A/N: Total Drama News Episode 5 is here! Enjoy!

Reviews:

G-Man: Originally, he was going to get further, but, obviously, things changed now compared to then. Not merge further, but a lot better compared to this outcome.

Riley, Dewey and Julie were seen in front of the camera, outside on the island.

"Welcome back to another episode of Total Drama News! I'm Riley!"

"I'm Dewey!"

"And I'm Julie!"

"And this is Huey recording!"

"Smell that? That's right! Fresh air! We're back on the island! Which is our first news story of the day!" Dewey exclaimed.

"Thanks to Skips, and surprisingly Chris, we were able to build ourselves our own new house to stay in!" Riley added as a drawing of said moment, recreated by Ayame, was shown on screen for the viewers watching the episode as it premiered.

"And if you haven't seen the episode, it wasn't an act of goodwill from Chris. It was tied into a challenge for the day. Building the house was part of that day's challenge, but it wasn't the only thing we did that day."

"But if you want to see what happens, watch the episode yourself! As for us, we're going to focus on the first question of the day, which is how people feel about returning to the island compared to before in the initial mansion and when we were allowed to go back home."

"So, who gets to answer this question first? Let's find out!" Julie exclaimed.

Paul was seen by himself eating a sandwich as his Pokemon also had their own Pokemon food, something that he was allowed to get with permission from Doyle to leave the island. The second he saw the four with the camera, he sighed, already knowing what was about to happen. And wasn't a fan of it at all.

"What's up Paul! Do you mind if we ask you a few questions?" Dewey asked.

He sighed. He really wanted to say no. But at the very least, they were asking when he wasn't doing anything important like training. "Go ahead. Just keep in mind that I have every right to refuse a question if it's something I don't think worth answering."

"A-okay with us. Alright, as you already know, in the visit to the park, we were able to build a completely new home, allowing us to go back to staying on the island full time. Now that we've had some time to stay in the house, how do you feel about coming back to the island compared to the first time? And when we were able to go back home after each challenge?"

"Fine I guess."

"I see. Short and simple. Nothing wrong with that."

"Next question. And this is one from me personally, where did you get that food for your Pokemon?" Julie asked.

"From my brother back home."

"Huh. How come we've never seen you do that before?" Dewey asked.

"I have. A couple of times. You've just never seen me do it until now."

"Man, did you come prepared then."

"Actually, in this case, I had to leave the island. I asked Doyle for permission to leave and get food for them and he said it was alright."

"So it looks like Pokemon have their own food that they eat as well. Interesting." Julie said.

"Let's be real, they're pretty lucky they don't have to eat the food we have to here." Dewey said.

"Agreed. Now, let's move on!" Riley said.

The next person that they interviewed was May, who was reading a fashion magazine.

"About time you guys showed up to interview me!" She said, in a fake pouty voice. "Serious question though, how many people have you interviewed today before me?"

"Just one."

"Can I ask who it was?"

"Paul."

Her eyes widened. "Him? Out of all the people you start with?"

"Everyone has their own thoughts on different things. Paul's no different." Julie said.

"Okay, honestly, you've got me curious now. What's the first question?"

"Compared to when we were first staying here and when we had to go back home after each challenge, how do you feel about coming back to stay here again?"

"Well obviously, there's no place like home. But, I gotta say, staying in there compared to that 'mansion' that looked like it was going to be on its last legs every day is a breath of fresh air. Crazy how just a change of the place we stay in to sleep makes a major difference. So, what's the next question you asked him?"

"Actually, that was it. Julie asked him a question about the food he was feeding his Pokemon, but that was an extra question that she personally wanted to ask after seeing it." Riley said.

"Wait, you mean to tell me Paul was willing to feed his Pokemon that food? I knew he wasn't the nicest guy in the world, but I didn't think he'd treat his Pokemon like that."

"Oh don't worry. He wasn't feeding them that food. It was some food that he went back to his own world to get. He said he got permission from Doyle, who said it was okay." Julie said.

"Well that's a relief. Even if his personality could use some work, no one can say he doesn't take care of his Pokemon."

"Agreed. Now I've got a question to ask you personally." Riley said.

"Shoot!"

"We know you're friends with both Rally and Becky. What are your personal thoughts on them? What is it about them that you like the most? You know, the things that make you enjoy spending time with them?"

"Well, I will say this. When you really think about it, they're both pretty focused when it comes to their work, even if their personalities don't make it seem that way. Both of them take their jobs very seriously. Which isn't a bad thing at all. Rally may call her a cheapskate when it comes to her fees, but she's the most reliable source of information she has. There's a reason why despite her complaints, she'll keep giving Becky business and paying her accordingly. I'm sure she's said it a couple of times here, but her claims about being the youngest and best in the business are legit."

"I'm sure their friendship plays a role in that too, right?"

"Well duh. Why do you think Becky has constantly put up with her giving IOUs or was willing to help her for free when she really needed it? Or pay late? Even though she's said numerous times that she was tired of her doing all of that. ' This is the last time I'm working for you for free' she says. Or something similar to that almost every time. I've seen how she is with other clients. She is not doing that with them. In fact, I think she charges more. In fact, they know each other so well, Rally had a hunch something was wrong when Becky called her about info and Rally sent twenty dollars to her account by mistake instead of the 200 she asked for. And was completely fine with it. And she was right. The people that kidnapped her forced her to call Rally to lead us into a trap. Although, I kinda wonder if she did that on purpose just to subtly give us a hint that something was up. Even I didn't pick up on that that quick at the time."

"Not to mention the fact that she stopped me from working on a customer's order and said for me to just watch as she personally worked on it. She didn't say who it was so I thought it was just some random customer. Come to find out, all of that personal work she did on it and attention to detail was an order from Becky. No wonder she wasn't going to let me do it. Rally loves doing that type of stuff obviously since guns and cars are her passion, but she definitely looked super happy working on this customized order. Well, happy until Becky mentioned how she was going to pay for it. I can still remember the tears coming out of her eyes as she was still smiling. I mean sure, Rally was happy to help her out. But those were the tears of someone dying on the inside too."

"Wow. If that isn't proof that they're pretty close with each other, I don't know what is." Dewey said.

"And to think, when she first came here she looked to be pretty satisfied in staying off to herself. Well, look how that turned out."

"Yep. Quite a heel turn I'd say." Julie said. "Well, that's about all of the time we have. Thanks a lot!"

"No prob! Just remember to come back here when you really want someone to chat with for answers." May said, winking at the camera.

Next on the list was Reagan who, interestingly enough, was playing a two-person game of checkers with Becky.

"Ooh interview huh? Hold on, let me finish kicking her you-know-what." Reagan said, accidentally moving her piece to the wrong spot. Something that her opponent was able to capitalize off of.

"Hah! You were saying?" Becky said to her.

"You know what? I'm not even gonna make an excuse. Just know that you're not gonna be celebrating on the rematch."

"Aww. I was hoping you'd get mad. But anyways, how are you guys today?"

"Great! Thanks for asking!" Riley answered.

"Great to hear. Now, what have you got to ask us? I'd be more than happy to answer. The best I can anyway."

"Sweet! So, this is obviously our second time staying on the island. How do you feel about now compared to when we had to stay there initially? And when we had to go back home after each time?" Dewey asked.

"Do you even have to ask? This is a thousand times better than that sorry excuse of a 'mansion' we were in before. Heck, I don't even feel good comparing that cobbled together mess to that. Though you know I'd love to be able to go back home like how we'd use to. Moreso because I can maybe squeeze a job in on the rare occasion we had a larger time gap between challenges."

"Not me. As annoyed as I am sometimes here, it is a godsend to be able to not have to worry about work. Just really glad I can do that in better living conditions." Reagan said.

"Oh right. You run that company. I'm sure that's really stressful for you. I don't think people understand how hard it is running a business compared to working as an employee for a business. I mean, both have their difficulties. But being your own boss requires a lot self-discipline that's kinda not there when you're an employee. Because in those cases, it's 'come to work at a certain time, for a certain time or you lose your job'. Obviously, it's a lot more complicated than that, but that's part of it."

"Well yeah, it is tough. But, I signed up for it. So I knew what I was in for going in. Unfortunately knowing doesn't make things any easier. But wait, shouldn't you have an understanding of that too?"

"Yes and no. At least in my case, I really am my own boss. No one works for me. Being a CEO is a completely different beast than being independent. Because now you have to make sure you take care of yourself, your business, and by extension, your employees. After all, you need them as much as they need you. As much some of these higher-ups delusionally think otherwise."

"Speaking of your job Becky, we'd like to ask you about it in regards to your relationship with May and Rally. Did you have a relationship with them prior?" Julie asked.

"Well, in a friendship sense, no. It doesn't look like it because again, I'm 25, which is young compared to my peers that share the occupation, but I've been doing this for multiple years. At some point, Rally became one of my regulars. It wasn't until they saved me in a kidnapping that I think we really started to get close."

"Kidnapping? You mean the one where Rally accidentally transferred twenty dollars to your account?" Dewey asked.

"Okay, I know Rally wouldn't just talk about that. So it must have been May." She said suspiciously.

"Yep. We just talked to her prior. We originally wanted to talk to just Reagan, but since both of you were here, why not kill two birds with one stone and see another perspective on the relationship in the same friend group?" Riley said.

"I see. But yeah, that was the one. With her being a regular, it's pretty natural to pick up on a few things about people. Like their personality, etcetera. Which for me included how stingy Rally always when it came to prices. It seemed like almost every time she wanted to negotiate for something lower. And for whatever reason, I let it go. Maybe not as low as she wanted all the time, but somewhere in middle ground that we both were okay with. Mind you, I never did that with anyone else. After they saved me the first time, and another time after, I started doing it a lot more often admittedly. Even though I really shouldn't."

"Friendship tax am I right?" Dewey joked.

"That isn't funny. You realize how much money I lost because of that? You know what? Next job she asks me to do, I'm charging double! I don't care what it is! That'll teach her to try to take advantage of me…"

"Wow. She was right." Dewey said to his companions.

"Who was right? What else did May say about me?"

"That, you were too nice for your own good?"

"Darn right I am. Well, it ends today!"

"Real question is, is that going to sit well with her?" Riley said.

"She's got no choice but for it to."

"We'll see. Later you two!"

After about a minute of walking, Riley talked into the camera. "Really interesting. With how she's usually seen acting during challenges, you'd think she wouldn't be that nice and lenient."

"And I also didn't think she'd buy that. Just as a disclaimer, this show is not related with Chris in any way. Which means, we don't intend to create any sort of drama between anyone." Dewey said. "Now, with that disclaimer out of the way, let's move on."

More contestants were asked their opinions. And afterwards, they returned with the results.

"All right, so there's pretty much a general consensus of this being better than the first time. Literally no one said otherwise." Riley said.

"Honestly, no surprise there. Not gonna lie, I'd be surprised if more than ten people said otherwise." Dewey said.

"Ten? I'd say five."

"Let's see if anyone feels any different about this next one. This one being our next headline! 'You Play to Lose the Game'?"

A drawing of the Big Ball game was shown.

"In a challenge taking place in Marzipan City named Field-Tournament-Style-Up-and-Down-On-The-Ground-Manja-Flanja-Blanja-Banja-Ishka-Bibble-Babble-Flabble-Doma-Roma-Floma-Boma-Jingle-Jangle-Every-Angle-Bricka-Bracka-Flacka-Stacka-Two-Ton-Rerun-Free-for-All-Big-Ball, or Big Ball for short, the objective was to get a big ball into an opposing team's goal first to score and win." Julie said.

"Until it was actually revealed that you're not actually supposed to win. Yeah, that's right. If you win, you actually lose. This isn't like golf where if you score lower the quicker you get the ball in the hole before par, you win. You literally are not supposed to get the ball in the goal. If you do, the game ends and you lose."

"The team that scored was the Rats. And it led to a rather controversial ending and elimination of Kurt because of it. No one on the Rats was a fan of it at all. But the question is, are those on the other teams a fan of it? Let's find out and ask around!"

Cuts of several people being asked this was seen.

"It's nonsense. What kind of game do you not play to win?" Shiro answered.

"Just look at it this way: If the shoe was on our foot, how do you think I'd feel?" Maki answered. "That should tell you everything."

"It's dumb. Just that simple." Kageyama answered.

"Just know that I'd be a lot more ticked off about it if it happened to us." Courtney answered.

"Not a fan. Name me any other game that does this. And any person that actually said they like it." Kunigami answered.

"No one so far." Dewey said, looking at the list.

"Exactly."

"Yeah, no. It doesn't make any sense. Like fundamentally, how do you make that work? If everyone knew from the jump that they're not supposed to score, you know what everyone would have done? Force someone on another team to accidentally score, or just do nothing. More than likely the latter. And if that's the case, there's no point in playing. Do you see why I say this fundamentally doesn't work now?" Isagi said.

"Yeah, I think we got it. Well put." Riley said.

After getting more votes, it seemed the results were the same as the first question.

"More one-sided results. I think this next one's gonna be a lot more interesting though. And this one being The Impossible Quiz!" Dewey said.

"This game was a part of the tiebreaker challenge between Ben and Rook, who went up against Rex and Bobo. Unlike our previous quiz challenge, this particular quiz requires you to think a lot more outside of the box. With some of the answers outright not making sense in many cases but in this game. Even Chris and Heloise took it. And even on the outside looking in, it is extremely difficult." Julie said. "Unfortunately for me, I didn't last past 11. Embarrassing I know."

"To be fair, when it's a quiz like this, I think it makes sense. Now, let's see how others have fared." Riley said.

"Oh that. I actually forgot to take it." Randy answered.

"32. Didn't understand what they meant." Yang answered.

"33. And honestly, I hate that I got that one wrong. I shouldn't have." Tsukishima answered.

"Never tried it." Din answered.

"Do you have any interest in trying it?" Julie asked.

"Not really."

"56. Misclicked one of the wrong colors. I totally had the color sequence memorized too." Zee answered.

"53. Overthought it. And it was pretty easy too." Rally said.

"48. Didn't get the reference they were trying to make." Octavia answered. "Apparently it was a….Metal Gear Solid reference?"

"Wait, how did you get the wingdings question right? I lost all my lives trying to figure it out." Blake asked her.

"I guessed."

"Oh."

"61. Used up my previous skips and I couldn't figure this one out. So I guessed. And obviously, guessed wrong." Jotaro answered.

"Wait, how did you take the quiz if you don't have a phone or computer?" Julie asked.

"I just asked Heloise for a computer to borrow. Tried using Isagi's phone and I couldn't figure it out."

"I'm more surprised you wanted to take it honestly." Dewey said.

"Why?'

"Well… you know what? Neve rmind."

"Figure it out? That's a funny way of saying starting to get mad. But anyway, 52. Look, I know I shouldn't have gotten that wrong, but we all make mistakes." Isagi answered.

"46. Look shut up! I told you I don't know video games that well alright!? Jeez." Becky said, blushing as she was embarrassed that she got a question referring to Sonic the Hedgehog wrong.

"Did she really get that one wrong? Wow Becky, you are really out of touch when it comes to that. But I can't really talk. I got stalled at 48. Thankfully I had a skip. But then I ended up getting 54 wrong." May answered.

"75." Sucy answered.

"What!?" Tsuskishima said in disbelief, along with slightly jumping a bit, showing some of the most emotion he's had since being on the island.

"That's all on your first try?" Riley asked, just as surprised.

"Yes." She answered.

"How!? Did you use any skips?" Tsukishima asked, still in shock.

"48 and 61. I literally got 75 wrong just because it was a one second question and I wasn't ready for it. Never played those games for to know 48. Didn't know 61 either."

"Still, to get that far is incredible. I'm sure it was difficult." Julie said.

"Eh, not really. Once you figure out what the game is doing with these questions, you should be able to figure out most of them. The references and the bomb question that I just mentioned earlier will probably be the hardest ones more than anything else. And those will probably be the ones that get you. That or if your memory isn't good or you haven't been paying attention."

"Have I ever emphasized how much you annoy me?" Tsukishima asked her. "And I mean that in a way that's completely different to how some of the other people here annoy me."

"Probably."

"Well I'm going to reiterate it again. Just in case."

She only blinked before saying, "So are we still playing later or what?"

"Yeah I guess…. not like you'd be able to beat it by yourself anyway."

"Sounds like projecting to me when you're doing the same thing."

"You're starting to really irritate me."

"You already said that."

"Exactly!"

Next was Louie.

"You mean overall right?" Louie asked.

"First attempt preferably, but I guess that works too." Dewey replied.

"61 on the first attempt, actually."

"61? No way. You had to have cheated. I couldn't even past the Wingdings question! I had to guess!"

"I actually guessed the Wingdings question and got it on the first attempt. And lost two lives on 58. Couldn't figure out what 61 meant." He said, shrugging.

"Did you play it again to try to finish it?"

"Nah. Not yet. Haven't felt like playing again after the first few times."

"Tell me your secret! How did you get that far the first time?"

"I mean, you still have to think outside the box. But, more likely than not, if all else fails, you can eliminate some of the answer choices that seem like they make the most sense. Because in this game, the answer that makes the most sense is usually not the right one. I say usually because sometimes it is the right one. So then it's a case of what's left. And if you don't know it, you just gotta be lucky enough to guess it right. Which is what I did for more than a few questions."

"So you mean to tell me you didn't look up a single one?" Dewey gave his brother a very skeptical look.

"Well duh. After the first attempt. So I can remember next time. You really think I'm about to lose earlier just because I forgot?"

"There it is. But honestly, it's still not the answer I was expecting."

"Well it's the answer you got. Also, what question did you stop at?"

"39."

"Oh yeah, I skipped that one." Louie said before laughing a little.

"Ran out of skips."

"Yikes. That makes sense."

"Hey wait a second. Riley, you're the only one here other than Huey who hasn't said anything about the quiz. What did you get?"

"I…. uh…. kinda….. forgot to take it?" Riley answered, half embarrassed.

"And you're supposed to be well-informed for these! For shame Riley! For shame!" Huey said.

"Oh give me a break. I just forgot! And aren't you supposed to be the cameraman? Cameramen don't talk."

"Okay number one, I talked in the beginning. Cameramen deserve credit too. No cameraman, no footage. And two, I was joking. Not my fault you took it unnecessarily took it personal."

"Okay, let's all take a chill pill. No need to fight." Dewey said.

"Not fighting!" Both said simultaneously.

"Okay, I think that's a sign we-" Julie started, seeing how things were about to get worse, preparing to end the show until Dewey said something.

"You've gotta see this!" Dewey said.

"See what? What's going on?" Huey asked as he and Riley immediately stopped arguing after hearing this.

"Apparently some info for future episodes got leaked. Louie sent this to me."

"Which probably means it's unreliable." Huey said, realizing he got the same message.

"Why?" Julie asked.

"Because Louie sent it."

"I don't know. If it is some sort of prank from him, he went into a lot of detail." Dewey said, scrolling.

"Well if it's reliable I don't exactly feel comfortable showing the whole world that info. What if we get into legal trouble for it?"

"Legal trouble? That sounds like a bit mu-" Julie started.

"I'm cutting the recording! Not even risking it. We can just trim this out later."

After Recording

"Working at a job? Cliff jump challenge redone? This is a lot." Riley said, reading the list.

"Exactly! We should- wait. You know, Huey's kinda got a point. I think we should keep this to ourselves." Dewey said.

"See? And you guys said legal trouble was extreme." Huey said.

"That's not it. If we tell everyone about this, Chris might end up changing the challenge list. If we do it this way, we don't have to worry about that happening. Besides, it's not as if the list tells you who won."

"Honestly, that makes sense. I'm fine with that." Riley said. "But anyways, let's look at this list!" She pulls Dewey's phone towards her before he pulls it back.

"Hey, come on, chill out. This is still my phone after all."

"Sorry, sorry. Just really excited."

"Yeah, I can tell. But anyway, let's see…"

"Except for the sniffleball one. If that's what I think it is. Only Chris would make baseball disgusting." Riley said.

"I just wanna know, who the heck is Blade Dilfson? Sounds original to me." Huey said.

"That's…. Actually, I don't know." Dewey said.

"That's probably Deadpool. Who else mentioned being overused?" Riley said.

"Huh. You might be on to something! Anyways, let's agree not to tell Chris anything about this."

"Agreed." The other three said simultaneously.

Also, I'm in Florida on vacation with family at the time of posting this and won't be back until late Sunday or some time Monday so expect the Ed, Edd n Eddy episode to take a little longer for released simply because I won't have any time to write it during those days like I was able to with this(Even then, I started this a couple days prior at home before I finished it on my phone).

See you there!
