Chapter 1: A whole new world
Sogeru Pov
I woke up with an almost indescribable pain, you see when people wake up after a hangover and say "ow my head" well my entire body feels like that and boy oh boy, does it feel horrible.
I tried focusing on any other sensation besides the constant, throbbing pain and felt myself laying on a soft surface. I opened my eyes for the first time and looked up to the pale white ceiling of the room I was situated in. The bed felt comfortable, soft and warm, it almost made me fall asleep but then the pain made itself known again much to my dismay. I looked beside me almost grunting at the amount of effort it took to turn my neck.
When I finally managed to get my head to the side I noticed the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. She had long straight black hair tinted with purple highlights, her skin was slightly pale and utterly perfect. Her natural scent reminded me of juniper flowers mixed with blackberries and the sound of her soft breathing felt oddly familiar. She wore a black longsleeve top and the rest of her body was covered, by the blanket we were sharing. Safe to say I had utterly no clue as to where I was or what was even happening.
At first I thought I was hallucinating, I had been up for the past two days studying for the final exam I had coming up. I was in my second year of medicine and my studies were being paid via scholarship so failure was not an option. So after falling asleep on my bed(while my text book was in my hand) I made the logical decision that I was having a bit of mental episode.
Just as I was about to settle in my paranoia and or fear , floating white text appeared infront of my eyes.
'Congratulations! The God's of entertainment have chosen you Sogeru Katayoki to be the first human to take part in their celestial grimoire program.
The program gives you the ability of the celestial grimoire a book that randomly gives you powers based on feats you do. The better the feat ,the better the power.

After hyperventilating for longer than I'd like to admit the God's sent me another message, well they basically smashed the last 18 years worth of memories this poor guy lived straight into my brain, these gods really don't have manners I complained internally due to feeling a sharp pain shoot through my head.
The message essentially explained everything that was happening. I, formerly Sogeru Yakuno was transported into the body of one Sogeru Katayoki's body. The new Sogeru was essentially a one to one copy of me personality wise so I wouldn't have to worry about acting differently atleast.
I was currently on Remnat the fictional planet of the series RWBY. I was a member of team SOAR, consisting of myself Sogeru, Otsua, Ayin-lee and the girl laying beside me Rei. We're second years at beacon currently.
Otsua was a shy girl with white hair and light green eyes. She was small but don't let that fool you she was one hell of a fighter. She's supposedly the strongest of our group when it comes to combat and can take each of us individually without breaking to much of sweat, which is why she's our team leader. She had a soft spoken personality and seemed to stay away from conflict.
She uses a bo staff that can shift into a spear and her semblance, ultraslide let's her move across any surface as if it was regular ground ,yes that includes air and water it also exponentially increases her speed to downright unfair levels
Ayin-lee could only be described as the loveable air head of the group. She was a simple girl but definitely not dumb she just didn't really care about all the trivial matters of life like the rest of us. She has bright red hair that she wore in a short and curly pixie cut. She has golden eyes and tanned skin and has a slightly muscular build, not bodybuilder muscular more bikini model muscular though.
She met with Otsua first in emerald forest and has been pestering our poor leader to come out her shell and stop being so shy.
She uses a naginta, a traditional Japanese weapon, that also functions as a tactical rifle. Her semblance, combo star makes every hit she land increase her combo, this basically means that she deals more damage with every attack regardless of the strength of the attack. This also means that she has an insanely creative fighting style that is so complex and thought out that Otsua stated she had never ever seen someone fight like that before.
Also I forgot to add but Otsua is basically like Pyra with the whole never lost ever gimmick they have going. Which makes Ayin-Lee even more impressive.
Now finally the girl besides me Rei. I already described how she looked so on to her background then. Rei and I grew up together, best friends from a young age. We'd always get in trouble together and in the midst of all the frankly dumb things we did we decided we wanted to be huntsman.
Early in life Rei expressed her lack of interest in boys and I had been the one to explain to her what a lesbian is ,and from that day onwards she's been well a lesbian I really don't know where I was going with that but bare with me, I just got teleported into a new world.
Anyway her sexuality lead to us becoming even closer since we knew we wouldn't end up dating we basically became inseparable. Have we gotten nearly thousands of accusations of us dating, Definitely yes, did we care? No, no we did not.
Rei had the classic mean older sister personality and treated me like some little kid much to my irritation but I know she does it because she cares.
Rei fights with twin daggers that can be fused and used as a submachine gun. Her semblance "See no evil" is the best optical illusion semblance I know of, she can completely manipulate the light entering someone's eyes changing what they see, adding things to their vision, taking away things from their vision or straight up taking their vision away.
She also fought the dirtiest out of all us, stating that in an actual fight every tactic is fair game and it's our fault that we can't resist her semblance. That pretty much sums Rei up as a person. The thought strangely brought a smile to my face as I watched my apparent "bestie for life" sleeping peacefully.
Rei Hayura Pov
I could literally feel Sogeru staring at me even in my sleep. As I opened my eyes and almost opened my mouth to scold him my words got stuck in my throat and that left me with one thought. Was Sogeru always this beautiful?
His face was perfectly symmetrical and all his features were in harmony creating sculpture like beauty, no more than that almost the perfect appearance for a male.
It was more than his face though, the way his wavy black hair fell absolutely perfectly down to his shoulders and a few strands conveniently covering his absolutely stunning Grey eyes, his fair skin almost glowing, his natural smell of warm vanilla suddenly smelled like the best thing in the world without being overpowering, the way the moonlight hit his upper body that showed every contour of his muscle even through the white t shirt he was wearing.
"Did I wake you up, Rei" Oh by the gods even his voice had her feeling things she wouldn't like to admit.
"No go to sleep idiot" she tried her best to sound mean and cold but she doubted her tone displayed that. He chuckled, another heavenly sound and slowly turned his back to her.
Either she was sleep deprived or she had been seeing the wrong Sogeru for the past ten years she had been friends with him but Sogeru was not like... well not like that
Damn wasn't I supposed be lesbian she hopelessly thought internally. Not that Sogeru's changes(may be changes, may be her delusion) affected her sexuality she just never found men attractive but her best friend, the same boy who'd sneak out with her to prank the neighbors, the same boy who screamed with her when they'd go together on Rollercoasters that kids had no business being on, just accomplished what no man on Remnant has done

Sogerus Pov
After finally falling asleep, I woke up the latest of my team, granted not by much because everyone slept in. Today was Saturday afterall and being a hunter in training results in a busy schedule, sleeping in on a Saturday is definitely deserved. I groggily sat up and saw Otsua, Ayin-lee and Rei busy making pancakes in our dorms kitchen.
"Morning guys, sorry I woke up so late this week had me exhausted" I said as I entered the kitchen choosing stand on the opposite end of the kitchen island. I enjoyed the familiar smell of breakfast and an early morning, subtly reminding me of my past life where I'd be making pancakes for my family. Good times.
Ayin -lee who I'll be referring to Ayin since that's what everybody calls her was the first to respond.
"No problem partner sleeping late on a Saturday is completely warranted, hell I would've been knocked out too if it wasn't for our oh-so-great team leader waking me up to make breakfast." Her back was facing me the entire time and she directed her last sentence at Otsua who was standing next to her who simply pouted and lightheartedly punched her shoulder.
Rei was queit oddly enough, usually she'd have found at least eighty things to lecture me on but at the moment she was just staring at me while sipping her coffee. Her gaze as intense, she looked like she had something on her mind for some reason, strange.
Otsua and Ayin finally turned away from the stove to face Rei and I, instead of a conversation they literally started at me wide eyed with gaping mouths. They looked to Rei and she just nodded yes, probably some girl thing I don't understand, women I don't think I'll ever get you I sighed internally.

After freshening up I chose to go to beacons gym to escape the stares of my teammates ,seriously was there something on my face I wasn't seeing?
I sighed as I entered the locker room placing my bag into the steel locker after I took out every thing I needed and promptly locking the door. As I finished with the door another popup distracted me
'For not ruining your current body's past social life you've been awarded a rare feat!'
You're kidding the first feat I get is for not being anti-social I ask with a deadpan.

You know what this power might just be insanely good. The original skill belonged to Azula from ATLA and it's just a buffed version of regular firebending. Firebending was based on a martial art which one specifically I can't remember but I did get a black belt in Taekwondo in my past life I'm sure I'll think of creative ways to use my new power.
It also ironically fit my semblance, firecracker. My semblance when using aura combined with my momentum allowed me to create blue flaming attacks that are much stronger than what I can usually dish out, the only downside is my semblance works on charge logic so I need to strike and move alot before I can use my flame attack or as I affectionately call it 'Moeru' which translated to Blaze in Japanese or Mistralian here on Remnant
As I was lost in thought a short girl with black and red hair bumped into me. It didn't feel like much she was rather short compared to my six foot something frame ,plus I was like 225 pounds of pure muscle due to my life as a hunter and all the training this body has done.
The already pink blush on her face increased a thousand fold when she looked up to face me. Her silver eyes widening slightly as our eyes met, her nerves seemingly increased before she shouted out something I just barely managed to understand.
"HI I'M RUBY AND MY SISTER AND I'M REALLY NERVOUS AND YOU'RE REALLY PRETTY AND MY SISTER PUSHED ME INTO YOU AND TOLD ME TO ASK YOU TO BE MY FRIEND" she exasperatedly shouted seeming to be out of the breath by the end of her sentence. I looked over her shoulder to see a blonde haired girl with quite the uhm, how can I put this? Feminine physique, on her looking at me as if I was prey and she was the ultimate predator. Not that I didn't like it though.
"See Yang no one wants to be my friend." The short girl whined to her sister who I now knew the name of. " Hey I never said I'm Sogeru nice to meet you, Ruby." I said offering a handshake to the poor girl. She faintly took my hand and I swear I could hear Yang mutter 'mama likes what she sees' under her breath.
Yikes.
"Hey Sogeru right, how about a spar? I think it's a much better way to get to know each other" Yang asked me with a smirk on her face. She probably wanted to test how strong I was at the moment.
I was skeptical, sure I knew how to fight but I've only fought regular humans in my past life not superpowered hunters who can pull random stuff out their ass, not that I'm judging my strongest power is literally pulling things from other universes out my ass.
Then again I need to test my firebending and Yang seems to be on the level of Ayin in terms of combat ability, so it'll be a good test. So I'm going to get my ass handed to me but it'll be fun.
"Sure I'm down" I said after convincing myself that this was a good idea. I had no idea what to expect and I also lacked a solid plan.
This was going to be interesting. "Great see you in the ring then" she grinned at me and Ruby looked at me with an expression that screamed "You fool you're gonna get your ass kicked" that's definitely a good sign, yep.
-Timeskip-
I stood across from Yang in the large boxing ring. We both agreed to a no weapons spar and to stop the fight if either of our Aura hit the red. Ruby is the referee and she's standing outside the ring.
Yang had her hair tied up behind her. She was dressed in a yellow form fitting crop top and black harem pants. She seemed to be serious for whatever reason, her purple eyes intently focused on me.
The air was tense, a certain aura of anticipation washed over me and I clenched my jaw in anticipation. Yang dashed at me first, as I expected she was the more aggressive fighter between us.
I dodged her flying knee by angling to the left of her. She landed quickly spinning on one foot and delivering a spinning back kick to my body. I caught it, grunting at the force behind it, before sending a punch to her face.
She instinctively put up a cross guard and my fist smashed into her forearms. She stumbled back hopping on one leg as I held the other. Just as she was about to escape I landed a well timed leg kick to her supporting leg, sweeping her off her feet.
She rolled away dodging the axe kick I had aimed at her midsection my foot hitting the mat where her body previously was. As she got to her feet I dashed at her jumping into a spinning kick. I had finally built up enough momentum for my first Moeru after three rotations and enhanced it with me newly acquired fire bending.
Yang seemed to predict the range of Moeru before it was enhanced and dodge out of its previous range. Unfortunately for her things were different now.
As I kicked in her direction a blade of blue fire was shot out at break neck speeds. She realized her mistake and took the attack head on. A large cloud of smoke covered her momentarily before she dashed through it.
Her hair was slightly glowing but I noticed she seemed to be faster, her semblance most likely activated. As she got to me in record time she started to brawl with me.
I controlled distance best I could with kicks and straights, dodging where I could and blocking the strikes I had no chance of evading. Yang definitely hit harder than me and as our spar continued she seemed to grow stronger which wasn't good for me. We continued our exchange, I landed strikes far more often than her but when she landed she definitely did more damage, she hit like someone twice her size and she was deceptively experienced, luckily I had more than 10 years of fighting experience myself thanks to Taekwondo fights of my past life.
I'm positive the real Sogeru Katayoki would've lost this fight his style of heavy hitting with precision wouldn't work with Yangs brawling and superior physical strength. Also don't let the word brawl confuse you, Yang has exceptional fighting technique and scarily high fighting IQ, she doesn't just rush in and trade without a plan like most brawlers.
I dodge a one-two combo from Yang and landed my second Moeru of the match, a firebending-enhanced spinning elbow. My blue fire glowed brilliantly, as I twisted my Body, my speed greatly enhanced by my semblance and bending, resulting in my elbow cleanly hitting her on her chin. She seemed shock that I delivered so much power and looked rather angry at herself for underestimating her opponent. The force sent her toppling over as I heard a loud 'bang'.
She seemed to be falling but as I dropped my guard she used her momentum to land a cartwheel kick that sent me flying to the ropes of the ring. I bounced off, quickly finding my feet, my head was slightly dizzy and even though I had my aura protecting me that felt like truck rammed through me. I left myself open, then again since when do people have physical strength to stop their fall with one hand and still deliver a powerful strike, fighting superhumans was significantly different. I'd remember that for next time.
Yang had a sinister smile on her face, that made me huff out a breath of exhaustion, inadvertently sending a small plume of fire out my mouth. Just as we were about to engage again I heard Ruby yell "STOP"
I looked over to her confused, then saw that both me and Yang had aura dipping into the red, damn Yang was strong I made sure to avoid getting hit as much as possible yet still I was as good as gone. Strangely enough I managed to get her into the red too. That's probably because my new style of fighting is an exact counter to hers and my semblance has been thoroughly enhanced with my new firebending so I most likely caught her off guard.
"Good job Sogeru I didn't expect your semblance to be that strong or you fighting like that but damn was it difficult to handle. Seriously dude you're quite the fighter." Yang complimented me, she's joking right I wasn't even fighting that amazingly just now. Huntsman were strange.

I closed my eyes feeling a searing pain as the changes happened in real time. As I opened my eyes again I was stunned by the new powers I had gained. I could literally see aura, I saw how Yangs aura looked, her aura level, the quality of her aura every minute detail I could see it. The same with Ruby but I noticed an irregularity with her eyes which glowed a bright silver colour. It seemed like her silver eyes were already starting to manifest, a stark difference between her show counterpart, so this is definitely an AU world.
Anyway, my aura also changed I could manipulate it with precision and I felt it's regeneration in real time, this definitely felt odd. I know that Six Eyes is what made Gojo Mr strongest in Jujutsu Kaisen, literally made him so strong that the author was forced to kill him otherwise the plot wouldn't be resolved so I was looking forward to what changes it could bring into my life.
Man the feeling of having superpowers is so strange. I thought I'd get used to it after the fight but now that I've gained six eyes I'm even less used to the idea.
"Hey Sogeru I don't mean to alarm you but your eyes are kinda glowing" Ruby said sheepishly as I exited the ring. I raised an eyebrow at that and brought my scroll up to check. My Grey eyes now had a blue hue to them and they seemed to be glowing and upon sending more of my energy into my eyes they glowed brighter and became a more ethereal shade of blue. I directed the aura away and found myself with blue-Grey eyes that looked kinda intimidating if I'm being honest.
I said goodbye to Yang and Ruby as they left, I chose to do upper body day at the gym and I was pleasantly suprised at my newfound strength thanks to the change six eyes brought in my aura.
I finished up and took my bag out my locker walking back to my dorm room. On my way back I walked past a few students while my six eyes were activated. Yet again I was suprised at the sheer amount of information I could get with my power, I really understand why Gojo was so busted now, not only does six eyes give you energy control to the highest degree, pair that with a broken cursed technique like limitless it's no wonder he was the strongest.
Strangely I sensed, you heard me right, sensed a group of people walking in my direction. A saw a group of Atlesian soldiers walking behind one Winter Schnee. She looked serious, her blue eyes furrowed in concentration. She was dressed in her specialist uniform and her soldiers were covered head to toe in armor.
Her aura was sharp, like a finely balanced blade, at the moment she was miles ahead of me in terms of strength. I walked past her thinking nothing of her until her entire group did a double take wait no scratch that a triple take as I passed by.
The first time was definitely my appearance Paragon of Attraction really worked well, like way too well. The second time was probably when they sensed my aura and the last time was for when they saw my eyes. Winter looked like she wanted to look a fourth time but chose not to. You may be asking how I knew that, well six eyes works even behind my head so there's that.
It's strange that winter is here though, in the show I don't remember her visiting beacon until the later volumes so something is definitely happening, she's not the type to come visit Weiss even if that's her little sister. I forced more aura into my eyes expanding my sensing range, I found Ozpin sitting in his tower, Qrow and Glynda Goodwitch sat with him, they seemed to be expecting someone, most likely winter.
This was most likely about Salem, winter was Ironwoods most trusted general so he probably sent her in his place, I guess being the president of Atlas makes you busy, well technically he isn't the president of Atlas but I mean come on if you watched RWBY we all know who called the shots over in Atlas.
Now I wonder what they were going to talk about?
Why couldn't my life just be simple it's almost like the gods who threw me into this world knew what I planned to do and decided to throw me a few curve balls.
Originally I planned on keeping a low profile, then I got Paragon of Attraction and that plan was firmly out the window, I planned on not interacting with the main characters since they always brought trouble but after my spar with Yang and my whole six eye situation that plan was also a failure. Now winter saw me.
Am I a fool for thinking I can live a simple life or do the gods simply want a good reality tv show?
My Saturday was mostly uneventful which was a good thing, the girls of team SOAR left to go shopping so I was alone for most of the day, not that I minded.
I also finally managed to find my weapon, my past self really hid it pretty well, seriously who would think to look for a weapon behind a fridge, I'm getting off topic sorry. My weapon was actually two weapons, at first glance it was a katana and a sheathe but that's where the twist came in both parts of the sword can be utilized, my sheathe named crucible can mecha shift into a six-shooter that can shoot dust rounds and regular .50 cal bullets. The blade named Athenor was a regular blade except I designed it in such a way that it made Moeru easy to use, I could basically use Moeru with every slash but that drained alot of aura.
Now though I had six eyes, firebending and a great weapon. Six eyes negated the draw back of Athenor and I'm pretty sure the control it granted me meant I could shoot fire bullets out of crucible, life is good.
I picked my scroll up and dialed Rei's number. Her phone rang three times before she picked up "What do you want you know I don't like being bothered when I'm shopping" she asked quickly trying to sound mean but failing completely.
"Geez you could just greet, anyway I'm gonna be at the library studying late tonight I'll take my key with me so ask Aylin to unlock for you" I lied, my actual plan was to go to the area just behind Vale and go kill Grimm, I'm not really a training hobo but at the moment I need power and the only way to do that is through feats, and feats aren't earned for sitting on you ass.
"Dude you can chill I know you like academic validation but you don't have to be a nerd" she said trying to insult but I know she just didn't want me to overwork myself.
"I'll be fine, talk later, bye Rei." I said quickly earning a see ya from her. I made sure to eat a hearty meal before leaving and I cleaned up the entire dorm bar the bed of Ayin and Otsua. I got dressed in my hunter gear, it was just a simple black suit with metal armor in all the places that need protection, it was lightweight and not that bulky, but I traded defense for movement so I knew what I was getting myself in for.
I attached Athenor onto my waist by the magnetic clip I had built specifically for it, since Athenor was sheated, I loaded 6 fire dust rounds into crucible in it's sheate form. The forest where I planned on hunting was a little over 50 kilometers(if my memory served me right) away but considering I was a superhuman who could now run at like 100 kilometers per hour it wasn't that big of deal, plus I could just use my aura, you know my enhanced aura that I have extreme control over that regenerates faster than anyone else's to enhance my speed, my speed that's comparable to Yang ,even before I got six eyes, an already fast character in the verse and after six eyes we were evenly matched now. So I'd get there pretty fast.
I walked out my dorm and locked the door and made my way to my hunting ground for the night.
Time skip( 4 hours into the night, 22:30 pm)
My chest heaved heavily as I slashed killing yet another beowulf, Grimm honestly were easy to kill, combining my six eyes, fire bending, my semblance and my weapon I was very well versed for taking out a large amount of Grimm.
I've killed probably a quarter of a thousand so far mainly consisting of beowulf, boarbutskut, Ursai and their alpha variations with the occasional slightly stronger grimm appearing only for it to fall like the rest. I mostly killed them with Athenor making sure to save the dust rounds I had in crucible, so far I used three.
Don't get me wrong this was difficult and I know that five hundred Grimm sounds like a lot but I had the absolute cheat that was six eyes, seriously I cannot describe how much aura regeneration and constantly thinking two seconds in the future can help against Grimm, they were essentially just strong animals they were ,again, absolutely at my mercy.
Even nevermore's, the grimm that can literally fly weren't out of my range thanks to a fire-bending enhanced shots that I fired from crucible.
I heard a growl behind me, well I predicted a growl thanks to six eyes and just shot in that general direction. I heard a screech and saw that the flame bullet I had shot pierced a beowulf's head, I... didn't mean for a headshot, damn six eyes was nuts.
Ozpin's pov
When it came to midnight forest Ozpin strongly suggested students to steer clear, it was utterly infested with Grimm and would be a challenge for hunters who've been for in the field for years. It was darker than usual forest thanks to the the trees, it was a very difficult space to fight in due to the trees being far apart allowing for Grimm to fight as easily as huntsman, their large size usually was used against them as they struggled to dodge tress and fight but in midnight forest those large bodies weren't hindered. All in all, don't go to midnight forest.
But the scene happening on my monitor contradicted everything I knew. Sogeru Katayoki, a second year student was currently killing, no killing was putting it to lightly, eviscerating the grimm that plagued the forest.
Qrow, Glynda, Specialist Winter and General Ironwood( who was on a video call) were all currently present in my office, originally we agreed to this meeting under the pretenses that we speak about the logistics and plans we had for the war against Salem. The shadows seemed to become lively and Salem didn't seem intent on remaining in the shadows much longer. Unfortunately we got distracted by young Sogeru.
Obviously I filled emerald forest to brim with cameras and surveillance tools, it was a Grimm infested forest a stone throw away from beacon so security was tight.
Qrow was the first to speak up, because the rest of us were genuinely to shocked to speak, "Glynda that kid is in your combat class, was he always like well... you know that" he said while young Sogeru shot a nevermore out the sky and decapitated it before it hit the ground.
"No Qrow, he was strong sure but this? Definitely not." Glynda answered still very clearly as shocked as the rest of us. I do think all of us in the room were stronger than the young man but he was specially tailored to kill things it seemed like.
"Ozpin what the hell is even happening" Qrow asked, "I'm as shocked as you I promise." Winter looked like she recognized him and ironwood looked extremely deep in thought.
"Is he a potential war power?" Ironwood asked me and frankly that seemed like a good idea, Sogeru had just killed his five hundredth Grimm, by throwing his sword, shooting a bullet at his sword, which deflected into a king Taiju's head, him shooting his sword also put the blade in a perfect position to grab so that he could grab it and slash through a horde of beowulf, might I add he killed them with a blazing aura slash that appeared almost instantaneously.
Suddenly it seemed like he knew was being watched and his glowing blue eyes stared straight in to camera.
Sogeru's Pov
Was that a camera, nah no way me killing more than five hundred grimm would come back to bite me in my ass. I know Ozpin was watching though I just didn't think he'd make a move, Salem seemed to be a bigger threat in this Au so he was preoccupied. It may be stupid but the worst Ozpin could do was recruit me and killing Salem was part of my plans anyway.
In all honesty I have no clue what the regular amount of Grimm killed stat is, I mean technically I just got here. In the show they seemed like such hulking monsters, but with everything I have up my sleeve it was laughably easy.
I'm sure Ruby could do something like this if she fully realized her potential and awakened her silver eyes innate abilities, then again if I'm as strong as a silver eyes amped Ruby at the moment, that meant I'm probably as strong as Pyrrha or Otsua since both of them are high tiers in beacon.
Though I'm probably best suited for combat against people, Six Eyes, even though I've said this a million times, is insane.
A nevermore sent feathers at me, I easily parried everything, they barely seemed to move in my eyes. I sent a Fireball barreling towards it and watched the creature go up in flames. At this point I was just waiting for my feat like seriously what's wrong with this stupid grimo-

Another damn beauty perk, are you joking me, I could practically hear the gods chuckling where ever they may be, from six eyes to this, and I killed half a thousand grimm for this, stupid celestial grimoire, stupid gods I muttered as I smashed my fist into the ground causing the earth to tremor and shake.
I checked how I look with my scrolls front camera and I literally look like a god of beauty, I wish I was exaggerating. Do you know how difficult it is to stay undercover when you're attractive, let alone when you're attractive and strong, seriously are the gods just some sinister beings who aim to inconvenience me.
Rei's pov
Otsua, Ayin and myself had gotten back from our shopping trip at sunset, we came back to a clean dorm( thanks Sogeru even though I'd never say it to your face). I had a fun time, shopping with my girls was always a nice way to spend my off day and it served as a great distraction from the hunter-in-training life. Unfortunately I had another distraction today, where the hell is Sogeru?
He said he'd be at the library but I walked past and asked the librarian if she saw Sogeru( it's pretty easy to recognize him, I mean have you seen the guy?) and she said he didn't enter the library today. In all honesty I was worried sick.
Sogeru wasn't the type to stay out late, that idiot would've been fast asleep next to me right now, it was after midnight at the moment and I still had no clue as to where he could be. His scroll was left on charge at his bedside table, so I couldn't even call him.
I sat at the dinner table poking my chopsticks at the sushi I had ordered for takeout, the worry I was feeling made me lose my appetite, and the silence in our dorm was suddenly louder than I remembered, Otsua and Ayin were fast asleep but they also expressed their worry about that Sogeru, the idiot that he is. Just as I was about to stand up and place my food in the fridge I felt an intense aura entering the corridor that lead to our room.
It was sharp, refined and flowing precisely almost like the person was intentionally controlling it, maybe it's a teacher?
I wasn't really worried about it being an intruder, breaking into a school filled with huntsman in training was a sure fire way to get yourself arrested and gods forbid that miss Goodwitch finds that poor fool who thought breaking into Beacon was a good idea, a chill went down my spine as I thought of my combat teacher memories of her strict ways and punishment jumping to the forefront of my mind.
As I heard our dorm door unlock I couldn't hide the suprise I was feeling, no way that aura belonged to Sogeru, right? Then I saw him as the door opened, he did it slowly gently, trying not to make a sound.
I was expecting to see him in a hoodie and a pair of sweatpants, he wasn't really the type to wear an outfit for fashions sake unless he was going out, but I was angered seeing him in his battle armor, crucible and Athenor attached to his hip, covered in grimm blood.
You'd think the look of blood would make him seem off putting but for some reason he looked even more beautiful than before. His dark hair loosely tied, the grimm blood enhancing his facial features and oh gods those eyes. The most intense sky blue eyes I've ever seen, a far cry of his usual dull Grey eye colour.
The roughed up look made hum look like a dark prince that came to steal the princess, if I had to describe his beauty it would be like a god hand crafted a human with the idea of pure beauty in mind.
But nevermind that I am pissed. "Sogeru Katayoki where the hell where you?" I half shouted only refraining from screaming my lungs out because I knew my teammates were asleep and I didn't want to wake them.
"Midnight forest" he answered as he walk in closing the door behind him. My heart dropped, midnight forest? The forest filled to the brim with Grimm in every kind, the same emerald forest that even fully qualified hunters steered clear of?
As I was about to speak he interrupted me, how did he guess that I was going to speak? "I know what your about to say but before you scold me look" he said as he took his chest plate and zipped down the protective mesh layer to reveal his upper body. Damn he was built, but besides that he was completely unharmed. It soothed my nerves slightly but still, midnight forest, really Sogeru?
"Why did you lie to me?" I asked him hurt clear in my tone, we never lied to each other it was like a golden rule, he frowned at seeing me upset and moved closer to hug me, I feebly attempted to push him away but I didn't really mean it and let him wrap his arms around me.
"If I said I was heading to midnight Forrest you'd probably take the first bullhead back to beacon wouldn't you?" He asked placing chin on my head, I nodded. Of course I would.
"Which also means you would've ruined your day off, the only one you have, correct?" He asked me, to which I nodded again. It's just a stupid off day, what if he got killed, so many bad things could've happened, my anxiety was starting to flare and Sogeru like always seemed to know.
He hugged me tighter a comforting action that I appreciated even though I'd never say, but I knew Sogeru would never make fun of me for it, he wasn't that type of guy. His warm body was comforting and even though he was hugging me shirtless all I felt was the most important person in my life being there for me.
He hummed the melody to a song we liked when we were growing up, and his deep voice made me close my eyes and sigh with relief, relief at the fact that he's safe and at the fact that despite all the changes that seemed to be happening, he was still the same little boy that I spent my life with.
For the first time in a long time I realized just how strong Sogeru was, first his aura now his defined physique and his strong arms that held me tightly.I'm suprised I'm not disgusted at the smell of Grimm blood actually Sogeru still smells good like sandal wood and leather now, strange but not unwelcomed, in fact he smelled absolutely amazing."Rei, trust me on this, I've gotten stronger, how much stronger I can't really tell just yet, but you'll never have to worry about me, ok?" He said lifting my chin so that our eyes met. His electrifying eyes stared into my soul waiting for an answer, I nodded again weakly, I was tired and scared but I trusted Sogeru, he never ever went back on his word and I loved that about him."I'm gonna take a shower, head to bed so long Rei I'll be right next to you in no time." He said letting go of me and squeezing my hands gently with a smile that reminded me of the joy we used to have after we successfully played a prank. He walked away to the kitchen, taking crucible off his hip and mecha-shifting it into its sheath form, he then sheated Athenor with crucible and put his weapons behind the fridge, huh so that's where he kept it.As he was heading to the bathroom I called out to him, "Hey Sogeru promise to not make me worry again?" I asked, I know he said he got stronger but I need some confirmation, just to ease my mind.He smiled at me again. "I promise rei." He said in a soft tone. You know he may be a dumb ass who stressed me out, but he was my dumb ass and I wouldn't change that for the worldSogeru's pov( Timeskip to the morning)I woke up early, the sun not even fully risen into the sky yet my body thought it would be a great idea for me to be awake. Rei was laying on top of me, she always used to cuddle with me in her sleep but after becoming a 'big girl' (her words when she turned eight) she said that she didn't need to anymore, now though it seemed like she was holding on for dear life.Damn the Sogeru of this world was dumb, he had such amazing friends who he didn't seem to fully appreciate, if I had friends like this during med school I doubt I'd be as depressed as I was.I felt terrible for lying to Rei, she was an amazing person and an even more amazing friend, but I hope I gave her atleast some comfort, though I truly meant it when I said she would never have to worry about me anymore, the Sogeru of this world didn't go back on his word and I definitely wasn't planning to.The dynamic Rei and Sogeru shared was actually oddly romantic, besides Rei being a lesbian, she and Sogeru of this world shared alot of intimate memories, they both were each other's first kiss, they always sleep next to each other( from the age of like 6), among many, many other things.I didn't doubt Rei being lesbian though she had maybe one or two ex's that didn't seem to work out, both girls were civilians and dating a hunter is difficult, at any moment your partner could die fighting grimm, your partner would most likely be busy almost every day of the week and huntsman school weren't exactly common so having to travel large distances to see your partners must've been crushing.Rei cried both times her relationships didn't work out and the Sogeru of this world was there for her, in the moment she needed him most, and for that he has my respect, hopefully going forward I can offer Rei the same comfort and happiness my past self managed but until then I'll keep my promises.I gently kissed her forehead dumb move I know but strangely I saw her smile which inadvertently made a smile creep on my face too, this new life is definitely going to be interesting.-Timeskip-(Monday- Glynda Goodwitch's combat class)Ayin-lee's PovWe were in Miss Goodwitch's class at the moment, Combat class our first lecture of the day. The classroom was queit, no one dared to talk here in fear of our teacher punishing them. Her classroom was spotless no filth in sight.At the moment we were analyzing the spar that took place between Rei and a random(didn't bother to remember their name, they weren't important.)Rei absolutely whooped that side character though, she was just more skilled than him and won him in a fair fight(that's saying something for rei, she's the least honorable fighter I've ever seen)"Alright class as we can see, Rei stuck to her basics and won the fight. I want you to remember that flashy moves don't always mean powerful, in a close quarters fight more than 70% of the strikes you'll be seeing will be either a jab,cross, kick or slash. Obviously there are special cases but learn how to use your basics and how to defend them then you'll be well on your way to mastering combat" Miss Goodwitch said, she's been echoing this lesson to us for both years we've been in her class.It's good advice and I'd recommend it to anyone, even though I myself fought very flashily that was only because of combo star, my semblance literally meant for hitting as often as possible. I just chose to be flashy because even though a backflip kick may be twice as weak as a regular kick, if I land the backflip kick immediately after a punch the two kicks would have the same power.I snapped out of my day dream and saw Sogeru writing notes besides me. He seemed to by hyper focused writing whatever Miss Goodwitch said. His eyes glowed intensely the new blue colour shined as the sunlight entered the room. He looked ethereal, almost otherworldly beauty seemed to be a good way to describe him, every minute detail blended seamlessly with last to create this image I couldn't quite do justice my mear words.Everyone seemed to stare at him whether they knew it or not, Sogeru seemed to demand attention with his looks but even more impressive than that was his aura.It was so utterly refined, constantly flowing through out his body, like it was his blood. It was strange aura didn't behave like that. Aura mostly stayed around our bodies not circulating and only being activated when we call upon it, for example when I needed to enhance my physical abilities I'd actively send my aura to my muscles usually a process that requires thinking, it gets easier with practice but constantly keeping your aura swirling around your body at all times subconsciously? That's unheard of."Today I'd like to call Sogeru and Izuma to the front" Miss Goodwitch said after she finished her lesson, I kinda was paying too much attention to Sogeru on that last part didn't really heard what she taught, oops.As Sogeru stood up all eyes seemed to shift to him he raised his eyebrow confused but simply walked down to the entrance of the combat arena. He opted to wear his combat armor today, he left crucible and athenor at our apartment because crucible didn't have any dust rounds, we were still broke students afterall (do you know how much magical kaboom power costs? Let me spoil it for you alot)Him fighting bare handed didn't really matter, his armed and unarmed combat were equally polished. Alot of time and effort went into designing his style due to his semblance firecracker. The enhanced blue strikes he threw after he built enough momentum were fast and impossible to block, I've tried and I lost a quarter of my aura that day. I learned a valuable lesson to dodge his enhanced strikes that day. Inuzuma the brave girl that she usually was seemed nervous, she was a good fighter definitely but her semblance flare was mainly used to blind grimm and distract enemies, in short she was a support fighter. There was nothing wrong with being a support fighter, every team needed one for it to be balanced afterall. Inuzuma was just unlucky to faced with one of the heaviest hitters in class and one of the most skilled in the form of Sogeru. Poor girl I feel bad for her, I still think this will be entertaining though.They stood from across from each other waiting for miss Goodwitch's signal to begin. After hearing a go from miss Goodwitch. Sogeru dashed straight towards Inuzuma, faster than I've ever seen him move. It's like he teleported almost, that was new, new and very scary.Inuzuma for her part managed to jump out of the way, barely dodging the punch that Sogeru threw. His fist cut the air creating a loud bang, I looked to Otsua and she seemed just as shocked as I was, Sogeru's gotten stronger, alot stronger and honestly I don't know how to feel about that.It's a good thing Inuzuma dodged that she wouldn't be doing so good if it landed and if the look of shock on her face is anything to go by, she knows that too. She decided to go on the attack. She had a fighting style similar to that of an out-boxer due to her being the smaller fighter more often that not. So she moved in and tried applying as much pressure as she could. Really, really bad strategy against Sogeru but it was the only strategy she had and I didn't blame her for trying.Her strikes were good, they were accurate and her technique was solid, well practiced but she just couldn't land a hit. Sogeru dodged every thing, always being a hairs width away from Inuzuma's attacks. It's like he was seeing into the future, his blue eyes seemed to glow even brighter now, he seemed to be focused on his next move. His eyes pulsed with energy, hyper focused yet utterly calm, it was strange to see someone so present in combat. What is happening with you Sogeru Katayoki I was left wondering.He dodged a cross from Inuzuma and pivoted into her with quick footwork. He pulled her guarding hand down with a fast yank and threw a straight right, sending Inuzuma's heading craning backwards. She managed to use flare blinding everyone in the room but Sogeru's eyes were suddenly shut, as if he predicted her doing it by seeing her aura fluctuate. When I finally got my vision back the distance between them was large.Sogeru's aura flared bursting with intensity and I saw Miss Goodwitch narrow her eyes, like she's seen this before, but she couldn't mask the suprise, and everyone else in the room could feel it. I could almost see the aura around him, a bright glowing blue around his body. This was unlike anything I've seen from Sogeru, by the gods what was happening?Contrary to popular belief sensing aura is actually rather difficult, it requires fine control to send your aura outwards in a controlled manner and having it bounce of your environment and return back to you. The part of it bouncing back to you is easy, doesn't require any effort but getting your aura out in a manner that's not explosive yeah not so much.We only learnt aura sensing late last year after an entire year of aura classes we only qualified, and all of us having been training since we were six years old and have had aura since we were all fourteen.So for everyone to sense Sogerus aura it either meant they were really good at aura sensing or Sogeru's aura was very, very powerful. It was the latter option.Sogeru sent a massive bolt of fire barreling towards her, wait didn't his semblance need more momentum than that? Inuzuma had no clue on what to do like a fish stuck on land.Miss Goodwitch was going to step in , until Sogeru literally out sped his attack, moved Inuzuma out the way and parried his own attack so that it didn't destroy the wall. So Sogeru is just Mr Magic hunter man and we're ok with that?"Sorry about that Inuzuma I miss calculated the amount of aura I put into that attack" Sogeru said as if he what he did was just normal. "Sogeru wins, miss Inuzuma next time please try to dodge your opponent won't save you in a real battle." Inuzuma nodded still seeming very out of it.
