata do."
"Look, I don't understand why that's a big deal." Kageyama said, when Diana specifically said he gripped her chest.
"What? I- I don't believe this! How do you not understand that?" She replied, in genuine disbelief that that was his response. And the worst part was, it looked genuine.
"Wow. Dumba[censored]." Aomine commented, shocked that he really doesn't know why she would be upset at him for doing that.
After she, to her disbelief, had to explain to him why by whispering in his ear, he apologized. "Look, I'm sorry. I was trying to do that I swear."
"How does he genuinely not know that?" Lucy said.
"You'll be surprised at what he doesn't know." Tsukishima said. "And I don't mean that as a compliment."
She sighed. "Okay. Apology accepted. But please, refrain from doing that again if possible. Now, please continue."
"Okay. If you're going to set, make sure your body's like this. And have your hands like this. I know this is really nitpicky, but it makes it easier on your teammates so they don't have to work as hard to send it over."
"The small details. I completely understand."
"You know what I just thought about? If they're on different teams, why are they doing this?" Sugawara commented.
"Easy. You remember that slap? Oh yeah, she totally digs him." Tanaka said.
"Man, who knew he had it in him?" Nishinoya said with approval.
"Our first years. They grow up so fast! Next thing you know, Tsukishima and Hinata are gonna be next!" Tanaka said, crying tears of joy.
"What? That is not why she slapped him." Sophie said to the two, spectating the others practice now as she was one of the people not participating to let others have a chance at the court.
"Come on, we should know. Just look at Kiyoko and how she talks to us at times." Nishinoya said.
"And how she insulted us when were shooting a film when she was a villainess." Tanaka said, which caused several people to give them side-eyed glances.
"Yeah... we did not need to know that." Bobo said low, intentionally out of their earshot before drinking a bottle of water.
"YESSSS!" Akko exclaimed, jumping for joy as she got a ball past Maki, who was now irritated.
"Nice one!" Emma said to her.
"But enough about us, we need to talk about you... and her." Nishinoya said to Hinata.
"Who, Maki? I never actually went against her in a challenge I don't think. But she's been pretty good so-" Hinata started.
"No not her idiot. Her!" He said, pointing to the other side of the net.
"Emma? What about her?"
"No! Her! Her right there!" He said, pointing his finger constantly at the person on the side of her, Akko.
"Me and her? What about it? Oh you mean when we went against each other in Grudgby huh?"
Nishinoya facepalmed. "Idiot. He means your relationship with her!" Tanaka said.
"Exactly. She's a pretty girl. I can definitely see the appeal for you." Nishinoya said, nodding.
"Appeal? Wait a second guys, it's not like that!" Hinata said, finally catching on.
"You don't gotta deny it to us buddy. We've been watching some of the episodes."
"But if you wanna keep it on the DL for strategy reasons, I get it." Tanaka said.
"Guys, I'm serious. It's not like that." Hinata insisted emphatically.
"So you mean you don't even see her as the slightest bit attractive?" Nishinoya asked, surprised.
"Look, she looks nice."
"Nice?"
"Pretty!" He corrected. "But even so, I still don't see her as anything more than a friend."
"Hmm, so she doesn't have any interest in you either?" Tanaka asked.
"If you guys were really watching the episodes, you'd know that she's interested in someone named Andrew." Mayuzumi said, next to them before scaring all three, causing Nishinoya to fall over, on course to fall right on an unsuspecting Noelle, who was about to get a bottle of water.
Nishinoya noticed this and instead of trying to stop himself, he closed his eyes, looking as if he wanted to fall on her.
"You know? She's not too bad either. Well... I guess this is it. I didn't want it to happen. But, it's fate. Thank you, weird guy that appeared out of nowhere." He thought before sighing in bliss.
But when he felt something, he was surprised. "Hey! What the heck's going on here? Is she wearing body armor or something or does she have iron boo-"
"Get up you idiot!" Noelle said to him. Nishinoya looked up and saw Noelle looking down at him, revealing that she saw this and stepped out of the way before it happened. "If you think I'm going to pick you up after hearing what I heard, you must be dumber than I thought." She said before drinking the bottled water she had.
"Oh, right! Sorry!" Nishinoya said before laughing, not even the hiding the fact that he was blushing before she shook her head and left.
"Weirdos." Noelle thought before returning to practice with Asta, Ayame and Ryoma.
"There's absolutely nothing wrong with boys and girls just being great fri-" Asahi started to say to Tanaka before he and Nishinoya yelled at him.
"NO ONE'S TRYIN' TO HEAR THAT SENTIMENTAL CRAP RIGHT NOW!"
"But-"
"So what if it is true, we're not tryin' to hear that when we're trying to make sure Hinata here doesn't miss his chance!" Tanaka yelled.
"Okay, okay! My bad! I'm sorry!" Asahi apologized, hands up in surrender.
"Asahi, come give me a hand! These two have some questions." Daichi said, referring to Hailey and Jenny.
"Coming!"
Natsu and Sendo sat down for a breather.
"Hey Sendo." Natsu started.
"What's up?" Sendo asked, taking a few breaths and using a towel Kiyoko gave him to wipe his face with.
"That face you made earlier when that coach was talking. What was that about?"
"What? I don't know what you're- oh that." Sendo said before shaking his head as Rally sat down next, with May subbing in for her. "Just reminded me of Ippo. You wouldn't know him."
"But I do. How's he doing anyway?" Rally asked.
"I don't know. We live in different parts in Japan. I'm in Osaka. He's in Tokyo. I haven't really been talking to him as of recently since I got ready to come on the show. That guy reminded me of him, and it p[censored]ed me off."
"Why? Seems like a random reason to get mad."
"IT'S NOT RANDOM!" He yelled out, catching her off guard a bit before he calmed down. "The reason why it made me mad was because it reminded me of how Ippo just decided not to come back and try again."
"Let me guess, so you can go against him?"
"That's some of it. It's also the reason why. 'I'm thankful for the money that Luz was able to share with me'". He repeated, reciting the quote that he gave the media when asked about why he had no intentions of returning again to compete. "That sounds like someone that's satisfied with losing! He better pray we don't go to that gym of his. Cause I'm gonna strangle him! I don't give rats a[censored] if it's recorded or not! So if you're watching this Ippo, you better call in sick or somethin' if that day comes cause I'm dead serious! YOU HEAR ME!? I KNOW YOU'RE WATCHIN'!" He warned, shaking his fist at the end.
"Didn't you just say-" Natsu started.
"SHUT IT PINKIE! I KNOW WHAT I SAID!"
"Apparently not." Happy remarked, eating a cookie before being grabbed by Sendo.
"You shouldn't have come over here and made that smart a[censored] remark!"
"Natsu, help!"
"Put him down this instant!" Sebastian said, running away from the game and missing a ball headed his way.
"Sebastian, what are you doing!? Forget the stupid cat!" Reimu called out.
"Put him down Sendo!" Natsu said, tackling him and breaking the table before the two got into a fight.
Happy breathed a sigh of relief. "Phew." He turned around and smacked straight into Sebastian who scared him and caused him to pass out.
"Oh my! What have I done!?" Sebastian said, horrified.
"He's not dead! Now get back over here and play!" Maki called out.
"But-"
"NOW!"
Sebastian sighed. "Miss Kiyoko, could you take care of Happy for me? I must return to the game."
Meanwhile, on another side of the gym, Kageyama got a ball past Diana. The two were off practicing by themselves.
"I'm curious. What made you want to take such an interest in this? This isn't me trying to offend. I understand people are passionate about different things. But even when I apologized to you after the racing challenge, I never considered asking you that until we actually came here to play it." Diana said, grabbing and sending the ball back his way.
"Well, it was my grandfather. I always loved playing the sport a very early age." He started before returning the ball back.
Flashback
(Haikyuu Chapter 387- The Greatest Opponent Part 1)
A baby Kageyama, not even a year old was seen with his older sister, Miwa's volleyball in her mouth, with her and his grandfather Kazuyo catching him doing it.
"Hey! Who gave Tobio my ball?!" Miya exclaimed, a shocked look on her face as he innocently drooled on it.
"Sorry! When did you get your little hands on that?!" Kazuya added before trying to take it. But Tobio was insistent and keeping hold of it, keeping a tight grip on it, something that Kazuyo noticed.
"Boy, you've got a grip on that, Tobio!"
Three years later
"Miwa-chan, mom and dad said they'd be late again tonight. Want me to come with me to practice?" A three-year-old Tobio asked.
"Yeah!" Miwa replied.
One Year Later
Tobio was seen in a gym where her sister's volleyball team practiced, playing with her for a bit.
One Year Later
"Tobio. Today's a game day for us. You won't be able to play around with the balls too much you know." Kazuyo, who was the coach of his sister's volleyball team said to Tobio.
"S'okay. I like the gym." He replied.
"Oh, do you now? What about it do you like so much?"
"The color and the smell."
"Yes! I totally get that feeling!"
End Flashback
"I see. Your family was already interested in the sport so you did too." Diana concluded.
"It's too bad that interest didn't last long." Tobio said before serving it to her. "Sometime when I first joined my first team, she quit volleyball. The high school team said that girls needed to cut their hair short. She didn't want to do that yet, so she quit. Don't worry, I didn't have a problem with it or anything. Even back then. Even my grandfather was fine with it."
"And your parents? I guess they weren't."
"Actually, I don't know. I'd assume so. They supported me. Even though they never came to my games. I think they're kind of people who... don't really interfere much."
"You don't exactly seem so sure of that."
"I know they support me. It's just... I always spent more time with my grandfather when it came to volleyball. I-if that makes sense."
"Don't worry, I understand what you mean. Well, at least your grandfather watched them. Along with your sister. That's something."
"Actually, my sister never came to one. My grandfather used to, but doesn't... anymore."
"Oh. I'm sorry." She said, already knowing what happened to him, catching the ball.
"It's fine. His health was starting to get worse. I think it was some time when I was in junior he had to go to the hospital. That's why he stopped coming. He just couldn't anymore. But even then, I always would come to talk to him about my games. And he always listened."
Diana smiled softly. closing her eyes. "That's nice of him. It reminds me of my mother before she... also passed. Her health deteriorated. Combine that with the fact she continued to work even while she was sick. She was strong. But eventually, it was just too much. Even when she was sick, she would always tell me stories about my past relatives. And belief that I could create a new future for the Cavendish line. She's one of the reasons why I continue to work so hard. Why I'm so proud to be a Cavendish. Why I got to see..." She stopped herself.
She quickly wiped her left eye before quickly opening them. "I'm sorry. I made this about me. I shouldn't have-"
"Don't apologize. I told you it's fine earlier. At least you have your father. That's-'
"No. He's gone too. If you don't mind, may I share something else with you?"
"Uh, okay. Go ahead." Kageyama said, bouncing the ball once before throwing it in the air once and catching.
"This was something I was intending to tell you a while back. During the Gran Prix. I didn't remember it until now."
"Hey!" Maki called out, causing the two to turn. "If you two are gonna join the match, come on! I wanna get another round in before the games start!"
"You've been in pretty much every match instead of one. At least in ones that our team's played in. I think you've got more than enough practice." Ben said to her.
"To you at least. I'm taking full advantage of these ninety minutes."
"I don't see a problem with it. Perhaps it would serve you well to do the same." Akashi said to him.
"Jeez. I'm not that bad."
"I never said you were. Or weren't."
"Your tone says otherwise." He grumbled.
"Curious. Will what you've taught me come back to haunt you?" Diana said to Kageyama as they prepared to play.
"A beginner? Getting cocky? If you wanted to get crushed, this is how you do it." Kageyama said, smiling as the ball was served by Dwayne.
"You and Weiss had quite the heart to heart on the plane huh?" Ben said to Courtney as they were both drinking water. It was also just so he wouldn't have to be in an awkward spot around Akashi after what he said.
"Yeah. It was a lot. But she was genuinely willing to listen and be honest. Without being condescending. Pretty funny that if it was the other way around, I don't think I would have been that way. Especially in previous seasons."
"Sounds like you still think you're the same person from those previous seasons. All of which that I did not watch by the way. Good thing there's no Total Drama trivia challenges huh?"
"Never say never. You could speak it into existence." She joked.
"Ooh I hope not. Or I'm in trouble. Maybe that's a sign I should start watching some on free time huh?"
"Maybe."
"I'm serious though. I'm only going off of the one season we were on together and what I've heard. Mostly the second one since we weren't on the same team like we are now. But you've definitely changed for the better. Even if it's only just on the fact that you decided not to get your lawyers to help you. And that's something. I don't care how little you think it is. Small things grow to become big things. How many lessons do you think I've had to learn when it comes to being a hero? When I was ten? Things that I never would have thought all those years ago would have made a difference. But it did." Ben said to her.
"I could have chosen not to listen. I could have said 'I have the Omnitrix, why do I have to listen to my old nagging grandpa? Or some weird Diamondhead guy? I have the power, you don't'. I remember something that my past self, who was ten, and I don't mean the one from the last season. It was my actual self from the past. Long story how that happened. But, he said this." He wields the Omnitrix the same way his past self did when he met him in the Forge of Creation. (A/N: Picture this as both Ben's voices being heard at the same time, where a transparent version of his younger self is in the same place his current self is now)
"'You think I don't know? When it's hero time, if I mess up, somebody could die. From what you told me, if we mess up this time, everybody could die."'
"Now that I think about it, looking back, I know everyone uses the whole same voice thing as a joke. And it was fun as a challenge. Even if it sucks I couldn't participate. But to know, that out there, I have a connection to Spider-Man? It makes a lot of sense now. With great power, comes great responsibility. But this... this is more powerful than that." He said, looking at the Omnitrix.
"I know it sounds like I'm just rambling on about myself but it all means something, I promise. It all leads back to choices. I chose to listen and it helped me grow and be better. You chose to listen and it helped you grow to be better just like I did. If you can do the same thing that someone that saves multiple worlds can, I think that's pretty freaking impressive. Doesn't seem so small now does it?"
"Yeah. I guess not. That was a mouthful, you know that?" Courtney finally said.
"Like I said, I know it sound-"
"It was just an observation. I didn't have a problem with it. Thank you."
"No problem. What are teammates for?"
The ball suddenly bounced Ben's way with him catching it. He tossed it back to Albedo.
"Emma, move up! I'm switching with you!" He called out.
"Got it!" She replied.
Eventually, the rest of the practice time passed. And by that time, Yachi had returned with drinks for everyone.
"Alright. A solid practice run I'd say. Great work everyone. Now's the time for the real deal. The hard beer. Remember, it's double round-robin format. Each game will be first to three, deuce rules enforced. Got it?" Ukai explained.
"Was it really necessary to add in the beer thing?" Bachira whispered to Isagi.
"Hey! If I'm hearin' whispers, I'm assuming you don't have any questions, right?"
"No sir!" Bachira replied, confidence not shaken in the slightest.
"Alright then. Each team will have six players play. However, every game, it needs to be different players. You got the choice of who plays when, but just make sure it's not the same guys, got it?" Daichi explained.
"Kings and Rats are first up!" Takeda announced.
***Confessional***
Courtney(Storm Kings):
"You know, with how he acts, it's easy to forget that he's done all of those things. That really helped out a lot. Thank you to everyone that's been willing to help me. Midorima, Ben, Weiss, all of you. NOW LET'S GO WIN! YEAHHHHHHHHH!"
"Yo Courtney, you good?" Aomine called out. as he and pretty much everyone else heard her yelling.
"Uh, yes! Yes I'm fine!"
***End Confessional***
The first game had X, Tangle, Axl, Blaze, Albedo and Sendo start things off against Riley, Ben, Yang, Blake, Bachira and Octavia.
The whistle was blown by Tanaka before he yelled out, "START!"
The Rats had first serve with Blaze being the server.
"Hey, I heard that pep talk. Pretty nice." Yang said to Ben.
"Thanks but... why are you eavesdropping on our conversa-" The ball suddenly hit him in the face before she tried to return it. Tangle was about to run for it, but saw that it was going out.
A whistle was heard. "OUT!" Tanaka announced.
Rats 1 - Kings 0
"That one's on you." Ben said to Yang.
"No, that's on both of you. Pay attention guys! We can't let this get away from us!" Riley said to them.
Blaze served again. But this time, the Kings were ready for it.
Riley popped the ball up for Yang to spike, with the latter seemingly their designated finisher.
Albedo blocked it and sent the ball back.
Blake sent the ball back across the net herself. But that turned out to have been a bad idea as Sendo spiked the ball. Hard. Ben and Octavia tried to block it but couldn't react in time while Bachira tried to do a sliding save, missing it barely.
Rats 2 - Kings 0
Blake pats her chest twice. "That's on me. Sorry."
"GAME POINT!" Tanaka yelled out.
This time, it was their team's turn to serve. And it was actually Blake that was the server.
She sent the ball over with Axl popping it up. But it was too far.
Tangle tried to get to it with her tail but that was immediately called before anything went further.
Rats 2 - Kings 1
"You should have known you weren't going to be able to get away with that." X said to Tangle, who laughed a little.
"Worth a try." She said, shrugging. "Okay, now that that's out of my system, let's finish this."
Blake served the ball.
"I've got it!" Blaze called out with her setting the ball up for Albedo, who sent it back again, this time to Tangle to Sendo who finished it hard.
Yang tried to return it but the return was way too hard, sailing past the court, with Asahi catching it.
"OUT! GAME TO RATS!"
Rats 3 - Kings 1
Standings
Rats 1
Kings 0
Breakers 0
The Kings would play again against the Breakers.
Maki, Akashi, Mayuzumi, Jotaro, Reimu and Eliza were next. They went against Dwayne, Urien, Scott, Hailey, Kunigami and Eijun.
Breakers would serve first.
Dwayne was the server.
He popped the ball forwards across the net for another solid serve.
"Maki!" Akashi called out.
"Yep!" She replied, already knowing what to do and popping it up before Akashi sent it forward for an absolute pinpoint perfect return that their opponents could not return.
"Point Kings!" Tanaka yelled out.
"What!? That was actually in!?" Eijun said in disbelief, not even going after it as he thought it was out.
Kings 1 - Breakers 0
"A nice return. But let's see if he can do it again." Kageyama commented.
Dwayne served it again. Reimu popped the ball up, saving a point due to an even better serve from him this time.
Mayuzumi sety ball up for Akashi, who ran up as if he was going to spike it, but actually wasn't and sent it to Eliza who finished it. Scott returned it with Reimu running to get it but Akashi told her not too. And it was the right decision too. The ball was on the other side of the sideline, going out of bounds.
Kings 2 - Breakers 0
"How did you know that wasn't going to be inbounds?" Reimu asked him.
"It's just that simple. I just knew." Akashi said. Reimu was confused but didn't have time to question it as they needed to serve. Mayuzumi was the server.
"Is he... using his Emperor Eye?" Aomine thought. "No way." He added, thinking that he wouldn't do something that would literally be cheating.
The Kings did the same strategy again.
"Same thing! Watch out!" Hailey called out to the team.
But another wrinkle was added, with Mayuzumi coming out of nowhere to find the open spot and send the ball forward from Akashi's setup, getting it around Kunigami.
"GAME! KINGS!"
Kings 1
Rats 1
Breakers 0
"Wow. That wasn't even close." Dwayne said.
"They had a gameplan setup already and executed well. Gotta give em credit. They were ready." Hailey said.
"Yeah. Same play but made sure it was a little different every time. That was really smart." Scott added.
"Yeah, let's just keep complimenting the other team why don't you? Idiots." Kunigami said before sitting off to himself.
"It wasn't even as much as you think. You're just overreacting." Hailey replied.
"But it's Kunigami. That's how he is." Dwayne said.
"And rightfully so. Utterly useless!" Urien said.
"Two can play at that game." Hanamiya thought.
As the next set of Breakers played, which was Ryoma, Kageyama, Hinata, Noelle, Randy and Diego against Kurita, Murasakibara, Kise, Adrien, Mamori and Diana, Aomine talked with Akashi.
"Akashi, did you..." He started, not even wanting to say it as he still wouldn't believe it if he did.
"No. I simply used my intuition to predict what would happen next. I would never under any circumstances cheat." Akashi declared.
"Yeah. Of course not."
"I can sense how unsure you are. Trust me, I am fine. You have nothing to be concerned about." He added, giving him a soft smile.
The score was 2-1 in favor of the Rats.
"Copy this!" Hinata yelled out, setting up for a spike. Until it actually wasn't one, as hs missed it intentionally as Noelle came behind him and put in a spot that no one could get without touching the net, somehow just getting it across the edge.
"DEUCE!"
"You're not winning this game." Kise declared, determination in his voice.
"Uh huh. I'm so glad that I'm actually listening to the opinions of someone on another team. Not!" Randy said to him.
As they played the Deuce out, Ben and Yang continued their talk from earlier.
"Okay, like I was asking you earlier, why the heck did you decide to eavesdrop?" Ben asked her.
"Well I mean I wasn't at first. And then I heard the stuff about the ten-year-old self and you doing that pose and I got curious. It was the pose that got me curious."
"What was wrong with my pose? That was exactly what my younger self did!"
"NO WAY!" Kise yelled out, sending the ball back, preventing the Breakers from securing the game with an incredible save that Murasakibara couldn't quite get, tying the game. This caused Ben and Yang to really pay attention to the game now.
"Murasakibacchi, come on! If you're going to send it back, put a little bit more effort into it!" He scolded. "Kuirita, you have to move faster than that!"
"I'm sorry! I'll do even better next time!" Kurita said.
"Dude, if I'm blocker, how am I supposed to do that?" Murasakibara asked.
"There's a lot you could do. You just took blocker because it was easy!"
"Kise, come on! It could have been better but give him a break. Why are you being so hard on him? Or Kurita?" Adrien said to him.
"Because it feels like I'm the only person really doing anything!"
"What? How could you even say something like that?" Diana said in disbelief.
"Look, I get it, you're frustrated, but we're trying our best here. And some of it isn't even on us. They're just playing well. You have to remember Kageyama's there too. And Hinata." Adrien said to Kise.
"Even so, we can still get past them. We had it!" Kise said before taking a deep.
"First time I've seen him get like this." Kagami said.
"Yeah, and it's a welcome sight too. Save that friendly crap outside of challenges." Sendo said.
"I get being competitive, but for him, this is a bit much eh?" Becky said.
"You guys are sayin' this like it's a problem. It's not!" Sendo said as Kise sent the ball back hard, getting the advantage for his team.
It was back and forth between the two teams before Kise, sliding with his leg in an awkward position, failed to get the ball, with the Breakers winning their first game.
"Yes!" Hinata cheered.
"It's not over yet. We still have more games to play." Kageyama said.
Kise sat down, sighing. "Kise, what's up man? You good?" Kagami asked.
"Uh... I don't know." He replied.
"What do you mean? Something going on?" Adrien asked.
"Yeah. It's..." He shook his head. "What am I doing? Acting emotional over that? Come on."
"Dude, if you got somethin' talk about." Kagami started.
"I'm good! I'm good." He said before leaning his head back, towel over his head before putting it on his face for a bit.

Kagami(Radical Rats):
"Yeah he's not good."

As the games played out, talk between spectating contestants continued.
"Like I said, it just looked so goofy." Yang said to Ben, laughing a little.
"Whatever. As long as she got the message that's all that matters." He replied.
"Pep talks huh? Can't wait to get my pep talk moment." Rex said after joining them on a losing effort in their game against a Tsukishima-led Breakers, losing 3-2.
"Just make sure you're not standing like him, reciting something." Yang said.
"Ignore her. What I was doing was completely fine. She's just being..." Ben said.
"Yang?" Rex proposed.
"Yeah. Best way I can describe it."
As their respective teams played, Diana revealed what she wanted to tell Kageyama.
"You really were never born without magic? So, how exactly are you able to do it then?" He asked.
"From hard work. When Chariot accidentally drained us of our magic, I was one of those people. Obviously, I didn't know that it was her back then, but she was one of my biggest inspirations to never quit. And to keep trying until I got it. All my free time was devoted to that one thing. And one day, I did. And I worked to further improve myself at it."
"All your free time huh?" Kageyama said, looking idly forward at the game that was happening with Hiruma coming up with the gameplan for Monta to close his eyes like Hinata as Monta was struggling to be accurate with his spikes.
"Are you sure that's going to work?" Lotte asked Hiruma.
"It's going to have to." He replied. "Frog brows over there is reading us. The problem is, I'm not sure how he's doing it. So until then, we need to find some way to stall or break through." He thought, referring to Hanamiya, who seemed to be the vocal ringleader of the team he was with, which was Launch, Shiro, Reagan, Toxsa and Jenny.
Kageyama remembered back when he was teased by other kids his age for not having a single video game in his house when he was younger.
"Why did you help me?" Diana finally asked as Monta emphatically sent the ball back, to the shock of Hanamiya and the others, who didn't even try to go for it, thinking it would be out.
"What?" Hanamiya thought.
Her question snapped him out of his thoughts.
"What was that?" He asked her.
"In practice, we were on different teams, but you still decided to help me anyway. This isn't like what's done before challenges. Or non-challenge days. Even though we obviously still lost so it doesn't mean much. But... why? You had nothing to gain but everything to lose from doing such a thing."
"Well, there's no challenge in going against an opponent that's significantly weaker."
A whistle was heard, indicating another game for the Breakers.
"I see... I suppose I didn't do much of a good job to make it one."
"What do you mean? I still thought it was a good game."
"Well, I'm glad to hear that. With how you're willing to help others, you would have fit right in with the Cavendish family."
Several people, including Hinata and the rest of Karsuno's team heard this and was in disbelief. Well, everyone except for Tsukishima as he didn't care.
"No way!" Sugawara said.
"She's asking for his hand in marriage!?" Nishinoya yelled out.
"Man, this is crazy, I would have never even thought he could even get a girl." Hinata commented.
"She's not asking to marry him you dummies." Noelle said, coming out of nowhere to hit them in the backs of their heads.
"Then what did she mean by-"
"What she meant by that is, what he did, even though she's on another team, would have been considered an act of kindness. Something he had done numerous times. That is one part of the Cavendish tradition. To treat and help anyone, no matter who they are, whenever they need it."
Multiple "Oh"s were heard.
"You would have known that if you would have been listening."
"Why are you guys eavesdropping on their conversation in the first place?" Ben asked.
"I wasn't! I was just in the area."
"'Just in the area'. Right."
For the last game, the players were Emma, Kagami, Zero, Yulaw, Lucy and Rick against Courtney, Aomine, Ruby, Weiss, Todd and Sophie. The game was tied 1-1.
"An opening!" Emma thought before passing it off to Kagami.
"I hope he sees what I do."
And he did. He spiked it to the opening, but Todd was surprisingly able to get to it, with Ruby setting it up for Sophie to return it back, scoring.
Now it was 2-1.
"The plan to make it seem like there was a hole in our defenses worked. Now to finish this!" Courtney thought.
Sophie served. "Set! Kagami!" Lucy called out.
"Got it!" He replied before sending it forward.
Todd stopped it and passed it off to Weiss, who popped the ball up, which was blocked by Yulaw easily.
"Curse my small height." Weiss grumbled.
"It's not your height. You just ain't hit it high enough." Aomine said, passing it to Ruby when he realized he couldn't get an angle.
"I know you're trying to be nice, but it did play a factor."
"I'm not losing this game!" Lucy thought before taking matters into her own hands and returning it, taking a ball intended for Kagami.
"Hey! What the heck are you doin'!?" He yelled out.
Aomine returned it back. "Get that crap outta here!"
"Maybe you should take your own advice and make sure it's higher!" Zero said, blocking the ball.
"Set!" Ruby called out, popping the ball up.
"Got it!" Sophie said, returning the ball.
"Someone gonna get this or..." Rick said, popping the ball upward.
"You got it?" Kagami asked Lucy, who was torn on going for it. "Hey!"
"Yeah, I got it!" Emma called out, getting it herself to send it forward.
"No way!" Courtney said, blocking it before Yulaw returned it back just as quick.
"Set up!" Weiss called out.
"Coming!" Aomine replied, running after it before choosing to pass it off to Ruby, who sent it forward.
"Lucy, you got it?" Emma asked.
"Yeah!" She replied, deciding to set it.
Emma jumped up with Kagami running forward, the former preparing to spike it before it was revealed that it was Rick that was the real spiker. Emma was the decoy. And so was Kagami.
"NO WAY!" Courtney said, reading it the whole time and setting it up for Ruby to finish it. It got past Rick before he could block it, mistiming his jump.
"F[CENSORED]!"
Zero tried to get it along with Lucy and Kagami.
...
But they couldn't.
A whistle was blown.
"MATCH! KINGS!" Tanaka yelled.
"YEAAAAAHHHHHH!" Courtney yelled out with her teammates soon celebrating with her. Aomine pulled in Ruby and Weiss in a hug while Sophie just smiled.
Emma looked up and saw Courtney holding out a hand. "Good game." The latter said.
"Good game to you as well." She replied.
Lucy had her hands on her head, in disbelief at what happened.
"This proves that I didn't do it! And remember what you've got to do! Enjoy!" Todd taunted Lucy, who sighed.
"Matches are over! Breakers get first place! Kings get second! Rats, elimination time!"
"Damn it!" Kagami said, bouncing the volleyball in frustration.
"Good matches all around. Don't be ashamed of losing guys. You gave it your best effort." Ukai said.
"Exactly. Losing is a test to see if you can get up and get stronger. And this doesn't just apply to this. But to life as well. So get up. Get stronger." Takeda said.
"I'd agree. If it wasn't for the one that one of them isn't getting that chance. Also, Lucy and Todd made a bet after the whole incident of her accusing him of drawing on his face. Here were the conditions." Chris said before he plays the recording of what he said.
"Wow. You actually accepted that? Why?" Bennett asked.
Lucy could only sigh. "Just take us to the planes."
"Oh and I'm personally granting you immunity. And Natsu. So there's no getting out of it with elimination. You're gonna see this bet all the way through." Chris said.
Rats' Plane(Economy)
"Alright. I said one of you wasn't making it back to the mansion and I was serious. One of you is going home today. Question is, who? I've got some milk cartons here. Something that Kageyama frequently drinks. You get one, you're safe. You don't, you're out! Now, go vote! Chop chop!"
***Confessional***
Sendo:
*Stamps Emma*
"She better be lucky Chris did that. Because I'd for sure vote for her. There was no reason for her to make that bet! And over getting drawn on your face? What the hell is wrong with you!?"

"Alright, looks like there's only two votes here today. Cool. So I can keep this short. Emma and Kise."
"Emma."
"I think I already know why." Emma said.
"Well... fair enough. Kise, your behavior this game was pretty out of character for you. Literally everyone saw it. So I can't even try to say some."
"I know. That was stupid. It won't happen again. If I get another chance."
"Let's find out. The final milk carton goes to..."
...

...
"Kise!"
Emma sighed.
"Emma, your first run here's done. But you're welcome to try again another season."
"Shouldn't have been surprised. I just didn't say anything in the small chance it wasn't." She said.
"Well, you predicted your elimination and the reason why. Can you predict how you'll be booted today?"
"I don't know. Can I predict getting my stu-UUUUF!" She was suddenly thrown upwards by Chef before spiked down by Doyle into a portal as she crashed back down to the ground, next to where she stayed with her bags falling next to her seconds later.
"Thanks!"
A thumbs up came through the portal, that thumb being Doyle's.
"Oh yeah. Almost forgot." Chris said, back on the plane.
"We're safe, right?" Becky guessed.
"Yes, but not what I'm talking about. Your special food prize for today is Crow!" Chris said before Chef brought out the food for them to eat to the disgust of several people. "Thank her for that too. Wouldn't have thought of the idea if it wasn't for the bet."
"You better be ready to work your a[censored] off!" Sendo yelled at her, clearly ticked off after seeing what he has to eat.
"Oh and you better eat it all Lucy. And because you have immunity, I can't boot you. So you have to eat it whether you like it or not. If we have to, Chef will airplane it to you like a baby. But for the rest of you, you can do whatever you-"
Sucy was already seen beginning to extract from the crow, creeping Chris out. Along with a few others.
She put her hands in her face again. "Please let this be over soon..."
"Oh it's only the beginning. It's gonna be some long days and nights for you." Chris said before laughing, clearly taking joy in her misery.
"Anyways, that's about all I got for today. Stay tuned to see Lucy perform her duties live on the show on the next episode of Total...Drama...Across the Multiverse!"
A/N: Emma's gone next. To be honest, in the first draft of eliminations, it was going to be Emma that lasted longer than her because of her better character at that point in time(No I don't remember if I planned any type of development for Courtney or not at that point in time when I had that idea. And I'd be lying if I said yes or no if you asked me, so don't even bother lol).
Took a little longer to get out because 1: There were some things I wanted to change or add to this episode. And 2: Forgot to save on the last game of the challenge when I had the episode literally done. Elimination written out and everything. All of it was lost so I had to rewrite it. Sucks but that's a lesson to those that don't do it often: SAVE YOUR WORK OFTEN!
Anyways, that's about it for this one. Next episode will be based off another Online Cartoon Network Game near and dear to me and my childhood, Project Exonaut! AKA the successor to the lesser known Ben 10 Bounty Hunters game.
See y'all on the next episode!
