"Sensei, you truly are hopeless" Arona said with a sign.
The Guardian Sat down on a public bench in the middle of the abydos desert. Arona, and His Ghost where theory crafting with Guardian Sensei on the best way to approach the students who sent the distress letter directly to Schale.
In the countless life time's the Guardian has lived he hasn't really attempted to talk to anyone outside of the relentless onslaught of Enemies trying to destroy humanity. Especially not people as young as students, if only Saint 14 where here he would know what to do.
The guardian sighed, out of all the things to cause him trouble.
"So, what do I say. Hello Students I may be a big scary armored adult but its fine you can trust me" A hint of self frustration in his voice.
"All I have known is war Arona, I'm a man of action not words" he said trying to reason why he is so nervous.
"If i mess up this first impression then, they wouldn't want Schales help worse what ever problem they are having might spiral out of control or worse" he said rubbing the bridge of his helmet.
"You said it your self Guardian Lets show them that they can trust us, I'm not sure how but we will find a way" His Ghost said determined.
The guardian stood up.
"Well first we need to deal with our situation, all this talk has lead us into the middle of no where" He said looking at the endless ocean of houses.
From a distance a student was watching us on her bike. She stopped at the end of the road examining us. Her eyes squinted and wolf like ears perked up.
"I think shes looking at us" Guardian said.
"you think?" Arona dead panned.
The Guardian waved at her. She approached cautiously.
"Are you lost?" She asked in her monotone voice.
"Yes we are looking for abydos" Ghost spoke up floating along side his guardian.
Shiroko noticed the little drone robot floating next to the guy tilting her head in curiosity.
"We are Actually the Sensei from schale" Ghost continued. That caught the student's attention. they where aware of a new scary adult running schale. Talks about a pmc buying there way into the high ranks of the general student council reached as far as the desolate abydos.
"So... your sensei" She said pointing to Ghost.
"No he is" Ghost gestured toward his armored warrior. The Guardian Waved in politeness.
"so who are you" The student asked.
"Oh I'm his Ghost" He said introducing him self.
"And I am the Guardian" Guardian sensei said also introducing him self.
"So... your a ghost like a spirit? you don't look that scary" She said recalling the rumors.
"Its weird but think of me as an extension of the Guardian, I am him and he is me" He said proudly proclaiming.
"So your like his soul" She said scratching her chin.
"In a way yes" Ghost replied.
In a flash she took the little star shaped robot and began to cycle away. The guardian sprinting after her.
Inside Abydos the wolf girl appeared in what seemed to be a club room. a bulletin of jobs and areas of interest next to a desk of a map of the burred city of sand.
"I'm back she said" Holding a little robot
"Welcome back, Shiro...ko?" A cat girl with a pink halo said before squinting at what she was holding.
"What the heck is that?" She said pointing at the robot.
"I stole someones soul" She said proudly displaying it in her hands.
"Hello its good to meet you" It responded.
"AH! Shiroko what the hell?!" Serika said incredulously.
"I-It spoke!"
"Maybe we can sell it for a good price" Shiroko said smiling.
"Whoa wait nobody is selling me!" Ghost said floating out of her hands over the table.
"Lets just talk this out!"
"Whoa! Shiroko the grim reaper" another girl named Nonomi joked smiling her bright smile.
"Hey what did you do Shiroko? you should return the robot" a girl named Ayane said not believing it was someones soul.
"Look the Sensei is going to be super upset unless you return me to him" Ghost spoke up. They didn't know ghost could just dematerialize out of existence but he wanted to see where Shiroko would take him. Following this hunch he sent a wave point marker to the Guardians hud allowing for the Guardian to find the school.
"Wait maybe he would sell for some good money, he looks super advanced like how is he floating" Serika said scratching her chin.
"Nobody is selling anybody" Ghost spoke up.
"We are here to visit the school" He said.
"A visitor we hadn't had a visitor in ages" Nonomi said.
"But I didn't expect anyone to show up" Ayane said panicking.
"We are the Advisor from Schale. It's a pleasure to meet you" Ghost said speaking up. introducing him self kindly.
"No way! You are" Ayane said before getting cut off.
"You got the letter Ayane wrote" Nonomi said with a tune.
They all started to discuss all the possibilities this meant for them. All happy and cheery like.
"wait where is the Armored guy paired up with his little robot friend?" Nonomi asked a bit worried.
"I-i lost him some where in the desert" Shiroko admitted looking away.
"WHAT?!" Serika said shouting.
"Shiroko we could get expelled for..."
"Nobody is expelling anybody" Ghost said sternly getting the attention of all the girls.
"Look I'm not sure what these rumors are saying about us. But give us a chance please" He pleaded.
Suddenly.
*ratatat* Gun fire broke the silence outside the school.
"We are under attack! Go wake up Hoshino Ayane said Serika running to another room.
"Under attack by who?" Ghost said looking out the window a bullet flying just above him, causing him to retreat back to floating above the desk.
"The Kata-Kata helmet gang!" She said everyone beginning to arm them selves.
Shiroko was the first to rush out firing bullets at the Helmet gang members. The Helmet gang exchanged fire the streaks of purple light trailing their bullets. Shiroko ducked and went to the make shift cover that they had built.
"Ever since they got these new bullets they really became such a bigger nuisance" Ayane said to Ghost. Nonomi, Serika and Hoshino joining Shiroko in the gun fight.
"Wait... when did they get these bullets?" Ghost asked.
"About a couple weeks ago. they have this weird purple energy to them and leave purple scorch marks, why?" Ayane asked.
Ghost pondered for a minuet before realizing.
"Ayane listen to me those weapons are charged with void light.. Just how on earth did they get those kind of bullets" Ghost said looking at the students fighting.
Ayane Raised her eye brow.
"Void light? what are you talking about..."
Down on the ground the battle was fierce the gang members with their para-causal weaponry where cutting thought the defenses the Abydos students had put up for them.
"shiroko! i think now is the time" Hoshino said in her lazy sort of voice.
Shiroko nodded pulling out her grenade.
Focus, Focus
She mentally said to her self calming her breathing. She squeezed her hand grenade the gunfire around them started to drown out. Focus, Focus. Deep breaths. A dark blue icicle formed on the tips of her fingers. Focus look within. The icicles began to grow all over her hand into her grenade her blue eyes shined in a dark blue light. the grenade in her hands now pulsating rhythmically to her heart beat. She appeared over the cover and tossed the grenade into a group of helmet gang members.
As soon as the grenade made contact with the ground it blew up, icicle shards spreading in a short radius around the impact making a dome.
"What. That, That's stasis" Ghost said to him self in a whisper.
"What the!" one of the helmet gang members said standing inside the radius.
"C-cold" another said.
The 5 of them tried to escape the grenades chilling effects to no avail. The Abydos students watched as Icicles formed around them turning them into frozen statues.
"Horay shiroko to save the day!" Nonomi said cheering her friend on.
"Eat this punks!" Serika said a blazing blue flame forming around her. The bullets firing at the frozen students causing their icy prisons to Explode violently knocking the 5 of them out.
The Leader of the group nervously assessed the situation and pulled out a flair gun.
"We need reinforcements!" She panicked the red flair firing in the air.
"Ah hell" Ghost said watching from inside with Ayane.
"We can talk about what the heck is going on later, for now we need to stop them" Ayane said sending in a drone to assist her fellow class mates.
Ghost felt something. something he hadn't felt in a long time.
"Something is coming, Something bad" He said floating down the hall way. Ayane tried to stop him but her teammates where more important.
Ghost flew to the top of the building, where in the distance. he saw a Vex hydra no doubt escorted by Goblins and hobgoblins.
"The Vex? what are they doing here?" He said panicking.
"Arona! Guardian?" He said trying to see if they would pick up from the long range communications.
"We are almost there ETA 15minuets" Guardian said.
"Whats wrong Ghost san?" Arona asked.
"Its the Vex They are coming in hot!" He said his voice pitch that of panic for the safety of the students.
"What?! the hell are they doing here, I'm picking up the pace Hold out until I get there. Go and warn them tell them to bunker down inside the school" He said before coms cut.
Ghost rushed into the room where Ayane was stationed at.
"Ayane listen to me, ignore the Helmet gang There is something more pressing at hand!" He said
"There are these... Uhh Robots coming to possibly hurt your friends we need to be more defensive!"
"I'm sure we can handle them, I mean with Shiroko's powers" Ayane said before being cut off.
"You don't understand these Robots, They are the Vex and they-" A sudden mechanical roar could be heard as the vex where now on the scene.
"What the you guys aren't more helme-" The Helmet gang member was cut off by the Vex hob goblin firing his slap rifle at her head knocking her out.
Shiroko taking the opportunity took the unconscious gang member while her friends abandoned her in a panic.
"Tie her up we can interrogate her later" Hoshino Instructed Shiroko nodding going inside.
The Vex goblins started to slowly march up to the schools entrance. Their chassis had nicks and scratches from being inside Abydos for who knows how long.
"Okay tin heads time to, Ah!" Hoshino said ducking behind her shield when Another Slap rifle shot barreled toward her. The impact being absorbed by it.
Nonomi began to fire her mini gun at the approaching goblins the bullets making pings of their armor before damaging them enough for them to crumple to the ground inactive.
"These guys are tough" She commented before reloading her weapon.
Serika used her scoped rifle to take pot shots at the Hobgoblin Striking it in its beady red eye.
It stopped and crouched down before glowing in a orange light. Its body began to repair its self before it looked back at serika.
"Hey that's cheating!" Serika said getting angrier.
As the fight continued on. Vex slap rifles and Hobgoblin line rifles echoed though out the battle field The abydos students cutting them down bit by bit. eventually they started to run out of ammunition.
"Uh I'm out." Nonomi said her face full of sadness. more vex slap riffles buzzing over head.
"Ghost sama, We cant hold out much longer when will Sensei be here?" Ayane said with a desperation in her voice.
"He's almost here just hold out a little longer" Ghost pleaded.
I can only make ammunition for the guardian. Dam it. He mentally swore.
As the fight grew more desperate the Head of the Vex showed its self. A Vex hydra a floating mind with rotating particle shields that protected it. Its side formed into void cannons and relentlessly fired upon the students hiding behind cover.
Shiroko was trying to reactivate her frozen grenade. while Serika tried to hit its weak spot between its sheilds. Nonomi used a side arm which she had just incase and hoshino was being pinned down by the hydra. Ayane dropped a healing package for hoshino just incase.
When things seemed dire the screech of a rocket could be heard cutting though the air. It bore into the hydra causing severe damage before another rocket came right behind it this time. It bore deeper into its chassis causing a massive explosion kicking up dust everywhere.
When the dust settled the students noticed a figure's silhouette. His armored physique revealed its self as the dust settled.
"I'm the Sensei from schale I heard you needed help"
