I stared at the open door as Elena stood there, while Stefan also stood there holding a stake. I was going to take a guess and say that this was the episode where Elena found out that Stefan was a vampire. Part of me couldn't help but wonder if she thought that I was a vampire as well, even though that wouldn't make sense since we were supposed to have grown up together.
"What are you?" She asked. "What are you?"
"You wouldn't be here if you didn't know." I declared. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to speak or not, but I did. I couldn't help but wonder how this scene was supposed to originally go. I didn't really want to be the awkward third wheel.
"What are you?" Elena repeated.
"I'm a vampire, but Faith isn't." Stefan responded. I was glad that we were getting that out of the way so there wouldn't be any sort of misconceptions. I hoped that she would believe that I wasn't a vampire.
"I shouldn't have come." Elena replied as she ran out to her car. I had a feeling that she wouldn't just be able to leave."
Stefan rushed outside and I couldn't help but feel a little out of place. I had to slowly run over there because I did not possess superspeed like Stefan did. I did notice that he managed to get to her car before she could open the door. She looked surprised by that despite him having just told her that he was a vampire.
"How did you do that?" She asked.
"You have to know that there are some things that you can't tell people." He explained. What the fuck was that supposed to mean? Why was he speaking in riddles instead of just trying to get to the point?
"Let me go!" She demanded before she broke free and got in the car before going back to her house.
"We need to follow her." He stated. I was about to get my car keys when he suddenly grabbed onto me and started to run. I held onto him tightly because I did not want to fall off and end up who knows where. Plus, there was also a strong chance for injury.
"We didn't need to do that." I remarked after we got to her house.
"We needed to get here first." He replied. At that point he needed her window was open.
"Come on."
He then grabbed onto me and jumped in the window. I ended up falling on the floor, but I didn't think that I was hurt at least.
"Stefan, please warn me before you do that." I instructed. A few minutes later, Elena came into her room and closed the door.
"Elena." Stefan remarked as she nearly fell over in surprise. I was still a little bit dizzy. She also still looked absolutely terrified. "You don't need to be afraid of me."
I was going to say that the fact that just illegally entered her house would lead to some reason to be afraid.
"But you killed all of those people." Elena stated. She shouldn't have made that assumption. Damon was probably even more obvious as a vampire since she knew that he had bitten Caroline.
"No that was Damon." Stefan explained. "I don't drink human blood. That's not how I choose to survive."
"So where does Faith fit into all of this?" She asked. She sounded like she was trying to remain calm, even though she didn't seem very convincing.
"Faith is my descendant." He answered. He was my…very great uncle. "You have to understand that no matter what, you can't tell anyone any of this."
"How can you ask me that?" Elena asked in fear.
"Because knowing this is dangerous!" Stefan responded. I didn't know if it was a good idea for him to yell there because it only seemed to scare her more. "You have to trust me."
"Just go." Elena ordered. "If you mean me no harm then you will leave us alone and go."
"I'm sorry, Elena." He stated before he went out the window. I went downstairs before my phone rang. It was an unknown number, but I answered it anyone because telemarketers don't exist in television. If I had to guess, I would say it was Damon.
"Hello?" I answered nervously.
"Where's my ring?" Damon demanded.
"I don't have it." I replied. "Where are you?"
"I'm at the sizzler. I just had the buffet." He explained. I had a feeling that he had killed more people. The only problem was that I had no idea where he was.
"What have you done?" I asked.
"No, what have you have?" He challenged. "You and Stefan are the ones who starved me, so what I do and whoever I kill is on you. I hope that you don't have guilt issues."
"No one is going to believe another animal attack." I pointed out. I was pretty sure that people wouldn't be that naïve.
"I know how to cover my tracks." He argued. It sounded like he was dragging a body. "Now where is my ring?"
"I gave it to my dad to hide." I lied. I didn't know if he would believe it. "You probably shouldn't have killed him."
"Where is it?" He repeated. Yeah, he didn't seem to believe me.
"I can get it." I responded.
"What did you FedEx it to Rome? Get me my ring or I'm coming after you." He explained. I was not going to be deterred by his threats.
"You know Stefan already wants to kill you. It wouldn't be wise to egg him on." I declared.
"I'm not afraid of him. I can take him easily and I can definitely take you." He argued.
"Then how will you get your ring back?" I questioned. I wasn't going to mention that theoretically he could lock me up until the vervain leaves me and then compel it out of me.
"Just get it." He demanded before hanging up.
I sent Stefan a text saying what happened and he responded by telling me to stay there, so I went back up to Elena's room and knocked on the door.
"I told you to leave." She responded.
"I'm sorry for not telling you about this stuff, but it was kind of a family secret." I apologized. "Anyway, that's not why I'm here. I'm here because Damon killed my dad and I'm afraid to sleep at home because I think that he might come after me. Can I please spend the night?"
"You can sleep on the couch." She told me. It was a good thing that I was small enough to fit on the couch.
In the morning, I got up and went upstairs. I was a little bit tired because of the nightmares. I hoped that Elena wouldn't mind me using her shower. I knew that I couldn't borrow any of her clothes because I was pretty sure they would be too big for me, so I would have to wear my same clothes.
After I got done with the shower, I put on the same beige tee and jeans that I had been wearing.
"Can you call Stefan and ask him to meet us at the Grill?" Elena asked. I did so and then went to get my jacket out of the closet. I then got into her car, and we drove there together.
We went to the Grill and got a table outside. I was pretty sure that there were some things that I needed to learn from Stefan as well. I couldn't help but wonder if Elena wondered why I wasn't freaking out as much as her. She probably thought that I knew more than I did.
"So, when it comes to vampires, there are some many different versions that you don't know what's true." She stated. I couldn't help but wonder where she was going with that. "So, what is true?"
"We'll tell you anything you want to know." Stefan promised. What did he expect me to say?
"Okay, what about crucifixes, holy water and mirrors?" Elena asked. I didn't think those caused any issues for Stefan or Damon.
"Two pieces of wood, warm and reflective." Stefan replied.
"Well, how about the fact that you're seemingly unaffected by sunlight?" I questioned. I supposed that seemed to be the big thing, but I did at least know about that, even though I didn't know how they had gotten them.
"Our rings protect us." Stefan answered.
"You said that you don't drink human blood." Elena reiterated.
"Stefan only drinks animal blood." I declared. According to Zach, he had had human blood in the past though. I didn't know if Elena needed to know about that right now.
"It keeps me fed, but not as strong as Damon." He added. Would drinking human blood make him as strong as Damon? And why didn't he drink human blood?
"How could you let him get involved with Caroline?" I asked. I least needed to act like I was angry about it.
"Did you miss the not as strong part?" I snapped. I didn't know why it came out like that. Maybe I wasn't really over my father's death, despite the fact that he wasn't really my father. He was still the only father that I had ever known.
"He was hurting her." Elena pointed out. She seemed to not fully understand what was going on.
"No, he was feeding on her and erasing her memories through a form of mind control." Stefan argued. Honestly, that was probably worse. "If he wanted to kill her, he would've."
"That doesn't make it okay." She stated. We didn't say it was okay.
"We know it's not okay. We all want him dead, but we can't find him right now." I replied.
"Just give us today and we'll explain everything." Stefan bargained. I assumed he would be doing most of the explaining. "If you want to tell after that, you can."
He wasn't really going to let her tell anyone, was he? I had a feeling that would cause problems for us. I didn't think that people were supposed to know that he and Damon were vampires, and I didn't think they should know that I was related to vampires either.
We ended up driving to the old Salvatore property. I was kind of glad that Elena drove an SUV because it had plenty of room for all of us. I didn't know what would happen after we were done. This was probably somewhere where it would have been good to be a fan of the show because I would know about these important plot points before they happened, but I was just living them out in real time like everyone I supposed.
"Stop here." Stefan instructed as the vehicle came to a halt.
"Why are we in the middle of nowhere?" Elena asked as we all stepped out. I knew what it was at least. It was where the old Salvatore house was. I at least knew some of my new family history.
"This didn't use to be nowhere." Stefan declared as he began to savor the sights. I walked around a little because it was still really weird. I assumed that he was going to tell us about how he had become a vampire at least. I knew that Katherine had done it, but I didn't know how or when. "It used to be my home. 50 years before the boarding house was even built, we lived here."
"How old are you?" Elena asked.
"I've been 17 since 1864." Stefan answered.
"Wow, you're so…old." Elena replied. I wondered if she knew had tried to do the math. I had already figured out that he was 161. I also knew that his birthday was coming up…but I had no idea what to get him.
Stefan then told us about how he used to be good friends with Damon and how he first met Katherine. I was pretty sure that most of their problems were because of her.
"You knew Katherine in 1864?" She asked in surprise. "Damon made it sound so recent."
"Damon wanted you to think that he wasn't over her." I commented. I couldn't help but wonder if he wanted to sabotage Stefan's relationship because he was mad at him.
He then told us about the part about how he and Damon both tried to ask Katherine to the Founder's Ball. I know that I've never actually seen her, but she seemed pretty unlikable. Stefan made it sound like she liked to play with their emotions. There was a word that people used for that, but I already had caused enough problems by saying things like that.
"She chose me." He added.
"So, Damon stole her from you then?" Elena replied.
"She wasn't anyone's to steal." I remarked. I then couldn't help what I said because I was probably still upset over what happened. "She was a vampire bitch that manipulated both of them into doing whatever she wanted with mind control and sexual prowess before turning both of them. I hope that she's burning in hell."
That was still pretty harsh for me to say about someone that I had never met personally. I was pretty sure that I wouldn't ever get to meet her personally. Also, I couldn't help but notice that Stefan was leaving out one important detail about Katherine and I hoped that wouldn't come back to bite him. Stefan then picked something up on the ground.
"Is that Damon's ring?" Elena asked.
"Yeah. I took it from him, but I have to give it back now." Stefan explained.
"No, you don't." Elena argued.
"Elena, if I don't give it back, Damon vowed to hurt me in a way I'm not willing to let happen." Stefan replied.
"And what's that?" She asked.
"By hurting you or Faith." He replied.
As we prepared to go back into town, Stefan opened Elena's door for her. However, before she got in, she stopped.
"I just realized that I can't go further until I know if you ever did that mind control to thing to me or either of us really." She stated. Stefan frowned.
"That necklace that you're wearing contains an herb called vervain." I declared. "My dad was growing it at the house. I don't really know how to take care of plants, but I'd like to keep doing it."
"I'll help you." Stefan told me.
From there, we began to head back to Elena's house. I supposed that she wasn't going to drop us off at first. I wasn't sure why we were going to her house. Maybe it was because it was a safe place. I had a feeling that things weren't over yet and something dramatic was still going to happen.
When we got there, we noticed that Matt's truck was there. I only knew because I had seen him in it before. I couldn't help but wonder why he was there. We went inside the house and saw he was there with Jeremy and Vicki. Something seemed like it was wrong here.
"What's going on here?" Elena asked as she looked at the kitchen that was in disarray. Yes, something for wrong. I also couldn't help but feel a little bit hungry, but I didn't know how long that food had been sitting out.
"She's really messed up." Matt explained. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of drugs she was on now. She probably needed to be in rehab, but I didn't think that would happen on this kind of show.
"Everything back up and let me get a look at her." Stefan instructed. It seemed like he knew something about her that we didn't, and I was pretty sure that it wasn't going to be good news. Maybe she was acting so weird because Damon had compelled her. "Get her upstairs and let her sleep. Make sure that the windows aren't open. She is going to be fine."
They took her upstairs and Elena looked at Stefan. He looked really worried, and I couldn't help but think that it was worse than her being compelled.
"Do you know what's wrong with her?" She asked. I had a feeling like I wasn't going to like that answer.
"She's in transition." He answered. I didn't know what that meant, but it definitely didn't sound good with how he had said it.
"What does that mean?" I questioned, trying not to sound nervous.
"It means that she's going to become a vampire." He replied. Okay, I definitely didn't like that.
"How does she become a vampire?" Elena responded in fear.
"She has to feed on human blood." I explained. It was really more of a guess but that was how people tended to become vampires.
"What happens if she doesn't?" Elena followed up.
"She'll die." Stefan completed. That also seemed like it would be unfavorable. I had a feeling that she was probably going to become a vampire and that would probably cause even more problems. "She may only have a few hours left. She's going to have to choose whether or not she wants it."
I honestly couldn't believe that someone would choose death over becoming a vampire. I knew that being a vampire wasn't the best life, but still having one was better than being dead. I didn't know even Vicki that well, but it seemed like she would probably choose that.
"Was that the same choice that you made?" Elena asked. I glared at her. She didn't know how he had become a vampire…I didn't either, but it also didn't seem right to judge for something that neither of us really knew about. Hopefully, he wouldn't be offended by it,
Suddenly, Vicki came running down the stairs and out the door. We all went outside and noticed that she was long gone. Well, that was definitely going to be a distraction.
"She was fine before she suddenly freaked out and took off." Jeremy explained.
"I'm going to go look for her." Matt told us as he headed toward his truck. "Let me know if you hear anything about her."
"I can track her." Stefan told me.
"Go then." Elena instructed before he darted off. That kind of left me awkwardly with Elena and Jeremy. I didn't think that Elena would want me to take her car home.
I began to help clean up the kitchen. I knew that we should probably figure out something to do for dinner. I didn't know how to feel about it. Even though I was pretty sure that she was going to become a vampire, I didn't know what she was going to do next. I started to look for something to make because I didn't know if Elena knew how or felt like cooking at the moment.
"Matt said that he'll call." Elena told Jeremy.
"I don't know what's wrong with her." Jeremy explained. "I have no idea what she's on."
"Maybe she's not on anything." I suggested. "Maybe all of the drug use has just made her go crazy. I know that it can happen to people."
"You're not helping." Elena told me. I didn't even know if I should talk about my father's death around Jeremy because I wasn't sure how much she wanted him to know, and I didn't know how to explain it without mentioning that Damon had killed him. I was also pretty sure that Damon didn't drink his blood because he figured that there was vervain in it just like there had been with mine.
I tried to think of what I was supposed to do. A lot of this was pretty scary to me. I felt a lot less safe now that Zach was dead. I didn't think Damon actually would kill me, but I at least knew that he was capable of doing such a thing. The doorbell then rang, and Elena answered it. It was Damon. She tried to close it, but he stopped it with his foot.
"You're afraid of me." He noted. "I take that Stefan and Faith finally spilled the beans."
I tried my best to hide my fear. He was still scary even if he wasn't going to kill me.
"Jeremy, go upstairs." Elena instructed. Thankfully, her brother didn't question it and complied.
"Can I come in? Oh wait. Of course I can. I've been invited." He declared before she stepped inside.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"I'm not gonna kill you now if that's what you're worried about." He stated. "It wouldn't further my greater agenda. I just want to know where my brother is."
"He's out looking for Vicki." I told him with a stern glare.
"Don't look at me with those judgy little eyes. Girl is gonna thank me." He responded as he looked around.
"Did you thank Katherine?" I questioned.
"How much of the story did Stefan tell you?" He inquired. I wondered if he also thought that I knew more than I did.
"He told me enough." Elena replied.
"Oh, I doubt that." He rebutted. "Tell Stefan that I'm looking for him. Oh, and by the way, you might want to be more careful about who you invite in."
I decided that the best thing that I could do was order a pizza. I didn't know how long the two of them were going to be out. I was hungry and I hoped that having some food would help me with my nerves. I wanted to sing something, but I didn't really know what my voice sounded like as a girl. I also didn't know what I could even sing right now or what anyone would say to me. I then thought screw it and did it anyway.
I make the most of all this stress, I try to live without regrets
But I'm about to break a sweat I'm freaking out
It's like a poison in my brain, It's like a fog that blurs the sane
It's like a vine you can't untangle I'm freaking out
Every time I turn around
Something don't feel right
Just might be paranoid
I'm avoiding the lines 'cause they just might split
Can someone stop the noise?
I don't know what it is, but I just don't fit
I'm paranoid
Stefan came over to my house a little bit later. From the look on his face, it didn't look like it was good news.
"You're bleeding." Elena noted. It looked like dried blood to me.
"It's okay. It's healed." He explained.
"So, what happened?" I asked.
"I couldn't stop her. She fed and she's turned." He told me.
Elena did not look very happy about it. What outcome was she hoping for? Vicky dying? I supposed neither was favorable, but it would probably be better for Jeremy and Matt if she was still alive.
"So, what happens now?" Elena asks.
"We'll find her and catch her and come up with a story why she can't see anyone." He explained.
"You mean we'll come up with a lie." Elena remarked. "Stefan, I gave you today. I won't tell your secret, but I can't be with you. I'm sorry."
From there, Stefan took me home. He said that he needed to go find Vicki, but it would probably be better if I wasn't there for that. He was going to try to convince Damon to help him. He also told me what happened with Vicki. He had found her before Logan Fell came and shot him with a wooden bullet. I didn't know what reason a news reporter had for some hunting vampires or how he even knew Stefan was one. Anyway, before Logan could kill him, Damon killed Logan first and then Stefan gave him ring back. While Damon was taking the bullet out, Vicki fed from Logan's corpse, completing her transition.
From there, Stefan went off into the night to find her.
So Vicky still got turned into a vampire and Faith finally got to sing something. The song is "Paranoid" by The Jonas Brothers. Please don't forget to review.
