CHAPTER 265

Daniel had Dr. Conners by the shoulders and was dragging him out of the locker. Dr. Conners winced and groaned. He pushed with his feet trying to help, but Daniel was doing most of the work. With another heave Bryce was out of the locker and sprawled over Daniel's knees.

Daniel felt the back of Dr. Conner's jump suit and how it was torn and saturated with blood.

Dr. Conners felt Daniel's hands giving him a pat down. He looked up at him and said what he already knew. "Deep lacerations, a couple of cracked ribs, and if I'm lucky a pending bout of septicemia." He winced again. "I'd be lying if I said I'd had worse days." He let on a weak smile.

Daniel returned the smile and said, "Don't worry. I'm not going to let any of that slow us down." The smile faded from his face, and he reached to break Dr. Conner's neck.
