Thrown into the future
Harry felt a tingling pain run up his spine. He felt like he had just fallen from a great height and hit the ground. Harry groaned and sat up. He no longer felt his glasses perched on his nose. Feeling around and feeling the cold metal touch his hand. Harry pushed it to his eyes, his vision clearing but slightly blurry because of the broken glass frame. He checked his pocket and felt the long piece of wood still in place.
The place was dark but dimly lit. The ground was damp and surrounded by moldy wood.
"The basement?" Harry mumbled to himself. The place looked like a basement. There were no windows, all the walls were covered in wood. There was only a small lantern that lit the place. Harry was confused as to how he got here. Trying to remember what he did before. His brow furrowed in deep thought.
"Oh no, Time Turner." Harry looked around in panic and found the hourglass had shattered not far from where it had fallen.
Harry collapsed to the floor, his energy draining so fast. His left hand clutched the broken Time Turner. "Hermione will curse me." Harry said tiredly. He put the hourglass in his pocket and pulled out his wand.
"Lumos." Light shone throughout the room. There was a small staircase leading up to the room. Harry woke up with the last of his strength and climbed the stairs carefully. He had no idea what he was getting into. He didn't know where he was, it was a strange place and he had never seen it before. Harry hoped it was a place he recognized. Maybe Hogwarts? Because he didn't remember Mrs. Weasley having a room like this.
At the top Harry found a small wooden door at the top which fortunately was not locked. Opening it slowly and looking around. The room above looked like an office, a large desk with piles of papers scattered around, some picture frames and a comfortable chair behind it. The room was almost as big as Dumbledore's office. But Harry was sure it was not Dumbledore's office. The walls were not made of stone but of polished wood. After feeling safe Harry opened it wide and crawled out.
"Expelliarmus." A voice came from behind Harry, startling him. Harry's wand flew out of his hand.
Harry cursed himself for being caught. How did that person just appear out of nowhere.
"What are you doing in my office Albus." The voice said angrily.
Harry shivered, the voice was familiar, it was like his own but deeper than his own. And did he call him Albus? Did he mean Albus Dumbledore? But how could he not even look like Albus Dumbledore. What Albus would be small and skinny with black hair like this.
"Face me young man." The voice said again.
Harry dared to turn around to face the man. He stared at the floor trying to think of a way to escape, even without his wand.
Harry knew the man in front of him was older than him. His shadow looked big and much taller.
"How do you explain it? Look into my eyes Albus." The man said.
Harry looked up at him. Green eyes staring into other green eyes. Harry's mouth dropped open, his pupils wide. That face? Like his father's but no he had green eyes and a scar? What the heck. He didn't remember his father having any other relatives.
"You're not Albus, who are you? What are you doing in my house." The man said pointing his wand in front of Harry. Instead of answering Harry felt fascinated by the man. It was like a picture of himself when he was old. Just like his father.
Harry remembered the time turner, could he have been thrown that far? but Hermione said the Time Turner could only go back a maximum of 3 hours. Could it have been damaged and thrown further than it should have been. Looking at the man, he must be Potter. Harry assumed the man could be his grandfather or great-grandfather.
But what about the scar? How did his grandfather get the exact same scar as him.
"May I know what year it is?"
Harry asked politely not wanting to cause trouble with his own relatives.
The man looked a little confused but answered anyway. "2020."
Harry covered his mouth in disbelief. He was moving forward instead of backward. That meant the man was...
"Are you Harry Potter?" Harry asked.
"Yes, no one doesn't know me," he said sarcastically.
"Oh no. How? Oh no I could ruin time. Hermione will curse me." Harry said in panic.
"Ruining time?" Old Harry asked. Harry tried to catch his breath and face his older self.
"Look, I'm not lying or making anything up but I'm from 1994. I'm yourself from the past. I accidentally broke the Time turner and ended up in the basement."
The man frowned in thought. He stared at Harry intently for any sign of a lie but he didn't seem to find any.
"When did I first use the time turner?" asked the old Harry.
"Third year, to save Sirius and Buckbeak."
"What's Hagrid's dragon's name?"
"Nobert or Noberta because she's a female." "Where was your room until you were 11?" "The cupboard." Harry rolled his eyes. Old Harry lowered his wand.
"Why do you always get in trouble?" Old Harry grumbled.
"You know yourself trouble always seeks me out."
"What did you do with that Time Turner without Hermione?"
"Y-yeah that's me... well that's ridiculous. I just for fun because I saw Hermione's Time Turner on her room table. I didn't mean to go back in time, but when I held the Time Turner, Hedwig hit my hand and it fell to pieces. I was thrown and fell here." "Because of entering someone's room without permission." Old Harry chuckled, he moved and sat on the sofa. Signaling Harry to sit down too. He conjured two cups of tea with his wand.
"I actually just wanted to tell her that Mrs. Weasley had finished making dinner but Hermione didn't answered so I checked his room. Can you send me back?"
"I don't know, but if I was here you should have gone back to your time. I don't remember this so I must have been given a memory spell before I came back so don't be afraid to mess with time. I'll try to find a way to send you back. But I don't think you'll be back anytime soon. Time Turners usually only go back a few hours not years. You were even thrown forward not backward. It would take a long time to make a time Turner go back years. Nobody has even made one yet."
Harry buried his face in his hands. If he hadn't touched the time turner he wouldn't have ended up here.
"Don't worry. I'll help you." Old Harry put his arm around his shoulder. "I just realized, I'm this small." Old Harry chuckled.
Harry looked up with an annoyed face.
"Well what do you expect with Dursley."
Old Harry smiled sadly.
"At least you'll be happy in the future. You left them in seventh year." Old Harry encouraged.
"Really? What about Voldemort?" Harry asked curiously.
"I managed to kill him in 1998. Many sacrifices were made in that battle but we finally succeeded."
Harry couldn't smile he felt relieved but his heart felt like it was burning on one side. In the future he managed to free the wizarding world from darkness but he was afraid of the sacrifice. How many people sacrificed. Harry sighed and turned his attention to any direction. Harry's eyes looked around and observed the picture frame on the table that he didn't pay much attention to earlier. There was his older self side by side with a beautiful red-haired woman. Two teenage boys and one girl. The two boys both had Harry's messy hair but their eyes were different, one was brown and the other was green exactly like his. The girl with green eyes with a little brown. She looked very much like her mother.
"Ginny? You married Ginny?" Harry
surprised to see his older self. Harry knew Ginny liked him but he didn't have any feelings for her.
"Yeah. I know you don't like him yet now but will be in the future."
Harry nodded in understanding and looked back at the photo.
"Those three are your children?"
"Yes, my first child with brown eyes, James Sirius Potter he is 16 years old. He loves pranks I think it is influenced by the two Marauders names I gave him." Old Harry laughed.
"Next to him is Albus Severus Potter."
Harry's eyes widened, Severus? was he kidding.
"I know Snape is bad, but you will know he is useful in the future. Albus is 14 years old, he is good at potions, a bit quiet and doesn't like pranks. Lily Luna Potter is my youngest child, she is 12, sweet and cheerful. She is like Hermione, good at everything."
Harry looked at his three future children. James looked like him but not as much as Albus. Albus was a perfect reflection of himself without the glasses and scar. Lily was so cute as a little Ginny.
There was a knock from outside.
"Honey, come down, dinner is ready." A woman's voice said. It had to be Ginny. Harry thought.
"I'll be down in a minute," said old Harry.
"So you said you came here to warn Hermione about dinner. That means you haven't eaten yet, care to come downstairs with me? I'll explain to them if that's what you're worried about. I'm sure they'll understand." Old Harry.
"Okay." Harry answered.
The two of them left the office and went downstairs to the kitchen. There was the sound of children talking and laughing. Harry's heart was beating fast. He was going to see his children. How would they react to seeing their own father the same age as them?.
Old Harry opened the kitchen door while Harry hid behind it.
"Hi dad." The girl said smiling brightly. It must be Lily.
"Hi honey." Old Harry greeted back.
"So, we have a guest today."
"Who? Is it Rose? Hugo?" The green-eyed boy asked. It was of course Albus.
"No. It's really complicated."
Ginny looked on worriedly.
"Who's that Harry? I didn't know we'd have a guest."
"It was unexpected actually. He appeared here suddenly because the Time Turner broke."
They all know what a Time Turner is. But they have never seen its true form.
"Because it broke, it's possible that the Time Turner was damaged and sent him to the year instead of the hour. And what's even stranger is that he was thrown forward instead of backward."
"Someone from the past?" Asked the brown eyed teenage boy who joined the conversation.
"Well 26 years ago. Harry." Old Harry called and Harry shifted so that he wasn't covered by his older self. The whole room gasped. Harry's children looked at old Harry and young Harry in turn.
Harry scratched the back of his neck which wasn't itchy. He was getting very nervous.
"Hi." He said.
