Chapter 16: Walker's Plan B: Out of Order
Team Phantom, Misty, and Valerie soon arrived at Fenton Works and managed to avoid the rain.
Danny's parents weren't here since they left to talk with Star's father about some last-minute things about the trial. Since they were alone, Danny and Star brought some snacks and beverages for their friends and soon continued with their story.
"Okay, where were we?..."Danny asked, after taking a sip of soda.
"You mentioned something about Star's Dad taking Vlad down a notch and Walker and his minions getting even more desperate..."Val reminded.
"Right. Like I said, Walker got angry that things weren't going his way, and he resorted to drastic measures..."Danny said as he continued with the story.
Story
"Oh no! What's he up to now?!..." Danny whispered to his girlfriend as the evil warden whispered into Vlad's ear before talking to his second in command about their backup plan.
"I don't know, but it probably isn't good..." Star said nervously.
Vlad also eavesdropped on Walker's private conversation with his communicator and smirked at what he heard. Walker had a smug look on his face, as he glared at the half-ghost boy and his allies.
"Now..."He whispered, seeing this was his best chance, and soon ordered his minions.
Bullet nodded, signaling to the guards posted around the courtroom, and slightly nodded in response.
As the Observants were aware of what was happening but did nothing, Walker and his minions made their move. Suddenly, things became crazy as everyone around the defendants sprung into action. Weapons were drawn out and trained at Danny from all sides and the ghost boy gasped once he noticed it.
"Danny!..." Star shouted in concern, but the ghostly guards soon surrounded and apprehended, everyone from Team Phantom, including Johathan.
"Hey, let go!..."Jazz shouted.
"Unhand me!..."Johnathan shouted while his hands were restrained just like all the other Team Phantom members.
"Hey, get away from them!..." Danny demanded, but his enemy sent him a taunting look.
"Try and dodge, and all of your accomplices will get blasted from all sides! So surrender!..."Walker said in a threatening way.
Danny glared at him.
"So, you are literally resorting to threats right now? And in front of the Observants too?..."The ghost boy said flatly.
"If these know-it-alls had any sense at all, they would've thrown you in the slammer by now! But they all might turn a blind eye towards all your crimes, and I won't stand for it any longer!..."Walker said, not caring who could hear him right now.
"And I thought Vlad was the fruitloop..." Danny replied deadpan.
"I heard that!..."Vlad said in annoyance.
Most of our heroes couldn't believe that the evil warden had resorted to ambushing all of them during the middle of a courtroom trial. And to their surprise, the Observants still did nothing as this continued.
"Now once and for all, you, your punk friends, your girl, and especially that lawyer of yours are going to rot for the rest of time in my prison and there's nothing you can do about it!..."Walker said, confident that he'd win.
He couldn't help himself get overconfident as he spoke.
"Any last words, punks?..."Walker asked, looking smug.
Danny looks to Tucker, who nods and presents his PDA.
"Yeah. Duck..."Tucker replied, surprising them.
"Strange last words..."Bullet answered, not seeing any ducks.
"Not for you..." Danny said, while his friends smirked.
Tucker pushes a button on his PDA, and suddenly Skulker stiffens and raises a canon.
"HEY! What are you-..."He asked as his arm cannons shot out ghost energy blasts and fired miniature missiles.
"DUCK!..."The guards yelled as they ran for cover.
A blast that hits one guard before ricocheting around the room. Danny and Team Phantom ducks away from the blast, hitting Walker in the stomach.
"GAH!..."Walker yelled as he attempted not to get hit by the missiles and blasts that were hitting random objects.
"Oh dear..."The Head Observant said as he raised his hand...and created shields around him and his subordinates as the missiles and blasts kept blasting random things in the courtroom.
Johnathan, having ducked as well, blinked when he saw how Danny and Tucker were controlling Skulker right now.
"How?!..."Johnathan asked, wondering how this was even possible.
"Tucker hacked the safety protocols of Skulker's armor from his PDA and the rest is history..." Danny explained.
Johnathan blinked.
"That's...quite impressive for a high school student..."He admitted.
"Thanks. I think but it's not really as difficult as you might think..."Tucker said before he went back to what he was doing.
"Don't be modest. Hacking Skulker's suit is as easy to you as eating at the Nasty Burger..." Danny said, while his enemies were angry too.
Especially Skulker.
"Grrraarrrgghhh!..."Skulker growled annoyed that he got hacked AGAIN as he glared at Technus.
"This is the last time that I use you for tech support!..."He shouted, having expected that problem to have been fixed ages ago.
"Don't blame me, TECHNUS, for your shortcomings, Skulker!..."Technus snapped at him.
Skulker growled but unintentionally sent blasts again and some even hit some of their enemies, starting with Undergrowth.
"OW! My leaves! How dare you?!..."Undergrowth shouted in anger at Skulker.
"It wasn't me! It was him!..."Skulker yelled as he pointed at Tucker, who smirked.
"I'll be here all week folks. Tip your waitresses and fly home safe..."Tucker said in a joking way, while the evil ghosts glared at him and his friends.
More chaos happened as the rest of the ghosts joined in the chaotic scene. An all-out brawl broke out, and everyone, human and ghost alike began to join the fight.
"The great one is in trouble! Warriors! Let us join this battle!..."Frostbite declared.
"Finally! I was wondering how long this would take until this trial became a brawl!..."Zoren said with a smirk as he joined the others.
"Time to show these ruffians what real warriors can do!..."Queen Dora said as she used her amulet to morph into her dragon form.
"Now you're speaking my language. Time to crush these fools like flies..."Pandora said as she raised a spear and joined the fight.
"Oh, goody. This should be fun..."Amorpho said with mischief as he decided to join, but soon saw the Dairy King sitting back. "You're not gonna join?..."He asked.
"I don't like conflict. I send other people to fight my battles. Plus, all I can do is summon my dairy-fresh goodies and I don't turn them into monsters. A perfectly good waste of dairy, in my opinion..."The Dairy King said as he sat back and watched the battle, drinking some milk tea the entire time.
Amorpho shrugged before he joined the battle too. The Observants said nothing as they continued to watch this.
"I told you all that this would happen..."One observant said.
"You didn't need to, we knew too..."Another observant said.
"Milk tea?..."The Dairy King offered them some since he knew this fight might take some time.
"Thank you..."The head observant said as he and the others took some, drank the tea, and continued to watch the fight.
With Danny
Now freed, Danny started to fight back like he wanted to.
"Now this is what I call a cold serving of justice!..." Danny quipped as he sent ice blasts at Walker's goons.
"You said it, Boo!..." Star said as she and the others kept fighting and avoiding the angry ghosts.
The Lunch Lady uses her meat to create another monster to attack. Johnny sent his Shadow to do the same as it wrapped around its targets and knocked them down.
Ember smirked.
"Alright! Now this is what I'm talking about!..." Ember said as she used her guitar to send fists blasts at random ghosts, finding this fun.
"ORDER! ORDER! ORDER IN MY COURTROOM! DON'T JUST STAND THERE! STOP THEM!..."Walker yelled, hating all of this chaos and ordering his guards to stop this chaos.
"I better get a big raise for this!..."Bullet thought with annoyance as he flew towards Team Phantom, weapons aimed at Star, Sam, and Tucker.
However, he suddenly found his legs frozen all of a sudden.
"WHAT THE-..."The rest of him was frozen solid too, courtesy of Frostbite.
"I do believe it is UNFAIR to fight an unarmed opponent..."Frostbite said with a frown.
"Indeed. Here you go, young warriors..."Pandora said as she handed the non-ghostly Team Phantom weapons such as sabers, clubs, and others.
"Thanks..."Sam said as she grabbed one.
"Thank you..." Star said as she grabbed a weapon that reminded her of her ecto-saber.
"Yeah, thanks..." Jazz said as she grabbed one as well.
"What they said..."Tucker said as he also took one and they all soon ran to join the battle.
All the while, Star's father was trying desperately to find his daughter somewhere in this dangerous battle and protect her.
"Star!..."Johnathan shouted in concern, but nearly got blasted by a missile from Skulker, but was saved by Frostbite.
"I got you!..."Frostbite said.
"T-Thank you..."Johnathan said before he recalled that his daughter was somewhere in this dangerous mess.
"Star!..."He shouted in worry.
"Here. You may need this..."Queen Dora said as she handed him a sword.
Johnathan was speechless but soon heard more blasts and recalled where his daughter and her friends were right now.
"Let's hope all those years of fencing lessons will pay off..."He grumbled as he ran into the ghostly fight to find his daughter and protect her and her friends.
With Star
However, once Johanthan found her, he was left speechless with what he was seeing.
"TAKE THIS!..." Star shouted, as she used the saber to knock out Nocturn. "That's for putting that awful dream helmet on Pierre, you jerk!..."She yelled at him, before she went back to fighting other ghosts.
"Take this, you little brat!..."Undergrowth shouted, as he tried to use his plant powers to get her.
However, Star responded with some quick chopping, and soon Undergrowth basically resembled some topiary work, such as a poodle.
"Yeah, you really needed a trim..." Star said, and Undergrowth fled to regenerate.
Johanthan was at a loss of words now.
"Star..."He whispered, not realizing he was a sitting duck until his daughter gasped.
"DAD! LOOK OUT!..." Star shouted, as she ran and pulled him out of the way.
Just in time before Bertrand got a chance to blast him from behind, though it was soon clear that what Bertrand did was no accident.
"Darn it. I missed..."He grumbled, only to be hit by Penelope Spectra.
"Hey! That good-looking lawyer is off limits! And I haven't forgotten what you did, you little traitor!..."Spectra shouted as she used this chance to wail on him.
"HELP!..."Bertrand yelled but was ignored.
Johanthan was stunned over the fact that his daughter just saved his life.
"S-Star..."He said, still flabbergasted to say the least.
"Are you okay, Dad?..." Star asked, sounding concerned.
"ME?! You...You-..."He was then cut off when more blasts and explosions were heard.
"Oh man, I got to help the others. Stay safe..." Star said, as she ran back to the battle.
"Young lady! Get back here and-..."He was speechless against as he watched his daughter and her friends suddenly used their makeshift ghost weapons and took down both the Lunch Lady monster form and Technus, who used the limited tech here to make a makeshift robot suit.
"What?..."He said, and Frostbite misunderstood his reaction and smiled.
"You must be proud of your daughter. Lady Star may be human, but she has already proven to be worthy of the Great One due to being such a fierce fighter as he is..."Frostbite complimented.
Johanthan soon saw his daughter facing Ember, who smirked.
"I've been waiting to do this all day, Blondie!..." Ember said but was soon hit by an ice blast from Danny and Star hit her with the saber before she had a chance to recover.
"I have been waiting to do that all day too!..." Star said as she went back to the battle.
Johanthan was speechless as his daughter wasn't scared and seemed to be able to take on an entire squad of ghosts. Sure, since they gotten close to the Fentons, dealing with ghosts was inevitable and Johanthan even learned to use some of their weapons to protect his daughter.
Though it seems she is more than capable to handle herself as she was currently dodging attacks from the ghosts and also landing a few good hits as well with the weapon she received from her ghostly allies. And that's not including how Danny was using his powers to aid her and their friends.
"Allow me, Starlight..." Danny said, as he froze several ghost guards and rogue ghosts that were too close to her.
"Thanks, Boo. I can always depend on you..." Star said as she even went as far to kiss his cheek, before going back to the fight.
Danny smiled in a loving way, before he went back to attacking ghosts.
Johanthan also saw that Sam, Tucker and even Jazz were handling the fight and were doing really good. Like they were doing it for years and even better than Jack and Maddie, which didn't go unnoticed.
"They truly are spectacular warriors, aren't they?..."Pandora said, before she went back to crushing some ghostly enemies.
Johanthan snapped out of it and recalled that he needed to help.
"Okay, ask a million questions later. Fight now..."He said as he used the sword and tried to defend himself against the ghosts in order to join his daughter and her friends.
The fight kept going. Johnathan, by some miracle, used a sword to block a few errant attacks, while the rest of Team Phantom fought, and Danny used his powers to protect them from his enemies or stray blasts.
"Take this!..."Johanthan said, as he swung and managed to slice one of the ghost guards' weapons in half.
He smirked.
"It's not the Fenton Blaster...but I'm not complaining..."He said as he continued.
"Take this! You no-good, lying jerk!..." Jazz said, as she used her weapon to try and hit Johnny.
"I see that you're still mad..."Johnny said as he kept dodging her.
"You tried to use me as a vessel for your girlfriend and attacked my little brother a million times! NO DUH!..." Jazz yelled as she swung and Johnny barely managed to dodge it, though she did do damage to his jacket.
Kitty got angry.
"Hey! No one can put Johnny in his place but me!..."The green haired ghoul said, as she flew at her but was soon met with a hit, courtesy by Sam.
"So predictable..."The goth girl muttered, before she dodged a blast from Ember, who had recovered to rejoin the fight.
"Don't forget that this is a free for all fight, Miss Doom and Gloom!..." The ghostly diva shouted.
"Meaning anything goes...so long as you don't get caught..." Spectra muttered to herself, as she looked another for someone specific.
Namely a certain lawyer. She spotted Johanthan who was still fighting some of the ghost guards and she smirked.
"Maybe now we can start over..."She thought as she planned to fly over to him.
Unfortunately for her, she was met with a sudden hit, courtesy from Star.
"Don't even think of it, you old hag! He already has a girlfriend that's better than you'll ever hope to be! And even if he didn't, I will NEVER let you become my stepmother!..." Star said in anger.
Spectra glared at her.
"Lousy little brat! The first thing I'm going to do after I get that hunk lawyer is sending you to boarding school! AFTER I get all the misery I can out of you!..."The ghoul grumbled but before she could attack her, Danny sent blasts at her to protect Star.
"You'll have to get through me, before you can even dream of going after my Starlight!..." Danny shouted, as he shielded Star from any ghosts trying to attack her blind spots.
Team Phantom continued to fight, determined to win this fight.
Meanwhile
Bertrand and Amorpho were in the middle of their fight as they each transformed into a polar bear and purple backed gorilla respectively.
"Take this, you faceless wannabe!..."Bertrand shouted as he tried to use his claws to slice him, but Amorpho avoided it by turning into a snake.
"Nice try, you spineless little errand boy!..."Amorpho said as he transformed into a T-Rex and chased after Bertrand.
It didn't end there as Danny's allies joined in the fight, and Frostbite was even enjoying himself.
"Ah, this sure brings back memories of fierce battles..."The yeti ghost said, as he froze an entire squad of guards who tried to attack him.
"I know what you mean..."Pandora said as she zapped about 10 enemies...including the Box Ghost.
"NOT AGAIN!..."Box Ghost yelled in pain.
The Lunch Lady glared at that.
"HOW DARE YOU?!..."Lunch Lady shouted in anger as she made her monster form bigger and more menacing looking.
Pandora just had a bored look on her face.
"Oh please..."She said as she zapped it, which resulted in the Lunch Lady screaming in pain and all the meat and food she used being burnt to a crisp.
"Hey! That was uncalled for! This was all Grade A quality meat, ya know!..."Lunch Lady complained.
"Don't care..."Pandora said, before she zapped her again.
"AHHHH! Stop that! It's WAY too well done now! How is anyone going to eat their meat if it gets all burnt to a crisp?!..."The lunch lady complained.
"Again, don't care..."Pandora said before going back to the battle.
She wasn't the only one. Virgato attacked the lunch lady's monster meat form, while also eating some of the crispy meat, since he also liked his meat cooked well done.
"Not bad. Got any barbecue sauce?..."Virgato asked, and the Lunch Lady got annoyed.
"NO!..."She shouted in anger.
"Too bad..."Virgato said as he used his claws to try and attack again.
The chaotic battle continued and Team Phantom was still defending themselves and their allies. Which became harder as a certain fruitloop had an idea.
"Looks like I am going to have to get rid of Daniel and his friends myself..."The fruitloop muttered as he got ideas.
However, his eyes landed on Johnthan and he glared at him.
"But first..."Vlad said as he sent an ecto-blast towards where the attorney was...one that was blocked by Danny.
"So not happening, Fruitloop!..."Danny said as he fired several ecto-blasts and ice-blasts at him.
Vlad dodged them and got annoyed.
"So, you still love playing the hero, Daniel? Then let's see if you can save them too?..."The evil fruitloop said, confusing the ghost boy but he soon realized what he meant.
Vlad rose up firing a ghost ray that zipped across the courtroom right towards Star, Sam and Tucker. Acting without thinking, Danny pushed Star down, while he protected the rest by blocking the blast, taking the ecto-energy blast in the chest. Danny let out a yell of pain, but was still standing as pink smoke was wafting from the injury.
"Pity that didn't waste the punk..."Walker thought coldly.
"Danny, are you okay?..." Star asked in concern.
"I'm fine, I've taken worse..." Danny reassured, while he winced a bit in pain. "What's the matter Vlad? Getting rusty in your old age?..."The ghost boy taunted.
"I'll show you rusty!..."Vlad snapped as he attempts to attack the young heroes again.
Danny and Vlad sent ecto-blasts at each other in the air above the others, both trying to get the upper hand on the other. Unfortunately, one of the blasts from Vlad deflected from the shield the Observants had, hitting a nearby window. This started to get on their nerves to say the least.
"I do believe this has gone on long enough!..."The head observant said, before he and his subordinates decided to end this.
Everyone stopped in their tracks after a loud hammering sound echoed across the courthouse.
"There will be no further attempts of violence in this courtroom..."The Head Observant said angrily waving a hand.
Suddenly, glowing chains were wrapped around and restraining almost everyone in the courtroom. The chains dragged everyone back to their proper sitting, while some of the rowdier ghosts were still wrapped in chains to stay still.
"Uh...why didn't you guys do that like ten minutes ago?..."Sam complained.
"We are the Observants. We only OBSERVE things, not directly interfere. Though this is one exception..."One observant said.
Sam glared at that, but Star was more concerned with her father right now.
"You okay, Dad?..." Star asked, concerned for him.
"I should be asking you kids that..."Johanthan said, tired and worried.
"No worries, this was nothing. We do stuff like this every day..."Tucke said not so helpfully.
Johanthan cringed, not liking hearing that.
"Oh no..."Star's father whispered under his breath, as his mind races out of concern for his daughter's well-being.
Sam then proceeded to glare at Tucker, who noticed.
"What?..."Tucker asked.
"So not the right time to brag about the dangerous stuff we survived to one of our friend's overprotective father..."Sam explained in a hushed tone.
Tucker realized his mistake, but before he could say anything, Walker spoke again to the Observants. And once again, he tried to blame Danny for everything.
"Your honor... THIS so-called attorney and his delinquent client purposely turned this courtroom into a brawl and made a total mockery of this trial! I put forward the motion he be dismissed!..."Walker said, shocking Johanthan.
"Seriously?! You're blaming us for that fight?! You were the one who started making threats in front of everyone!..." Johanthan loudly complained.
"He's right! You're the one who started it!..." Danny yelled at the evil warden, but the goons all pointed their weapons at him.
Walker glared at him, before turning to the Observants once more.
"Your honor. Please understand that Danny Phantom is nothing more than a troublemaker and lose cannon who brings chaos wherever he goes. He turned this trial into a war zone and needs to be locked up, before he causes any more serious trouble. Not just to his town but to the Ghost Zone as well..."Walker said, still trying to prove Danny is the bad guy here.
"That's a blatant lie! The Great One is a genuinely benevolent person and only tried to defend himself and his allies!..."Frostbite shouted.
"This does not concern you, yeti..."Walker said in disinterest, enraging Frostbite but ignored him.
"I believe that this serves further proof to my claim that Phantom is nothing but trouble and should be locked up. We all saw it with our own eyes. He's trouble and who knows what kind of trouble he will cause in the future..."Walker said.
Danny got angrier now.
"You're the one who started it by threatening us and you're the one who turned this court case into a battle zone when this trial didn't go your way! Stop being such a lying hypocrite, Walker!..."The ghost boy shouted.
"Silence, you punk! Ever since the day you first step foot in the Ghost Zone, you caused nothing but trouble! And I am ending that today!..."Walker yelled.
He then turned to his bosses once more.
"I do believe that now is time for the jury to reach their verdict..."Walker said, knowing that he still had Danny's enemies on his side.
The Observants were silent, but they nodded.
"I do suppose that this has gone long enough. I suppose decisions should be made..."The Head observant said.
"Yes, and soon. My favorite soap opera is on in thirty minutes, and I'd hate to miss it..."Another Observant said.
Team Phantom didn't like this.
"This isn't good! The jury is still rigged, and they all know it!..." Danny said, hating this.
Everyone on Team Phantom's side had a panicked expression on their faces, fearing this won't end well. Johanthan, however, was having none of this and spoke up again.
"Your honor? Before the jury makes their decision, I would like to speak to the jury one last time...If I may?..."Johathan began.
"Yes, Councilor Strong?..."The head observant asked, though he already knew what he wanted to say.
"Given the unusual circumstances that happened within the last five minutes...which were started by SOMEONE trying to use threats and intimidation in order to force my client into a very unfair situation. Please, give us chance to make a testimony to defend both myself and my client, who clearly had been trying to defend not only himself, but also my daughter, his sister, his friends and myself..."Johnathan began, ignoring the glares Walker and his goons were sending them.
Star's father continued.
"Please, allow my myself and my client the chance to speak once more and then make your decisions..."Johathan requested, and the Observants considered it.
"Very well. Proceed, councilor..."The head observant declared.
Johnathan took a deep breath letting out slowly, knowing that it's now or never.
"Here goes everything..."He thought, knowing this is not over yet.
Present Time
"Uh...guys..."Tucker said, interrupting the story.
"Yeah, Tuck?..."Danny asked, briefly stopping the story.
"You guys mind if we pause the story for a bit. I'm out of chips..."Tucker said, while the others sent him annoyed looks.
"Seriously?..."Sam asked, while Tucker shrugged.
"Hey, it's my 4:35 feeding and I'm a growing boy..."Tucker said, and the others rolled their eyes.
"Fine. Hurry back..." Danny said, and Tucker nodded as he went to get some snacks.
"Hey Tucker. You mind bringing me back some more of those pretzels?..."Val called out to him.
"On it, Val..."Tucker said as he went to do so, and Val smiled back at that in a certain way.
Star, Sam and even Misty all saw what just happened
"Looks like those are getting along better than I hoped for..." Star quietly said to the others.
"So obvious..."Sam said.
"I guess..." Misty said with a shrug.
"What are you guys talking about?..." Danny asked and Star giggled.
"Oh, just some innocent girl talk. Don't worry about it, Boo..." Star said while her boyfriend remained clueless and even Valerie wondered what that was about.
They decided to take a break and waited for Tucker to return so they can continue with their story.
