Tales of the Foreigner

Chapter Six

A New Day, A New Life

Morning came upon the school of U.A. High as a well-rested Heather slowly began to wake up from her slumber. After finishing up the meal given to her by All-Might, taking a shower, and trying to understand how the television works, Heather was fast asleep like a log during the night. She would've slept long if it hadn't been for the sun hitting her face due to the curtains not being closed on her window/balcony. The bunny girl blinked upon seeing that she was still in the room the school gave her for the time being. She couldn't believe that this was real until she pinched herself in the face. Yep, it was real. She wasn't dreaming or anything of the sort.

"Nope, not dreaming...it's hard to believe that I would be in a place like this." She said before pulling herself out of the bed and beginning to stretch her body a bit, causing a loud cracking sound to come from her body. "Wish I could sleep in more, but I get the feeling I would get in trouble for doing that." Just as she lets out a low yawn, she soon hears a knock at her door followed by a familiar voice.

"Hey, Heather. You're awake in there?" Mineta asked as he opened the door to her room only to pause upon feeling the room was cold. "Geez, it's freaking cold in here! Don't you have the heater on in here or something?"

"Huh? It doesn't feel cold to me. It kinda feels cool." She said before noticing her arms and hands glowing blue. "Oh...I think that might be because of me."

"Don't you have control over your quirk?"

"I...don't. It just activates at random at times...I'll have to be careful when shaking people's hands if that's the case. Though I doubt anyone would be around me given the way I'm dressed."

"Speaking of that." Mineta walks out of the room for a split second before returning with a set of shoes with bunny cartoon characters on the front part of them. "All Might left these off to the side of your room." He said as Heather took them and began to examine them before starting to put them on her feet. She lets out a slight giggle upon feeling like she's walking on clouds due to how the shoes feel.

"Wow, what a nice guy. But then again, it's not a surprise. He is the world's number one hero after all." Mineta said as he noticed that Heather was wearing nothing but the bandages covering her entire body, other than her hands and feet.

"You're okay Mineta?" Heather asked as she noticed his face burning bright red as he looked away.

"Y-Yeah! J-Just...um...never notice that the b-bandages covered almost your entire body," he said as he would occasionally look upon certain parts of her body as she started to get her clothes on from yesterday. He was mainly staring at her breast and butt areas as he once again had perverted thoughts appearing in his head, but soon stopped himself from thinking this...but would say that he was a one lucky S.O.B for seeing a girl without clothes on in real life...even though the girl is her friend and she was covered in bandages, this still counted in his book.

"Wow, American girls are big in all the right places at times." He thought before noticing Heather fully dressed.

"S-So what will you do with your old clothes when you get some new ones?"

"I'll keep them as nightclothes, or for when I'm in the dorms. They're...kinda the only clothes I have from back home before I was…"

"R-Right, right." He said before scratching the back of his head awkwardly. "H-Hey, let's head over to the cafeteria before classes start. Don't want you to be hungry during his lessons." He said before motioning her to follow after him as she follows. Just as the two were making their way down the hallway, Heather would notice some of the students staring at her as they did yesterday. Though that might be due to what she's wearing, they might still think she's a villain, or what Mineta said about his reputation. Whatever the case might be, she just focuses her attention on Mineta as they walk together.

"So, are we heading over to the classroom?"

"Normally we would be heading over to the cafeteria to get you breakfast, but Aizawa wanted to meet with you for some reason."

"...You mean that man with the wraps covering his arms and face?" She asked as Mineta nodded, causing Heather to gulp in fear. "Should I be worried by him?"

"What? No...Maybe a little... H-He's a nice guy despite his teaching methods and stuff...He's a cool teacher."

"Not helping my case, but I'll take your word for it." She said before noticing some of the students looking at her. "It doesn't help that people are staring at me."

"Well, do you remember what Principal Nezu said? People think you're in league with the villains that attacked the USJ. Not to mention you look like you were just pulled off from the streets of Japan."

"...Technically I was pulled off the streets of Japan."

"Oh, right...a-anyway just be careful and stick by me. I am your friend after all. I know this place like the back of my hand. You have nothing to worry about."

"If you say so," Heather said before noticing Mineta stopping in front of a large door with a sign hanging on the wall next to it that says 1A. "Wow...don't you think having a large door like this is a bit much?"

"Well yeah, but you have to take into account that most people are about that size due to their quirk." He said before making his way to the door, only to pause and turn his attention towards Heather. "Now you'll have to promise me that you'll be a good girl when we enter okay~?"

"Y-Yeah, I'll be a good girl."

"Really~?" Mineta said with a grin appearing on his face. "You promise to be a good girl~?"

"I'll be a good girl, I promise," Heather said as she heard the door to the classroom quickly open up. She turns her attention towards the door to see a man with long black hair with bandages covering his arms and parts of his face, minus the two eyes visible to other people to see if they were up close to him. Heather flinched in surprise upon seeing him, but his attention was drawn to Mineta as he was glaring at him.

"What are you doing Mineta?" Aizawa asked, which caused Mineta to act frantic.

"I wasn't doing anything! J-Just making sure she was...um...going to be okay when she introduces herself to the class." He said, which caused Aizawa to turn his gaze upon the bunny girl.

"You must be Heather, correct?" He asked, speaking in English as Heather nodded quickly out of fear of him. "Let me be clear about this. You shouldn't be allowed to be here given this much freedom, especially what happened at the USJ. Not because you saved three of my students which I'm going to assume was by accident, but the fact that you were with the villains that attacked Class 1A." Aizawa's eyes glowed red as he slightly moved up towards Heather in a threatening way causing Heather to shiver in fear of him. "I don't trust you one bit. You show any signs of mistrust or villainous intentions. I will take you down. Is that understood?" He asked as Heather nodded in hesitation. "Good, now both of you get inside." With that, Aizawa walked inside and headed toward his desk.

"I...was not expecting that," Mineta said as he looked over at Heather who was on the ground as if she was playing dead. "Whoa, are you okay!?"

"Yeah... fine...I'm just gonna stay here on the ground...until I'm dead or something along the lines of that." She said which caused Mineta to try and drag her into the classroom by her tail, only to feel her latch onto the side of the door. "Please don't let me go in there with that mummy man!?" She asked, which caused some of the students in the classroom to let out low muffled snickers of laughter. Aizawa let out a groan of annoyance as he turned his attention back onto Heather.

"If you're going to act like this, then I'm going to bring you to Principal Nezu myself." He said which caused Heather to quickly stand up and slowly make her way into the room. Upon entering and standing in front of the classroom, she would see the nineteen students stare at her only to lower her head and stare at the ground. "Listen up, because I'm going to say this once. As of today, Heather will be interning here at U.A. High School. Specifically, she'll be part of class 1-A's school curriculum. She can't speak Japanese, so you'll have to talk to her in English so she'll understand what you're saying. Don't bombard her with too many questions or pressure her into asking questions that she doesn't know. And do not grab her hands, less you want to end up like Bakugo when he first interacted with her the other day." He said, which caused Bakugo the grunt in annoyance. Heather took notice of the familiar voice as she looked over at Bakugo, who was glaring daggers at her. Which caused her to look away from him. "Now go take your seat in the back so we can begin with class."

"Y-Yes, sir," Heather said before quickly making her way to the back part of the classroom.

"Now then, onto today's topic. Don't think that your fight is over just yet just because some of you fought a bunch of villains the other day," he said which caused some of the students to mutter into confusion as to what he meant by that. "The U.A Sports Festival is about to start."

(Nurse's Office)

The school bell rang through the school, indicating that it was lunchtime for the students. As the students of U.A. were either going to their next class or headed off to Lunch, Heather was busy in the nurse's office getting pieces of wood and plastic out of her butt. Next to her side were Mineta, Kaminari, Jirou, and Mina who were trying their best not to burst out laughing at what happened to her in the morning with two of the teachers that were teaching class 1-A. The only one who wasn't laughing and was busy comforting the poor embarrassed bunny girl was Momo.

"This might be the most embarrassing moment of my life that I can remember," Heather said while burying her face in the bed she was on. Specifically the pillow.

"H-Hey, I-I'm sure it's not all that bad," Momo said, trying to cheer Heather up only for her to deadpan her.

"Let's go over today's recent incidents," Heather said in a sarcastic tone. "I broke a desk in mummy man's classroom, which doesn't help seeing how he thinks I'm a villain. So that might make it harder for me to try not to make people think I'm a villain, which I'm not. I passed out in math class due to thinking Ectoplasm was my sleep paralysis demon from my childhood, twice. Froze Bakugo again when I passed out the second time due to tripping on my own feet and falling on him. If he wasn't planning on killing me now, he sure as h-e double hockey stick is after that. Threw up in the trash bin when Present Mic asked me to read something from the book he handed me which I couldn't read. And I broke another desk in English class which got me into this situation with shards of wood and plastic sticking out of my butt like that...um...what's the name of that animal with spikes on its back?"

"P-Porcupine," Mina answered as she began to calm herself down from the fit of laughter she was having.

"Yeah, that's it- Ow!"

"Sorry, dear. That shard was deep." Recovery Girl said before finishing up her work. "There we go. Good as new." She said as Heather pulled herself up she examined herself and began to put her shorts back on.

"Thank you Recovery Girl," Heather said before looking back at Momo. "So yeah, not going so well on my first day here in U.A High School if I'm being honest...Um...I'm sorry I never did get your names yet."

"Oh, right. We never did get the chance to introduce ourselves." Jirou said as Momo walked over to the others. "I'm Jirou Kyoka, but you can call me Jirou."

"Mina Ashido! Nice to meet you by the way!"

"Denki Kaminari! Nice to meet you sweetie~!"

"I'm Momo Yaoyorozu."

"And I'm Minoru Mineta! But you already knew that." He said as he noticed Momo walking back over to Heather.

"Let me be the first to welcome you to U.A. High School and thank you for saving us that day when the League of Villains attacked the USJ," Momo said, which took Heather by surprise from seeing Momo bowing towards her.

"Yeah, I owe you one for saving us. I didn't know you had the same quirk as Todoroki." Kaminari said, which caused Heather to blush a bit due to not being used to being thanked.

"I-It was nothing. N-No need to thank me or anything like that." Heather said while scratching the back of her head awkwardly. She soon noticed Recovery girl walking over to her with a pair of cuffs in her hands. "Um, what are those?"

"Quirk canceling cuffs. Principal Nezu did say that you were supposed to wear them until we can make you a special garment to help make sure you don't freeze anyone by accident again." She said before placing the cuffs around her wrist.

"Wouldn't that make her look more like a prisoner?" Kaminari asked as he eyed Heather up and down. "I mean, it doesn't help that she has bandages covering her body and wearing rather revealing clothing due to them looking like they would fit a ten-year-old."

"I can agree with you on that. But sadly there's not that much I can do to some degree with Heather. From the message that Nezu sent to the faculty members of the school, Heather is currently registered as a guest here at U.A until we can get more information on her." She said which caused Jirou to speak up.

"Wait, what do you mean by that?" Momo asked. "Doesn't Heather live someplace around here?"

"Originally, she lived over in America before she was kidnapped and brought here by her kidnapper." Other than Mineta and Heather, everyone else would be taken by surprise by hearing this as they looked over at Heather with shocked expressions on their faces.

"Wait, you were kidnapped by the League of Villains!?" Mina asked as Heather shook her head.

"No, no, I was kidnapped by a man with a vampire quirk. How I ended up in the situation I was in two days ago was by accidentally following the villains due to thinking that it was a place that gives out free food...You kinda get tired of eating food out of trash cans and dumpsters for the past three months." She answered before with a mix of shock and horrified expressions on everyone's faces besides Mineta who was grimacing from the thought.

"How are you still alive!?" Kaminari asked as the bunny girl shrugged.

"I pretty much ate food from the trash that didn't have bite marks on them or didn't look bad. The only place that had food that was in perfect condition was that weird large building with a bunch of small stores in it..." She said as she noticed their shocked expression. "...Did I do something wrong? Oh no, was I not supposed to do that!?"

"No, no, you're not in trouble or anything...I...think I'll have a word with Principal Nezu in setting up a physical and mental examination." Recovery girl said as she handed Heather a sucker. "Anyway, you're free to go. It should be lunchtime now, so you might want to head off to the cafeteria before you miss it." Just as Heather took the sucker, the group nodded as they made their way outside of Recovery girl's office. Once in the hallway, the group turned their attention onto Heather who was innocently sucking on the sucker given to her by Recovery Girl.

"...So you followed the League of Villains, not knowing that they were villains, and thought it was a food line?" Jirou asked as Heather nodded. "...You must be the luckiest person alive to make it this long in the condition you were in."

"It also would explain the bandages covering your body and the clothes you're wearing," Mina added as she eyed Heather up and down. "You need to get something better to wear."

"She doesn't have any other clothes than the one she has on herself," Mineta said as he eyed Heather. "Not that I'm against the clothes she has on, but I do have something that might help her."

"...And by that you mean something perverted," Jirou said as Mineta glared over at Jirou.

"Hey, it's not something perverted. Just something my mom wanted to give her after I told her about her situation." He said before waving his hands at Mina as a means to stop her from saying something. "And before you say anything, I had to tell everything that Heather told me to my mom due to her asking me a lot of questions."

"Oh, okay."

"Wait, you're not mad?"

"Well we are friends, and friends help each other out from what I remember from watching that cartoon show of talking ponies. So I shouldn't be mad at a friend for helping." Heather said beaming with innocence as the group was dumbfounded by what she said.

"...Would you...um...be willing to answer a few questions I have that need to be answered?" Momo asked as Heather nodded.

"I'll try to answer your question...but I would like to have something to eat...I kinda forgot to eat this morning."

"Oh, of course! Let's take you to the cafeteria so you'll know where to go." Momo said as she motioned for Heather to follow her along with the others. "This might be a good time to introduce you to the others if they're in the cafeteria."

"...Is Bakugo going to be in there?" Heather asked.

"Possibly, I mean it's not like he's going to attack you for freezing him again. He'll just possibly glare at you from a distance or walk by." Kaminari said as he noticed a scared expression on Heather's face. "B-But I'm sure he won't attack you or anything. Less he gets into trouble." He said, but that didn't help in the slightest as Heather walked over to Mineta to pick him up. "I'm not making it better am I."

"Of course not, idiot," Jirou said as she noticed Heather carrying Mineta. "Why are you carrying him like that?"

"In case dirt hits the fan, Operation Honey Bunny will be my escape plan from Bakugo." She said before pointing the balls at Mineta's head. "With my ability to jump high into the air, and Mineta's balls that can stick to stuff. We used that to trap Bakugo and escape from his wrath. I call it...Operation Honey Bunny." Heather said with a slight accomplishment/confident expression on her face as if she invented something cool...which wasn't the case seeing how it was just a trap that could be done with anything depending on the substance or method of trapping someone in place. Mixed thoughts ran through Mina, Jirou, Momo, and Kaminari's heads upon seeing Heather's innocent side ranging from "She's so cute and innocent." to "Dear God, this girl isn't going to last long in this school. Let alone the world itself."

"Let's...get you something to eat before we get lost in the conversation about what happened to you and yesterday's ordeal," Jirou said as the group continued to make their way to the cafeteria.
