CHAPTER 291

Falcon came next to Daniel. Her approach was very much the same as how she addressed Ms. Murdock. Daniel maintained a cool collected look, though there was an ever so subtle glint in the deep black of his pupils that he was ready for one last fight, even knowing that he would die doing it. He refrained and kept himself at bay, and Falcon continued her examination of him.

Vulture had joined her, and the buzzard-like utahraptor bent down to pick up Daniel's shotgun in her teeth. She held it up for Falcon to get a look at. When the clan leader had eyed it over, Vulture passed the weapon to a nearby velociraptor, and it was taken away. Daniel noted that a similar thing was happening to the other two shotguns that had been left on the ground within the enclosure.

"Starting a collection are we?" Daniel rocked on his heels. "Too bad you don't have any thumbs or pointer fingers. They're a whole hell of a lot more fun when you can shoot them."

Falcon paced around him, sneering and grunting. Her feathers prickled, and her stiff tail whipped side to side.

Daniel followed her with his eyes. "We really ought to find some way to communicate, because I'm getting the impression you've got loads to say and you wouldn't be into the idea of playing a game of charades."

Falcon snorted and snapped her tail near his face. Then she moved on.

Daniel found himself looking at a lingering pair of eyes that belonged to Vulture. She hunched and scowled in her buzzard-like way and then followed Falcon.
