"hey do you have any like, dresses that could fit me?" Valentina nervously asked Moana.
"huh? oh yeah! of course. wait" Moana replied before scanning her up and down, increasing her nervousness.
"why did Isa call you her girlfriend when you're a guy?" Moana asked.
"because I'm not a guy. or at least, I don't feel like one. I've always felt more like a girl than a guy and those feelings increased when I became a teenager. now that I'm out of the encanto, I just want to be myself. a girl" Valentina replied.
"I'm assuming your name wasn't always Valentina then?" Moana queried.
"no. it was originally Carlos. but I think my current name suits me better" Valentina responded with a smile.
"well then, follow me" Moana said, gesturing for Val to follow her as she began heading upstairs.
"wow! this is amazing!" Valentina commented as she spun in her new dress. her dark green eyes shimmered with joy while her dark brown hair was loose, just long enough to brush against her shoulders. she was wearing a desaturated green buttoned up shirt dress, black shorts, black boots and a dark green ribbon keeping her hair out of her face.
"I was kinda nervous about how'd it fit on you. you're quite...muscular. but I was right to give you clothes slightly bigger than I expected you would need. it fits almost perfectly!" Moana replied with a gesture of her hands, accidentally covering her hands in frost.
"aw man, again?" she mumbled, scrunching her hands into fists to shatter the icy layer.
"how often does that happen? why does that happen?" Val asked.
"at least once a day. all powers are tied to emotion. like how Burn's 'heat aura' gets hotter when shes angry" Moana explained.
"Isa's tia Pepa's gift is weather controlling emotions, is it like that but less extreme?" Val questioned.
"hmmm. that's not a power. she must just not have any clue how to control her power, causing her emotions to be in full control" Moana replied.
"its rare, but it does happen. if she figures out how to use her power, it'll stop raining every time she's upset. athair told me about it" Moana continued.
"yeah. what does 'athair' mean exactly?" the young woman asked.
"it means dad in irish gaelic. Burn was the first one to start calling Bruno that" the water elemental explained with a shrug.
"so he's your papa?" Val asked, running her hand through her hair.
"yeah. he's me, Burn, Topaz and Lanturns dad. we're all adopted obviously" Moana explained, wringing her hair in an attempt to remove the water in it.
"neat. wanna join the others now?" Val asked, to which Moana nodded.
