CHAPTER 292

Falcon's broad shadow fell over Dr. Johnson and Dr. Conners. Dianna looked up at the utahraptor with emotion laden eyes. There was a mix of expressions fleeting across her face, and she never settled on one in particular. She didn't speak. She didn't feel there was anything to say.

Across Dianna's lap Dr. Conners was in a near death state. It was difficult to say how much longer he might hold on.

Falcon angled her face down at him. She saw his state of being and smelled the bacterial odor wafting up from his festering wounds. She knew he was dying.

Falcon recalled Dr. Conner's presence from as far back as she could remember. There were others, but he was often there as an observer.

Falcon was searching for a sense of reason to the world she was brought into, but it did not appear she was going to get it from Dr. Conners, not now.

Falcon began to pace, and as she did, Seth and Kyra watched her. The utahraptor was powerful and commanding. The way her feet struck the rooftop made them feel like they were being circled by a two legged clydesdale.

Seth and Kyra also caught the eyes of surrounding velociraptors. They saw the severe expressions of the dinosaurs and knew that it was personal. Seth and Kyra both thought back to when they were smashing eggs in the raptor nest.

Where Falcon was seeking answers, the rest of the clan had an openly less complex desire. They purely sought retribution.

What interactions would transpire next between the humans and the raptor clan would never be known. For an unexpected occurrence interjected and changed the course of things.
