Kurt can't hide that he's a little nervous on Wednesday. He eats breakfast and gets ready just in time for Blaine to pick him up at home. He gets into the car and kisses his boyfriend "Hey. Thanks for driving". "Of course" the other man answers and off they go.
At the hospital they have to wait for a few more minutes and at this point it's obvious that Kurt feels nervous so Blaine takes his boyfriends hand and holds it tight "You'll be okay and I'm right by your side". A nurse calls him and a moment later the couple sits alone in an examination room, waiting for Doctor Mitch.
It takes another few minutes until the doctor comes in "Ah Mr. Hummel. I see you brought your husband". He shakes Kurts hand, then Blaines while both men try their best to hide their smile. "My plan is to make an x-ray to see how your wrist and ribs are doing. You will also get a new cast and I check up on your stitches. If everything looks good we can take them out" the doctor explains.
First he cuts Kurts old cast open before a nurse picks him up for his x-ray. While Kurt is gone Doctor Mitch asks Blaine, the husband, a few things about home. How good he recovers, how much he walks a day or if he takes more time resting and how Kurt is dealing with the pain and the medicine. Things a husband should know. Things a boyfriend knows when he spend all his time at his boyfriends apartment instead of his own. Blaine was able to answer every single question.
When Kurt comes back he gets a new cast while they wait for the results of the x-ray. Once there Doctor Mitch is happy to tell that everything goes according to the plan. Kurts ribs will have healed in about five to six weeks and his wrists in eight to twelve but if everything keeps going well he can switch from a cast to a brace in about six weeks.
Last but not least Doctor Mitch looks at Kurts stitches. Kurt got several cuts but four of them needed stitches. One close to his ankle. That one healed very well so Doctor Mitch takes out the stitches. It's an uncomfortable feeling and a pinching pain. Blaine can see his boyfriend grimace slightly and knowing what it feels like he sits down next to him and takes his hand. "Squeeze as tight as you want" he whispers and the other man nods, squeezing hard but not painfully so.
Next the doctor looks at his left arm, a cut just above the cast and one, longer one, on his upper arm. The one at his upper arm is the longest but they both healed well so Doctor Mitch can take the stitches out there as well. The long one is the most uncomfortable yet because it takes the longest but the other one doesn't feel as bad after that. Last but not least Doctor Mitch carefully takes the band-aid off the stitches at Kurts neck. That already hurts and Kurt doesn't want to know what it feels like to take the stitches out. But he will because they healed well as well.
Blaine can see the look in Kurts face so he lets go of his hand and wraps an arm around him, taking his hand in his other hand. "If you hold very still and don't move we get my stuff from the studio tomorrow and I play the song I'm working on for you" he whispers. "New music?" Kurt asks and his boyfriend answers "Tomorrow and only if you hold still now". "Can you still sing for me after work?" the younger asks and Blaine nods "Because you're so brave yes".
While Doctor Mitch takes the stitches out Kurt holds very still, trying to not pull a face and instead squeezes Blaines hand tightly. A few moments later he's done and can move his head again. "The scars will be visible a bit longer but fade away eventually. Get some scar cream. They should help" Doctor Mitch says and hands Blaine a paper with the name of the cream on it because Kurt is busy putting on his shoe again.
"I still have that at home. Are they still good to use after about 12 years?" Blaine asks and the doctor nods "Sure. Finish yours and if it's not enough get some more". The couple thanks Doctor Mitch and they say goodbye with a handshake. After that the couple goes back to the car.
"I still have some time. Let's drive to my apartment and get you that cream before I bring you back home again" Blaine says and starts the engine. "Thanks for being with me and holding my hand" Kurt says "I felt like a little kid who needs his parents hand. I thought I should get this with 21". "It's uncomfortable. Especially at the neck. It's okay to be 21 and still need a hand to hold. Besides I like being there for you" Blaine answers smiling.
"Here is the cream and in case another game night is in sight I thought I give you my SkyJo for a while because you liked it" Blaine says when he comes downstairs again and gets back into the car. Kurt waited there and took control of the music. He thanks Blaine who now has to hurry a little so he gets back to NYADA in time.
"Thanks for coming with me and driving" Kurt says as soon as they stand in front of the door. "I always have time for you sweetheart" Blaine answers and leans in for a kiss. Yes he should hurry but there's always time for a kiss. "See you later honey" Kurt waves "I love you". "I love you too" Blaine says and gets back in his car.
It's less than three hours later when Blaine comes back home with Santana and Rachel but coming in Kurt is nowhere to see. "Bathroom maybe?" Rachel asks but Blaine shakes his head. "I know where he is. Also you two relax. I'm cooking today" Blaine says and goes to Kurts room. The blinds are closed and the light turned off, Kurt laying in his bed and sleeping peacefully.
Quietly Blaine closes the door behind him and sits down on the edge of the bed. "Time to wake up sweetheart" he whispers, starting to kiss his boyfriend awake. "Mh. What time is it?" the other man mumbles sleepy. "Around 5. I want you to be able to sleep later so you have to wake up now" the curly haired man says but Kurt protests "I'm comfortable".
"You wanted me to sing something for you right? You have to get up now if you still want me to sing" Blaine teases. He already promised Kurt to sing and he won't break that promise. "Okay I'm getting up" Kurt groans. "Thank you sweetheart" Blaine says. He helps Kurt up, pressing a kiss to his lips once he's sitting. A long kiss. And then another one. Only then Kurt slowly stands up just to sit back down on the couch.
"Hey girls. Is it okay if I play a little something?" Blaine asks before he grabs the guitar. Since Rachel and Santana never heard Blaine sing besides in class or when Kurt were listening to his songs they agree and sit down on the carpet so they can listen to him too.
Blaine sits down on the couch and takes a few moments to tune the guitar before he smiles at the three friends looking at him and starts to play, his voice joining for the first verse.
