Chapter 8: The Hall of Heroes and Meeting Master Shifu.
(At the doors of the Hall of Heroes).
"DRAGON WARRIOR! LEGENDARY HEROES! DRAGON WARRIOR! LEGENDARY HEROES!" The crowd cheered all the way as Po and the Heroes in Training were escorted up to the Hall of Heroes.
The doors to the Hall swung open as Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki were led inside while Po was dumped off the palanquin and onto the marble floor.
The servants of the Palace quickly picked up the palanquin and scuttled outside, shutting the doors behind him.
Izuku quickly walked up to the closing doors. "Hey, wait! I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding!" He tried to reason, still reeling in confusion. The servants didn't stop though and the doors closed with a thud.
"Uh, yeah!" Po agreed, equally baffled by the recent events. "Everyone seems to think... I'm..."
He trailed off when he turned around and realized where he was, his mouth gradually dropping as he and Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki took in the sight of the legendary Hall.
"The Sacred Hall of Warriors! No way!" Po said in awe.
Todoroki stared at the walls in wonder. "This is pretty cool." Izuku admitted while Bakugo gave a impressed hum.
Po giggled giddily as he rushed up to a rhinoceros shaped armor. "Well then you should check this out." He said, eyes shining. "Master Flying Rhino's armor, with authentic battle damage!" He says in a dramatic and joyful like manner.
Izuku chuckled. "That's pretty cool." Izuku admitted once more, looking around the hall in awe as he admired the displays.
As Todoroki looked around, he spotted a large sword with a golden hilt and emerald markings on the blade sitting on a small pedestal. "This looks interesting." He said quietly as he looked at the sword.
Po noticed him and gasped, running over and pulling him away by the arm. "Shoto! Don't look at it!"
Todoroki looked at the panda with a raised eyebrow confused. "Why? It's just a sword."
"That's the Sword of Heroes." Po explained. "Said to be so sharp that you can cut yourself just by looking at it-OOOWW!" He yelped as he put his finger in his mouth, seemingly cut by the sword.
Todoroki did a double-take on the sword before slowly backing away from it.
Bakugo, meanwhile, walked up to what appeared to be an empty pedestal. "Hey, there's nothing here." He remarked, sounding a little disappointed.
"Yes there is Katsuki!" Po said excitedly. "That's the Invisible Trident of Destiny!"
Bakugo looked at him with a are you fucking serious look. "An Invisible Trident of Destiny? That's just a load of fucking crap."
A large canvas caught Po's eye as he walked up to it. The painting itself was of a large bull fighting off an army of ten thousand demons. "I've only seen paintings of that painting..." He muttered to himself.
Todoroki and Izuku walked up to the painting as well, all of them staring at the painting with interest.
Bakugo walked up as well and crossed his arms. "Hmph, it's not that impressive."
They all spent the next few minutes pretty much looking at everything there was to see in the Hall. Po of course were geeking out or poking everything they could find while Bakugo, Izuku and Todoroki took a more laid back approach as they simply observed the intriguing artifacts.
Todoroki suddenly stopped as his eyes landed on something that looked like a glass-like urn decorated with the paintings of several soldiers.
He pointed at the urn, looking at his friends. "What that is?"
As Izuku and Bakugo looked at the detection that Todoroki was pointing at, Po looked and he gasped as he saw what it was. "No! Oh-ho-ho-No!" He exclaimed with an edge of disbelief in his voice, running up to a glass-like urn.
Izuku and Bakugo exchanged a look of confusion as they watched Po approach the urn, and Todoroki followed the panda as Izuku and Bakugo also followed, also curious.
"What is it?" Asked Izuku.
"Looks like some kind of urn." Todoroki observed.
"Not just any urn Shoto!" Po explained. "It's the Legendary Urn of Whispering Warriors, said to contain the souls of the entire Tenshu Army!"
Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki's eyes widened as they heard this, all of them staring at the urn in awe and slight fear.
"The Tenshu Army?" Bakugo questioned. "So, what was the Tenshu Army?" Izuku aske.
Po was more than happy to tell them the story. "The five hundred warriors of Tenshu were called upon to defend an isolated village of peaceful potters from the attack of ten thousand demons of the Scarlet Moon." He explained.
"Though they were outnumbered twenty to one, they held their dark horde for a hundred days, fighting shoulder to shoulder in formation and whispering to each other, 'hold fast, brothers, hold fast' to keep up their courage. They fought to their last breath and successfully drove the assassins back. The villagers were so grateful that they worked to make the most perfect ceramic vase they had ever created, molded from the clay of the battlefield and moistened with their tears." Po continued.
Izuku listened to the story intently, his eyes sparkling with awe and wonder.
Bakugo looked impressed and mildly surprised, while Todoroki simply nodded in approval, quietly acknowledging the feat of the Tenshu Army.
"Fascinating." Says Todoroki.
"Legend also says the souls of the noble warriors of Tenshu live on inside that vase, waiting to be called on again in a time of need." Po added. "If you are very quiet and still, you may hear them whispering, 'hold fast, brothers, hold fast'."
Bakugo raised an eyebrow. "You mean to tell me that if I stay quiet and still, I could hear the ghosts of those warriors whispering?" He asked, sounding a bit skeptical.
Without responding to Bakugo, Po leaning over the earn and listening closely. "Hello?" Po whispered quietly.
"Have you finished sightseeing?" A voice said.
The 3 heroes in training jumped in surprise at the sudden voice.
"Did that urn just talk?!" Bakugo exclaimed, looking between the urn and Izuku and Todoroki as he looked like he was questioning his sanity.
"Sorry." Po apologized. "We should have come to see you first."
"My patience is wearing thin." The voice said, sounding slightly irritable.
"Oh. Well, it's not like you were going anywhere." Po said.
"Do turn around." Said the voice, now sounding on edge of being annoyed.
Izuku, Bakugo, Todoroki and the Po turned to their left to see none other than Master Shifu standing there, staring at him. "Hey, how's it going?" Po said casually.
Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki immediately froze where they stood.
Po however, didn't seem to notice as he turned back to the urn, now leaning against it. "Now how do you fit five hund-." He began before suddenly realizing who it was that was standing there. "Master Shifu!" He exclaimed, accidentally knocking over the urn over in his shock.
The instant the urn hit the marble ground, it shattered into pieces, a ghostly wail sounding as green mist floated out from the remains.
Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki all collectively winced as they saw this happen.
"Someone broke that..but I'm gonna fix it..." Po mumbled sheepishly with a grimace. "Do you have some... glue?" He bent down and tried to retrieve the pieces, another ghostly moan escaping from the mess.
Shifu simply stared at the five of them, looking very unamused.
"So, you're the legendary Dragon Warrior, hm?" He asked the panda in a polite tone with a fake smile. He then turned to the heroes in training, who were still standing there in a awkward manner. "And you three are supposed to be the 3 Legendary Heroes, yes?"
Po slowly stood back up, rubbing the back of his neck uncertainty with a shrug. "Uh... I guess so?" He answered unsurely while Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki nodded.
"WRONG!" Shifu yelled.
Po jumped at the sudden loud yell while the three heroes in training all flinched.
"You are not the Dragon Warrior. You will never be the Dragon Warrior, and you three will not be the 3 Legendary Heroes until you have all learned the secret of the Dragon Scroll." He said, pointing to the ceiling with his flute where the golden dragon was gazing down from above with the scarlet and emerald scroll clutched in its mouth.
"Wow..." Po says in awe while Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki look up at it impressed.
"So, how does this work?" Po wondered. "You have a ladder, a trampoline or...?"
Shifu laughed dryly. "You think it's that easy?" He asked sarcastically, his fake smile twisting into a scowl. "That I'm just going to hand you the secret to limitless power?!"
Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki exchanged looks of surprise and slight worry, while Po backed up, stuttering. "No, I-I..."
"I'm sure he didn't mean any disrespect, sir- er, sensei." Izuku tried, correcting himself at the end of his sentence to try and show some respect even though Shifu wasn't showing any.
However Shifu had completely ignored the green hair boy as he chose to continue speaking.
"One must first master the highest level of kung fu." Shifu stated coldly. "And that is clearly impossible for someone like you." He said bitterly, pointing right at Po.
Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki could see that Po was a bit taken aback by the harsh words.
"Someone like me?" Po repeated as Shifu went around while the heroes in training back away a little bit.
"Yes!" Shifu exclaimed. "Look at you... this lazy butt!" He swatted Po's behind with his flute as the panda jumped with a yelp. "These flabby arms." He continued, gracing the panda's arms with the same smack of his flute.
"Hey! Those are sensitive in the flabby parts!" Po protested as Shifu continued. While Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki watched this exchange quietly.
"And this ridiculous belly." Shifu muttered, prodding Po's bloated abdomen with his flute. He then turned to Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki. "And as for you three."
Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki froze as Shifu turned to them, suddenly feeling like they were being judged by him, which reminds them fully of when Mr Aizawa had done something similar, like in the quirk assessment test. Shifu circled them like a shark, looking them up and down, studying their appearances with a critical eye.
"You three look ridiculous in those clothes, how can you walk around in such ridiculous clothing?" Shifu questioned as he insulted their hero costumes.
Todoroki's expression remained neutral but he seemed to be slightly annoyed, and Izuku was trying to hide his discomfort at being called out on his hero costume. Bakugo on the other hand, his eye twitched in irritation, clearly offended by the insult, looking like he was about to lose his shit.
"What the fuck is wrong with our hero costumes?!" He snapped, his voice filled with anger. "These are our official uniforms for hero work you dumbass!"
Shifu stopped in front of Bakugo and raised an eyebrow, not intimidated by his outburst in the slightest. He folded his arms and looked down at him.
"And those uniforms look like they are designed by children, it's clear to see they are not built for battle." He said bluntly. "Your costumes don't provide you with any protection and look more like a joke than a proper outfit."
"Now, wait a minute!" Po said indignantly, coming to his friends' defense. "That's a little uncalled for."
"Don't stand that close, I can smell your breath." Shifu interrupted, moving back a little farther and cringing at a stench only he could smell.
Po decided he had had enough. "Listen." He said hotly, raising a finger at Shifu, disregarding all respect and manners and taking a daring step closer to the red panda. "Oogway said I was the-."
The panda didn't get the chance to finish his sentence as Shifu abruptly turned around and pinched Po's outstretched digit between his thumb and middle finger. Instantly, Po's eyes widened and he quickly fell to his knees. "The Wuxi Finger Hold?" He gasped in horror. "Not the Wuxi Finger Hold!"
Shifu smirked slyly, which intimidated them even more. "Oh, so you know this hold."
Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki look at each other with confusion, each having the same thought.'Is it really that bad?'
"Developed by Master Wuxi in the Third Dynasty, yes!" Po answered, terrified.
"Oh, then you must know what happens when I flex my pinky." Shifu hinted slyly, lightly twitching his pinkie finger. The slight movement made Po whimper even louder, much to Shifu's enjoyment.
"No, no, no!" Po begged for mercy.
"You know what the hardest part of this is?" Shifu's voice lowered to a dangerous whisper, leaning forward as his eyes narrowed into slits. "The hardest part… is cleaning up afterwards." This was followed by a sinister chuckle while Izuku quietly gasped in horror at those implications, as Todoroki looked surprised at hering this while Bakugo looked nervous but also skeptical.
"Okay! Okay, please, take it easy!" Po begged for his life.
Shifu squeezed Po's finger a little harder. "Now listen closely, all of you." He ordered, making the heroes in training look to him. "Oogway may have picked you but when I'm through with all of you, you're all going to wish hehadn't!Are we clear?" He asked firmly.
"Oh, yeah, we're c..clear." Po managed to say. "R..right guys?"
Izuku and Todoroki nod in fear and quickly respond with a unanimous yes, as Bakugo said it in a disgruntled manner.
Shifu glared at the explosive boy, releasing Po and grabbing Bakugo by his finger before flipping him over his shoulder.
Bakugo landed with a loud thud on his back, the wind being knocked out of him as he let out a loud curse.
"Damn you, you old bastard!" He wheezed, looking up at Shifu with a mix of anger and surprise.
"I said are we clear?" He says once again to Bakugo sounding more serious.
Bakugo let out a grunt of frustration, realizing he was not going to win this battle. He slowly pushed himself up onto his feet, his expression still angry but a hint of defeat. "Yes… we're clear." He muttered through gritted teeth.
Shifu gave a sly smile, chuckling darkly. "Good." He said, satisfied. "I can't wait to get started."
Izuku, Bakugo, Todoroki and Po looked to each other as Shifu led them out of the Hall and down to the training room.
"And here I thought Aizawa was crazy with training." Todoroki commented as Izuku and Bakugo nodded in agreement.
To Be Continued.
And done, boy that chapter took me all day to finish but I managed to finish it, and I can't wait to get started on the next chapter.
And to those who are wondering why I didn't make the boys into animal versions of themselves is because I just wanted them to be normal instead of looking like animals.
And to Guest. I've read your comments and I can tell you're a fan of my story and I really appreciate your comments. And I've also seen the comments that you had suggested that izuku bakugo and todoroki should have in the third sequel to the story and I plan to use it, so thank you for the idea.
And before any one of you ask, no Tigress will not be shipped to Izuku Bakugo and Todoroki, because I just don't see that happening that and I'm not shipping a PO with Tigress because I just don't see them as a romantic couple.
That's all I have to say I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll be making the next chapter soon.
Until then peace.
