"You're becoming a nuisance, Kaname scolds walking to Yuki, in your insistent pursue of finding Zero"
"Kaname-senpai" Yuki quickly close the distance then happily wraps her arms around his waist, staring adoringly up at him. Completely missing his words.
"Zero is busy, he turn his head to stare in his mate's general direction, I'd prepare him in order to protect you from Rido Kuran, Kaname detangle her arms from around him then push Yuki at arms length, and in doing so I'd made a lot of regrettable decisions" he explains.
"What are you talking about?" Yuki frowns confuse. 'What's he saying, didn't Kaname do that because he love me, why does he sounds like he regret protecting me?'
"I was the one who killed Shizuka Hio, Yuki gasps at the confession, and let Zero take the blame wrongly, his gaze finally shift to her, I placed a burden on a child to protect you Yuki, which was wrong, and I intent to make it up to Zero, so I'm apologizing in advance for not being able to give you what you want"
"What do you mean brother, Yuki shakily inquires, didn't you make Zero my guard because he'd give his life for me-because he loves me-that's why you hate him right, she again close the short distance between them, why do you seem remorseful suddenly, what happened between you two that you suddenly care about his wellbeing?!" she demands hysterical gripping his coat.
"Compose yourself Yuki, burgundy eyes hardens while prying her hands off, you can't keep behaving like a spoilt child, though I can't entirely fault you too much, Kaname sighs softly, but I intent to correct past mistakes starting now, Seiren"
"Yes, Lord Kaname" the female vampire appears instantly behind him at her name.
"Escort Yuki back to the Moon dorm and keep her there, with force if necessary, he turns away, we'll have much to talk about upon my return before leaving the Academy, ensure you have no unfinish businesses Yuki"
"As you command, Seiren walks forward to prevent Yuki from going after the leaving pureblood, let's go Lady Yuki"
"No, brother wait-you can't treat me like this-Kaname!" she screams struggling against Seiren's hold.
'Time to do what I must in respect of this former self' Kaname leaves Cross Academy.
A feminine figure strolls along the school pathway, dressed in a black and red plaid high-waist, pleated skirt, a white long sleeve button-up blouse tucked inside, long silver hair flows free at knee length, feet clad in flat shoes. Every enemy vampire she encounter instantly freeze then shatters into nothing at a snap of her fingers.
She makes her way to the front gates, arriving just in time to see Yagari firing at multiple Level E's trying to enter.
"You seem to need some help" she freeze the entire hoard with a flick of delicate wrist, leaving the gates intact.
"You could've gotten here sooner brat" the hunter falls to a knee heaving, injured, so relief at the familiar voice he didn't bother looking back nor noticed the difference in pitch.
"Be grateful I decided to help" Zero flips silk hair walking unhurried to the one eye hunter.
"Who are you?" Yagari ask once the silverette came into view, eye narrow in suspicions.
"Ever the cautious one, Yagari, she stretch a pale hand to the weary hunter then cast a healing spell, I assure you I'm Zero Kiryu, whole and better than ever" she lowers her hand once done, resting it on a hip.
Kain, Ruka and Aido arrives then as Yagari stand and takes a step away from the silverette.
"Are you really Zero, the hunter ask skeptical, eyeing her form, far as I know Zero couldn't do that, he points to the frozen vampires, and is male"
"For vampires you lot sure are slow, Zero's gaze settles on the blond, ignoring Yagari's words, Aido it's been a while" she purrs.
Aido flinch at familiar eyes which didn't go unnoticed by his equally surprised schoolmate.
"Yes, it has Lord Kiryu-I mean Lady" Aido bows deeply, lowering blue gaze, further surprising the others with his words and action.
"Oh, Zero tilts her head amuse, seems my mate finally taught you manners" she palms a cheek with a sly smirk.
Kaien arrive next.
"Zero...?" the ash-blond questions uncertain.
"A bit late aren't you father, icy blue slit eyes briefly shift to Kaien, there's nothing for you to do here, go back to your precious students, Zero turn to the main building, night students go and protect your pureblood hime as Lord Kaname ordered, she snorts behind a palm, I'm going after that impudent child" she then walks away nonchalant.
"Wait Kiryu, Kain calls after Zero, ignoring Aido's attempt to silence him (and the fact he-she refer to a old and powerful pureblood as a misbehaving child), are you sure about confronting Rido Kuran alone"
Zero pause then release a wave of deadly aura freezing the air and ground, "you'll all just get in my way, invisible wind list her hair, everything will be explain when Kaname returns" she continue on after using a blaze of blue flame, melting the ice instantly.
"What happened to Kiryu?" Kain asks watching her leave.
"What was that about Hanabusa?" Ruka demands hotly.
Both questions directed at the blond who bite his bottom lip, refusing to meet anyone's gaze.
"Lord Kaname mated Zero Kiryu" Aido informs after seconds of tense silence, eyes and fists clench shut.
"This isn't the time for jokes" Yagari growls, grip tightening on his weapon.
Ruka stumbles, suddenly light headed, Kain steady her quickly before she fall.
Kaien almost drop his sword baffle.
"Don't you think I know how impossible that sounds, Aido groans dragging both palms down his face, I wouldn't believe it either if I hadn't seen them together, Lord Kaname told me himself"
"Then what about Lady Yuki?" Ruka ask unsettle.
"How would I know" Aido snaps frustrated.
Kaien remain silent in stupor, 'what in the world happened!?'
At night fall Ichiou ends the wounded and pathetic hunter's president just as Kaname arrive at the Senate HQ.
"Huh, it's Lord Kaname" one of the guards at the building entrance, that spots him approaching first, announce.
They grow apprehensive at the pureblood's slow deliberate steps.
"W-we need to report this to Lord Ichiou" turning to run inside, the vampire burst into ash terrifying the others who soon share his fate.
Kaname strolls inside leisurely.
"I've been waiting for you-oh, what's this, Rido, sitting atop a plie of his servants, stare at the silverette walking calmly closer, Shizuka? No she died, who might you be, the craze pureblood eyes her thoughtful, you look familiar, no matter, he brush it off a second later, you can entertain me until Juri arrives, but I won't be selfish and hog all the fun, he grins, why don't you guys toy with her for a while" the mad King commands his servants, tone playful.
"I was going to make your dead agonizing, Zero pause a yard away, unconcern by the slowly advancing vampires, but for waking my mate, I'll make it quick, cold air seeps from between pink lips, after playing for a bit, its been a while" she unleash some aura, freezing solid all the vampires except the pureblood.
"Do you feel that?" Rima asks the others guarding Yuki.
"It's Kiryu" Ruka informs softly.
"Lord" Aido inputs.
"What's up with his aura?" a now awake Senri inquires curious.
"I'm just as lost as you" Rima states.
Senri eyes his other silent and unease classmates.
'What's going on, everyone's suppose to hate Zero, especially Kaname, Yuki pace around the room, ignoring the exchange out side her door, no Zero HAD to be that person for me to look like the kind and benevolent one because Yuki Cross-no, she shakes her head, Yuki Kuran is someone who is loved by everyone, she pause, but Zero is ruining everything again!'
"Why did Kaname's feelings for Zero-for me suddenly changed, she bite her thumb anxious, this can't be happening, I've been patient and generous with Zero he wouldn't dare betray me by going after my Kaname, Yuki flops onto the bed, no I'm overthinking, Kaname isn't even attracted to men-let alone Zero, he's only getting along with Zero like I'd asked, she giggles nervous, yes that must be it" her pupils trembles, staring at the ceiling.
Kaname walks the hall of the building, heading to Ichiou's office, killing every vampire he encounters.
"Where are you going?" the brunette ask the blond about to escape using a underground passage.
"I was thinking I would try and escape while I still had the chance" Ichiou answers honest and calm.
"I see, Kaname stares at his back, a wise move"
"It would be a bit premature to turn me into ash at this juncture" Ichiou states.
"If you're going to find your God, he's already been torn to shreds by my lovely mate" Kaname informs proud.
"God is it?" Ichiou snide.
"What's the matter, did you not find me suitable enough for your purpose" Kaname mocks.
"That wasn't the case at all, the only reason we didn't chose you is because your a being we cannot control, Kaname smirk at his words, Rido Kuran however is nothing more than a fool, as long as you manage to satisfy his apatite, controlling him is rather easy but still-"
"Let's end this dull conversation here" Kaname cuts off uninterested.
Ichiou suddenly use a flash grenade to escape, when it clears the noble vampire is gone.
"Please allow me to handle him" Takuma's words stop the pureblood from pursuing the traitor.
"Takuma" Kaname acknowledge his presence.
"As a vampire I have betray you, Takuma's grips on his sword tightens, however as your friend, you have my word that I will never do it again, he bows deeply, please allow me to prove that to you" he remain in position.
Kaname turns then walk silently forward, place a hand on Takuma's lowered shoulder then leaves without another word.
"Thank you, Kaname" straightening, Takuma went after his grandfather.
'In any plan there's always the unexpected' Kaname destroy the building pillars on his way out.
Flashback
"You do know getting rid of the Vampire Senate would cause a power imbalance right, Zero raised a perfect brow at Kaname, lying on his naked chest, it will cause a bigger mess we'll eventually have to clean up, unless you want everything to crash and burn"
"That was the intent with them being so corrupted, Kaname sighed caressing Zero's naked back, but the situation changed with the awakening of previous memories, I want you to myself for at least a couple century enjoying and seeing new things, like an extended honeymoon, in our last life I died leaving you behind after a millennium once my mortal body finally gave out, but now with this body we can be together eternally"
"That doesn't mean you should be irresponsible, Zero admonished halfhearted, why not place your loyal minions in charge until we decide to take over, we can't just leave the vampires without a leader, that's the equivalent of a headless chicken running around, I thought you smarter than that Kana" he teased.
"I see your ploy, Kaname chuckled, but we don't have to rule, some other pureblood could take charge"
"Kana, Zero pouted, you really just want me to admit it huh" Kaname gave a innocent smile.
"Fine, he pinched the pureblood's cheeks, I enjoy ruling over an Empire as your Empress, with loyal servants to do my every command-
"Can't you do that either way-"
"Shush, Zero placed a finger to soft lips silencing him, we've done it before handing the Empire over to our children and their descendants, wasn't it fun and fulfilling, there never was a dull day so why not do it again, Zero purred leaning up to steal a kiss, should we ever grow bored, traveling to another world could provide some entertainment"
"Very well, you've convinced me, but I'll need to be even more so, in other ways, tone suggestive, then we'll have one things to decide on"
"What's that?" Zero asked against his lips.
"What to name our new Empire" Kaname grinned.
Flashback ends
Standing a distance away, Kaname watch the building collapse, 'my task here is done, have you accomplished yours, my Zero?'
