One Journey Ends, Another Begins
Part 5 of a request for TheDoctor1998
"Where is she? Do you see her yet?"
"Serena, calm down…"
"DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!"
Clemont sighed, and fell silent. He understood Serena's worry, but he also knew it wasn't doing them any good.
It had been a very chaotic day. First Alice and Alain had their Kalos League finals match, and after a long hard fought battle Alain emerged victorious. Alice was disappointed at first, but her friends were quick to cheer her up.
At the closing ceremonies, just as Alain was handed the champion's trophy, disaster struck. Team Flare, led by the enigmatic Lysandre, launched their evil plan, leading to massive vines to spread all over Kalos. Worst of all, Alice was taken. Serena had wanted to chase after them, but was forced to deal with the more immediate dangers.
Now, everything had settled down. The vines, while not gone entirely, had stopped growing, Lysandre was stopped, and people could rest easily, but Alice was still MIA. Serena tried not to panic, but the longer the search went on the easier it became all too easy to assume the worst.
Just before she could set off to look for herself, Steven Stone's private helicopter touched down, and out stepped Alice, tired but safe. The moment they locked eyes, the two women smiled and raced towards each other, breaking down into tears as they embraced.
"Alice, thank god you're alright!"
Alice cringed slightly as Serena squeezed her, making the other girl loosen her grip.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to-"
"It's fine, just some bruises. Let's just say that terrorists don't tend to treat captives nicely."
"Oh god, Alice, are you alright? Let me see, I can-"
But Alice shook her head, and pulled Serena into an even tighter hug.
"Knowing you're alright is all I need to feel better."
"That's so cheesy."
"Maybe, but you love me anyway!"
Serena rolled her eyes, and hugged her back.
"Yes, I do."
"Well, that's good, because I love you too."
Alice stirred as the morning sun hit her face. She was about to get up, but felt her arm pinned by something. Looking over, she came face to face with her girlfriend. Looking over themselves, Alice realized they were both naked, and instantly memories of last night came flooding back, and her face flushed a bright red. Just as she was about to wake her, Serena opened her eyes, and smiled.
"Morning, beautiful."
Despite the awkward position they were both in, Alice smiled, and kissed her.
"Right back at you. So…last night, huh?"
Serena's face went as red as hers, and she awkwardly twirled her hair around her finger.
"Yeah…That was…wow."
"Was that a good wow?"
"It was incredible. I've never felt so alive, but…"
"Serena?"
"We're not moving too fast, are we?"
"This was your idea, you know. We didn't have to…"
"No, it's not that! I loved it, I wanted it, but…are we taking things too fast? We've only been going out for two months, and we just said "I love you" to each other for the first time today."
Alice nodded, and pulled her close.
"Serena…when I was being held captive, I learned something. Through all the pain and agony, the only thing keeping me from giving up was the thought of seeing you again. I knew I couldn't let you suffer any more than I was. I didn't want to see you in pain. It was then that I realized I love you, and when you asked me to do this…I knew it was the right time."
Serena smiled, tears of joy trickling down her face as she kissed her.
"I love you too. The entire time you were gone, I couldn't think of anything else but your safety. I'm glad you wanted this, I can't think of anyone I'd rather spend my first time with."
"I'm glad you agree. Now come on, let's go get some breakfast, I'm starving!"
"Alice, don't you think you should…"
Alice blushed, realizing she was still naked.
"Oh, right."
"You sure you want to come home with me? You can stay here if you want, we can always call."
Serena smiled, and shook her head.
"And miss the opportunity to meet my girlfriend's mother? Besides,I figured you could use some support after…you know."
Alice nodded sadly.
"How are you holding up?"
"Honestly? I miss him already. I've always been close to my Pokemon, but with Greninja it was something special. Not quite like with Pikachu, but…"
Serena nodded, and squeezed her hand.
"It's not goodbye forever, just for now. Once those vines are gone, he'll come back."
Alice smiled, and kissed her on the cheek.
"How'd I get so lucky to have such an amazing girlfriend like you?"
Serena smiled, and kissed her back.
"I'm the lucky one. Now come help me pack."
"Yes, ma'am!"
Delila and Serena got along like a house on fire, much to Alice's relief. Although things got awkward when she accidentally walked in on them having sex. It took some time to calm her down, but once they explained everything they had been through, she was supportive.
"At least we don't have to worry about any unplanned pregnancies!"
That made the two women blush, though Delila did make them promise to be safe. Beyond that, though, life returned to normal for them, much to Alice's relief. After the Kalos disaster, she needed some peace and quiet. Her and Serena spent their days playing with their Pokemon (though Bayleef had to be talked out of choking Serena with her vines), going on dates, or introducing Serena to Alice's friends. Serena was most shocked when Brock asked her out, but thankfully Misty pulled him away.
"She's Alice's girlfriend, get your own!"
Alice chuckled fondly.
"He did the same thing when he first saw me. Imagine his surprise when he found out I was his old friend?"
Luckily, the introduction went much more smoothly after that. Misty, May, Dawn, and Iris all loved Serena, and they quickly became fast friends. Serena, May, and Dawn could go on for hours about fashion, something Alice found out the hard way.
"Sorry about that," Serena apologized to her that evening. "I forgot fashion isn't your cup of tea."
"It's fine," Alice waved it off. "I'm glad you guys are getting along so well. They're all like family to me, I couldn't imagine them not liking the love of my life."
Two months had passed since they returned to Kanto, and at the moment Serena was sitting on a ledge at Oak's lab, watching the Pokemon play when Alice came up.
"Hey Serena, guess what?"
"I give up, what?"
Alice smiled, and brandished two plane tickets.
"Mimey won a contest for a free vacation to Alola! Mom can't leave the restaurant for too long, so she asked me if we wanted them."
"Really? Your mom is okay with us going off halfway around the world on our own?"
"Pretty much. You in?"
Serena smiled, and took one.
"A tropical vacation with the woman I love? Count me in!"
