Disclaimer: I in no way own Harry Potter, although I wouldn't mind one bit if I did.

1: can I help?
After the guard leaves I feel a piece of paper in my pocket. Pulling it out I see it says. "Miss Potter. I know you fancy yourself something of a hero. But even heroes need a little help. I have collected some of the most powerful items used by the greatest heroes of all time, and have stored them in a chest in the sewers below Farhaven. They're yours if you want them, my gift to you. Use them wisely.
Ps, there are entrances to the sewers south of the tavern and south of Adrionus Manner.
Death"
I blink after finishing the note. Do I go searching for whatever these items are? After thinking about it for a few minutes I decide to not check this out until I have explored the town. Looking at my map I see a tavern to the north, likely the 1 mentioned in the note, and so I will start there.
I follow the road north a block until I see the tavern on my right. Turning toward the door I walk in. The tavern consists of a large open room, with a hallway leading north toward 4 other rooms. A short man wearing a simple brown tunic stands near a fireplace. His sandy brown hair and thin beard are beginning to gray. A kind-faced woman in a simple brown tunic and shol stands over an empty cooking pot. She has reddish hair streaked with silver. There are empty shelves along the south wall. Since she is nearer than the man I turn toward the woman and strike up a conversation.
"Greatings travoler."
I smile at her greeting. "Do you work here?"
The woman smiles kindly. "My husband and I run this inn and tavern. If you want a bed for the night, talk to him. If you want food and drink, talk to me."
I nod thoughtfully. "Can you give me any advice?"
The woman smiles. "Lots of people around town have work or problems that a traveler like you might solve. Try to ask around."
Deciding to put her advice to good use I ask her. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
The woman looks almost relieved. "Actually, there might be. Talk to my husband, Samual. He'll explain our situation to you."
Giving her a smile I turn away to talk to her husband. "Need a room for the night?"
Remembering what his wife said a minute ago I ask. "Your wife mentioned you were having some trouble?"
Samual scouls. "She shouldn't have said anything. We have no right to ask a stranger for help. Besides, it's all a bunch of nonsense."
For some reason, I feel my magic react. Maybe Hermione was right. Perhaps I do have a saving people thing, and maybe it's tied into my magic. I give Samual my most sincere smile. "But I want to help."
Samual seems resigned. "Alright, but promise you won't laugh."
I give Samual a nod. "You have my word."
Samual sighs. "Guests in the large north bedroom have been having trouble sleeping lately. Strange noises, things rattling around. Last week 1 guest swore they saw, well, a ghost."
Internally I cackled. "That would certainly be bad for business."
Samual shrugs. "Personally, I don't buy it. Too many glasses of ale before bed, that's the culprit. But if you could look around a bit, maybe put my wife at ease, I'd appreciate it."
I smile at Samual. "Sure, I can take a look."
Samual seems to straighten up from under an unseen weight. "I very much appreciate it. Now was there anything else you needed?"
Shaking my head I step away from Samual. I walk over to the hallway leading north and walk down it. The first door I find is on my right. As I enter it The words "South small bedroom" appear above my head. In the room, I can see a bed, a set of shelves, and a mercenary. The shelves contain a ring, and a small potion vile. An amulet sits on the bed. After collecting the items I exit the room without talking to the mercenary.
Walking down the hallway I come across another door on my right. This time as I enter the words "North small bedroom" flash above my head. The room has a set of shelves, as well as a bed. However this time though the shelves contain another ring, the bed is empty. Collecting the ring I exit the room.
A few steps down the hall I find another door on my left. Entering the room the words "South large bedroom" flash above my head. The room contains a bed, a desk, and an empty set of shelves. Walking over to the desk I find a rabbit's foot necklace and another potion. The bed is empty, so I exit the room.
Continuing down the hall I reach the final door on the left. Entering the room the words "North large bedroom" flash above my head. This room holds a bed, a fireplace, and an empty desk. Walking over I search the desk, and find a broken amulet. This might have something to do with what has been going on here at the tavern. With a broken amulet in hand, I exit the room and head back to talk to Samual.
Walking up to Samual I show the broken amulet to him. "I found this in a bed in the north large bedroom. Do you know what it is?"
Samual studies the broken amulet. "I've never seen it before."
I gaze at Samual. "Do you think it might have something to do with what your guests have seen?"
Samual shutters slightly. "There's something unsettling about it, I'll give you that. I'm not saying I believe in ghosts. I'm just saying, it might be nice to know more about this amulet."
I smile to myself. It seems Samual will go to great lengths to deny his belief in ghosts. "Is there anyone in town Who knows a lot about artifacts like this?"
Samual looks relieved to pass this mess off to someone else. "You might try Father Ignatious at the temple. He's our local authority on supernatural matters. There's also a professor who lives in the northeast part of town. He's a bit eccentric, but he knows more about this area's history than anyone."
I give Samual a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, I'll get to the bottom of this."
Samual returns my smile. "Let me know what you find out. If you need anything else, just ask."
Giving Samual a nod I exit the tavern.
As I step outside I finally notice the screen above my head. This screen consisted of tabs each with a label. The topmost tab is labeled "Character details". The next 1 is labeled "Quest log". The third tab is labeled "Inventory menu". The fourth tab is labeled "Equip menu". The fifth tab is labeled "Use skills". The sixth tab is labeled "Talk to party". The seventh tab is Labeled "Fast travel". The eighth and final tab is labeled "Level up". Curious I tap the first tab.

I stared in amazement at my stats. I knew I was over-reliant on my magical abilities, and I also knew I could outrun almost anyone, but my constitution was just so low. Somehow I will need to work on that. Tapping an x in the upper right corner of the screen my details disappear. Deciding to think about my stats later, I find a map, and looking at it locate the temple.
Following my map I head north. I pass a fountain, and continuing a little farther find the temple doors on my right. Entering through the doors I find a second set of doors that lead into the temple chapel. Standing next to an altar is who I guess is Father Ignatius. He is Dressed in a flowing white raiment with gold embroidery, his head is clean-shaven, as is his pale face. I walk over to him.
As I approach Father Ignatius he says, "You were lead here for a reason. Tell me what you seek."
Pulling the broken amulet from my pocket I show it to him. "Can you identify this amulet?"
Father Ignatius examines the broken amulet with great interest. "Remarkable! Amulets like these were worn in ancient wedding ceremonies; the knot symbolizes the eternal nature of love. A pity that it's broken."
I place the amulet back in my pocket. "Any chance it could have something to do with supernatural activity?"
Father Ignatius nods. "It's entirely possible. If a spirit had a strong connection to this amulet, it could have been greatly angered when the amulet was broken."
I wince at the thoughts running through my head. "It must be in great pain. So how do we put it to rest?"
Father Ignatius frowns. "The first thing to do is to mend the amulet. I'll research ways of repairing it... but without the other half, there isn't much I can do."
Nodding to myself I decide to help this spirit. "Alright. I'll bring you the other half if I find it."
Giving me a nod Father Ignatius turns back to the altar.
Realizing the Father looks distracted I decide to ask "Is there anything I can do to help?"
Father Ignatius's eyes light up. "Ah, I can see you have a brave and generous spirit. There is a task that you might do, but it could place you in danger."
I can feel the thrill of adventure course through me at his words, but I keep calm. "If it will help, I'm willing to take that risk."
Father Ignatius smiles in relief. "Then you are truly sent from the Divine! One of my brethren, a priestess from this temple ventured into the graveyard to the east. She sought to purge it of the dark influence that now hangs upon it ... but I fear that some evil has befallen her. Please, if your path takes you into that awful place, will you try to discover her fate? I will give you what reward I can."
For some reason, I feel I will be meeting an old friend soon. I don't know why. "If she is alive, and I have breath to defend her, I will."
Father Ignatius sags in relief. "Truly you have a noble spirit. May all blessings go with you."
With that, I exit the temple and head for the eastern gate. As I walk through town I spot a beggar on the side of the road begging for gold. I didn't stop to see what he needed. However, as I approached the eastern gate a guard stopped me.
"I'm sorry, citizen, but nobody leaves the city without direct authorization from Lord Adrianus. Trust me - it's for your own protection."
It looks like I will need to go and see this lord Adrianus before I can help anyone else.

An: and that is the end of the second chapter. Next time we will head for the Adrianus manner, and see if Ivy can get permission to exit the town.
