Ch 129 A New Trainer
Sinnoh Region, Snowpoint City
In Snowpoint City of the Sinnoh Region, Hermione found herself in a chair beside a long Desk with many Teachers working in their cubicles.
"So…" The bushy-haired Girl flinched, turning her attention to Candice organizing some Papers on her Desk. "Hermione, this is some basic procedure in the Registration Process to become a Student here." The Ice-type Gym Leader explains to the young Girl.
Hermione nodded, understanding what the black-haired Woman was saying. "Ah, right, I understand, Miss Candice." The bushy-haired Girl said, having been through the process of admission. "I had gone through this before when I First applied to my Boarding School." She commented,
The Ice-type Gym Leader smiles at the young Girl before her. Candice's hazel Eyes glance at Irina, sitting next to Hermione. "That makes sense, I did have a feeling that you came from a pristine School from the moment I saw you," Candice giggled causing the Two before her to smile in response,
Hermione turns to the dirty-blonde haired Professor and has a question about what Candice said. "What does that mean, Professor Ceder?" The bushy-haired Girl asked her Friend,
"Well, Candice is a very observant Person; which is typical for a Teacher and a Gym Leader," Irina explains to Hermione, "She needs to be able to help and teach young trainers." The Pokemon Professor informed the young Girl.
"Like a Mentor Figure?" Hermione said, comparing the Job of the black-haired Gym Leader to that of a Mentor. "I've never seen that kind of relationship outside of School or Work. You're telling me that other Gym Leaders also provide those types of teachings?" She asked the Two Adults,
Candice nodded, confirming that what Hermione said was true. "Yep, that's pretty much our Job as a Gym Leader." The Ice-type Gym Leader said with a smile. "Though it does sound easy on paper; it's still a rather difficult task for anyone. Even Veteran Leaders do struggle from Time to Time with trainers." The black-haired Woman said, continuing to work on Hermione's Registration Papers.
"In any case, let's continue with your Paperwork, Hermione," Candice said, smiling at the brown-haired Girl, responding with a nod.
After completing some gritty and needy details about Hermione, they soon arrive at the part of the Registration Form that asks Hermione about her experience with Pokemon. "I know that you're new to the Sinnoh Region, but it's a requirement that I have to ask you this question," Candice explains the part they need to go over,
"Of course, I understand perfectly," Hermione responded, sitting properly in her chair,
Candice nodded, proceeding to ask Hermione the question. "Now, Hermione have you ever encountered Pokemon before? Like when you were young?" The Ice-type Gym asked the bushy-haired Girl.
Hermione immediately shook her Head, responding to the question. "To be honest, I grew up in an Area where I don't see that many Pokemon around." The bushy-haired Girl answered Candice, "My First encounter with Pokemon was when Professor took me to her Laboratory where I met my First encounter Pokemon, Piplup."
"Though I did meet a couple of Round Pokemon working with the Nurses and the Doctors at the Hospital." Hermione pointed out, remembering the Normal-type Pokemon assisting around the Medical Staff.
Irina smiled, hearing the bushy-haired Girl describing Chanceies, "Those were Chanceies, they're Normal-type Pokemon that help Medical Professionals as additional Nurses and Assistants to Nurse Joy at Pokemon Centers." The Pokemon Professor informed Hermione whom she saw at the Hospital where she was staying.
Candice added to the conversation, adding a little tidbit. "Actually there are a few Pokemon that are similar to Chanceies in the Medical Field." The Ice-type Gym Leader informed the new trainer more about Chanceies and other Pokemon in the Medical Field.
"In any case, I have an important question regarding admission to our School." Candice continued, reaching a crucial part of the Registration. She saw Hermione nodding, indicating that she understood what was needed from her.
The Ice-type Gym Leader proceeded to ask the bushy-haired Girl the crucial question. "Given your situation and background, are you willing to work alongside with Pokemon?" Candice asked, raising an important question for Hermione to ponder about.
Hermione took the moment to think hard about the question she was asked. She never really thought that she might too have to get some Pokemon of her own to properly traverse this World. "I haven't thought of it actually, this is all too new for me."
"It's quite alright, it's pretty common for new trainers to come to Trainer Schools around the World," Candice commented before Irina began to speak.
"If I remember from what my Brother said, Helena did come to the Rustboro City's Trainer School." The dirty-blonde haired Woman said, unintentionally telling Hermione about her missing Friend. "She and Gardevoir met when she was just a Kirlia,"
Candice chuckles, looking at Irina as they discuss the black-haired Woman. "Oh yeah, I heard from Helena herself that Gardevoir back when she was just a Kirlia, she was quite a handful." The Ice-type trainer commented, encountering plenty of Pokemon like Kirlia in her Career.
"Yes, Adam did say Kirlia was skeptical of everyone before Helena's arrival," Irina said, leaning back in her Chair, "Not sure how Helena did it, but help Gardevoir be more trusting with People." The Pokemon Professor commented,
Hermione couldn't help but listen to the Two Adult Women's conversation about the Friend she'd been looking for. "I didn't know that Helena did that," The bushy-haired Girl said, getting more and more curious about Helena.
First, she found out that Helena was a grown Adult, second, she became a Pokemon Professor much like Irina. 'What else did Helena do in this strange World?' Hermione asked herself,
"I take it you didn't get in contact with Helena in a while, Hermione?" Irina asked, seeing the curiosity written on her Face.
The bushy-haired Girl shook her Head, answering the question. "I have no way to get in contact with her," Hermione said, looking up at the Pokemon trainers. "Helena was upset about something that happened to her that I don't feel right getting into it without her," She said, wanting to pay respects to Helena's privacy.
Both Irina and Candice nodded, understanding that whatever Helena had gotten herself into was something she could share, with no one else. "When me and another Friend of ours try to comfort her, she's already gone." Hermione finished her explanation.
"I see, and that you and your Friend you spoke who is still missing, went out of your to find her," Irina said, following Hermione's story with the Student of her Brother. She then saw the young Girl nod, confirming what she said.
"Well, I'm not sure what is going on between you and Helena back at your Home," Irina said to the Bushy-haired Girl, hearing the story behind being Hermione's appearance in the Region. "However, after hearing your story, Hermione. I believe that it's Time for you and Helena to reunite after many Years apart and talk."
The bushy-haired Girl heard what her Caretaker said about meeting a getting a chance to talk to Helena. Hermione nodded, wanting a chance to speak with her Friend. For her, it's been only a few Months, but for Helena, it must been at least Two or Three Years since she ran from Britain.
"I would like nothing more than just to talk to Helena, Professor Ceder," Hermione said, showing her resolve to speak with Helena.
Candice smiles, also seeing the resolve Hermione is showing. She organized the Registration Papers for Hermione's admission to the Snowpoint City's Trainer School. "Well, if you want to get a chance to speak with Helena, Hermione. You need a Pokemon Partner to get you where you want." The Ice-type Gym Leader said, pointing out what Hermione needed in order to meet with Helena.
"Pokemon Partner?" Hermione asked, seeing earlier that the Students of the School have One or more Pokemon with them. "But I don't have a Pokemon Partner, where can I get one?" She asked, curious where to receive a Partner.
The Snowpoint City's Gym Leader answers Hermione's question. "Usually the School will take Students to the Daycare where a variety of Pokemon are gathered for trainers to learn and be their Partners," Candice explains to Hermione where she can look for a Partner. "However…"
"However?" The bushy-haired tilts her Head, curious about what Candice is about to say.
Candice smiles, already discussed this with Irina about who could be a possible match for their new Pokemon trainer. "However, I do believe that Irina has a Pokemon in Mind that could be a good match for you, Hermione." The Ice-type Gym Leader said, shifting her attention to the dirty-blonde Professor who was smiling at the conversation.
Hermione looks at Irina, seeing her expression that she also has an idea of who might be her Partner, "Professor Ceder, do you have an idea of who might be my Pokemon Partner?"
"Yes I do, in fact, you already have met," Irina said, pointing out who might be her Partner.
Hoenn, Rustboro City
"GAH!" Aiden cheerfully screams as he sits on Metagross's Head and waves to his Mother, Father, and Relatives.
Metagross has a happy expression on his Face, trying to keep his Body balanced so the young Steel-blue haired Boy. "Meta," The Iron Legs Pokemon laughed, having fun with Aiden.
Steven stood beside his Partner in a blue button-down Shirt, black Jeans with blue Sandshoes. He chuckles, seeing his Son having the Time of his Life, "Aiden, look over here. Look over at Daddy," The young Father called over to his Son sitting on his Partner,
Aiden looks over to his Father, smiling at him as he takes his Picture with his Rotom Phone. He giggles, reaching out to him at his beck and call. "DA!"
Helena smiles, wearing a simple white shirt, over a pink sweater and jean skirt with white sneakers with pink soles. She is sitting under the Patio with Casey resting on her Lap, still wary of the Outside World.
Around her was Members of her Family working alongside with their Pokemon in preparing the Large yard for her and Steven's Wedding. Some were tasked to fix up the Battlefield for Helena and N's Gym, being supervised by N.
The white-haired and blue-Eyed Child looks around, seeing Dragonair sleeping beside his Mother. Hattrem was on the Table with an Alcremie partaking in the Sweets that were placed there by the Housekeepers of the Householders,
"Casey sure is quiet for a Baby," Roxanne commented, drinking the Tea that was also being served along with the Sweets. The Rock-type Gym Leader was there to continue to work on the Wedding Venue and offer some insights into how a Gym works.
Anthea nods, sitting beside Concordia on the other side of the Table. "From what I remember, N was quiet as well when we were Children." The pink-haired Woman commented, "It must be a Baby thing,"
Concordia giggles, placing down her Teacup. "Infants can come in a variety of Personalities." The blonde Ability User looks at her Sister and Friend. "Even Baby Pokemon act like People when they're young."
Helena smiles, agreeing with Concordia as she rubs on her Son's back who was fussing a bit. "Mmm…" Casey whimpers, clutching his Mother's Shirt.
"Hey, what's wrong Baby?" Helena spoke softly to her Son, adjusting him to better look at him.
Everyone looked at Helena tending to Casey, despite crying loudly the young Mother remained calm. Helena smiles, bouncing the white-haired Child while rubbing his back to calm him down. "There, there, Mommy got you, Casey."
Casey's cries soon ceased, hearing his Mother's Words. The young Infant found the voice of his Mother to be comforting, immediately he calmed down.
Roxanne smiles, observing her Friend being a natural Mother to her Son. "Being a Mother suits you, Ellie." The brunette Gym Leader commented, impressed by her Motherly Nature. "How do you do it?"
"I guess being a Teacher and taking care of the Pokemon here at the Lab helped me develop those Instincts." Helena smiles, seeing her youngest Son calming down. "Even with that knowledge, I'm still learning how to be a Parent. Even Steven is still learning, sometimes asking both his Parents how to do something regarding these Two." She said, admitting that she wasn't all perfect.
Concordia smiles, hearing what her Sister said. "Well, of course, raising Children isn't as easy as it sounds." The blonde Ability User commented, "From what I heard, Parents just make things up as they raise their Children."
Helena has to agree with her Sister, she may have experience with Children. Both now as a Teacher at the Trainer School, taking care of Infant Pokemon, and helping younger Years when she was at Hogwarts before coming to the Hoenn Region, however, her Sons were the First Babies that she actually raised herself with Steven.
"Like I said, both me and Steven are still learning about raising Children." The black-haired Ability User said, feeling Casey shifting his Head around the Patio. Helena noticed her Son looking around his surrounding with curiosity.
"Gardevoir," Gardevoir approaches her Partner, noticing Helena's Son being curious.
Helena and the rest of the Ladies laughed at Casey looking around the Area. "Hey now, you were just crying a while ago." Roxanne looks at the white-haired Boy, curious about everything around them. "What's with you, Cutiepie?" She asked, can't have enough of her Friend's Son.
The black-haired Woman smiles, gently rubbing her Son's back as he clutches her Shirt. "Casey is different from his Brother, he's quiet and curious at the same Time," Helena explains to her Friend about her Youngest Son. "This Time I guess he wants attention from me."
"I see, well you're doing a good job as a Mother, Sister," Anthea said to her Sister, admiring her hard Work as both the Matriarch of the Potters, a Professor, and now a Mother.
"Thank you, Anthea," Helena said before seeing N walking over to the Patio with his Zoroark by his side. The black-haired Woman smiles at her Brother, "Hello N, is there something you and the others need?" She asked her Older Brother.
N looks up at his Sister, replying to her question. "No, I'm here to inform you Sister that we've finished with the Second Battlefield and we've placed some décor meant for the Gym to the side." The green-haired young Gym Leader informed his Sister. He then turns to the Rock-type Gym Leader, needing her insights. "Roxanne, the others are asking what to do regarding the decorations. Considering many were Pink and White Flowers and-"
Roxanne stood up from her Seat, hearing what her Friend said. "You're kidding me! Those were meant for the Wedding!" The brunette Woman exclaims, clearly frustrated by what N brought. "They weren't supposed to arrive before Ellie leaves for Unova! They were supposed to be when she's coming back!"
Roxanne turns to her Friend, feeling terrible for what has occurred. "So sorry for this, Helena. Those Flowers were meant for the Patio, and they were only fresh for a Week." The brunette Woman apologized to her,
Helena sighed, looking up at her Friend. "Well…I know we have a budget, but is it possible to reorder or something about the Flowers?" The black-haired Woman asked her Friend,
Both Anthea and Concordia look at Roxanne, waiting for her Opinion regarding the Flowers. A few moments later, Steven approached the Patio with Aiden in his Arms. "I'll handle the Finances of the Wedding, don't worry too much about the cost Helena," Steven said, knowing he had the Money to pay the expenses.
Aiden giggles, seeing his Mother sitting before him on the Patio with his Brother. "MA!" Helena waves back, hearing her Eldest calling for her before addressing Steven's statement.
"Are you sure, Steven?" Helena asked, looking at her Fiancé. "It's something I can handle on my own," She said, knowing that her Family has the Money. Though thinking about the Price of the new Flowers made her cringe.
The Hoenn Champion shook his Head, understanding the stress of Wedding Planning. Steven wants to help however he can and lessen the load from Helena, "I'm sure, besides, this is our Wedding, I have to contribute to it somehow." He said, explaining his reason.
Helena looks at her siblings and then at Roxanne to get their opinion on Steven's proposal to let him pay for the replacement Flowers. They all shrug, leaving the decision to her because it's their Wedding,
The young Woman shifted her Head to her Future Husband, who had already made a decision. "Alright, as long as it's not trouble for you, Steven," Helena said, giving in to Steven's Words.
Steven adjusted his Son in his Arms who was fidgeting with excitement. "Don't worry, Helena I have everything handled," The Hoenn Champion said, ensuring his Future Wife. "You have a lot on your plate, and you're going to leave soon. It's the least I can do to lessen your load."
Roxanne chuckles, seeing after all these Years Steven still has a Chivalrous demeanor. "I see that being a Father hasn't changed your Chivalrous Personality." The Rock-type Gym Leader on his Friend's sense of helping others.
Steven looks up at the brunette Gym Leader, smiling at her. "I'll take that as a compliment, Roxanne." He laughs,
Helena smiles, finding their conversation to be tranquil. She then turns her Head to the crates filled with Flowers. "Now what should we do with the Flowers that are already here?" She asked,
"It would be a waste to leave them in the crates," Anthea commented, her Eyes were also fixated on the crates. "They would die if they left in their too long, despite lasting for a period of Time." She added,
N suddenly had an idea, looking at both Battlefields. He has been working on setting up both Battlefields, both he and Helena have chosen the Pokemon Types they want to use for their Gyms.
The Siblings have chosen Types that complement each other; N has chosen the Dark-type. His reasoning for choosing it was that it represented his Life as Team Plasma's King, how it was dark only for Helena to come and show him a better way of living.
Helena has chosen the Fairy-type, for one she feels an affinity with them and the other reason is that like Fairies in her old Home, they can be kind and yet dangerous at the same Time. A trait common for Fairy-type Pokemon, and the Pokemon trainers who specialized in training Fairy-types.
Helena looks at the green-haired Man, hearing him making a humming noise. "N, what is it? You make that sound whenever you have an idea for a moment there." The black-haired Woman said,
"I was just thinking if we could use these Flowers here to decorate your Battlefield, Helena," N explains to his Sister about what they should do with the Flowers they have. "Why not use them to decorate your side of the Gym? Flowers do fit the theme with Fairy-types." The green-haired explains to the group of his idea.
Concordia turns to Helena, hearing what her Brother's idea is, "Fairy-types are well-known to gather around Flowerbeds." The blonde Ability User said, thinking it's a good idea. "Your Pokemon will feel at ease with those Flowers around.
Helena ponders, thinking that was also a good idea as well. "That does sound like a good idea." She turns to her Partner, asking her opinion. "What do you think, Gardevoir? Do you think this is a good idea?" She asked Gardevoir.
The Embrace Pokemon nodded, also agreeing with the former King of Team Plasma's idea for the Flowers. "Gardevoir," Gardevoir smiles, speaking for the rest of
"N, can you let the Family know we're going to use the Flowers for my side of our Gym," Helena informed her Brother what to do regarding the crate of Flowers they had.
The green-haired Gym Leader nodded, obliging to his Sister's request. "I'll relay the request to the Family who's working in the Gym," N said, smiling that they're going to use the idea he suggested to them.
Steven turns to his Fiancé after checking the Time on his Rotom Phone, being reminded of the Time. "Ellie, we have Lunch with my Parents soon. We better start making our way there before the reservation at the Restaurant is taken,"
Helena nodded, standing up with Casey in her Arms. "We better leave, I hate to leave you all when we're working on setting up the Gyms." She apologizes to her Siblings and her Friend.
"No, it's fine we can handle things while you meet with Steven's Parents," Roxanne said, taking care of things here with the rest of the Potter Family.
Helena nodded, appreciating her Friend and Siblings for working on her Gym. "Thank you, Roxanne, everyone." She said, knowing that she couldn't exactly do anything except give her opinion on things,
Regardless of her busy schedule and raising her Sons, she does her best to manage things.
Walking up the path from the Potter Laboratory, Steven was pushing the Stroller with Casey and Aiden inside sleeping while their Father pushed their Stroller.
The young Family was enjoying the nice stroll on the Path, Helena held onto her Fiancé's Arm as he relished the moment. "What a peaceful Day, isn't it Steven?" Helena asked the Steel-blue haired Man.
"You can say that again, Ellie." Steven smiled, seeing a Flock of Tallows flying over them. He then turns to the black-haired Woman, "Do you have everything for your trip to Blueberry Academy?" The Hoenn Champion asked Helena.
"Yes, I have my Lesson Plans all set up, packed my Clothes in my Luggage, and my Pokemon already chosen," Helena said, already prepared for this Trip ever since she received the News that she'd be representing Rustboro Trainer School during the School Exchange Program.
Helena then asks Steven a question in return, wanting to make sure he is going to be okay with him raising the Boys on his own. "Are you sure you can handle the Twins when I'm gone? We can always ask your Mother or Father to lend some assistance."
Steven shook his Head wanting to do this. "Don't worry, I know you can worry sometimes. But I can handle caring for the Boys," He said, truly wanting to help out.
"Alright then," Helena said as her Family went inside Rustboro City to meet with her In-Laws.
