"Sometimes, all it takes, is a little train engine, and the spirit of the child within us, to see the beauty in our lives, and hope that we can always find it there…"

Robert the Brighton Baltic Engine - Foreword

Before I do or say anything else, I want to give praise and glory to God Almighty. Lord, I thank you for being with me and for guiding me over the past few months. Thank you for giving me the strength to acknowledge and battle the demons that resided in my soul. Thank you for the wonderful people in my life, including my family and mentors. Thank you!

Disclaimer: I don't own Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. If I did, it would be just like the old-style episodes that aired before the CGI episodes – when they actually cared about making an actual story rather than simple, childish ramblings and decisions.

Dear friends,

The Fat Controller has recently purchased two new engines to work around the big station until the three big engines learn to behave. One of these engines is named Robert, and he has become quite popular with the passengers and railway staff. Unfortunately, not everything is going well, as the Board of Directors have become quite concerned with the Fat Controller's handling of the railway's finances, and even directly confronted him about it, letting him know their patience with him has reached its end.

I have also been told that Robert has had problems of his own…one of which involved a particular little tank engine with a history of bad mannerisms. Alas, his most recent actions had landed Robert and the Fat Controller on extremely thin ice. Thankfully, I'm happy to say that things have worked out for them both.

These are the stories about what happened. I hope you will all enjoy them.

The Author.

At last, here is the Forward for my latest Railway Series Canon/Fanfiction project – Robert the Baltic Engine. My thanks to D.J. Scales for his much-appreciated editorial support over the past year, both for this and my other stories.

I'm already working on the four/five stories for this book, and will be able to dedicate more time to writing them after I return from my SW England-Wales trip.

I'm starting off in London, where I'll visit the London Transport Museum and Railway-themed exhibits; I'm hoping to gleam some much needed information about the Brighton Baltics while I'm there, as well as the LBSC Railway. Then, it's on to Bath, followed by Bristol - where I'll visit the M Shed museum and the Bristol Harbour Railway. Next will be Cardiff in Wales, where I'll see the National Museum of History and the local castles/ruins.

Finally, after that, the highlight of the trip: the Fairbourne and Talyllyn Heritage Railways - the latter of which the Reverend Wilbert Awdry himself volunteered on as a train guard/conductor. While I'll bee too early for the 80th anniversary celebration in May, I can still claim to have visited the Talyllyn for the 80th Anniversary of the Railway Series.

Then, after a tour through Liverpool., it's back to London, than back home to Canada. Needless to say, I am very excited for this trip, and know that it will help me tremendously for both my history and writing career going forward.

Once again, I'll be able to dedicate more time to writing Robert the Baltic Engine upon my return. Until next time, please read and review. Take care, stay safe, and have a good one!
