hi there this is my first fan fic i hope its not to imposing a task for me. I always felt that while Liesel grew and had a good arc in the movies i felt like she was owed more so i wanted to write this to focus on her some scenes will be from the movie others will be new ones i hope dear reader with this story i can instill the love i have for Liesel in you and make you root for her story. This story will focus on her alone and see through her eyes all the ups and downs life has to offer.

Austria 1938 summer

Liesl felt alone and betrayed there was her former lover pointing a gun at her "really Rolfe you're going to shoot me it's me it's your liesel" and with that she could hear the gunshot and she could feel the searing hot pain in her side as she collapsed to the ground clutching at her side seeing ruby red blood and looking up at her attacker and all she could do was scream Liesel Von Trapp woke up in a terrible sweat what a horrible dream that was she knew now that she couldn't get any sleep so she walked over to the window and simply stared she wondered what that dream meant and why she had it did it mean something about her romance with rolfe or maybe it was just something she ate anyway today is another day and she would have to focus not on the dream but on what today had planned for her Liesel was watching the window outside of her bedroom. She had just woken up and was tired. She watched her other siblings fast asleep, Friedrich snoring and Louisa tossing and turning. She got to thinking what will today bring us i wonder? She was a beautiful young lady with long brown hair and piercing blue eyes. She was also tall, standing at an impressive 6 feet. She yawned covering her mouth to not wake her younger siblings and got dressed today would be another hard grueling day she was sure of it.

en she heard the sound of her signal coming from her fathers whistle. She marched down the stairs to greet her father. He was standing at the bottom of the stairs looking as cold as ever his face gave nothing away except for the stern look he wore

"Good morning Father" Said Liesel suppressing a yawn
"Liesel" said her father " I have some news that i want you to spread to your siblings in two days time that a governess will arrive from the Abbey to watch you children," he responded coldly

"Yes Father," said Liesel "Father? I was wondering if instead of doing my morning walk with my siblings I could walk by myself?" she asked meekly
The Captain's lips pursed "Whatever for. you know these walks are meant to instill discipline"

"Oh no, just some private time to think" she lied what she had hoped for was to see Rolfe near the Gazebo
"Liesel as you are the oldest i expect you to lead by example you must instill some order in your siblings so they are ready to greet Fraulein Maria"

" But father-" Liesel protested

" No Buts young lady as long as you live under my roof you shall follow my rules" he said sternly

"Yes father…" she said looking dejected

" Now get your siblings up for morning inspection there is much to do today i expect this house to be in tip top shape in time for the new governess"

"Of course father right away" she said meekly

"Be ready within a half an hour" he said turning away

esel blinked back a few tears that formed in her eyes. She wished her father was not so cold all the time. However, ever since her mother passed away, all the joy had left his heart. Truth be told it left her too. She was 11 and the entire world ended that day for her. She lost her mom to a fever and after that, nothing was the same. Sometimes in the wee hours of the night she could hear her father weeping mourning his lost love. So she would have to be more than a big sister to her younger siblings and she would have to fill that role her mother had. She knew it to be unfair but when is life ever fair life is cruel. She stood in the middle of the floor trying not to cry as she blinked away the last of her tears she headed up the stairs to her room to wake up the first of her siblings

"Louisa, Friedrich Time to get up father's orders" she said sternly

"Five more minutes" groaned Louisa

" yes five more minutes" echoed Fredrich

" No five minutes time to get up you layabouts" with that she walked briskly over to their beds and yanked off the covers " Now get dressed and get ready we are to meet father in half an hour"

"All right were up were up" said Louisa yawning

"Good you've got five minutes to get ready" Liesel replied, "I'm preparing to wake the rest.". As she walked down the hall, she passed a portrait of her late mother. Her father had taken every painting of her. She saw the happiness of the painting and all the joy that flowed into that day suddenly as if by magic she was there in that drawing room, her mother sitting down with her on her mothers lap.

"Sit still my darling it will be over soon" said her mother sweetly

"But mother i want to play" said Liesel meekly

" hush my pet" her mother said warmly

They sat in silence as the artist painted them Liesel noted his funny mustache and his funny hat she had only seen hats like that in her mothers magazine about the latest French fashions as he finished he said
" All done mademoiselle"

" Wonderful Jacque see Liesel that was not so difficult was it" she said with a smile

" may i say this is my greatest work yet you both look lovely"

"Thank you my friend" her mother replied, "Thank you, Liesel."

" Thank you," she said sweetly

" You are more than welcome little one" he smiled

" Mother let us play" she giggled

"Come my dear" she heard her mother say as Liesel ran out of the room and suddenly there was Liesel standing staring at the picture her eyes welled with tears and she wept, wept for her mother her father for her siblings. Especially little Marta and Gretel who would have only fleeting memories of their mother she said to the painting
"What am i to do mother i miss you i need your help more than ever" she said with tears in her eyes "i just feel like i'm spinning in circles and father is so sad he doesn't show it but he is, just anything give me a sign that your still here" nothing changed except the silence grew deafening Liesel wiped her eyes they were red from the crying, she stiffened up and marched to her sisters room where the rest of her family slept.

"All right everyone out of bed" she said coldly "Time to get up we are to meet father downstairs in a half and hour"

"Do we need to do it too?" Birgitta asked.

"That's an order" Liesel said sternly "Come on come on everyone up" her siblings groaned and moaned and within ten minutes all her siblings were dressed in their uniforms ready to meet whatever the day had to bring just then Liesel felt a tug on her skirt, It was little Gretel looking sad

"Liesel, can you hold my hand?"

Liesel knelt down to speak with the youngest member of the Von Trapp clan "Now you know what father says about that says its unlady like" she said tenderly "But don't worry i promise i will always be there for you"

Gretel looked sad "Why is father so mean?"

Liesel paused as if lost in thought and then said "I know Gretel he doesn't mean it he's just very lonely he misses mother very much"
Gretel said "Father shouldn't be lonely he has us"

"I know Gretel its just hes not the same without mother so please try to understand now can you put on a brave face for me" she said smiling. Gretel gave a weak smile "Don't worry Gretel it will all be alright"

"When?"

"Soon hopefully it will be soon" Liesel lied she hated to get her younger sisters hope up but she had to ensure she would stay that happy child she loved all her siblings dearly even Fredrich and Kurt when it was very challenging to do so especially after they put that snake in her bed. She had gotten them back by putting glue in their shoes and had the devil of a time taking them off, if there was one thing she was adept at it was tricking her brothers back. She straightened up and said "Now everyone now that i have your undivided attention i have some most unfortunate news in two days time that a Governess will come to join us" They all groaned.

"How long will she last this time" said Kurt

My guess is two hours especially if we put a snake in her bed" replied Birgitta.

" Well see i hope shes not as bad as Frau Helga" Kurt said.

" If anything i doubt she'll be with us for long" said Liesel " Now Attention" They all stood straight ten minutes later they heard their fathers whistle from down the stairs Liesel was the first one out leading her siblings they marched in a straight line down the steps with their father looking stern as ever he began to speak
"Now children i trust Liesel has informed you of the newly appointed governess coming from the abbey"iesl felt alone and betrayed there was her former lover pointing a gun at her "really Rolfe you're going to shoot me it's me it's your liesel" and with that she could hear the gunshot and she could feel the searing hot pain in her side as she collapsed to the ground clutching at her side seeing ruby red blood and looking up at her attacker and all she could do was scream Liesel Von Trapp woke up in a terrible sweat what a horrible dream that was she knew now that she couldn't get any sleep so she walked over to the window and simply stared she wondered what that dream meant and why she had it did it mean something about her romance with rolfe or maybe it was just something she ate anyway today is another day and she would have to focus not on the dream but on what today had planned for her Liesel was watching the window outside of her bedroom. They all replied "Yes father"

"Good now there is to be moneof your childish pranks or silly games while she is here with us is that understood?"
"Yes father"

"She will be living with us until September i trust you will afford her all the respect she deserves, Liesel you will take your brothers and sisters out for their morning walk at once"
Liesel said " Yes Father"

The Captain then said " All right dismissed and dinner's at 6 o'clock sharp" he then walked out of the room as they made their way up the stairs and out onto the grounds Liesel said she would be but a moment. They all exited the house except for her. She just stood there deep in thought as she looked around the mansion. She always thought it was so big growing up but now it was cold and lonely and so very small she couldn't stand it. The way her father treated her siblings she would rather face her father alone than to have her siblings suffer his coldness any more. She looked around the foyer and her eyes were drawn to the room the door had been left slightly ajar as she went to close it she hesitated. She found herself drawn to it as a moth is drawn to a flame. She gingerly opened it and saw the ball room dusty and left untouched. It was her mothers favorite room, she had learned to dance in that room when it was a happier time again she was whisked away to a distant memory.
"Ow Liesel your stepping on my toes" said her father laughing
" sorry father i was distracted"

They all replied "Yes father"

"Ow Liesel your stepping on my toes" said her father laughing

My apologies, father, I was distracted."

Oh, by what exactly did her father say?

The boy over there is staring at me," she said looking at the boy of at least 12 looking sheepish.

Smirking, he asked, "Perhaps he wants to dance with you?"

"Maybe I will ask him," she said, letting go of her father's hand and marching up to him.
I'm Liesel, I'm 11 years old, and I'd like to ask you for this dance."

He sheepishly said, "Hello, I'm Rolfe and I would love to dance with you. You're the prettiest girl I've ever seen."

"Pleasure to meet you Rolfe now lets dance" they danced and danced as Liesel's parents looked on
"Look at her she's growing up so fast Georg" said Agathe

" I know too fast if you ask me" he said
"The night is young let her have her moment in the sun" she said " now my lord would you do me the honor of this dance"

"My lady it would be my honor" They danced and danced and danced as liesel was once again in the real world once more she was crying again not long after that wonderful day her mother died and she was all alone her best friend had left her. She wiped them away and closed the door and walked up the stairs out to the front of the house while her siblings patiently waited. She was sure of one thing though she would face all the challenges of this world meet them head on and weather every storm even if her heart was breaking. Whatever the storm she would face them wholeheartedly. It was the least she could do if not for her then for her siblings and now a new adventure was on the horizon. She took a deep breath, steeled her resolve and opened the door. Taking the first step out into the unknown, she knew that she was ready to face whatever was coming her way. She was scared, yet determined. With every step, she was building strength and courage, and with every breath, she was preparing for what was to come. She was ready to take on the world.

Hope you guys like i have so many ideas where to take this story will most likely update with a second chapter today
