Since Disney failed us with their horrible reboot, this is the prologue to my version of a WITCH reboot. Please share this with as many people as you can because I want as many fans as possible to read it and give their input. Also, if enough people talk about this and how it's a proper reboot(which I hope you all think it is), Disney may be motivated to properly reboot it(though if that actually happens, let's make it clear that we don't want any of the woke agenda shoved into it). I am trying to be as faithful as possible to the comics, but I need to change things to make sense, such as using Quintessence from the cartoons. That make more sense to me than the vague Energy from the comics. Having only a few worlds makes more sense than having who knows how many and expecting only five girls to defend them, and I needed a reason to explain the connection between Earth and Metamoor. I'd love to hear any suggestions and if you want to help me write it! I'm still not sure if the girls should be older, how to explain the transformations and if there will be more than one, and what designs the transformations will have. I do like some elements of the original, but I also like elements of the New Powers and doll original Power Girl as well as the new outfits on the cover of issue 126. Please tell me if you know what the authors' original plans were. I read some things on TV Tropes and WITCH wiki but don't know where they got the information.

In the beginning, there were the Elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Quintessence. Together they created the Five Worlds of Earth, Metamoor, Arkhanta, Basiliade, and Nune-Boreal. They created five so they'd each have their own world; Metamoor for Quintessence, Earth for Earth, Arkhanta for Water, Basiliade for Fire, and Nune-Boreal for Air. For millennia, while they didn't interfere much in the affairs of those without magic, they each ruled the magical communities on their world from the Fortress of Kandrakar.

The Fortress was a grand and mystical palace outside of time and space that they shared with a select group of inhabitants from each world who formed the Council of Elders led by the Oracle, since, as god-like beings, they weren't going to communicate directly with the inhabitants of the worlds. The Council was responsible for relaying their laws and decisions to the magical citizens of each world and enforcing said laws, and they were entrusted with various magical artifacts to aid them in doing so. Eventually, the Elements decided that it was time for a well-deserved rest, and so they needed to select those worthy enough to take their places. They each chose a young woman from each world to be a Nymph of an Element, which meant that in addition to being immortal and wielding the elements and all their secondary powers on a level similar to the Elements, they would be the Council's new bosses as well as the Elements' representatives on each world and would be responsible for enforcing their laws, and they would be able to communicate with them from their resting places as well and would be responsible for said resting places and for who could use the great power they would generate, and they would be able to travel to the other worlds and speak and understand all the languages. They chose N'Ghala of Metamoor, Xin Jing of Earth, Tea of Nune-Boreal, Oneide of Basiliade, and Ebla of Arkhanta, and then the Elements each chose a spot on their favored world to sleep.

The new Nymphs were rather upset at having these new responsibilities dumped on them out of nowhere, but at least they had the Council of Elders to help them. Until this point, there wasn't any contact between the worlds since there wasn't any need for that, but then Morgon, king of the Kahedrin, became intent on conquering Metamoor and N'ghala found Prince Evroult of Great Britain to be the ideal one to defeat him. Why, you may ask? Because while N'ghala knew she could defeat Morgon easily, she wanted to establish a system so people didn't only depend on her to protect them. The citizens were in favor of a monarchy, but they all favored people from their own races and tribes, and were therefore open to an outsider. She was best friends with Xin Jing and often visited Earth, so that was where she turned to.

She first, however, arranged a meeting with the other Nymphs in Kandrakar, to not only inform Xin Jing of what she planned but to share with them an idea. She told them what she was planning for Metamoor, and that afterwards, she intended to turn herself into a magical crown that would be worn by Evroult's wife Lèane and all the Queens after her so she could still keep an eye on things while ensuring they had a government that would hopefully ensure peace, and suggested that the others do something similar.

The others weren't sure.

"Who will protect the worlds from those who use magic for evil if we do this, and what makes you so sure that none of Evroult's descendants will turn to evil?" Tea asked.

"I'm not sure," N'ghala replied, "but we cannot control everything and everyone, and my magic crown will ensure that only one who is worthy can wear it and that she can defeat anyone who threatens the planet."

The Nymphs saw the value in her argument, and after Xin Jing gave her her blessing, N'ghala went on with her plans and the others returned to their worlds to contemplate if they should do something similar. She considered Evroult to be the one to defeat Morgon, because besides being skilled at magic, he was already royalty (although, since the people were used to having a woman in charge, his wife, Lèane, would be Queen and he would be Prince Consort). And with his four knights (men who could also use magic and whose names were Henri, Dider, Bram, and Geffrai) they were five people, and Quintessence was the Fifth Element. Evroult accepted her proposal, and after he defeated Morgon, N'ghala turned herself into a crown for his wife, Lèane, to wear that would give her descendants great power and the ability to control Quintessence's resting place, especially the females who would rule after her.

Centuries passed, and Tea, Oneide, and Ebla had grown to like their responsibilities and the power that came along with it. They had even formed their own fortress and council to rule over their three worlds together and had cut off contact with the others. That suited Xin Jing just fine, since there was some travel between Earth and Metamoor and that was hard enough to manage. She couldn't imagine dealing with travel between the others as well. She was also planning who her successor would be, and thinking of copying N'ghala's example. Instead of turning herself into an object, though, she was thinking of merging with one, specifically, the Heart of Kandrakar. The Heart was an amulet created by the Elements and imbued with much of their power for the purpose of empowering five worthy individuals to aid the Nymphs and protect Kandrakar when necessary, however, it was never used and currently in Kandrakar doing nothing. Since the Nymphs were the Council's bosses, she would be able to go to Kandrakar and demand the Heart, though not wanting to alienate the Queens of Metamoor (and wanting to talk to N'ghala one last time even if she was a crown and probably wouldn't talk back), she discussed it with the current one, Queen Aliss.

Queen Aliss pointed out that it would be more beneficial if she had five chosen ones as was intended for the Heart as it would be too much power and responsibility for one person, and that having them fulfill the purpose of protecting Kandrakar would mean that until they were chosen, she would be in Kandrakar and able to ensure that the Council wasn't getting any funny ideas. She would also have access to the other magical items in Kandrakar that she could give to others if it was necessary such as, say, five citizens of Metamoor, which would strengthen the ties between the two worlds.

Xin Jing agreed, though she did say it could take years or decades to find five worthy individuals on Earth, let alone Metamoor, and that she needed the Queen to be extra vigilant in ensuring that no unsavory characters crossed over to Earth. To her delight, the crown that used to be N'ghala spoke to her telepathically and told her how glad she was to see her. After ensuring that there would be those worthy to use the power from Earth's resting place and to take charge of the magical communities, she merged with the Heart and settled in Kandrakar to wait until she was needed.

This was really hard! Escanor, his wife Leryn, his four knights, Grendal, Hoel, Didier, and Brandis, and the Nymphs came from special issues, so I wanted to add them. According to WITCH wiki, the authors said that Escanor and his four knights lived at the time of Richard the Lionheart. I want the names to be accurate to the time period, and Richard ruled after the Norman conquest of England, which means that as royalty and nobility(because knights were usually nobles) they would've had Norman names. Didier is a French name, and the others except for Leryn are names that it's plausible they would've had before 1066. There are two Escanors in Arthurian legend, and there was also a King Hoel in Arthurian legend and two dukes named Hoel in the tenth century. Brandis is a name with Old English roots, and Grendel is actually an Anglo-Saxon name. Leryn came up as a Spanish-American name, so I changed it to the Norman name Lèane. Speaking of changing names, Hay is a Chinese last name and Hai is a girl's name with the closest spelling so I'll probably change it and Taranee(also spelled Tarani) is a Hindu name, which doesn't fit her family, so I'll probably change that. It feels weird to change their names and some other characters' names, but it feels even weirder to know that their names aren't culturally accurate.
