CHAPTER 253
Dr. Johnson's mind was in overdrive. Hell Fire's sudden calamitous entrance had left every fiber of her body vibrating. As she came out from behind the couch she guided Kyra along with her.
Just beyond the window they saw Hell Fire's dark and menacing shape. They heard her growls and grunts. Despite how loud they were it didn't seem entirely enough to mask Kyra and Dianna's footsteps as they navigated through a minefield of broken glass.
Kyra could tell her breathing was too fast. She tried to slow it down but only ended up holding her breath and then gasping back into a fit of hyperventilating.
Dianna had her by the wrist. She squeezed Kyra's arm, trying to comfort her as they went along.
In the dark ahead of them Dianna saw two shadows moving behind the desk. Daniel and Seth were making their way toward the hanger door. From the middle of the office Dianna saw the door open a crack and Dr. Conners poked his head through. With a motion of his hand he beckoned Daniel and Seth to the door. They crept silently and made their way over without trouble. Whence at the door Dr. Conners moved aside to let them pass through.
Bryce reassumed his position at the door and looked to Dianna and Kyra.
They had only inched a little closer as they shuffled through the glass, and behind them Hell Fire was looking their way. Bryce's heart jumped as he saw the carnotaurus moving toward them. He sprang from the door and shouted.
"Run!"
