We open on the twins playing a fighting game at the local diner as they both smirked and gave their best moves with Roxie choosing a boar character and Rex choosing a tiger character.

"Oh, you think you're bad, sis?" Rex asked as he countered his sister's drop punch. "Try this on for size!"

Rex unleashed a massive volley of punches and kicks that sent Roxie stumbling back before he finished with a flaming drop kick to her character's head, depleting her health bar and winning the match as well as getting the high score.

"Yes! Numero Uno, baby!" Rex shouted as Roxie rolled her eyes.

"Show off," Roxie said as she backed up from the game. "But yeah, this is pretty sweet. No EVOs to fight right now, no Six constantly looking over our shoulder and no way this day could possibly get-"

A hot girl gave sultry look before passing Rex her hamburger.

"-better?"

Roxie shook her head with a chuckle as they walked out with burgers in hand.

"Oh man. Bobo would be so jealous if he knew we slipped out for this," Rex said. "Good thing our nanites can't talk."

"True that, bro," Roxie said as they passed an alley, not noticing a mummy-like figure looking over them.

Just as they were about to take a bite, they each gained a suspicious look and turned their heads to see said figure standing in the alley before vanishing behind a passing school bus.

"But if they could talk, they'd be telling me that that's not good."

The twins dropped their food and took off into the alley to investigate as Roxie summoned her battleaxe.

"Hello?"

The twins suddenly felt something rush past them and they turned their heads in shock.

"Hey, get back here!"

As Rex saw the mummy-like figure climbing a building's scaffolding, Roxie turned her head to se another pink-haired figure with a large guitar standing on a rooftop.

"Oh, you brought a friend too?" Roxie asked.

The twins then looked down and saw a gentleman-like figure and a large brutish figure standing in the shadows.

"Make that friends," Rex said. "Big ones."

The twins then saw the four figures drop down and surround them as they stood back to back with each other.

"Okay, I don't know who you EVOs think you are, but you just surrounded the wrong Providence agents," Roxie said.

The four figures then stepped out of the shadows to reveal themselves... and they were actually still human as they all gave wicked smirks to our heroes.

"You're... not EVOs," Rex said.

"Ooh," the pink-haired figure said. "Ain't they the clever ones?"

The four figures then rushed forwards with a shout as the twins looked to each other nervously.

Roxie jumped out of the way as the massive brute swung a powerful right hook at her which caused part of the wall to cave in as Rex grabbed her and swung her over the gentleman's sword strike to avoid it as they separated to dodge the rocker girl's guitar strike before Rex gave a slide under the mummy's feet as he launched himself at him, causing him to crash headfirst into the brick wall.

"Whoa," Roxie said. "Bro, these guys might not be EVOs, but they sure don't fight like humans."

"Yeah, but then again, neither do we," Rex said as he built his Smack Hands while Roxie summoned her Smite Stick and both rushed forwards with a shout.

Rex brought his Smack Hands apart and prepared to clap them in between the brute figure as he caught them and struggled to hold them back as he turned to his mummy accomplice.

"IV, let them rip!"

The now-named IV nodded and ensnared the Smack Hands with his bandages to create a makeshift catapult.

"Let her rip, Trey."

The now-named Trey brought himself backwards before launching himself straight at Rex.

"Oh boy," Rex said as he built up his Punk Busters to give a rising knee to Trey, who took the massive brunt of it, but managed to land a powerful strike on Rex's face, knocking him out of the fight.

Roxie fought, swinging her Smite Stick violently to clash against the rocker girl's guitar as he blocked all of her strikes before she let loose a massive power chord that sent her off her feet as she crashed into the wall and landed beside her brother.

"Who are you people?" Roxie asked.

"Just tell the blokes at the hospital that Five sent you," the now-named Five said as the twins got up and ran off to avoid her guitar swing. "All yours, Dos!"

The twins rushed until they found themselves face to face with the end of the now-named Dos' cane as he said something to them in Spanish.

"El este Mexico?" Rex asked, confused.

Dos glared as he took the cane end off and pointed the saber sheathed within at the twins.

"Espania!"

Dos rushed at the twins as Rex built his BFS up and Dos elegantly dodged it as he sliced the tip of it off with zero effort as Five leaped on the large sword and swung her guitar at Rex, nearly taking his head off as Roxie leaped in and landed a double kick to her chest, knocking her away as Trey grabbed her from behind as IV lashed his bandages out at her and her brother and cocooned them in his bandages before both easily burst out with a massive feat of strength until Dos knocked them both out with a knock to their heads.

"Not half bad, really," Five said as IV scoffed.

"I've seen better moves on a chessboard."

"Well, I thought they were pretty good, y'all," Trey said.

"Si. But are they good enough?" Dos asked.

"Yes," a familiar voice said as the twins' mentor walked into the alleyway. "And that's why we're taking them with us."

"Six?" the twins asked, just as Dos unleashed a cloud of gas from the end of his cane, knocking the twins unconscious.

"And then, I said to the general 'Your surrender, I can accept. But there is no excuse for that haircut," Dos joked to his teammates as the twins came to.

"Blimey, Dos. You told the same story last time!" Five exclaimed in annoyance.

"And it wasn't very funny then, either," IV said as the twins looked up to see their assailants standing before them.

"Well, forgive me for trying to pass the time," Dos said. "We could ride in silence if you prefer."

"That's fine by me," Trey said. "I like the sound the plane engine makes."

"You do realize you sound like a complete blockhead?" Five asked Trey.

"Ignore her, Trey. Five is obviously still bitter about the Malaysian job," Dos said.

"We're all still bitter about the Malaysian job," IV pointed out, pointing out his left hand missing its pinkie. "It's not like I can pick up another one of these at Pinkie Mart."

"The past is past," Six said as he appeared in behind the group to face the twins. "Let's focus on the task before us."

"Which is... what exactly?" Roxie asked, rubbing her head.

"Six, please tell us this is some whacked out top secret Providence mission?"

Six only stared at them in silence as Roxie groaned.

"No reply. So it's real," she said as she and Rex walked up to their mentor. "So let me get this straight. You've gone AWOL with a bunch of weirdos?"

"Who you calling weird, pipsqueak?" Trey asked.

"Who attacked your apprentices, and now you're abducting those apprentices on a stolen jump jet?"

"...I'd say that sums it up," Six said.

"Why? What's going on?" Rex asked. "Who are these people?"

"Have you ever wondered why they call me Six?" Six asked.

"Because that's how many seconds you have to answer my question?"

"It's because I'm the sixth most dangerous person on the planet. Meet two through five: Trey, Five, Dos and IV."

"It's like a Roman four," IV explained.

"We're not stupid," Roxie said. "Plus, it still doesn't explain why you let them attack us and knock us out?"

"The gas was a bit much," Six said to Dos.

"Eh, force of habit," Dos said.

"Eh, I breathe that stuff for breakfast," IV said.

"And as for the rough and tumble, how else were we supposed to see your bags of tricks?" Five asked.

"Oh, we can't take no amateurs where we going, that for sure," Trey said.

"Okay, so where are we going?" Rex asked.

Six nodded as he pressed a button to turn on a computer, which showed an image of a large mountainous island.

"There."

As the team landed on the island's beach, Rex and Roxie crossed their arms with an annoyed glare.

"Okay, for the record, you could've just asked us for help?" Rex said.

"And by the way, there are five people more dangerous than you? How is that possible?" Roxie asked.

"Who decides the order? And where's Number One?"

"Is he gonna try to kill us too?"

"Very probably," Six said as he stopped. "One has turned EVO. And you two are the only ones who can save him."

The team continued trekking up the mountain before entering a volcanic cavern inside the mountain as Five suddenly started sliding down from the steepness as she looked up to see Dos continuing up.

"Dos, lend us a hand, luv!" she shouted.

Dos stopped in his tracks and then turned to Five with a glare

"Like you lent me a hand in Buenos Aeries?"

"I take it you guys aren't exactly one big happy family," Roxie whispered to Six.

"We all care about the same thing."

IV then wrapped his bandages around a rock and shot himself forwards as he landed between the twins and Six.

"Oh, you care, do you? Is that why you haven't gone to see him in months?" he asked.

"My work is important," Six said.

"Ours is too," Trey said.

"Fighting a planet-wide plague is just a few ranks above breaking arms and legs-"

"You tell our secrets, we'll tell yours," IV warned as the rest of the mercenaries glared heavily at Six.

Rex and Roxie looked on unsurely before they continued trekking through the cavern.

"How's he doing?" Six asked.

"Not well," Five said.

"He's been using meditation and physical discipline to fight the disease," Dos said.

"But he's losing bad," IV said.

"Then it's a good thing we're here," Rex said. "If nanites are the disease, we're the cure."

"Is this a joke, Six?" IV asked. "The bad kind that's not funny?"

"Like a knock knock joke?" Trey asked.

"Shut it!" a very annoyed Five shouted.

"Who that?!"

Dos rolled his eyes as he leaped down to Six's level.

"IV is right. It's a fools errand," Dos agreed. "This boy and girl cannot possibly cure a man like One."

"That boy and girl have faced down and defeated things that would make you run and hide."

Six then raised his nose and marched off as the twins took off after him while the rest of the mercenaries followed after them.

Soon after, the team arrived at the center of the area, which consisted of a large prison platform over a pond of molten magma.

"Nice house that One has," Roxie said.

"We built it when One learned he was sick," Six explained. "We wanted a failsafe."

"If he doesn't enter a code every 41 minutes, the house drops along with anyone in it," Five said.

"So the fact that the house is still here..." Rex began.

"Means there's still hope," Six confirmed.

As the team came forwards to the house's door, everyone stopped.

"So do we knock or..."

The door suddenly opened to reveal a red mutated EVO similar in design to Atrocitus from Green Lantern as he roared and snarled at our heroes and his student, but was restrained by a chain around his neck.

"Everybody back!" Rex shouted as he built up his Punk Busters while Roxie built up her warhammer... but were surprised when they saw Six stand in front of One, protecting him, which prompted the twins to deactivate their builds.

"One, it's me," Six said as One began to calm down. "All of us. And we brought help."

One growled softly before retreating back inside the house as IV nodded.

"It's even worse than before," IV said. "He's too far gone. We're just wasting our time."

"...Then leave," Six said as he followed One into the house.

Rex and Roxie nodded to each other as they followed after Six, followed by the rest of the most dangerous people on the planet.

Inside, everyone looked at the debris around them as Rex and Roxie noticed the words "I am a Man" etched into the wall and then saw One sitting in the corner, staring at a scented candle by the wall as if meditating.

"So how long has he been fighting it?" Roxie asked.

"Five years," Six said.

"Wow. Most people who turn EVO go out of control in five minutes," Rex said.

"One isn't most people."

Everyone only watched as One snarled animalistically, fighting the EVO instincts.

"Aw, guess he liked that scented candle I sent to him," Trey said.

"Honestly, Trey, every time you open your mouth, it makes me want to punch you!" Five shouted.

"I brought someone," Six said. "I know you don't like strangers here, but I thought we could make an exception."

One snarled intriguingly.

"This is Rex and Roxie. I thought they could help. But you have to let them. Do you understand?"

One only snarled as he stomped the flame on the candle out.

"Training and discipline have taken him as far as they can," Six said to the twins. "Now he needs a cure. He needs you two."

Rex and Roxie stepped forwards and slowly extended their arms, placing them on the mercenaries' mutated mentor's, causing his eyes to widen ferally just before they made contact. He shot up from his seat and hissed and growled at the two EVOs.

"What have you done?!" Dos shouted.

"We didn't mean to-" Rex started before One swatted him and Roxie aside, causing them to crash into the walls.

One snarled savagely before rushing forwards, using his brute strength to break the leash's chain from the wall.

"Trey! Chain!" Six ordered as Trey hurriedly grabbed the chain and pulled back with all of his might as One rushed forwards with his mutated strength... but suddenly, the chain was unable to take any more of the stress as it broke off, sending Trey plummeting to the ground as One rushed forwards to freedom.

Dos shook his head at this as he picked up the chain. "He's gone."

To make matters worse, everyone looked to see the 41 minute timer tick down to zero.

"And unless one of you knows his code, this place is going into the soup," IV said.

"RUN!" Roxie shouted as everyone ran for their lives as the metal cables holding the house in place started to break off.

"Quite obviously, luv!" Five shouted as a kick from the destabilizing bridge caused her to lose her footing, but luckily Rex was there as he activated his Boogie Pack to save her just before she hit the lava along with the house as he placed her safely on the other side along with their comrades.

"Told ya bringing the kids along was a bad idea," IV scoffed.

"We didn't even touch him!" Roxie protested. "We can do this."

"We just have to catch up to him," Rex said.

One's students all looked at the twins awkwardly as Roxie crossed her arms with a scoff.

"Come on. It's an island. How far can he possibly go?"

"...They're right," Six said. "We have to find him. We have to try."

"That is not the only option," Dos said, causing Six to twirl around to get into his face.

"No. He can still be saved. He's heading east."

The twins and Six set off into a sprint after One as he bounded through the caverns of the volcanic island, barreling through the stalagmites as he headed for the exit. But he was suddenly swatted aside by a powerful axe strike as Roxie burst into the scene, sending him crashing into her brother's Smack Hands with a shout as she landed beside her brother.

"I don't want him hurt," Six said.

"That's entirely up to him," Roxie said as she rested her axe on her shoulder.

IV suddenly appeared and shot his bandages out to restrain One's left arm while Trey tossed his chain forwards to pull back his left arm.

"They can't hold him long," Six said.

"We'll work fast, remember?" Rex asked.

One snarled and growled like and animal as the twins each placed a hand on his chest.

"Okay, this might sting a little, One," Roxie said as they activated their nanites to begin to heal One as his eyes suddenly changed from animal back to a human state.

"It's working," Five said.

"Hey, that's what I was gonna say," Trey said.

"That's right. Almost..." Rex said.

But it was quickly proven to go wrong as One's eyes changed back as he gave out another savage roar.

"I told ya," IV said as One flexed, sending the twins flying back to Six's feet.

"Hurry, they've still got him," Six said, helping the twins up. "You can try again."

"It won't matter, Six," Roxie said. "He's incurable. We're sorry."

"Then we'll do what we should've done when we got here," Dos said, thrusting his cane up. "We'll handle this our way."

"Stop!" Six said as Dos blasted one with the cane hidden in his blaster. Six quickly slammed Dos against the cavern wall, engaging in a strength struggle as the two dangerous men pushed each other back before Trey grabbed the back of Six's jacket and tossed her back.

"Your plan did not work," Dos said. "This is the only option."

"Killing our teacher was never an option," Six protested. "Even if the twins can't cure him, we can still help."

"We've heard about your 'Petting Zoo," IV scoffed. "He's not an animal."

"One would sooner die than live in a cage," Five said.

"Not that any cage could hold him anyway," Trey said.

"Let us try again," Rex said. "There's gotta be something we can do."

"No. One is gone," Dos said. "That thing is not him anymore. Just an abomination that must be destroyed."

"That man gave me a home when I had nothing," Six said. "He trained me. He took care of me. And now, I have to take care of him."

"Sorry, luv, but I think you're outvoted," Five said.

"I voted twice," Trey said stupidly.

"This was never a democracy," Six said, drawing his magnet blades as he started sparring with his fellow students, holding them off a she turned to the twins. "Rex, Roxie, save One! Get him out of here before they-'

Six never finished as Five drop kicked him in the head before letting out a powerful soundwave from her guitar that Roxie blocked by generating a large shield as she turned to One.

"Come on! Follow us!" Rex shouted to a groaning One as he struggled to get up.

"ONE!" Roxie shouted, slamming the floor next to him with her warhammer, startling One up as she gestured the most dangerous man in the world to follow her and Rex down a cavern while Six continued to fight off his teammates as Rex activated his comm link.

"This is Rex to Providence, requesting an immediate evac! And a really big cage!" Rex said with no response on the radio as Roxie activated her comm link to try her luck out.

"Roxie to Providence!" she shouted. "Are there any Providence Agents on this frequency?! Please respond!"

"This is Agent Holloway with Recon 35. Changing course to intercept. ETA is five minutes."

"Can we talk you down to four?" Rex asked.

Suddenly, a powerful sound blast struck the rocks nearby and cause a rockslide, causing Rex, Roxie and One to fall screaming to the ground before the twins righted themselves and landed gracefully as they smirked to One's students.

"I gotta be honest. I was kind of hoping for a rematch," Rex said.

"Step aside, viejo," Dos warned.

"Don't make us hurt you two, luv," Five agreed.

"Come on. We're just tryin to do the right thing," Trey said.

"The right thing is what Six told you guys," Roxie said.

"Forget Six," IV said. "Look at him, kids. He's just a monster now and you two can't cure him. You know we're right."

The twins looked back at One as he struggled and writhed on the ground as the nodded to each other and gave a fist-bump before building up their BFS and Smite Stick.

"All we know is to trust Six," Rex said.

Trey lunged forwards to our heroes before Roxie smashed him across the back as Five leaped over her and kicked her in the back before Rex grabbed her guitar and tossed her over to crash into the rocky wall. IV shot his bandages outwards and they wrapped around our heroes, ensnaring them in place as Trey gave them both an uppercut to send them flying up as Five jumped up to meet them and played a wicked power chord to send them crashing back to the ground.

"This time, no mercy!" Dos shouted as he flew down towards Rex and Roxie with his cane thrust out, only for it to be countered by Six's magnet blades as he suddenly appeared and countered the attack and sent Dos flying back to his comrades.

"That's your problem, Dos. No mercy."

As Six's fellow students rushed at him, he easily blocked and countered all of their attacks before he rushed to Dos and blocked and countered all of his attacks before Dos kicked up a cloud of sand into Six's face, disorientating him before IV knocked him aside.

"Six!" Rex and Roxie shouted before they both dug deep and started to map out the blueprints for a new build as Rex built up two axes on his hands as he shouted out and rushed forwards with a shout of effort as Roxie shouted out and built up a massive spiked shield with blades on the edges as they both shouted out and charged forwards with a mighty war cry as they knocked One's apprentices aside as Six met at their side.

"That's new," Six said.

"Been saving them for a special occasion," Roxie said as she blocked every attack from the mercenaries as she landed a powerful smash to Five's head as he sent her hurtling towards Six as he slashed through IV's bandages before leaping up to grab her head with his feet and judo-flipped her to the ground.

"Oh, no you didn't!" Trey shouted as he charged forwards as Rex blocked his fists with his axes before Six leaped over him and then gave a spin kick to Trey's head, knocking him out.

The trio then charged Dos, who casually blocked all of their strikes with his cane as Roxie suddenly dissipated her shield and summoned her Smite Stick as she surprised Dos by tripping him up before the trio all struck him with their most powerful blows as they knocked him out as well as the twins panted.

"So does this make us two of the most dangerous people on the planet?" Rex asked.

"What number are we?" Roxie asked with a grin.

Then, One gave out a massively exhausted roar as he stood up before collapsing to the ground again.

"Hang on, One," Six said. "Help is coming."

As Six bounded towards his mentor, Rex and Roxie turned their heads to see the Providence evacuation team coming towards the island on the horizon.

"They'll never make it in time," Rex said as he and Roxie leaped towards Six.

"Six, stand back," Roxie called as Six stepped back as the twins stood on opposite sides as they pressed their hands against One's hide. "Let's try this again."

Rex and Roxie then activated their nanites again, but it took a crap ton of their energy as both they and One shouted out in pain as Six gained a concerned look on his face.

"Rex, Roxie, enough!" Six shouted as he ran towards them and One.

"He, I had a coon dog with something like that," Trey said to Five. "I called her Daisy."

"One more word out of you..." Five said with a twitch.

Six took Rex by the shoulder as he turned around and revealed his eyes and veins glowing blue.

"Six," Rex said in what was obviously One's voice.

"One?"

"You left this place," One said through Roxie. "Quit life as a mercenary and so rarely returned to visit."

"I did what I felt was right," Six said. "I never meant to dishonor..."

"So rarely that I've never had time to tell you... how proud you've made me," One said through Rex as Six removed his sunglasses with a nod.

"We're going to help you. We're going to take you home."

"But Six, I am home."

The exhausted twins then let go as they fell into Six's arms as he held them in his arms as everyone looked to see One's body completely decompose into the sandy ground, becoming one with the island. A golden energy wave dispersed around the island and in its wake, the once barren rocky island terrain was suddenly replaced with lush greenery and plant life, leaving the twins and One's students looking on in awe.

Six then put his sunglasses back on as he turned to the others.

"He's still One," he said. "He's just... one with the island now."

Later on, the twins and Six were now flying home as the twins turned to Six.

"So, does this mean that you're the new Number One?" Rex asked.

"No," Six said.

"What? Why not?" Roxie asked. "You kicked all of their butts without even trying."

"I mean, you did have the help of two incredibly cool and cute young agents, but who's counting" Rex said.

Six said nothing as the twins groaned in annoyance.

"Oh, come on! You beat everyone! Why doesn't that make you the new One?" Roxie asked.

"We're not ranked by who's the best fighter. We're ranked by who's the most dangerous," Six explained. "There was a time where I did want to be Number One and I was well on my way."

"So what happened?" Rex asked.

"I met you two," Six said, causing the twins to smile. "Now, I believer I owe you two a hamburger. Hungry?"

"Um, always," Roxie said. "Can we make it a triple?"
