Site B concerns the untold chaotic events that occurred on Isla Sorna prior to, during, and immediately following the original Jurassic Park disaster. Several of the dinosaur species have begun to breed on their own, and the velociraptors in particular are creating havoc. In the background a corporate scandal deeper than Dennis Nedry unfolds.

267. Chapter 267

CHAPTER 267

Daniel raised his gun, but Dr. Conners pushed the barrel aside.

"No. We're already surrounded."

Daniel looked back at the hanger. He could hear the carnotaurs bellowing. At the same time he heard sounds in the surrounding jungle. It stirred with more raptors.

Daniel turned back to Dr. Conners.

Bryce said, "the whole thing is a trap. It always was."

The expression on Daniel's face intensified. "It's not the worst position I've been in since yesterday."

He wheeled Dr. Conners around and pushed him back toward the hanger.

"What are you doing?" Bryce said between wincing.

Daniel corralled Seth and Kyra, gripping each of them by the sleeve and practically tossing them forward.

"Where are we going?" Seth demanded.

"Back in the building." Daniel thrust the barrel of his shotgun toward the hanger.

As Daniel said this the sounds of Hellfire and Two Face smashing through rubble were heard from inside.

"What!" Kyra shrieked.

"You've gotta be kidding me!" Seth dug his heels.

Daniel forged on without skipping a beat. "It's either out here with a shitload of velociraptors or in there with the two carnotaurs. One of those options involves following the guy with the gun." Daniel kept going. He reentered the office through the broken window and poised himself like he was about to dodge a tackling football player.

Seth and Kyra looked at Dr. Conners.

Kyra took his wrist. "Dad?"

Bryce heard the bellows of the carnotaurs, and he knew they would be crashing into the office any second. He gripped his daughter's hand and put his other palm on Seth's shoulder. "Follow my lead. If I fall behind don't stop. Just run."
